Thought I'd stop by here to pick up something cool and refreshing for my darling wife - A "pink drink" - I recalled that it was something that she wanted to try. I pick it, before picking my wife up, then head out towards Oro Valley and stopped in the parking lot of a new restaurant we wanted to try. Before I could get outside and place an order, my wife tells me "Honey, look at this..." I then take a look - her "pink drink" Should have been called "green fungus cooler", as the strawberries provided were overripe, decomposing, and Riddled with green, gray and blue penicillin... I always order mobile order from here. The staff is always super amazing. When I walk in they know my name. They are super quick for all the shortages and stuff they are dealing with. Right now it's about the drive-through and it can be busy and there's usually a line but it moves along pretty well. Upsetting Experience with the marketplace Starbucks which we have gone to many times. The lobby was closed before the posted times. After COVID, we've noticed it's become harder and harder to get service. We attributed it to staff problems which everyone is experiencing but we have seen them close early more than once. We are also dedicated customers and this is not the model that Howard Schultz envisioned. We could not go to the lobby so my husband ordered through the drive-thru. He always orders a side of milk if it's in the drive-through and when you cannot serve yourself under the Covid rules. The milk was not Enough to put in his coffee, as we always pay for an extra shot in plus room and then he adds whole milk. When we pointed it out they said oh they were only allowed to give 4 ounces and it would be extra for more. We said that doesn't look right. by the way it was only 1/ third of the cup if that maybe it was only 2 1/2 ounces and we know what it looks like because we cook. But that's really not relevant to customer service. The second employee popped up and said he measured 4 oz which was a baldfaced lie. At that point my husband says you can keep your coffee and I placed it back on the shelf. He was still talking about his opinion on the whole situation. Not only did they laugh at us and roll their eyes but then they shut the window and continued mocking one of your customers with impunity. We're buying a five dollar coffee and you're quibbling over how much cream or milk, we're going to add to it? If these were my employees they would be fired on the spot or undergo a customer relations class taught from the founders perspective. read more

Huzzah! We got another Starbucks on the South Side! Thank goodness, because the Irvington location, despite the recent upgrade (which is beautiful and was hugely needed -- yes, yes) is frighteningly overstuffed. This location is beautiful and bright. New feel for sure. ...but it does seem to have what looks to be some sort of fruit fly infestation. Anyway...thanks be to the builders -- they had the good sense to point the windows in the direction of the mountains. So, on a clear day, you can see a bit of the Rincon Mountains from your seat near the front of the house, which is a wonderful motivation for us students, writers and general creative types who would rather be outside hiking, walking, camping, playing in some water... ...oh, but no! Decided to go for advanced studies, eh? Wanted a Ph.D., eh? Well, no mountains, hills, water and butterflies for you! *heavy panting* So, yes -- lovely location. And ample seating. Literally dozens of seats here. I love the mix, too. In addition to patio seating, you have the community-style table, and also individual tables throughout. There is also bar-style seating. This may be my new go-to place to study! read more

Awesomeness! Another Southside Starbucks near Costco. Unfortunately you have to drive into the Tucson Marketplace to a little strip mall on the Left side near the Costco, but it has a long drive thru, large interior and exterior seating area. It is Brand new. Here's a tip: When you drive into the Marketplace you can see the back of the strip mall and see how long the line is so you can decide to park or do the drive through. When you pull in the Starbucks is on the Left side of the strip, but the drive thru is on the far Right side. I do like the large interior and exterior, some Starbucks can be so cramped, the parking is sufficient as well. Since it is NEW, the lines are getting long in the morning. There's something wrong about this store's operation. There were five team members and they all seemed to be busy. And I get it. What I don't get is for the store to run out of drip coffee with two machines available. One of them said to me they've been pretty busy but offered to rebrew OLD coffee for me. I wasn't told at the cashier there was no coffee ready and might take a few minutes to brew a fresh batch. When the same person brought the coffee to the pickup counter she didn't say anything like sorry for the wait. If there was a manager here s/he'd make sure everything's ready no matter how busy it gets. read more

Short version: This Starbucks is terrible. You're better off finding a different location. Long version: I never thought I'd have to write a negative review on a simple iced tea order, but here it is. I sat thru the drive-thru and ordered a black iced tea with no water or sweetener. Got the drink, drove off and realized I got an Arnold Palmer. Yeah it's annoying, but mistakes happen. I drove back, got in line and told the person up front I received the wrong drink in the drive thru. Instead of just making me a new one, they decided to get the gal who originally made my drink to come help me. I realize now that it was at this time that I entered THE TWILIGHT ZONE. She remembered me from the drive they and asked why I came back. I let her know I that I just wanted a black iced tea and not a tea mixed with lemonade. She seemed annoyed with my request and then started grabbing a bunch of different items and asked I wanted lemon in the tea again??? No, black tea only please. I was patient with her through this whole process, but this barista seemed pretty frustrated with me for not being an Arnold Palmer fan. She was slamming stuff around. When she finally served up my drink (which really as simple as pouring pre-made tea on ice) she mumbled: "Have a nice day yesterday" and quickly started to walk off. I quickly launched back with "Excuse me? Did you really wish me a good day YESTERDAY? Really, I was more curious as to how what she said could be construed as an insult, but alas she pretended like she never said it. Whatever, I had my tea finally. I took a big victory sip and tasted the leftover chai spice from the dirty container they obviously reused for the black tea. I knew there was no hope in getting it right at that point, and just fled the battlefield uncaffeinated, but fully inspired to write this long post. Basis for my rating: I think taking 4 stars off for screwing up my order, having a garbage attitude and not using clean containers is fair. read more

Terrible staff and coffee at this location. 30 min to get a nitro cold brew. Ordered online... went to the bar 10 min after order to ask, and was told it was being made. 20 min later still no Nitro. This Starbucks isn't too bad, but sometimes they take too long even when there's no one there. I went the other day around 5pm, NO one was in the store or drive-thru, asked for a shaken brown sugar espresso and waited for like 15 mins for my drink, and not just i waited for 15 mins, they didn't even make my drink right. Maybe it is the volume of traffic, but this SBUX seems habitually backed up and just hanging on by fingernails. The staff is friendly which is great, and they make up wrong drink orders but a stop here isn't a 5 min quick in and out. It's an ordeal. Even if you mobile order and show up at the approximate availability time, you are still waiting upwards of 10 minutes. It's like the bar needs to be bigger, with less seating because nobody wants to hang around and add a few team members. Maybe a visit from the process folks would help. read more

I hate that this is the closest Starbucks to my house. Either they can't read or you refuse to listen,for some reason extra almond milk means I want a black iced coffee. This little gem is situated in the Tucson marketplace center which is nestled between Kino Pwy and Park Ave. I work in South Tucson and always wished there was a Starbucks or dunkin donuts near by.
