I'm not sure why this Starbucks has lower stars because it's honestly the best. The staff are so kind, the drinks come out fairly fast (and when they don't it's because it's peak time, and they are busting their butts to get it done - there aren't many other Starbucks in the area), and the location close to all the highways is great. A few tables for meetings, which are never completely full, which is great. I wanted to particularly come here and give this location 5 stars because I was so tired from being up all night with my baby that I totally forgot I put the my coffee on the top of my car while getting the baby in her car seat that I drove off with the coffee on my roof. Splash, splatter, bye bye. I came back after dropping the baby off and told them what happened and they immediately said they would remake it no problem. I know this may sound like nothing, but it was so helpful and nice. Shout out to Jessica for turning my day around. I'm grateful for caffeine close by and for such friendly staff. read more

I placed a mobile order around 256 said my order would be ready by 305 or something like that, I got there around 310 my drink still still not made. I waited a while and finally got it but an iced drink in a hot cup..? I was confused. I asked for it to be remade because it was in a hot cup so I assumed it was hot, she got annoyed and then said there was ice in it... anyways | nicely asked for it to be remade because I'm suspicious about my coffee, I like it in a clear cup so see that it's made correctly. So she took quite a while to remake it and finally when she calls my name it's only half full. It was very frustrating because this whole situation made me late for work, I get this drink every morning and I've never had an issue before. I'm just not understanding why they put my drink in a hot cup and took soooo long to remake it and only half full..?! Outrageous. Good morning to my home town 1st original Starbucks on 88th and Washington! Thank you for sharing my exciting Yelp nomination news and comping my Peppermint Mocha today. I'm usually not a gal that does coffee check ins because I'm I'm trying to find a place to park my semi truck instead of taking pics in the morning, but I truly owe this store and staff my gratitude for always putting up my morning diva BS when I'm in town. This Starbucks is straight up busy AF! I chose to come in today and not use the drive thru because I wanted to see all the Holiday items for sale. They were clearly already selling all full blown out Christmas menu and display. Damien and the staff was very happily friendly, smiling, amazingly quick and efficient. And that's all that matters to me!! I'm going to definitely recommend this Starbucks if you want reliable, quick an easy way out. They had just a little selection of the Holiday goods. But I got what i came for plus 2 Christmas tree ornaments. I have collecting these ornaments since 2008 and have a separate little tree that I set every year. So it was fun to buy my ornaments at the same location since day 1. No matter what I will always return to this location for my morning addiction! read more

I'm not a huge SB but I definitely loved how quick they were able to fix my order when they realized someone took my drink. It was awesome to run into another Chiefs fan (sorry Broncos Nation, born and raised on their turf, but Broncs is my number 2 team :) ) while waiting for my drink to get replace. I have been to many Starbucks locations and this location is by far thee longest drive thru experience in Denver-Metro. I really do not understand why it takes 15+ minutes for a drive thru coffee. It happens EVERY single time I go. It's the closest to my house and I keep thinking "maybe this time will be better"...only to be let down once again. I stopped by the drive thru and ordered two caramel macchiatos extra hot and a chocolate croissant. They were not busy at all and we ended up getting one macchiato that was literally COLD and the other one was actually hot like we asked for but didn't even taste like a caramel macchiato. I've ordered this drink enough to know they mess it up and the croissant wasn't even warmed up. Lately the workers there always have an attitude or never have what you ask for. This is the slowest Starbucks on earth you can literally travel to another location and get your drinks quicker. Staff seems like it's inconsistent constantly changing and they must always have a rookie employee on the espresso machine. Ready to call corporate it's ridiculous how slow they are and it's not an excuse that they are busy because I've been to busy locations and got my drinks in a timely manner. My family and I went this morning to this Starbucks location. We've never had any problems with any other locations but we were really dissatisfied with the experience here. There was barely any drinks we could purchase as well as sandwiches. It was easier to ask what they had than to ask what they didn't have because of how many things they had ran out of. We ordered 5 drinks and 5 sandwiches, all of the sandwiches were really cold. This Starbucks gets busy! We had a few orders that were wrong but they handled it appropriately. The staff here is nice and they try their best to get orders out and make them well. Barista had great suggestions when I asked about trying something new (she was right - the sugar plum danish was amazing!). Everyone was VERY friendly, there's an upbeat atmosphere inside. They seemed to know a lot of folks names/usual orders - not something you see much of these days. Even though they were crazy busy, they still got my danish and coffee order out very quickly. There always seems to be a line for the drive-thru, but I see that as a good thing - they're doing something right to have that many folks returning. This is the only Starbucks in this particular part of Thornton. The employees are always friendly, and the drinks are always made correctly. However, even when there are 8 people working, the service is still slow. This has been the case for the 9 or so months that I've been coming here regularly. This isn't the location to visit if you're in any kind of hurry. I've waited in the drive-through line for as long as 20 minutes. Also be advised that it shares a parking lot with a Quiznos, a phone store, and a Taco Bell, so the parking lot often feels busy and cramped. read more

