Really nice brewery right by TD garden! They have a large space inside and about 5 tables outside. We were able to sit outside with our dog. On the particular day we visited, they were understaffed and were only offering bar service which was fine with us. We got a few of their beers which were all excellent. The Belgian Waffles truly had an end taste of maple syrup. The lemon shandy is very dry and slightly sour. We got the arancini which were SO good. We also got the truffle fries which were great. We got the Shifty, Forager, and blazin bird pizzas. All of them were really good in their own ways. The Blazin Bird was a popular one at the table. read more

Brewery #409 Nightshift brewing is a cool place along the wharf just across the street from The Garden to get a few beers and a bite to eat. I ordered my usual flight, but they were out of stickers :( They had some unique beers amongst them one called Belgian Waffles which is a blonde ale with maple syrup and cinnamon. This was dessert or breakfast, depending on your perspective, in a glass. I also got a hazy IPA, a peanut butter stout, and a hefe. All were really good. For lunch I got some honey jerk wings. These were cooked to perfection. Crisp skin and juicy meat. The problem was the flavor. They had the honey but no jerk. There was no spice at all. They were still good, but they could have been great. Anyway, give me stickers and spice and I will give you that 5th star. read more

This is one of our favorite places to have a meal when we're out on a walk with our pup. We've only ever sat outside on the patio. Service is very friendly and they are always accommodating in terms of where we would like to be placed on the patio. Their beer selection is decent, my husband always enjoys one of their lagers or IPAs. I would really appreciate it if their cider selection was improved. They usually have at least one good cider but more recently, they have been "out." With so many great cideries in New England, it's disappointing that they don't have a collab with one of them. I mean Downeast is just just across the Harbor!!! With that being said, the food is awesome. Our favorite go tos include: the jalapeño arancini, the roni' roni' pizza, the cobb salad, and the fish tacos. I will say for having "roni" twice in the name, they could throw some more on top of the pizza. Regardless, the dough is perfect every time and we always get it with a side of the spicy ranch. Tidbit!!! Trust Google Maps when it tells you to walk out onto the water to get to this brewery. There is definitely a walkway. And the brewery is worth it. We came here for the beers, as we saw a ton of options on their menu and we were delighted with all the options. It was also fun adding a sugar rim to a pumpkin beer. Our beertender was excellent and super attentive, as our visit was a late Friday afternoon without a game at TD Garden (and we suspect that this is a great spot for folx to gather). When we arrived, I was really excited to try this bar. Unfortunately that's where the excitement ended. We sat at the bar and It took a solid 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Fun place to grab drinks with a larger group if you're in the neighborhood. I'm not a beer fan so can't comment on the selection but my cocktail (some sort of fall drink) was good and strong. Maybe it was the buzz or a post-skating hunger, but the Detroit-style pepperoni pizza with spicy honey really hit the spot. Crust was crispy, good abundance of pepperoni, and shout-out to our lovely bartender for getting us a little cup of honey to dip on the side. The Caesar salad was also particularly well done, i.e., not just sad wilted lettuce but also kale and spinach in there, actual shavings of Parmesan instead of the shredded stuff that comes from a bag. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and would come here again just for that. Bathrooms are clean and plentiful! Always a good sign in my book. Wow. Come here. Just come here. As a huge sour fan, I was immediately delighted to see five of them on the menu. The fuego mango had a mild spice and had a great blend of sour and sweet, and the jammin weisse was similarly enthralling. We started with the pretzel, which had a savory cheese sauce alongside it. It was light and airy with the perfect amount of salt. And subsequently the standard Detroit style pizza was one of the best I've had. The crust was crispy but not too greasy, and the sauce on top had a good mix of salty and sweet. Our server was also attentive and helpful, able to explain the various food options. Night Shift is one of my favorite local breweries. Great variety of beers with fun names and can packaging. This location is clean and spacious with plenty of seats at the bars and tables. There are several TVs at the bar so this is a great place to have a drink and watch a sports game. During my last visit I had the Ritzy AF (golden ale with toffee, salty crackers, and vanilla) and Hockeyeast Ale (fruity beer with orange zest and lychee) and I enjoyed both. I like how they organize the beers into categories with flavor descriptions. I was also offered a sample of a beet before I ordered a full glass so don't be afraid to ask to try something. Some of the beers are taproom exclusive which is another good reason to come here. They also have wine, cocktails, and mocktails for those who don't want beer. I ordered the Shifty pizza which had a nice balance of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. The pizza was very filling and made a great meal, but it would also be nice to share. Decent spot near TD garden with great harbour views and nice decor, good beer selection, so-so good. Atmosphere/ambience: fairly sleek modern hipster decor inside. Nice open layout. Visually appealing but comfortable. All genders restrooms en masse with separate private stalls. Decent sized bar area rectangle with lots of chair seating