A north end FAVORITE. I love thinking cup, as does anyone in the neighborhood. The cafe itself has a very rustic vibe to it, and I love that the table tops have that newspapers under the glass. It makes it fun if you're sitting down. I've gotten food here before but I wouldn't say that their food is my favorite (although it is really good, I just like some other spots a bit more for breakfast). Their coffee is outstanding though. I myself rarely have just cold brew. I like a foam, I love a dessert drink. But their honey cinnamon cold brew....out of this world. It is my go to every time. I've tried their lattes and they are fine, but you're missing out if you don't try their cold brew. Their hot chocolate in the winter with the macadamia milk is also exceptional if you aren't a coffee person. The service is always pretty quick, while there might be a line it does move fast and they get drink orders out quickly. The staff is also always really nice and helpful. The price is on par with the neighborhood. Love thinking cup and have been back + will continue to go back many more times! read more

I ordered a honey cinnamon iced latte and thought it had the perfect amount of sweetness. The coffee shop has seating in the front and the back. It's a great place to meet up with friends or get some work done. They also had some pastry items and sandwiches. The employees were friendly and kept the line moving quickly. Definitely give this a shot if you're in the area. read more

Really cute spot! Definitely gets crowded fast, but if you snag a table it's a good spot to sit and enjoy coffee. I tried the brown sugar cardamom latte and liked it a lot. The cardamom flavor was very subtle and the brown sugar made it perfectly sweet. read more

Super cute and solid spot for breakfast and coffee! We stopped here in the morning before exploring the freedom trail and north end. Super cozy, albeit a teensy bit cramped (strollers users be aware). Service was great; they answered all my questions and double checked that the gluten free bread was also dairy free--it was! I got a breakfast sandwich without cheese and my husband got it as is. We also got a ham and cheese brioche bun for our toddler. I enjoyed my sandwich, the bacon was super tasty and cooked perfectly. My toddler ended up enjoying our eggs and bacon as well; my husband liked the brioche bun. Our coffee was good as well; I got a vanilla oat latte half sweet and he got an iced americano. Everything was great and it was a wonderful start to our day. Would for sure come back! read more

I was walking around the North End and in need of a caffeine fix, so I ducked into the Thinking Cup, a cute cafe that offered loads of seating. It might not have looked like much from the outside, but the space went back very far. My companion grabbed a seat at one of the many tables, while I went up to the lengthy counter and ordered a regular hot coffee. The coffee seemed to be a medium brew and offered more fruity notes than chocolate ones, so it was not my favorite, but it did the trick. The place also had loads of food items and a variety sweet treats that even included vegan options. The Thinking Cup seemed like a great spot for locals to get some work done or for tourists to take a break from the neighborhood crowds. read more

I forgot to take photos but what a great cafe! I've been to Thinking Cup at other locations but this one was just as awesome. I love the variety of flavors for lattes and food. It was 5 degrees outside and i had to warm up with a honey cinnamon latte, amazing (as always). They also have gluten free tiramisu and i think i shed a few tears of happiness. I miss the taste of yummy desserts before going gluten free and this is the real deal. Everytime I'm in the area i will now be getting it! read more

Cute no complaints I just don't give 5 stars unless a true walk on water experience. In Boston as a tourist and I just picked a random spot.....not a chain. Small with limited seating but I didn't have trouble with dining in for breakfast. Lots of yummy pastries. Responsibly sourced options. I had the veggie quiche with coffee. It was served on an actual plate with an actual coffee mug and they even had REAL cream . Everything was good.....I remembered to take a picture. The gentleman who waited on me was helpful and polite. Dunkin' Donuts and McDonalds are on the same block. Treat yourself to some better quality food. read more

5/5 - absolutely loved! I am picky with my coffee, especially cold brew and syrups, but decided to try the cold brew with honey cinnamon and it was SO GOOD. Light and full of flavor. Just perfect. I got a lemon poppyseed scone and it was the best scone I ever had. Not dry at all and so delicious. Staff was nice and quick. read more

