I also had the eggplant sandwich - fresh bread, well breaded and seasoned eggplant, good cheese and roasted pepper. They are known for coffee roasting - plenty of unique blends and single origin available. Will try next time. They have a cooler with snacks and some bottled beverages. Service was friendly, excellent. They have an outdoor patio which will be nice in warmer weather. Small lot in the back, but lots of street parking also. Give them a try!

The baristas are consistently kind, quick, and talented, and the drinks come out perfect every single time. Athena looks to set itself apart from many of the other eateries in the mall. There are a few seats (no more than eight I believe) so this is really meant to be a "to go" spot. I wound up ordering my usual, a Dirty Chai and I decided to try their Orange Cake as well. The Chai was good, not great. I would put it at about the same level as Starbuck's, just not as sweet and you got a bit more of a spice hit. The Orange Cake was fantastic, with a nice, soft texture with a sweet, citrus hit in every bite. I would definitely get it again. Service was good. The baristas had quite a line when I went and they handled it without any problems. If you need a coffee or some nice dessert while you're at Menlo, this is a good place to check out!
