On a recent trip home my sister called me to ask me to make a detour here to pick her up a drink before I made to my destination. Of course, being the nice brother that I am, I obliged. In my time living in Somerset County and roaming about Somerset as a whole, I have never stopped here. I am not a coffee drinker and no, I will not go out of my way to come here for a tea or any of their food. Most of my reviews for a Starbucks usually centers around me being forced to come here with a family member or a friend. But I was on my own on this one. This location kind of sits overlooking the Turnpike so that you can see the sign to entice you to pull off here to get your fix. Honestly, that is probably the only reason Somerset has a Starbucks. The building that it sits in looks rather ominous as it is one of those dark bricked stores. Like, years down the road, once they decided to close up shop here, you will remember that this was a Starbucks. I pulled in, got in line at the drive thru and just had to sit and wait. Pulled up to the kiosk and told them I was there to pick up a drink for my sister. It was ready and I just had to pull around. That is, sit in the line and wait. Pulled up to the window and the customer service here was top notched. Not enough to convert me to a Starbucks fan, but enough to see why so many people out there are Starbucks fans. Getting in and out of here is a bit tricky. You can test you luck by pulling out of the lot onto the road. Or you can take the safer route by exiting to the access road that leads you to a traffic light. If you take this route, you might wait a little longer since the light favors the main drag, but you will get out of here in one piece and without spilling a drop. read more

I went through the drive-thru, and I bought a pink drink with cold foam. Once I got my drink, an employee was giggling in the back. The person who was handing me the drink looked like they were about to burst out laughing. When I looked at my drink, it was not what I ordered at all! So, I went inside and asked if I could get another one, and they said no! So, I sat down and drank it. It didn't taste anything like the pink drink I wanted! The only reason I didn't do one star is because the inside looked nice and clean, the tables were all nice and polished. But it doesn't change the fact that they made the wrong drink. This is the best Starbucks I've ever set foot in. My sister and I got stranded on the PA turnpike after our car broke down on a 5 hour drive and camped out here until we got picked up and my goodness the workers were so kind. Played such good music and made fantastic drinks and I cannot tell you how much it meant. If these employees read this please know you are rock stars and deserve the world! read more

8/4/22-Further Update like 1+ yrs since prev : ordered several things on app, stopped to p/u several things, one being a 12oz Americano - it was tap cold (supposed to be hot!) Luckily the other drinks we ordered were the proper temp. Update, it has been months since I got something at this location, so I had forgotten my previous experience (below). I again got coffee to go and in drinking it discovered it was dripping all over my shirt. Don't know what the issue is here. Not sure what cause was, but they put the opening at the seam, which they should never do. Just left and as I was getting in to my car the lid popped off and some hot coffee sloshed out all over my lap. Looking at the cup, I see it was a damaged cup with a smashed rim. No good excuse for giving that to me that way. read more

The barista actually knew how to make a Cortado. So awesome. They were out of paper napkins and some other miscellaneous supplies maybe due to Covid or just being too busy. But I was able to get in and out relatively quickly and the drinks were done well. read more

I am more of a Dunkin' man but I occasionally enjoy a hot drink from here. The staff has always been friendly and drinks are always on point. They offer free WiFi and because it's in the mountains it is never overcrowded. You can sit down and have your favorite caffeinated beverage and enjoy a nice conversation. read more

Just stopped in for a morning coffee. I have never been treated so badly by a Starbucks staff. The ladies name was Cassie I think. Blond hair. Very emotional. I hope it was a bad day but I spoke to 2 other people (employees) in the service plaza. Both said the same thing. She is a very emotional person. I can't speak to the inside of this Starbucks as we only visited the drive through, but man! They were so efficient! We placed a large order (in retrospect we probably should have gone in but it was raining and we were anxious to get back on the road) including multiple food items and drinks. The guy who took our order carefully reviewed it with us to make sure he had everything and when we pulled around (there wasn't anyone in front of us) he was already waiting there to hand us our drinks. And even though all the food had to be heated (breakfast sandwiches) they were quick with those as well. We visit Starbucks stores frequently and this one really stood out in terms of their service and speed at the drive through. We'll be back when we pass through the area again. read more

This place is great, especially while traveling the PA turnpike. It has a drive thru if you want to keep going, and a lot of room to relax for a while. No need to wait at the restrooms either which are big and take multiple people, not just one at a time which can be a real problem while traveling. The baristas here are very knowledgeable and make great drinks. Don't pass this one up. read more

Second time here. Super clean & great service. Drive thru is in perfect location for easy access to PA Turnpike in either direction.

I have been here a few times despite not being a coffee drinker. They offer breakfast sandwiches (even for lunch time) and sweets. I typically get their mixed iced teas which these are amazing! The sandwiches are frozen, and they are microwaved to order. This doesn't bother me considering I usually stop for lunch. Plus, the sandwiches are delicious. I LOVE the cake pops they have. Staff are awesome at this location. Very attentive and pleasing. They easily answer questions and are willing to help. read more

My wife and I have been coming to this location for quite a few years. We've always had excellent, courteous service. One employee in particular stands out above the rest though. Emily. Meh... Super slow service. Especially for a place in a busy exit place off the turnpike. Employees very friendly & polite but this place was seriously understaffed. Drinks consistent with what we normally get elsewhere so that was good. Bathrooms were really sad. This was the ugliest Starbucks bathroom I've been in. I couldn't have imagined reviewing a Starbuck's until stopping at this one on the way to DC on I76. Super personable staff, cleanliness, etc., and also an array of excellent breakfast options I've never seen in a Starbuck's. When the sausage croissant wasn't as warm as my sidekick wanted, it was warmed with a smile - and a coupon for a free coffee. Seattle could take lessons from Somerset. read more

Baristas here are always super friendly and make your drink the way you like. Only had one drink mishap once which was quickly corrected. Drive through is convenient, but there is seating inside and outside if you prefer. read more