to far back. Service: always someone at the front to greet and direct traffic. Bar tenders can get a tad busy since mostly a brew-heavy place but very friendly and accommodating. Mostly recent trip kitchen shutdown at 8:15pm, so don't get too focused on your beer without ordering grub. Food: appealing on menu but often a little off in preparation. Case in point last visit was a very dry over friend chicken sandwich, over cooked bacon on it, hard to bite through. Same with friends. Can't remember the last time it was so difficult to crunch on some fries. Drink: nice beer selection. Online not always as up to date as what's available in person. Classics and experimental from the Nightshift inventory. Okay prices for beer that should persuade folks going to TD garden to avoid the heavy trafficked areas across the street and walk an extra block for better brew at similar price. Price: as above. Came here on a Wednesday evening for an earlyish dinner and the space was very empty - they had a huge amount of tables and the place had barely any other parties so it felt very open and not lively, but was clean and spacious nonetheless. Service was okay - food and drinks came out at a good speed, but our server rarely came down to see or check on us which wasn't great, especially when we needed water or the check. Pizza was yummy, but super expensive for the portion size. It definitely wasn't worth it. Fries were nice though and I thought the size was fair. Drinks were good as well, just not super memorable as I don't recall how my beer was at all. Located on the wharf close to TD Gardens. The brewery is super bright and fun inside. There is a ton of seating inside and an outdoor patio area. We opted to sit at the bar as we only wanted a drink. The service here was not that great. Our server was very rude and unfriendly. She was not helpful at all and it came across as if we were an inconvenience to her. We tasted many beers before trying to select one. We tried the Tuscania, Kolsch Encounters, and Garden Party. None stood out to us so we just settled for a safe wheat one, fruity with a booty. It was ok. We quickly drank and left. They can do a "flight" for you, which are two 4oz pours but the prices vary based on the beer you want. I liked the location--right by TD Garden, so it was easy to eat there and see the concert, and also in such a pretty place -- looking out over the Zakim Bridge and the water. Gorgeous. The service was very attentive. . . I enjoyed that my friend could have a delicious fruity sour beer, my other friend a moscow mule, and I could get a seltzer with a splash of juice. Sometimes it's water or beer, but I appreciated the array of options. Food was on point. We got an array of apps (wings, truffle fries, buffalo chicken dip) -- everything was rich, tasty, and substantial portions. Some comments were a wetter rub on the wings would be nice. We liked that they added chili seasoning to the tortilla chips. Everything was piping hot and easy to share. I was going to go with a salad, but we shared pizzas -- glad we didn't go the skinny route because the deep dish pizzas were SO good. They were on like a focaccia base. So good. A frustration that I have is that over the years, the pizza has gotten smaller and smaller to the point that there are now only 6 pieces per pizza. How does a party of 4 share that? It started out the entire size of the pan, then just a cooling rack fitted inside of the pan, and now only 3/4 of that. If you're with a group, you're better off buying full pours and sharing them as a 4 oz pour is half the price of an ENTIRE pour (12oz or 16 oz). Silly. I ordered a pretzel and rosemary truffle fries. I liked the fries better, but I'm a sucker for a pretzel. It's giant, like the menu says. The cheese included was just okay- not a lot of flavor or enough for the amount of pretzel you get. Fries definitely had good flavor, though. And definitely sharing size. So many dries! Anyway, the Hefeweizen was easily my favorite of the ones I tried. I'm not a huge fan of hoppy beers, but they had quite a few of those available. A very nice date spot on the water so I could enjoy the sunset on the Charles behind the zakim bridge. I like the walk over here from the lechmere area. I liked going to get ice cream right over the river in Charlestown after. We saw a blue heron on the new bridge on our walk home. Only half of the bridge is built for pedestrians at this time, but it was still a pleasant journey. Staff was helpful but a bit disorganized and didn't know who was at what table. I was super bummed to find Night Shift to be pretty much a total letdown. I've had their Nite Lite lager before, and I enjoyed it, so I was really excited to check out some other beers by them. I was visiting friends in Boston for the weekend, so we made our way to the North End to pay a visit. We didn't have a reservation and it was busy since it was a rainy Saturday. We got on the wait list for a table and in the meantime were offered a counter ledge, which worked for us. Our server was deliberately miserable. I am usually pretty understanding when it comes to service workers, being that I work in customer service myself, but her level of blatant apathy, disdain, and irritation couldn't have been any more palpable. Like it or not, that does rub off on a patron's experience. We didn't do anything to deserve that energy. I asked if they offered flights or half-pours. Nope. My friend asked for advice on a good IPA. She answered with the name of one, that was it, no reasoning. Since they didn't offer any sort of taster, all three of us ended up with full pours of drinks we did not like at all. One friend got a hard seltzer can that tasted like cough syrup. My friend's IPA (Fluffy) was pretty foul, and my sour was just okay. We ended up cashing out after our round and moved elsewhere. Night Shift was the only miss that weekend. :-( read more

