We walk in 5 minutes before closing and the guy worker throws up his hands upset that we walked in and stomps through the back door. The lady at the cashier also has a disappointing face that we walked in and she also walks through the back door. Wow- how much this Cherry Orchard Starbucks has changed. I remember the old location, which is now a bank, and this current location was the old C.J. Olsen Farmhouse/Market place, when I was a little girl. I liked the old location with their iconic black and white Sunnyvale orchard pictures of the farm and landscape. Granted this place had a huge lobby area as well as a small outside patio area to enjoy one's starbucks drink. I did a mobile order since I was at Trader Joe's and my order was ready on time and the baristas greeted me as I walked in. I really liked their retail wall/display case- it was bright and cheerful! This is my favorite Starbucks in the area. They are more consistent at making drinks here than at some of the other locations, and they also get the orders correct. I have been known to drive to this location -- while passing by 5 other Starbucks along the way (3 actual stores, 2 inside Safeways) -- to pick up my drink. They're that good and worth this effort! They used to be located at the other end of the shopping center, by Mathilda, where Patelco Credit Union is currently located. Then they moved, taking over CJ Olsen Cherries' location on the El Camino side. I miss the old location, however, the newer location is a bit larger. It offers more space for people to stand/wait for their drinks. Instead of separate men's & women's restrooms, they now have 4 gender-neutral restrooms and a common restroom sink area. The downside to the sink being outside the bathroom stalls is that the noise from the hand dryers can be heard in the seating area. Many of the newer (or renovated) Starbucks locations are moving toward this bathroom design. The wifi connection & speed sucked when they first opened at the new CJ Olsen location (before the pandemic). It was so bad that people could not do any work on their laptop or phone. I'm sure many people created their own hot spot to get work done on their laptop (or used their own data to browse the internet on their phone). And this problem went on for quite a while (many many months!). However, post-pandemic, I am happy to report that wifi has since been fixed and is now a usable high speed. . read more

Basically, it was the most-productive arable land on the planet, full of fruit trees that would never stop growing the best produce you could imagine. I came in on 6/13/24 between 4-5pm. I had a really rough day at work so I went to get myself a treat to feel better. The 2 women working were great! The woman who took my order was nice and prompt. The other woman who made my iced soy matcha latte blended it ever so slightly which made it all combined and mixed. No one has blended it like that before. We were at this Starbucks yesterday. My companion and I ordered mocha with almond milk and soy milk respectively. When we got our beverages, they both contained whipped cream. When I took the drinks to the counter to be replaced, I was asked by the attending barista if she could scoop out the whipped cream instead of making new ones. I said I would prefer them to be remade. At that point, she asked me if I specified that I did not want whipped cream when I ordered them. I said no. She then proceeded to make me new drinks not without first giving me a mini lecture about having to mention it at ordering if I did not want whipped cream in the future, since their default for making mochas was always to add whipped cream. Is adding whipped cream to all mochas standard practice at Starbucks as stated by the barista? Whipped cream is milk based. One should reasonably assume that a customer has milk intolerance to be requesting non-dairy creamer for any drinks. Why would adding whipped cream be a default for any kind of non-dairy drinks??? read more

This was definitely one of the most spacious starbucks I have seen. I came here on a Sunday morning and it was pretty packed with people chatting, reading, working, etc! It's definitely a great place work/study since there are lots of tables and outlets! We got a triple shot iced latte, which was good as usual! I love going to this Starbucks! Whenever I go in, service is quick and I get a drink in a few minutes. My coffee always tastes delicious and gives me the boast I need for my day. The inside of the restaurant is quite spacious and clean. Tables and chairs are nicely distanced. There are also a few tables and chairs outside. Location is convenient. I love how Sweetgreens is across the way. It is a busy shopping plaza so sometimes parking can be a challenge. read more

This is a a Starbucks that was moved from another building across the parking lot. I liked it there very much. Today I visited this new location to see about 10 people standing there and one or two people standing in what appeared to be a line. So I went there and waited for about 5 minutes and watched everyone in silence and nobody at the cashier or taking orders. Very strange to see. Since nothing was moving I decided to go. I'm very disappointed in the way this place was being run. Inefficient, disorganized and confusing. I'm definitely not going back and don't recommend this place. Poorly run. read more

This Starbucks happens to be in the same plaza as Trader Joe's. It's clean and has a nice outdoor seating area filled with greenery. The line can be a bit confusing when placing orders since the folks waiting for their mobile orders can sometimes look like they are also waiting to place orders in person. My husband happened to make an in person order rather than mobile ordering and he received his in person order much quicker than those waiting on mobile orders before we even showed up. Not a bad Starbucks but definitely have encountered better in the area. Parking in this complex during midday can also be a headache which is why we tend to avoid coming here. read more

