The concept is great. I went there for 1 year. I did everything they said for 6 months. You know how much weight I lost in 1 year? 0lbs. The trainers pretend they care but I always had to reach out to them for updates, lab tests, etc. Also, they charge you without letting you know in advance. I again had to reach out and tell them "hey at least give me a heads up, it's a lot of money to just get charged rabdomly". When I quit no one reached out to me. Nobody cared but yet when I was paying they all loved me. I still one session but once my trainer found out I wasn't renewing he asked me if I could make my last session day a certain day, I said I couldn't, never heard again from him or anyone at Stark. Really disappointed considering how much money I spent on nothing. I would post a picture with my review but I'm still fat. read more

Awesome place to come get fit, learn about your nutrition and health. It's like a one-stop shop! They have a chiro on-site, a naturopathic doctor and fully knowledgeable trainers that almost become like family. I love how you get welcomed every time you walk in by the receptionist and the staff inside the gym. I also love how they do a complete blood panel and the most important thing I loved is the food panel which shows your sensitives. Great workout! Took the Met Con class with Geoff for our first class and even Nam loved it (and he hates group classes!). They are super duper nice from the moment you step through the doors to the moment you leave. I was excited to come here from the reviews, but it's a totally different feeling once you've actually taken a class. It's hard and you'll sweat, but it's fun! New to me were the sled pulls and battle ropes. Intense and I could definitely feel my muscles working! :) Geoff and the other instructors would watch our form and make sure we were doing things correctly. That's always a biggie for me because I don't want to injure myself working out, and hope the teachers are attentive enough to notice if I'm dong something wrong. After the class was over, Geoff showed Nam how to work with/flip Strongman tires. Really nice guy. We had Tyler another time and he killed us! Really challenging workout with a sled push relay to finish it off. Ahh! I couldn't walk after, but I definitely felt stronger and accomplished! :P Again, instructor was encouraging and pumped you up to work your best! I first heard about Stark from someone I have great respect for. Though I was in good shape before working with Stark (5 days a week at a fancy gym, 3 days with a trainer), I figured I would at least go check out their operation. I was immediately impressed with their attention to my specific goals, and current physical condition. There was some confusion on my appointment and it was canceled when I arrived... I was very upset! I emailed Dr. Todd and told him about my situation. He promptly emailed me back and apologized and asked if there was anything he could do to make it up to me. He listened to my complaint and treated me with dignity. They have a cryo machine to help with inflammation. they have a naturopath who puts you thru a ton of tests to help you out. They are legitimately a 360 degree experience. Dr. Jason Amstutz and his team completely set the bar for Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Treatment. I can honestly say I walk out of this office standing taller, more educated and always feeling better. Suffering with Scoliosis since a very young age has caused severe pain and alignment issues. Doctor Justin is great. He is very knowledgable and kind. He knows what he is doing. He employs active reflex therapy (I think that's what it's called) where they stretch the muscles while working on it. I have seen great improvement for my sore muscles from work and recommend him to a lot of people. If you have sore muscles do not hesitate to go to Doctor Justin. This place is great! The female trainer was professional, knowledgeable with a really positive attitude ( and this at 6AM in the morning.) Lucky for me on the day I went to class I just happen to be the only one to show up, so basically I received a personal training session. You might think that the trainer would of had a bad attitude getting out of bed so early in the morning for just one person to show up for class...but not the case. It's super expensive and they keep changing all the rules. Was a dedicated member but they kept changing the pricing and my workout times. The constant measuring and supplements are a time waster and another ploy to get more money out of you. The trainers are good but the management isn't. There are many better choices out there. I'm giving five stars for Dr. Jon Gundlach at Stark in Irvine. I met Dr. Jon back in 2009, when I was training for an Ironman. I had been dealing with a serious calf injury for nearly two years, and I had been to see doctors and physical therapists up the wazoo. I had mulitple x-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds. No one could figure out what was wrong with my swollen calf. It hurt to walk on, much less bike or run on; I could only find relief by wearing a surgical stocking close to 24 hours a day. And then I went to see Dr. Jon for a back issue. While he worked on my back, I told him about my leg problem. After my second visit to Dr. Jon, my leg was pain-free. I was amazed and overjoyed and so incredibly thankful. All along I had been thinking I would need surgery, but with a bit of ART (active release therapy), Dr. Jon completely, totally, utterly fixed my leg. I have had zero issues with my calf since then. I still see Dr. Jon for various back issues from an old running injury, and he fixes me every time. I cannot say enough about his practice! If you have any pain at all, I highly, highly recommend you make an appointment to see Dr. Jon at Stark. A couple visits, and you'll feel so much better. Where do i begin.... lets start exactly 1 year ago. I was getting married in exactly 2 months and I was working out 6 to 7 days a week, sometimes 2-3 hours a day. whether it was back to back spin classes, yoga, pilates or just plain running in circles, I was doing it. Skinny right? ya not so much. Come to find out all the working out I was doing got me absolutely no where and was having reverse effects on me and my body. Stark help me realize that. This gym literally saved my life!!! I needed to lose some visceral fat, the fat around ur organs that you are supposed to have in order to protect them; which is like super hard to do, in order to get a surgery I needed to pretty much live. I went to the wonderful people at Stark and asked them to do the impossible, help me lose the fat while on a very restricted diet, physically very weak after already having two very invasive surgeries in three months, and they only had six months to do it. Needless to say, I am healthy, alive, and in the best shape of my life. They encouraged, pushed, and at times even carried me thru the hardest time of my life. My surgeon was astonished by my recovery from my 4 surgeries. he has been the top surgeon in his field for 17 years, and has never seen a patient bounce back like i have. You would be crazy, I mean absolutely looney tunes, to not train at Stark. They give you the tools to live a healthier and happier life, and support you while achieving any and all goals you set for yourself, even if they are impossible. I joined Stark back in 2010 in preparation for my 40th birthday. I always thought that I was in great shape until I actually saw (in B/W) what my body fat was compared to my weight. I then realized that as i am getting older, I needed to do something fast about it! The beauty of Stark, is that they train you and also teach you how to eat properly. The trainers are top notch and very well educated, as they are always learning what is new and innovative and are constantly taking classes by some well known folks in the industry. They also taught me that DIET is everything, not just showing up for workouts. They also have some great chiropractors and physical therapists on hand. Without that service, I would not be where I am today. I was originally 175 lbs and 24% body fat and am now am down to 155 lbs and 6% body fat! A truly magnificent transformation to a guy like me. Dr. Jon at Stark has changed my life! I'd suffered from months of chronic sciatic pain which left me afraid to move let alone workout. I felt like all I could manage was to sit or lie down and not do much activity for fear of the painful shocks running down my leg. I knew I couldn't go on like this since my inactivity was really just making the problem worse. After a friend highly recommended Dr. Jon I gave him a try. I had never tried ART before and was a little nervous. The first day I saw him was my last day with pain - I'm no longer afraid to move and have resumed my normal workouts and then some!
