I got the pierogis and kielbasa which I enjoyed (the pireogis were light and didn't make me feel heavy), but would've liked better if it wasn't like room temperature with the air conditioning on. Today, eleven of us got together at Eat'n Park for lunch. We enjoyed ourselves for over 2 hours, visiting and enjoying our lunches. My wife had a large salad and I had a double cheeseburger with a side of gravy covered French fries. Everything was good. Service was excellent and very good at keeping everyone happy. The customer service was good, nice and friendly people. Took our order quickly and for our drinks. The restaurant seems pretty taken care of and clean. In my opinion, this is like a Denny's or IHOP; it has that vibe. The vibe wasn't the best. My fish came in it's own plate but was full of oil. So I just ate around it. Shrimp and broccoli were pretty good. Husband had two chicken filets with Mac and cheese. He said the Mac tasted old but it sure was cheesy. Lol! It's a sit down place but like I said reminds me of Denny's and IHOP. Any stellar? No, but decent food and great customer service. Sadly this review doesn't come from the great staff and service I've received over the last 20+ years at this local version of a diner chain stemming out of the Pittsburgh area. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and the soup & salad bar even better. However, the menu and food options have changed drastically since I started coming here as a kid. Even with the nicely-done, bright remodel featuring a new statue of the famous smiley cookie in the lobby, the famous bun & sticky roll is off-the-menu, the chicken tenders have changed and the overall experience just isn't the same as I highly recall it all to be. Is it worth what you pay for? Sure. Of all the years my family brought me here as a kid to now, the service has always been fine and the bathrooms always clean. But when the food just doesn't bring back those fond, childhood diner memories, the experience just isn't the same as it once was. I honestly can say the breakfast menu is better than the lunch or dinner menu and that the classic grilled stickies à la mode is still on the menu from the film The Perks of Being a Wallflower for those movie buffs, like myself. However, this local diner just doesn't bring back the same fond memories of quality food as I remember it did before COVID. Once the menu changes, then so does the moment. read more

Road trip dinner didn't disappoint! I was in the mood for a substantial meal after lots of driving during the day. There's not that many options in the area and I picked Eat 'n Park for its close proximity to my hotel. I was deciding between a cheeseburger and a fish sandwich and my waiter helped me make the decision. When the fish sandwich came, it was HUGE. It's quite simple, just a piece of cod fried to golden brown and crispy between a roll (toasted!). I slathered some tartar sauce onto the fish and inhaled the whole thing. There was the option for a second side but I only asked for one - fresh potato chips. It came with ranch dressing. The chips were not a lot, which worked for me because I didn't want to eat too many of them :) Pricing was reasonable for the portion: $13.77 after tax. read more