In the North End, there are options other than Italian for the residents. The Chinese takeout spot, China House, closed in 2022, leaving Billy Tse to feed the appetite within their borders. Across the street from where Cambodian sandwich shop Suasday, which opened mid 2022, once stood lies local coffee chain and purveyor of Portland, Oregon based Stumptown Coffee, Thinking Cup. It is a handicap accessible storefront, more deep than wide, with available seating throughout. Those having pre-ordered may head out back to see if it is ready and waiting. But otherwise it will be a tempting walk past the pastry case to get to those who are ready to take your order. Not everything available on site can be ordered via Square (https://thinking-cup-hanover.square.site/), for instance, I spied cannoli shells in a glass jar on the counter, terrific looking berries bread pudding and colorful macarons in the case, which were sadly not listed on Square. We have, however, sampled a number of their offerings over several visits. We found that we preferred the thick whole wheat chocolate chip cookies over the sea salt chocolate chip, primarily because we found it a bit less sweet. The peanut butter cookies are good. The eclairs were huge and light. Their blueberry cornmeal cake was soft and tasty. The ham and cheese brioche was light in bread and in ham - the ham bits were studded lightly within - fine for me with its light savory flavor profile, but perhaps disappointing to a true carnivore. My favorite so far is their light and generously topped fruit tart, 4 inch in diameter with a tender crust and their almond croissant. *** Their heirloom tomatoes crostada was a fine savory option with surprise corn kernels tucked in. While their berries bread pudding was a fine moist eggy treat, yet surprisingly light. read more

I was looking for a place to relax a bit, hop on wifi to get a bit of work done, and get a decnt latte. Latte is fine. No wifi, tho, and the oitlet didn't work. The tables were a bit dirty for a slow time of the day. =( A bit dark in the back portion. A lot of potential tho to make this a happening spot. read more

This coffee shop is ADORABLE! What a perfect stop for a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. The inside was very clean and there were plenty of tables to sit at while we had our drinks. The service was very quick and the staff was friendly. I got a hot vanilla latte with oatmilk and it was DELICIOUS. One of the better special coffee drinks I've had in a while. My friend got an iced matcha latte with soy milk, which was very earthy. I'm not a huge fan of matcha, but if you enjoy matcha drinks that aren't very sweet I would definitely recommend getting one from here. I will be going again next time I'm in Boston! read more

Beware the wrath of the management.... I've visited this café many times, and while the food and coffee are consistently good, the management is consistently not. When a "Latte" was called out--with no name attached--I picked it up, as only a few people were waiting and no one else claimed it. It turned out to be someone else's drink, and instead of handling it professionally, the manager shouted my name across the café and demanded I return it, even though I had already started drinking it. He then publicly berated me for not waiting for my name, despite never having used one for that order. Even if I picked up the wrong drink, there is no excuse for that kind of treatment. read more

We chose this place because it was close to where our tour started. Food and drinks were good - nothing great but not terrible. The girl taking our order was not friendly at all - she either hates her job or just doesn't have a service-minded personality. Either way, it turned us off from this place. read more

This chain served up a robust cup of coffee with a nice selection of baked goods. They also had beans from one of my favorite roasters. A long shop with lots of seating but it can get a bit loud. With only window on one end there is not much natural light. read more

Quick coffee and cannoli while in the little Italy Thinking Cup is a great option worth checking out. Cozy and dimly lit. Service was decent but not overly friendly and the seating limited. This was my first time trying the "Thinking Cup" chain in the Boston city. I was not very impressed. I ordered an iced latte with extra milk, and when I got my order I was not satisfied with the amount of milk. My coffee was very dark, and I politely told the barista that it was not exactly what I had ordered. She asked me what I ordered, and after I explained she stood there staring at my drink and didn't offer to remake it. I said it was okay but was a little surprised. She then pointed at the table across the room with to the stand with the cream/milk and told me to do it myself. I am a very understanding customer, but it was a bit surprising. It's not my favorite situation when I have to make my own drink at a cafe :( read more

My mother and I stopped here for a quick breakfast before heading back to CT. They have a variety of pastries, breakfast sandwiches and gluten free options. I went with an iced latte, BALT sandwich, berry financier and tiramisu. Mom went with a latte and Smoking Jamaican breakfast sandwich. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, lattes and tiramisu. The berry financier was a little dense but pretty good. Overall service and food were good. We enjoyed it, and I would check them out again. read more