Went to this location during the 4 nations hockey tournament, which is very close go the Td Garden. Came with 3 others and had a great time. Fun atmosphere with a big bar and tables surrounding. It was busy with sports minded people and the music was pumping. Had the cinnamon churro beer, which was absolutely fantastic along with a couple of the Detroit style pizzas. Tried the Roni Roni and the 87 braised pork pizzas. Both are individual sized and easy to share. The pizzas and beer at this establishment were great and I will definitely return. read more

I came to Night Shift for an event after work. They sectioned off a small section with tables and bar access. I'm not a big fan of beer, but I tried a few of the wines - pink prism, brut fizzylifter, and rose fizzylifter. All of them were delicious, but I especially enjoyed the sparkling ones! There was a spread of appetizers available, but I'd say come here more for the drinks than for the food. A lot of the apps were too greasy for my taste (the chicken sliders and soft pretzels), but the salads were a good option for something fresh. In terms of vibes, the space was great and didn't feel too stuffy. I think this is a better spot to meet up with friends or coworkers, but I wouldn't come here for a date. More of a weeknight spot than a weekend spot if I had to choose. I'd consider coming back to grab a quick drink before going to a game at TD. read more

As a native Detroiter, I believe Night Shift is the #1 spot for Detroit Style Pizza. We accidentally stumbled in on a Celtics game day & were provided with an anticipated 30 minute wait for two. After about 15-20 minutes we were seated at a community style high-top, typical for a brewery. A sour and two stouts were ordered alongside with our pizza. For the three beers and the pizza, I was pleasantly surprised by a roughly $57 check! While the pizza portion is smaller, you can't beat it! I am doing 4 stars because we absolutely love this establishment and frequent it but had a really subpar experience tonight. The drinks are great, food is usually amazing, but the service was really lacking aside from the one bartender with the hanging earring who went above and beyond. We ordered a standard pizza to go (our usual) and what we received was legit thin crust compared to what we were supposed to get (Detroit style). At first I assumed it was because we ordered at 7:30 PM, but a woman whose pizza came out 25 min after ours was as usual and perfect looking. I can only guess someone no showed a to go pizza and they reheated and gave it to us which is lame as hell. The dough was flat, stale, and disgusting. I tried the 87 beer, there beers are $7-$9 for a 12 ounce pour which seems the going price these days, but a little disappointing as the beer was just okay. I ordered the wedge salad with added chicken and we also wings and fried pickles for the table, which are a house specialty. The portions here are huge and the food was pretty good. They actually need to reduce the portions or get bigger plates as the salad was hard to eat. My slightly lower than perfect score is due to the chicken (a on the salad) did not taste freshly cooked, maybe reheated, and the beer was not great.
