So I never ever go to this Starbucks and now I can confirm why. "Cayla" was one of the worst interactions I think I may have ever had with a Starbucks employeee and I go everyday. Literally , every single day, she was rude as ever. She had a terrible attitude and she rushed my order through,continuously interrupting me and being rude and I ended up paying for something that I never even got on my coffee. Listen, I'm coming from a spot where I've worked in the service industry as a bartender and server for 24 plus years. You work at a coffee place, where honestly, she probably deals with grumpy people from the jump and everyone has sucky day but come on, man. Worst. Service. Ever. From the fact that they open at 4:30 in the morning, to awesome baristas like Shy who helped me out tremendously early this morning (the card was not reading during the transaction), this location is now my go to coffee shop. The drinks are good, the sweetness levels can be adjusted, the classics are solid, and the service is honestly some of the best in Wilmington, especially for a drive-through. Thank you Shy!!!! Usually love this Starbucks. Not impressed with Theo. We were in his line and he decided to have a long conversation. Another worker had to jump in on another register. 5 people ordered in the time it took for him to be done chatting with his friends. The drink was amazing and the other workers were awesome. This Starbucks was good. It had ample seating and wasn't too busy. There were plenty of students working on their laptops. Ordering was uneventful. My friend got a White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino and I got Strawberry Starbucks Refresher. Both drinks were tasty and as expected. We stayed for about an hour and didn't feel any pressure to leave. Unfortunately this is not one of the better Starbucks I've been to. I waited 32 minutes for a Berry Hibiscus Refresher that I ordered (in person) at their front counter. It was a holiday and they were busy so we were all cutting them some slack, but even so, that was still far too long to wait for a drink that wasn't even a brewed beverage. There were other people there who had waited even longer than I did. Worse yet, I came back to the store the next morning as soon as they opened, and the same dirty floors and tables were there from the previous evening. Even the same cup of water was still on one of the tables from the night before. It was apparent they had not even wiped the tables down after they closed the night before - or before they opened for the day. And just for good measure, they got my order wrong on that second visit. Not sure who is managing this particular store but it is subpar. Even the parking lot had litter when I was there. read more

Just stopped by for our first holiday cup of coffee and was completely disappointed. I had a tall hot caramel brulee latte and it tasted like warm burnt milk. I truly believe there is no espresso in this drink. My wife got a short chestnut praline latte that tasted like straight espresso and water. Truly a sad start to our holidays. read more

I am a frequent flyer at Starbucks over off college and they are great! However, I was in the Mayfair area so I stopped over to this location. It was after dinner so I was the only car in the drive thru. It took 10 mins for someone to take my order. I pulled forward and it took 20 mins to not only have my drink made (a matcha latte) but for someone to even come to the window. The women finally came over and I noticed there was a card reader outside the window. I asked her if it was okay to put my card in. The employee replied "UM WHAT?" So I kindly repeated myself and let her know I just wasn't sure if I had the green light to put my chip in. The reply I got after that was "yeahhh". I was completely caught off guard because usually Starbucks has great customer service. If you have places to be in a certain time frame this is not the place to stop. read more

I ordered cheese danish and some drinks, the drinks were fine and the baristas was ok. I wanted my cheese danish to be heated, once I got my danish in a brown bag I went to my car right away and drove, when I ate some of my treat Before I realized that my cheese danish looked dirty it's almost like the cream cheese part is dusted with black powder, either they never clean their oven or they dropped the danish and continue to put it in an oven and gave it to me. I was so disappointed and had to throw it away, hopefully this won't happen again. read more

If you are in a rush, this isn't the Starbucks for you. Staff is nice enough, but have gotten 2 out of 3 orders wrong. And they are so SLOW. Parking is behind the store and usually busy with cars going in and out. This Starbucks never has a table available- lots of people use this store as their office. Visited this location twice and both times they were out of ingredients for my drinks. The first time they let me know ahead of making it, refunded me, and gave me an alternate drink for free. The second time the drink was made with no mention of the missing ingredient. When I questioned it, they acknowledged they were out of the ingredient but didn't offer to make it right. I used to go to Starbucks every morning. The baristas are always friendly and provide great service. One Starbucks rolled out their mobile app, however, I noticed that mobile orders are given priority over those made in the store. Not a huge deal, but when 6-8 mobile orders come in after I order my drink, and I end up waiting over 15 minutes, I end up being late for work. On two occasions I was actually waiting for such a long time I had to ask for a refund and leave without my drink. I stopped going in the mornings before work but still go every now and then on a weekend when not in a hurry. Sure wish Starbucks would treat their customers who are physically there in the store a little better instead of giving priority to anyone and everyone ordering from the app. read more

Similar to all of the other locations. I enjoy this one for it's friendly staff and lovely outdoor area. The coffee is a great pick-me-up while shopping in the area. Unlike the Starbucks in the book store, you can use the Starbucks card app on your phone at this location. read more

I'm not particularly happy with any of the Starbucks' (Starbuckses?) in Wilmington, but I find myself at this one more often than not. It has a bar with stools, 2 comfy chairs and 3 tables. Not a lot of indoor seating in the winter, but Mayfaire is essentially an outdoor mall, so lots of people are in and out. Great outdoor seating when the weather is nice. read more

This is probably the most average Starbucks in town. But that's not bad! The speed is what I would expect and the drinks are right there as well. I would say though, that these baristas are always so friendly! This is the only location though where they forget that ice tea comes standard sweetened. Just ordered my drink from a girl who was mopping the floor. She took my order, and my money and made my drink without washing her hands and put her entire hand all over the top of my cup. I went to the drive through and ordered and when I got to the window I looked in my purse for my wallet and realized it wasn't there. Flustered, I asked if I could use Apple Pay, and the cheerful barista said "Sure!" At that point I was so caught up in the fact that I forgot my wallet I couldn't remember how to make my Apple Pay work. After an embarrassing few seconds of struggling with my phone and I'm sure looking like my world was crumbling around me, the kind barista says "Don't worry about it, it's on us today." Thankful and mortified I pulled in the parking lot and got my Apple Pay to work, finally. I went inside and apologetically explained to a different barista what happened in the drive through, and told her I would like to pay for my beverage. The barista from the drive through "walkied" her over the headset and seemed to explain what had happened in the drive through. The woman I was speaking to smiled and said, no thank you, it's on us today! I asked please if I could pay (I don't normally struggle this hard in the mornings) and she said no, but I hope you have a great day! I left the Starbucks with my free beverage while everyone working said goodbye and to have a great day. I also work in customer service and all day I was reminded to be patient and forgiving of others because of the service I received that morning. With this being my neighborhood coffee shop, though I prefer non-franchises, I visit this place often. It has been polar ice temperatures in here for the last few weeks, the other regular customers and myself bring it big sweaters or jackets to hang out in while it is currently 70 degrees outside.
