Haven't been back to this Assembly Square location in years, was bummed to see that they have basically reduced indoor seating to half of what it used to be. There used to be lots of narrow standing counters next to all the windows, poof all gone now. Internet is now erratic, keeps dropping the signal. Also, the music is a bit cheesier/bouncier (i.e. less relaxing and more annoying) and played louder than it used to be...so am guessing they just want folks to buy their drinks and then GTFO. Probably some corporate bean-counter/consultant's overpriced strategy to reduce operating costs and increase profits. Really too bad, as it used to be an awesome place to go spend an afternoon working or socializing, now it feels a bit cramped. Well, at least the outdoor seating is still there, so come warmer weather it'd still be usable. Still, will have to look for an alternative. read more

Popped in for a breakfast double smoked and a green tea matcha latte with strawberry cold foam. Staff were nice and accommodating. Bathrooms were clean when we arrived, request a code for the door! They have a new system of making a lot of the breakfast items beforehand and has a heater system they all sit in. Made for quick in and out as we had to run. The double smoked was nice and hot and i like this system better than having to wait longer if you're in a hurry! I went to the Starbucks in assembly row, and this was quite disappointing. I ordered 1 Venti Iced Double Berry Matcha and 1 Venti Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. When I got my drink I checked the name of my drink and it was exactly what I ordered. When my family took a sip, they realized that it wasn't the Dubai Chocolate Matcha but it was the Iced double berry matcha. We all realized that both of the drink was the same, Iced Double Berry Matcha. We realized this by seeing that there was no chocolate foam but there was strawberry in both drink. I wanted to share my recent experience, which unfortunately left me quite disappointed. During this beautiful autumn season, I visited your store with my personal pumpkin-shaped cup and ordered a small Pumpkin Spice Latte. However, the barista, she*(i will not gonna give she's name), informed me that they could not prepare the drink in my personal cup. This was very discouraging for me, especially since using personal cups is something that many Starbucks stores currently encourage as part of sustainability and eco-friendly practices. It's also a popular trend on social media, and I know that many other customers have successfully done this at different Starbucks locations. Perhaps this may not seem like a big issue to some, but for me, it was a truly disappointing experience. I've always appreciated Starbucks for its values and customer experience, but this situation made me feel unwelcome and disheartened. As a result, I've decided that I will no longer be visiting this location. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. The staff here were exceedingly nice! I was getting my regular Starbucks order, plus an extra croissant for my sister. Unfortunately, they only had one left, but they let me know and offered to replace it with a cookie. I didn't really mind but then they gave me not one but two cookies! And a $4 gift card! On Aug 15 2020 they charged my card twice for $35 and refuse to help me resolve this issue. When the transaction was made that day, the store employee said that "its impossible" that she double charged me because she "didn't press the payment option" on her computer. I call my Credit Card company and they could not help me during the pending phase of the charge. As anticipated, both charges got posted to my account. I returned to this Starbucks at this time to request refund as both charges were applied. The service is very good at this location. The wait times are usually very reasonable and the staff is also very nice. The place gets noisy and busy though. My biggest pet-peeve is the condition of the restroom: two days in a row the men's restroom is just plain disgusting. The smell of the urine permeates the room. This is just so unacceptable and unlike other Starbucks locations. I also wish that there were more comfortable seating options. read more

Went here after taking my sister shopping. Good location because there is also a park across the street. During my visit, there was quite the line but, it went by fast. The coffee was great but, it's near Boston and only the far west Starbucks often ruin drinks. Lol I ordered a hazelnut misto and my sister had a maple pecan seasonal hot drink. Both made our day because at the airport Dunkin' Donuts in the rental area was disappointing. It's great having your order correct the first time. So, no complaints. This is my local Starbucks at Assembly Row, less than 5 minutes from home. The baristas are really on top of things- they'll always get your order started then have someone else deal with the register, so it's super efficient. However, it is a busy location overall, which is why they divide & conquer this way, so it does get quite noisy. I don't mind though, it's convenient enough for me and parking is a non-issue since there's a giant lot! Plenty of work surfaces including a large central table, so it's a good spot to bring things to do. (Usually, there are several people working at their laptops but I even saw a couple playing a board game here the other day!) :) It's a newer Starbucks, so the overall look & feel is great, too. read more