I really wanted to like this Starbucks location. It's relatively new. I took pictures late in the day to see what it looks like when it's open and bright. Unfortunately during the day it's super crowded. The line was 15 minutes to get coffee. Not enough people working. Floors are filthy and need to be mopped. The window sills have food and sugar packets on them. A homeless person banging on the window outside. 3 people talking to themselves at tables with lots of baggage. And the supplier didn't show up so they are out of all sandwiches and most hot items. Trying to find a positive- the employees are nice. And it's open until 8 pm. I highly recommend to Starbucks to have an extra employee cleaning and wiping down tables and floors much more regularly. read more

I used to come to this Starbucks a lot in the past, nice ambience, but then the opening times turned bad: They were open only till 6 pm, which is ridiculous. Now they are till 7pm, which is still not good enough, not for how expensive they are (and how they nickle and dime you for everything extra like almond / soy milk) Remember, this is the central section of Sunnyvale with the most traffic, right next to a Trader Joes and close to downtown, this should definitely be open longer. For the last year, all my money is going to Panera, they got much better deals and opening times that rock: open till 9pm!!! Also, for 12 bucks or something you get as much coffee and drinks for a whole month, a super deal and soy and almond milk is free of charge, SELF SERVE (while last time I was in a Starbucks, they don't let you self selve yourself) I'm not happy with Starbucks, for how expensive they are they should do a lot better really! read more

For some reason giving extra half and half at this Starbucks in Sunnyvale, is against their policy. Apparently, spending $17 on 3 coffee!!! Does not buy you the ability to have more than a little measure of cream. What happened to the days where the canister was sitting on the counter for the customer to use? We now seem to have to get the baristas for a little more ... This is a sad state of affairs, when we pay $6 for a coffee and can't even have it our way. I've recently been coming to this location as an alternative to the other Starbucks I usually go to in this area. I tried to place an online order several times and kept getting a reading that said system error. I came to the location to ask what I was doing wrong and the guy at the door, I believe his name was Jay, told me to order from a different location. That was his way of solving the problem for me. Telling me to cancel my order and go somewhere else. Their drinks consistently taste good and I've never had an issue with this location before. Probably the worst Starbucks in the area. This is closest from my place so I drive here for convenience but the wait is longest. Not sure why it takes 15-20 minutes to make a simple drink. The staff keeps changing and keeps getting worse with bad, lazy attitude. Drinks quality has become systemically bad. I spent 6.50 (0.55 tips) on a venti caramel frappuccino and over the last month 1 out of 2 times they make really bad drinks and today they literally made a glass of crushed ice. The drink had no taste at all. I spent 6.50 for crushed ice with bad attitude, lazy staff and 15 minute wait time. I had decided 2 weeks ago to never go back to this place. I just left this store. They denied me my free refill which I am entitled to as a Starbucks customer with a gold card/app. They said that I would first need to finish my drink as it was their policy. WTF?? I got a Trenta drink - am I supposed to sit here for 5 hours to finish it? I sat for awhile and read my book, sipped on my drink. A TRENTA SIZE BEVERAGE IS ROUGHLY THE CAPACITY OF AN AVERAGE HUMAN STOMACH. I cannot finish that in an hour. I have NEVER heard of this before. I am calling customer service to complain. This is not written anywhere on the Starbucks website. I would have argued with them but honestly, I doubt they would do anything and I'd rather handle this with customer service. The baristas are unpleasant to deal with and I would NOT recommend this location. I have never encountered any Starbucks location that is so intrusive and questions whether or not I have finished my drink. I usually sit for awhile and work on my computer then take the refill to go. It's a generous perk and why I go to Starbucks to spend my money. Our drinks and food tasted right, the store looked clean, the register person was great, and they were fast, but the barista was standing next to another barista absentmindedly rubbing both sides of her nostrils with her fingers while talking to the other barista before she came and started making our drinks and food. I told the cashier that the barista had been rubbing her nose before making our food and the barista got mad and said she washes her hands every hour. I said, "You just touched your nose before you started making our food, are you aren't going to wash your hands now?" She said she didn't touch her nose. My husband also saw her touch her nose. He pointed it out to me. Instead of washing her hands she just got mad at us and said she would remake our sandwich since they use tongues to make our food, but she missed the point - that she also touches our cups and the lids to our cups (and everyone else's) and doesn't think about where she touches the lid to our cups or that her fingers are germy till the next hour when she finally washes them, if she washes them. She could have just washed her hands and then finished making our food since there is a sink right there but instead she denied touching her nose and got angry. I think this Starbucks is taller than it is wide, which means that the seating that is available all feels a little cramped. In addition, the upholstery is in dire need of a refurbish. The cushioned chairs in particular are super dinghy and I can only imagine what kind of activity they've seen over the years.