Complete disappointment in every respect. Over the years we had come to expect consistently good food from Eat'n Park, but this time they failed miserably, and it was the second tome in a row. The first poor meal was at the Waterfront location when it took almost an hour to get my meal. My wife ordered a grilled chicken breast with a side of veggies and a baked potato. The chicken was flavorless and unseasoned, and appeared to be a precooked frozen piece with painted on grill marks, reheated in a microwave or something. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and got the same dry, flavorless, unseasoned piece of something on a bun. My side dish was delivered ten minutes before my sandwich. Our third ordered the fish sandwich and also found it to be flavorless. When our server asked us how our meal had been we told her the truth, but she then berated us for not telling her before we ate it so she could bring us something else. We had been driving from Delaware and we were tired and hungry, and she's arguing with us because we didn't tell her the food was awful early enough. I will start with, I have never heard of this place and when my friend suggested it I thought we were going to an outdoor food court type place. I'm not from this area. When we were seated we had literally the nicest waitress. An older lady who was very attentive and just super friendly. She gave each of us a bread roll and a cinnamon bun. So immediately this place has my heart. Do I have a gluten intolerance? .....yes Did I care? NOPE I ate my as well as almost everyone else's cinnamon bun as everyone has specific dietary needs and honestly....I didn't care. So then I ordered my food. French toast, some eggs bacon and hash browns (that looked more like fried potato footballs) so....on a food aspect which I mean it's a restaurant it wasn't that great. It was just like...food. Nothing special. Not particularly flavorful but it is what it is. At the end of the meal we were all presented with cookies. I guess this is the signature of this place. Having these cookies. I WAS SO OBSESSED. (Also the cookie wasn't that great but like it is what it is.) The super wonderful waitress accidentally didn't add a salad bar meal on to the bill. We let her know and she was like eh it was just a salad. Which to the vegan friend was like OH SNAP. So please know that we added that into her tip because she was so kind! So I have said it before, but I'm going to restate that right now, I enjoy a good salad bar/buffet. One of the few reasons we came here last night. When we arrived the place was packed with it being the dinner rush. But we didn't wait at all when we got in there, we were seated immediately. That, and what I'm about to mention, was the highlight of the experience here. Our server was top notch and very attentive. Engaging my niece in conversation and doting over my nephew. She even wrote a note of good luck for my niece since she just started kindergarten. But, there's always a but, something went wrong with my meal or maybe the salad bar. Everything seemed fine, the food was edible and tasted just right to me. I had the Bruschetta Chicken with steamed broccoli. I enjoyed it immensely. And you can't go wrong when you make your own salad. But something did go wrong. A few hours later when I got home I got sick. So something on my plate or something I chose at the salad bar did not agree with me. Needless to say I made a few trips to worship the porcelain god. If I could give this place 0 stars I would most definitely not hesitate. My mother, sister and I are on a teeny weeny road trip. On our way, we researched for food near us. We had never heard of a Eat'n Park before and the menu had intrigued us. We walk in, the host was seating us at approximately 0.3 mph. More specifically the speed of a middle aged tortoise on a really good day. We sat down. Our waitress was very pleasant. I guess she can be the reason why this place even earned a star. My sister was having tummy troubles so she thought to just go light and pick the soup and salad bar. I thought "Hmmm that sounds like it would tickle the spot for me" so I caved and I also ordered the salad bar. My mother ordered a side salad with cheese (the cheese never appeared in her bowl). Now, the time had come, we got up to get our meals. The salad bar was extremely unsanitary. Basically just throwing metal bowls in a trough of ice. Absolutely foul. The fruit selection was grapes on a vine and fruit cocktail with a questionable watermelon colored, peach textured item of some sort. We sat back down. I then noticed a nice long curly hair on the top of my lettuce pile. I was flabbergasted. I was on the verge of gagging but did not want to be rude. My sister later found another hair, but this time short, black, and straight, right on top of her grapes (on the vine). My mother ordered a chicken bacon ranch wrap. It looked promising at first, come to find out that one bite was taken and ranch was flooding the plate. I'm sorry but I believe a chicken bacon ranch wrap doesn't equal a ranch puddle in a tortilla. We couldn't even finish our meals because of how repulsive this environment was for us. As we were waiting for our check, we came across a half eaten chicken tender? maybe? on the ground. To get the nasty taste out of our test buds, we got the infamous smiley cookies. As I type this, my mother is still suffering the consequences of a near death choking experience that occurred because of how dry that cookie was. Most definitely not worth $50. Wow! Totally exceeded my expectations. We were on our way to Pittsburgh from Gettysburg and there were hardly any food places open or with good reviews so I choose to stop here. By the title, I thought it was a drive-in place but it's a normal American restaurant with a huge menu. It's one of those restaurants that attracts families and the grandparents. It reminds me of Marie Callendar's and Coco's back home because they have the pie case up front. We were seated right away and service was awesome! I ordered the chicken ranch pasta primavera and asked if I could just get plain grilled chicken instead and our waitress checked with the kitchen and they were able to do that which made me happy. It did take a while to get the food, though, and we wanted to get back on the road quickly. Nonetheless, the food was tasty and better than I expected. My pasta had in-season vegetables, the cream sauce wasn't too heavy, and the garlic bread was on point! My sister's spaghetti was good too. Also, great prices for the amount of food you get. Couldn't leave here without trying the pies and their signature smiley face cookie. In fact, since we purchased slices of pie, we received a free cookie. The cookie was okay (kind of dry), not the best sugar cookie I had. The coconut creme pie wasn't my favorite; it was light and tasted sort of like marshmallow fluff. But I loved the chocolate creme pie and apple pie! The apple pie was a special this month for only $2! read more

This is a nice Eat n Park right off the turnpike. Wait staff is friendly and food is great. We have been here a few times and it has always been with a rather large group. The waitresses always take good care of us and are very accommodating. The salad buffet is nice and kept clean. Prices are average. It is a nice place to take the kids and family.