Worst Starbucks I have ever been to. First they were out of venti cups. Then I get my mocha but it took 20 minutes after that to get my boyfriends vanilla bean. Great location and great employees. Drive thru can be a problem, but I don't think people realize how crazy Starbucks is. If your in line and your 6 cars back, you can't get angry for it taking a little bit of time, people are very specific and they make sure they get it right. I get that this is a new Starbucks but come on... I can handle a little slow whatever. But we ordered 2 tall hot drinks and they handed us a venti iced coffee. They took it back and handed us one correct drink. My drink however was a venti, not a tall, no pumpkin spice flavor, not almond milk. I also asked for decaf but who knows if that's even correct. When I moved to the area I was quite pleased to find that there was a drive through Starbucks just up the road from me... and I was even more delighted to find a group of competent and courteous baristas! I pretty much order the same thing and over time the crew here has come to know my drink, which I appreciate and I almost always get it right. When there have been mistakes, they have been corrected with professionalism and attention to detail and it's never been a real problem. Once there was even a barista who made the order (she wasn't the one who took the order over the speaker) and saw it was me and was like, "Oh, they said milk and you get half and half, let me fix that." before she handed me the cup and corrected my order so that I didn't even have to complain :) I've been known to order my drink and then be "that person" sitting in the parking lot and using the internet and during these times I've never been bothered (as I have at *some* locations!!!) and refills were still allowed when I walked back in. When there was a string of robberies in the area one night, the baristas on duty even came out to warn me and tell me that I should probably pack up because it may not be safe. That's not to say the location isn't safe, it really is... but because of the unusual circumstances, I really appreciated the heads up. I mean, they didn't have to do that. They could have just locked the doors and waited for their police escort. but no, they came out, let me know. The crew here really takes care of me and my coffee... they rock! read more

I just spent 5$ on this iced green tea latte that for some reason is mostly foam. ??? And with only three ice cubes. I'm very confused about why there's foam to begin with. I order my mobile order for a drip coffee more than each 15 min early every time I order from them and it is rarely ready when I get there. The employees are rude and have no sense of urgency. Today I went in and there was no one in line ahead of me. It took 26 minutes for them to make my 5 drinks because there was only one person working on the order. The other employees weren't even helping him. Just standing around. Starbucks has always been well known for being fast a friendly but this one sure does give them a bad name. I go to this location because it's the closest one to my work. Their drinks are poorly made. Almost always the caramel macchiatos taste bitter as if they used a dead shot of espresso. Thornton, Colorado- I ordered a soy chai tea latte as I always do but today I was asked, " Would you like that hot or cold?" Since it's a hot summer day I opted for cold. For some reason I wasn't expecting ice in the beverage and I asked if it could be made without ice but still cold on future visits. The barista at the window said, "If you prefer no ice please let me take it out for you!" I smiled and told him not to worry about it, that I would dump a bit out, and next time I would adjust the order. He replied, "Really, it would be my pleasure to make this beverage just perfect for you. I insist!" I was impressed by his persistence and positive demeanor. This is the worst Starbucks I have EVER been to, and being a typical American, I visit a lot of Starbucks locations. They have never gotten an order right. Today, we watched drinks pile up while we sat at the drive up window for almost 10 minutes while our toddlers screamed their heads off. Nobody checked in with is, or even looked at us. We were finally acknowledged, and handed the wrong drinks twice. The window attendant proceeded to try to explain to another employee what happened while we continued to sit and wait.
