This is absolutely the slowest service Starbucks I've ever been to. And, for reference I usually go to locations in cities, airports or suburbs, so I have a range of experiences to choose from. This was a random Tuesday afternoon. I placed a mobile order for pickup and was shocked when the time to wait was 20 minutes. I've never seen that ever. We waited, and waited. Saw people order and get their drinks. People come in after us and get their drinks. It was at least 30 minutes before we finally got our two very simple drink orders. And when we asked for drink hole covers, were met with attitude like we were wasting their time. This location also seemed unkempt and unstocked. I'll choose elsewhere next time. For such a large store, you'd think they'd do better. read more

I'm not a coffee drinker but have stopped here a few times for a hot chocolate. The staff were welcoming and the establishment is clean. They do have a front and back entrance by parking can be difficult to find especially on weekends since it's downtown Somerville. I recently did an online order for pick up, it stated pick would be available within 10 mins but ended up taking about 30 mins, it was on a weekend though on a weekday I was in and out so be mindful of this. read more

Despite the reviews I drove to this location (it was the only one open in the area at ~8:30 PM). Due to the rating, my expectations were low. I entered through the back door and it was apparent the floor was recently mopped and all of the chairs had been put up. I figured someone likely forgot to lock the back door and they would tell me they were closed and decline taking my order - that's not what happened. I skeptically approached the counter and inquired if ai could place an order. The employee reassured me they closed at 9 and I "had plenty of time" (it was 8:45 PM) & graciously took my order. My order was perfect & piping hot (just how I like it)! Four other customers came in after me. They were served as well. I'm glad tonight's staff disproved the comments. read more

If you like Starbucks and want to.find a friendly one with room.to work or just hangout and relax then this Starbucks is for you. It has become my very favorite Starbucks. It's located on Main Street in Somerville and you can access it from the ShopRite parking lot and enter through the back where you can park for free, or if your on Main Street and walking you can also access the front entrance. I loved that they played rock music versus coffee house music it was a nice change and upbeat mood. The staff is very friendly and smiling , I felt like they really enjoyed working here which is rare for any Starbucks. Usually, the employees look worn out. I definitely feel a sense of community. They have a wall in the front of the store covered in photos of random local people who visit from the neighborhood or just visiting the area. There are a few high tops , counter space with seating and comfortable lounge chairs with coffee tables for sitting and relaxing. This store was very clean, As a matter of fact when I was entering through the back entrance one of the staff was spritzing the doors and making sure they were clean. My Matcha Frappuccino was made perfectly, and I noticed a good mix of adults, teens, and some children. They sell juice boxes and milK for kids along with baked goods, salads , and sandwiches and chips. There is a nice assortment of travel mugs, custom packed coffees, and coffee and tea related gifts. FYI- this place does get very busy so if your in a hurray and don't want to wait in line call ahead and place your order. I will definitely be returning here read more

Let me start by saying I understand that going on New Years Eve at 11:30am- the store would be busy. Since my local Hillsborough store was closed, we decided to order ahead at the Somerville Starbucks. Since the app let me order ahead, I think a reasonable time to wait would have been 15, or even 20 mins. When we walked in, the store was still taking walk in orders and mobile orders. The huge crowd waiting were all visibly upset. But what could I do? I had already ordered 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches for my daughters. What is most upsetting here is that the District Manager or the manger in charge should have turned off the mobile ordering. The only thing that made me more upset than waiting 40 MINUTES for my drink was that it was the GREED that played a hand here. Consider that you had a packed store that aren't able to social distance and not all customers are wearing masks..leaving order ahead on and now expecting those same customers to wait 40 mins!! I don't blame the hard working associates, I DO blame the manager and District Manager. Figure it out. I won't be returning! read more