But the bitter, burnt product they assured me was their new 20-hour cold brew either (a) was the worst cold brew I've tasted, or (b) was actually sittin' around standard blend poured over ice and passed off as CB. Not going to assume, as both deserve the same feedback, but I will say they were out of two other limited availability items ordered by my colleague. Follow that with a disheveled scene at the pick-up counter, and you've got a "Well, this is a disaster" afternoon coffee meeting. Chanced to come by this store for the first time a couple of years ago when we trying to get someplace downtown but took the wrong turn somewhere and ended going all the way over the bridge on I-93 into Somerville. This is the very first exit when you're traveling north and it takes to a very lovely new shopping mall called Assembly Raw Shops, which this Starbucks is a part of. When we were back in Boston this time, this Starbucks has become our designated breakfast destination. Here's why we love coming here: - The store is spacious, modern, and bright - It has a nice patio overlooking the water - On a nice day, the wall to the patio lifts up like a garage gate -- this is way cool - It's super easy to get to from downtown (across the bridge, take the ver first exist, turn right to McGrath / Fellsway, and then turn right again towards the shops. The Starbucks is going to be part of a smaller building just outside the main mall) - Unlike downtown, parking is ample and free - They carry a lot of sandwiches and wraps so you can actually have a nice meal here (some stores don't bother with real food and only do coffee / tea and pastries) - There are some nice shops in the mall to if your party is in the shopping mood and you're not, let them do their thing while you relax with cup of coffee (or maybe do some work on your laptop). At the time of me posting this, the address on Yelp is incorrect and will take you to the other side of the town. This is the kind of Starbucks you come to in the morning as much for the coffee as for the sunlight. Three floor-to-ceiling glass garage doors betrays that this place used to be a mechanic's haven for cars rather than sleepy people. Light streams in from every angle; the nearby lake and high ceilings lend a sense of clarity. Exactly what you want before a morning commute to work. Somehow, the baristas are friendly and smiling, even though the place opens at 5:30 AM, when practically no other coffee shop in Somerville is awake yet. This makes it a preferred stop for T workers, paramedics, and office professionals trying to get an edge on their bosses. On the other hand, this location closes at 9:30 PM, so don't expect this to become your late-night neighborhood cafe (try Diesel Cafe in Davis Square for that). My barista waits patiently as I struggle to get the words, "Grande Vanilla Latte" out of my mouth at so early a time. She's won me over already. I throw in a Slow-Roasted Ham & Swiss into my order, though the Vegetable Fontiago looks good too. She later asks me if it tasted good. Nice customer service touch. The Yelp reviewers weren't kidding about the service here. By the time I'm finished with my breakfast, a few of the employees throw open one of the garage doors, letting in the natural summer air and granting patrons access to the spacious patio-which reminds me that, if I don't get going, this Starbucks is just great enough to make me forget that it's a workday. LOVE this Starbucks. Not only is the location fabulous, but every single barista I've had an encounter with is exceedingly friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. The store is kept very clean at all times. Even when they're really busy (I regularly sit in there for several hours studying), the lobby is well-kept. On top of everything, this location has a Clover machine, which in my opinion routinely makes one of the best cups of coffee around. I was refused a bathroom, while wearing gloves and a mask. The entire store was barricaded so the customers would be at least 8 feet away from every customer. But to use their bathroom I would not even need to talk to anyone, because the bathrooms are right next to the entrance. The bogus excuses why don't hold water for me. The employees were all congregated talking to each other about 1 foot away from the other, so it's not health related at all. The manager on duty was extremely callous and stoic, she wasn't hostile, worse than that she was apathetic of the fact that I was in pain and desperately needed a restroom after waiting for my green tea latte. She advised I drive 6 minutes away to find one, no apology, and no gratitude for my patronage. I think she has ice water running through her veins. My latte wasn't that delicious either, not worth the aggravation. read more