A little late on this review from the Boston trip, but I wanted to follow a terrible experience with a positive one, and Thinking Cup mornings linger in my brain. Was there a Starbucks in our hotel? Yes. But no one was rushing and life is too short for corporate coffee. We ducked in here out of the rain on a cold mid-morning. It wasn't packed and it looked like a local's spot, people were settled in. A group of (I assume) retired men in the corner having a spirited catch-up. Accents abound (love that). A barista wearing a Nosferatu shirt. It's the little things, y'all. I hate when people say anything is a vibe but I will and it was. Is Cozy AF a thing? Old newspaper/historical decor and calming colors juxtaposed with the huge board of gluten-free offerings (to me GF is more now than then). To be fair, the list was written on a chalkboard which worked well. Non-robotic friendly staff for the win. They have a great menu to suit any taste. Plus, their own pastry chef and house made syrups! For me, always a keto latte and they do it well. We had breakfast sandwiches once and they hit the spot. Each time we stayed longer than we planned. Apparently during one visit, I'd purchased a large peanut butter chocolate rice krispie treat. Found it in my bag at about 3AM after a night out. It was amazing and I will never forget it. I loved my quick visit to the Thinking Cup! As my husband and I were visiting historic sights along the freedom trail, we needed somewhere to stop for a quick caffeine boost and to get some work done- Thinking Cup was exactly what we needed! I ordered a Honey Cinnamon latte, which was both beautiful and so good that it converted my usually coffee-hating husband. Service was fast and so friendly - our barista was super sweet and I enjoyed chatting with her for a few minutes. The shop itself is quiet and peaceful, enabling us to and get some remote work done before heading back out. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Boston. read more

What a cute and quant coffee shop that offers a variety of coffee and drink offerings. They have a really long dinig area that cannot be noticed just by looking at the front of the establishment. The service is amazing and really gets to know you. I came in during lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and it was packed. Quick friendly service. You order at the counter and grab a table while you wait for your coffee and food. They have a nice selection of food options. The cappuccino was very good. I ordered the spinach and mushroom quiche. It was very tasty. Nice layers of vegetable with the cheese and egg. The only problem was it wasn't heated all The way through. Some bites were cool which was unfortunate because it was flavorful. I did love that it was served with an arugula salad. That was fresh and very tasty with a nice lemony vinaigrette. Great little bakery/coffee bar located in the North End. As soon as you walk in you are met by the sweet smell of baked goods and fresh roasted coffee. It gets super crowded the morning we went . The line did go fast which was good because it gave me time to know what I wanted. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I got a iced vanilla coffee. They gave it to me black and then you head over to the coffee station and add cream and sugar if you want to. I got a birthday macaroon for My daughter. They were good and soft! The bagel is soft and chewy and the egg is nicely cooked. The bagels are cut in half so you can make sure the first bite has everything you ordered. There's plenty of seating around the market if you want to enjoy your bagel, or keep it wrapped in your bag for on the go.

Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about the concept of ripping the bagels and dipping it into the cream cheese, but I actually ended up preferring it - less messy and more cream cheese per bite. You won't be disappointed but if you're expecting something life changing (based on the hype) I think you'll be disappointed. I went close to when they open at 7 and waited less than a minute at most.

In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.

I really loved all of the bowls I've tried but my favorites are probably the Sake Aisuru Don and Kuromon Don. I just prefer more salmon to more tuna though, and they're all very good! Food: - Sake Aisuru Don: their classic all-salmon bowl! I loved the larger cuts of salmon, and I was pleasantly surprised that even the more pulverized salmon was flavorful! - Kuromon Don: loved the yellowtail in this! Each fish comes with two pieces (except the mackerel for which there are four), and I liked the sampler style for the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and izumidai. - Maguro Toro Don: so much tuna! And all such high quality. The otoro was so fatty that it practically melted in my mouth without chewing. - Sake Maguro Hamachi Don: a mix of salmon, blue fin tuna, and yellowtail. I liked the yellowtail in this a lot and found that it stood out the most from the other two fish in this particular bowl!
