I've lived in Court House for almost 5 years now and haven't had the opportunity to check out some…read moreof the local coffee shops, despite desperately wanting to. I knew Vinyl was around, and had been keeping an eye on their renovations in the main square. The end of last year required me to be out of state for a few months, so I completely missed the news that Vinyl had finally opened in their new location. I went this morning to check out the new space and try their coffee. Walking in, the place was cozy and quite busy for a Tuesday at 11am. The music combined with the soft chatter of the patrons gives off a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were lovely and kind. I commented that I'm happy to see the space open because I'd much rather give my money to a local place than spend much more for a chain-oriented spot. The ladies behind the coffee bar seemed genuinely thankful at that. I ordered an iced chai and an iced Broken Record, both with almond milk. Service was quick, the prices are reasonable, and the drinks themselves are delightful. I will definitely be making this a regular treat stop and hope to hang out for a jazz or trivia night soon.

I'm sitting in Vinyl coffee right now. Escaping the heatwave outside. Listening to amazing tunes…read moreand I think I've said approximately 18 times "this coffee is SO GOOD". Thank you Vinyl for giving us life today!

Bald White Guy Reviews: Two Scoops of Sugar 505 S Elm…read moreSt, Washington Court House, OH Drive-thru convenience + local charm = my kind of place. Once every month or so -- when the stars align, my work schedule gives me a break, and my willpower finally caves -- I treat myself (and my much more patient wife) to a little slice of happiness: One dozen glorious M&M Cookie One Butterscotch Scone (more on this masterpiece in a second) One cup of black coffee (because I'm old, and I like my coffee the way I like my humor -- strong, straightforward, and slightly bitter). This ritual has become a highlight for us. We've been coming here for years -- birthdays, special occasions, "just because" days -- and Two Scoops of Sugar has never let us down. The Cookies Their M&M cookies are the kind of treat that make you question why you ever settled for store-bought. Soft, chewy, and loaded with colorful chocolate goodness -- they're basically edible nostalgia. The Butterscotch Scone (aka: The Crown Jewel) Let's talk about this scone. Edges: perfectly crisp, with just the right golden crunch. Middle: warm, soft, and tender -- like a hug from the inside. Fresh from the oven. Flavor: rich butterscotch sweetness that somehow manages to be indulgent without being cloying. Honestly, it's kinda like me -- crispy on the outside, warm and soft in the middle. Location & Drive-Thru Magic Right in the heart of the business area of Washington Court House, with a drive-thru that makes grabbing your fix easy even when you're in a rush. No parallel parking acrobatics, no "just running in" that turns into 20 minutes -- just roll up, order, and roll out. The September 3rd News If you follow their Facebook page, you probably saw the September 3rd post announcing they'll be stopping baked goods. I'm not gonna lie -- this hit me right in the sweet tooth. Closing the bakery side is bad news for my taste buds... but probably great news for my A1C. Silver linings, I guess. The good news? They're still serving coffee and specialty drinks, and that's worth supporting. Local businesses like this are the heartbeat of our town. \ So even if I can't get my scone fix forever, I'll still be swinging by for my black coffee -- because supporting local matters. And because, well... I'm old and set in my ways Verdict: Two Scoops of Sugar isn't just a bakery -- it's a little piece of Washington Court House magic. Locally owned! Get there while you can for the baked goods, and keep showing up for the coffee after. Your taste buds (and your community) will thank you. "They say money can't buy happiness... but it can buy cookies, and that's basically the same thing." ‍‍‍‍ Bald Head Rating: 4 out of 4 -- worth every crumb. Only 4 because of my disappointment about stopping the baked goods. #TwoScoops #ShopLocal #WCHProud #HomeTown #ButterscotchScone #MMCookie https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61581041460641

Taylor's is a wonderful addition to the village. We popped in before a photo shoot we had scheduled to grab something warm while this Texas girl battled the frigid freezing temps. (Okay it was in the 30's this day but COME ON THIS IS COLD.) I enjoyed the large selection of drinks, but I opted for a hot chocolate. I know the shop is small- an indoor seating area would have been so nice on this very cold day. The employees weren't overly chatty, in fact I'm not sure they said much to us. I asked a couple of questions about their sugar free flavor options and they were answered. I don't expect to make my next best friend while ordering coffee but a little warmth goes a long way. Our photographer had scoped out the dome behind the shop and mentioned that those usually have a heater in them. We wandered back there and it was a super cute set up with blankets and pillows. The heater was there but I couldn't figure out how to get it on. The dome did help with the wind. Lovely coffee shop- glad Waynesville has one!
