Wife and I stopped in at the rest stop to get gas and food. We got a few pretzels and Starbucks. I had a veti mocha frapp with whip cream. The service was fast and friendly and the drink was made perfectly. I find with a lot of the rest stop Starbucks on the Pa Turnpike it is hit and miss on service and quality. Located in a crowded rest stop plaza this locations is busy! The line was about 12 deep and it was about a 5 minute wait to order, but the baristas were quick and efficient. They displayed top tier customer service, and I received my drink within 5 minutes! Will definitely be visiting this location again. I am not a Starbucks fan, as I find their Pike's Roast basic coffee to be almost undrinkable. Whether this is intentional or not is subject to debate, but it certainly leads many people to order the upgraded lattes and caps to avoid the bitter/burnt taste of the underlying java. Starbucks knows how to make money, and getting the contract to put the mini café into the service areas of many state roadways was brilliant. Still, there is an obvious drop off in quality, service and choices in these small shops. Feels like the corporate culture does reach down to these far-flung outposts. I needed caffeine to continue on my way and did not want one of those super sweet caffeine in a can options this day. If you come in here at 7 am in the morning I'd say you get a good frappe with somewhat fast service (keep in mind they have to make the Frappuccino). I was on my way home from Philadelphia and this Carmel frappe was good after a bad bus drive (lol the bus driver got lost). It's not the best Starbucks on earth, but for being in the middle of Pennsylvania it is definitely worth stopping in the rest area and going to. $7.60 for a "Caesar" salad, what a joke. I don't know how they can call it a caesar salad if it doesn't have any salad dressing, only a small lemon wedge that is hardly enough to cover the top layer of greens. Salad contained romain lettuce, parmesan, "grilled" chicken, and the lemon wedge. Went at 12:30 and they were out of sandwiches already which left me this salad or veggies and some type of dip. Other rest area options weren't good either. I recommend skipping this whole rest area. read more

Nice place. They are good with getting your order right in a quick manner. I can count on one hand the number of times I wasn't satisfied with my order, and I go here quite a bit. The inside is nice and comfortable but I wish it was bigger because of how busy it can get. read more

Stopped here on our way, the cashier was friendly but the bright red-haired girl was super rude to us and the person ahead of us. The guy in front of us asked for room in his iced coffee. There was no milk at the station. He asked the red haired girl if they had milk out (like other starbucks) . A flat "we have it back here" was her response. He then had to ask her again if he can have some extra milk on his coffee, she rolled her eyes and got the milk. Then she spilled the milk all over his hand when she was pouring it in his cup. My turn...she mumbled my coffee and slammed it on the counter. Never had such crappy service at a Starbucks. read more

If 0 stars was possible...that's what I would rate this particular location. It is Starbucks so the product is typically good. However, the service at this location is the absolute worst. The employees here have no sense of urgency. This location is always so busy and the employees don't try to do anything quickly. They had a sign up in the middle of the floor when you walk in advertising some drinks. I waited in line for 20 minutes to be told they were out of one of those drinks. If they cared at all they would have put "sold out" on their sign. Also, it's always filthy. They should be shut down. read more

It's starbucks! As far as starbuck's go, it's not the worst or best I've ever been to. The staff is very friendly at this location and they always seem to get my order correct. It did take a while to get my coffee and they really were not busy. The store is small and is part of a larger service plaza. . But it's always been very well kept and very clean. I really do go to a LOT of Starbucks. This one is located at the South Somerset service plaza. As is the case with many of the licensed stores, you get a level of service and quality that is not really up to par. Ho Hum, it is par for course with this particular service plaza. read more

Not a coffee fan, but they offer a variety of other items to order. The teas they offer are delectable. The sandwiches are microwaved as you order them, so this is the only reason why I docked a star off. The cake pops are declines as well as the other sweets they offer. There is normally a long wait to order, which I can understand with the size of the rest stop, but my coffee was poorly made, as I had to ask for the Batista to wipe off the outside of the cup, and they gave me more whipped cream than coffee! read more
