a bar filled with liquor bottles

Cool downtown bar with a comfortable and relaxed vibe on the afternoon we strolled in - the smart and attentive bartender/mixologist made pleasantries with us all the while pouring my craft draft and mixing my girls drink a vodka and blueberries with lemon zest cocktail called an "Angel ". There's a small bar top with a about a dozen stools as you walk in straight ahead to your left. Along with a couple large open areas throughout to sit, lean, stand and congregate. Dark corners and low leather couches, again very comfortable and relaxed. A video gambling games area down the corridor, again spaced enough to allow multiple people to hang around, sit and socialize. Exceptionally good music was playing in the background the afternoon of our visit. A decent selection of drinks available, some local wines along with several craft beers on tap and a fully stocked bar. 4 stars - a great break from our afternoon, will return again if we're in the area again. 00428

Came here while in town to watch the Olympic T&F trials and ordered a White Russian. This bartender (Austin) is the real deal as it is perfect! Will definitely make a point to return to Eugene and the Starlight again!!

My husband and I are frequent visitors to Starlight. We especially love the events they have. They have a themed trivia night always in rotation with some sort of themed sing along. They also have a great little room in the back with a pool table that is very reasonably priced to rent out. We love their drink specials that change on the hour. A great place to come and hang with a group of friends.

    Dillion perfecting the lemon drop

I visited this lounge when I traveled up from San Jose California for a family visit. We arrived and were greeted by the bartender with a huge smile and sweet giggle. Dillion suggested and made the best lemon drop! This will be a stop I must make next time this gal rolls thru town!

This place is kind of dead earlier in the evening, but after 9pm, it gets incredibly busy and loud. People are probably revving up for the $2 Patron shots at 9:30pm. Hover around the bar until you hear the bell. If you want food, you'll have the option of ordering from a couple different places, like The Horsehead, since the Starlight Lounge doesn't have a kitchen, but you'll have to wait for the bartender to call it in and the food to be delivered. 4:00pm-7:00pm (Happy Hour): $2 - White Russians w/ Crater Lake Vodka, Local Microbrews, Hinman Wines 9:30pm-10:30pm: $2 - Patron shots 9:30pm-12:00am: $2 - Local Microbrews

We stopped at Starlight for their happy hour drinks before checking out First National Taphouse. We hadn't been for a couple of years, but knew it was a great spot for inexpensive martinis. + $3 Crater Lake martinis (up from $2 a couple of years ago) + $3 Microbrews + Friendly bartender Starlight isn't a spot I'd likely hang out for hours and hours, but it's great for a pre-dinner martini!

    Old fashioned with cherries

Starlight lounge has incredible cocktails. The bartenders are awesome. They also have heaters and covered areas outside so you can catch a vibe even during a pandemic.

This is a really nice place downtown. Good seating, great drink selection and it doesn't get too crowded.

It is cool and dim, super mellow before the $2 shots kick in, and I got a $2 martini made with Crater Lake vodka that pretty much kicked ass.

We were seated accordingly but were then moved to the back of the room where no one was because our friend laughed too loudly. When we inquired why...we were told the comedian was too sensitive. WHAT? We are incredibly easy people. Docile, easy, etc. we asked the "worker" and he stated that the comedian is literally too sensitive and will walk off the stage if you laugh too loud and that they need to build contacts to build their business. One positive, the onion rings were good. So come here for that?... Zero points for me. I will NEVER be back here. UPDATE: I was approached by workers who stated they saw my review and said we were no longer welcome.

We decided to pay premium ticket prices, and upon seating we were ushered to the far back where no one else was. We were not given an explanation other than our friend had a loud laugh. (Not heckling, just a naturally loud laugh) We felt wronged due to the fact that we were a group who wished to buy drinks, food and enjoy a comedy show; however, at the end of the night, we were told that the comedian would not appreciate our friends laugh and would walk off the stage. (Odd behavior and not fitting for a comedian.) Apparently, the comedian was very sensitive and made us recluse to the background. This was a very disappointing experience. All our friend did was laugh. No refund offered btw. He does have a deep laugh, but so what. That is the point of comedy. The fact that he was asked to sit back in the very last row, is not fair and allows me to write this as a less than a star. I would never recommend this certain spot to anybody who wants to have a good night on a weekend. I wish I could give less than a 1 star review. I'll never go to this club again. The atmosphere is dark and not very classy where you wait for the show to begin. Finally, they ushered us into a room that was more appropriate, however not much better. Seriously, Less than one star. Do anything but go to. Get a pizza. Stay home. Just avoid this place with the "ownership." We weren't offered refunds for our premium tickets when we were put to the back of the room. Worse, the owner or manager came back once our friend posted a one star review. No joke, he came over and said, "She just gave a one star review kick them out." Well, that's not the only one star review buddy. Treat your patrons better and don't single out and embarrass them. Not once did they attempt to make it right.

She has a manic energy and is a complete control freak and outright rude. She'll give you a long list of things you cannot do, like wake the cats up, scratch their belly or hold a cat wand toy too high. they have fewer rules at Disneyland. You know your perception of weird cat lady? She's that! Honestly if I found a cat I wanted to adopt I'd think twice before wanting to deal with her as a liaison for the rescues. She's totally off putting. Once you're in the "lounge" she'll eagle eye you by coming in and sitting at a table and watch you interact with the cats, even though there is a huge glass window and she can see everything from her front desk. It's very uncomfortable and I did not have an enjoyable time. I was previewing this business in hopes of bringing friends here, but I'll pass. I am glad they have been able to adopt out a good number of cats and the place could be fun and enjoyable if she'd back off and learn some etiquette. If I were a cat I'd hiss at her...

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.