I used to think of Starbucks as the masters of fast fabulous coffee. I stopped in this Starbucks for an iced decaf with half-and-half. And then I watched for almost 10 minutes while about a dozen mobile orders were filled by 3 people behind the counter. But no iced decaf for me. When I approached the person behind the counter who took my money -- almost $5 -- she said "We don't have decaf. We have to brew it." OK. You say so; I believe you. But that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in a coffee shop! I asked for my money back and left. I will never return. I did also say "I think you should've told me that when I was placing my order - that there would be a wait." I do not think I made a sufficient impression. I just realized I never gave this place a proper review although I've been here so many times! The staff has always been so nice and their barista skills are worth the visit every time. Although, there was that one period when they first opened..but that's so in the past. But really, the baristas are awesome. If they are ever in a bad mood, they do a great job hiding it. It's such a perfect location since they are right on the corner of Downtown Main St and Davenport St. in Somerville. Finding a seat hasn't ever been a problem for me and neither was finding an outlet. And now with their new wireless charging stations embedded into the tables, they are truly satisfying my inner techy. It's funny to me because I once saw a Caucasian couple sitting there in a table in front of everybody drinking a bottle of wine. I know most restaurants in Somerville are byob but I had never seen that before at Starbucks. Today I bought some coffee and my bf got some beer at the vintage edge shop and decided to bring it along . We got kicked out right away but I don't understand how the other people sat there in peace. Nice people, somewhat disorganized. One thing aggravates me: when they open the plastic wrap on a lemon loaf, they drop the loaf in a bag icing first, which causes a mess in the bag. Why not leave the plastic wrapping intact, I can probable figure out how to open it. read more

So happy to have a Starbucks a few blocks from my house. The staff here is great! Not to shun the others, but Dave is the best, knew him from the Bridgewater mall Starbucks and was happy to see him in Somerville. Very friendly and attentive to customers and willing to help any way he can. Location is a 5min walk to train station! I always get my chai tea latte with a pump of white chocolate mocha yummy! protein bistro box is great too! Personally, I think mobile ordering here is the worst on some days. It's inconsistent, and 1/2 the time what I order is not available when I get to the store. But they usually make it up with something else. All Starbucks locations are not the same. Stay with me... First, this one has street and lot parking that's convenient to downtown Somerville. Second, it's got a Clover machine, which is the price of a cheap new car, that magically transforms beans into the perfect cup of coffee, and most males will like watching it work (we like stuff like that, right fellas?). Third, the staff is nice and accommodating. Unlike other locations (especially the nasty Village at Bridgewater Commons), this one will give you ketchup for your sandwich if you ask. For some reason, Starbucks doesn't normally have ketchup (which the rude staff member reprimanded me for not knowing a few weeks ago). Fourth, for you Weight Watchers™ members, after you weigh in, you can come get a sub-400 calorie breakfast because it's only a 20-second walk. Finally, they have outside seating, which is wonderful on a nice day. This is one of my favorite Starbucks locations. read more

This Starbucks just opened in Somerville and I love it. I'm here all the time. It's a great size location with a lot of tables as well as high tops. I come here to study and get my fix of caffeine. Did I mention they have WiFi! It's clean and all the employees are great. It does get busy at times (of course) but they're pretty fast with the service that I don't usually wait a long time. It's quickly become one of my favorite Starbucks. There's also a parking lot towards the rear entrance, so you don't have to worry about metered parking on Main Street. And I highly recommend getting no-water chai latte. I rarely get anything else :) read more

This is one of the few Starbucks locations in Somerset county that I've seen with a clover machine. If you are a coffee purist, you'll know that's a special thing. I can't stay I'm a huge fan of any Starbucks, however this particular store is clean, convenient and has a nice little area to sit outside. The tables are on the Main St side of the establishment so you get a view of the street traffic and can be noisy at times. Parking on the other side, shop rite side, can get congested with the apartment building and other area stores right there. Starbucks blonde roast (black) is my go to so I can't comment on any of their speciality drinks. Coffee is made fresh on the regular and the ice coffee is pretty good as well. read more

I've been coming here since it opened. The baristas are all very friendly! My only complaint is that sometimes your drinks dont come out that good depending on the baristas who make it. They need to train their baristas more and make sure they can make the drinks correctly. Some of them can, some of them can't. I've gotten drinks where I've gotten to my car and took a sip and it was painful to finish the rest of it because it tasted that bad.
