While that wasn't always best time for us, it was understandable since Kim, the owner, handled everything by herself. - Amenities: Plenty...some of which you don't typically find: - A pool table on the first floor - Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor at no charge - A large game room with a big TV and refrigerator on the 2nd floor - Designer touches and whimsical art throughout the house - The house was always very clean - Hosts: Super. Perhaps the most important feature was Kim. Super friendly with boundless energy and a chef's touch in the kitchen. I could never be an innkeeper. I'd toss half the tenants to the street, but Kim blended everyone so well we didn't want to leave after 4 nights. - Housekeeping: Whatever we asked for...we got. Basically, we just needed fresh towels and clean waste baskets. - Parking: No problem. There were reserved parking spots for each room in front of the house. - Price and Value: Fine. We stayed in Cabin 6 which boasts a lovely deck and magical mountain views. There is a bed upstairs in the loft, and a bedroom downstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a good meal. I brought my own cast iron skillet and cooking gear packed in my camping supplies but ended up using what was in the cabin kitchen and it was perfect! No tv so you get to truly unwind, and enjoy the mountain air and cabin beauty. Loved it so much going back next month.

We packed our bags and headed up to Flagstaff for some reprieve. A little nervous taking our 2 year old but based on the reviews, we took a chance. I'm beyond grateful we did. Our hotel room was exactly what we needed, two beds, plenty of space, updated, mini fridge, mini microwave, bathtub to bathe little, super comfy beds and blackout shades to get some well deserved rest (if you have kids - you know). We only checked out the restaurant for breakfast and it was okay - nothing amazing but also not bad. The waitstaff were very pleasant and timely. The amenities are what really stole the show. The park was actually perfect for our toddler to run around, get dirty and make some new friends. It's well designed to accommodate kids of all ages and actually entertained me as mom too. We met plenty of other parents there with their littles which made it that much better. We planned to check out the pool but our son was on explorer mode so the trails, basketball court and park took up his time. The only downside to our stay, was that our bathtub drain was clogged so our showers were so fun with standing water up to our ankles. We did call a few times but no one ever came to fix it (maintenance was tied up with the pool I later heard and it was a holiday weekend so maybe they were short staffed). I called and spoke with the front desk who offered us a comp toward our bill for the inconvenience which was appreciated. Overall we had a lovely stay and plan to return in the winter for their Christmas festivities.

We stayed during Northern Arizona University graduation weekend, so we assumed there was no chance of getting an early check-in with how busy Flagstaff was. Thankfully, Chris, the General Manager, took amazing care of us. He was incredibly friendly, gave us great dinner recommendations, and went out of his way to make sure we could check in early. That level of hospitality made a huge difference during a hectic graduation weekend. Since this is an extended stay property, the layout feels more like an apartment complex than a traditional hotel. The room was essentially a studio apartment complete with a kitchen, living area, king size bed, full bathroom, and even a fireplace. The kitchen included a full-size refrigerator and stovetop, which was a nice bonus. There was also storage everywhere--drawers and cabinets throughout the room, including several in the bathroom--which made the space feel very functional and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked like a charm. The bed came with four pillows, which usually means thin pillows where you need to stack two together to sleep comfortably. Not these. They were fluffy and firm enough that I only needed one. The shower took a little time to heat up, but once it did there was plenty of hot water. There were definitely some visible signs of wear--the couch and carpet especially--but it really didn't detract much from the overall experience. The check-in building also has a dining area that offers a complimentary daily breakfast. There's a small bar serving a few local draft beers and wine, plus a convenience store where you can grab snacks and other incidentals. Parking is $5, and there was plenty of parking conveniently located near the rooms. If you're looking for a spacious, comfortable stay in Flagstaff with exceptional customer service, Sonesta ES Suites is an easy recommendation.

Everything was complimentary, convenient and satisfying, and it made for a great start to each day of our stay. The breakfast was definitely one of the highlights of the experience. I also appreciated that the hotel had a laundry room available. Having access to laundry made it much easier to manage dirty clothes during the trip instead of having to cram them into our luggage, which was very convenient. However, the unit we stayed in was far from ideal. The biggest issue was the sofa, which essentially had no cushioning left and looked extremely worn down. Sitting on it was extremely uncomfortable, and its condition stood out right away. The leather one seater in the room was also in poor shape and had clearly seen better days. In addition to the furniture, some areas of the room appeared neglected. The air vents, in particular, looked very dirty and rusty, which was hard to ignore. To make matters worse, there was a wasp in the room when we first walked in, which was unpleasant and unexpected. On a more positive note, the beds and comforters were comfortable, so sleeping was not an issue during our stay. Overall, the hotel was a decent place to stay, but it was not great. While there were some strong positives, especially the breakfast and laundry access, the condition and maintenance of the room could have been much better.

It…read moreis really popular so book in advance, one of the nights I wanted to stay was sold out and had to camp at a campground and it was super cold that night. Parking is allowed behind the apartment complex that's located next to the hostel. Street parking is also available free on a first come first serve basis. Free wi-fi is available here too. There are plenty of local restaurants in the area that the hostel is located in, also a short walk away is 'historic downtown'. A few blocks north is historic route 66 along with the visitors center located inside the Amtrack train station. You can find souvenirs inside the visitors center and if you walk further up the way there are more stores selling camping gear, outdoor weather clothes and souvenirs as well. The Staff was nice and always stayed busy cleaning and taking care of the place. They did give me some good recommendations for places to eat while staying in Flagstaff. Now the building itself was pretty cool. Judging by the hardware on the doors it was updated back in the 80[s but the architecture on the inside tells the store of when the building was built back to maybe the early 1900s (but that's just my guess and probably not accurate). Either way, I loved how they kept as much of the original features of the building as possible while keeping it functional. I stayed in a female-only dorm during my stay with them. The room I was staying in was a 4-bed female room with its own personal sink and its own minifridge, it also came with a fan in case you get to hot (or need moving air as I do). Even though it had room for 4 females it was only me and this other girl staying in the room for the day. She was on a 4-month' road trip' across the southwest/west coast of the USA. She was originally from England visiting the US for the first time and I loved listening to all the cool places she visited since landing in Seatle making her way down the coast and reaching Flagstaff where she took a rafting tour of the colorado river that rungs through the grand canyon. Some people I was talking to during breakfast were visiting from all over the country and of course, I ran into some people who lived in Plano, Dallas and other parts of the great state of Texas. Super cool people that bunch. They do have a full kitchen so you can use the stove, microwave, etc. Washer and dryers are available just bring quarters and detergent, towels are free just request one from the front desk. Breakfast was your choice of coffee or tea along with oatmeal and some fresh fruit. They have an upstairs with a nice sitting area and another full kitchen and 2 more full bathrooms upstairs so no shortage of bathrooms! Downstairs they have the sitting room and they also have a tv room and pass that they have a small office area with a computer where I assume guests are allowed to use. At the front desk, they have info on tours in the area along with a bulletin board with other useful information in the area. If you play pokemon go there is a pokestop on site haha! I loved this place and it worked for what I needed while staying in the area. If given the chance I would stay here again.

Public transportation (bus)- Mountain Line (https://mountainline.az.gov/) 5-minute walk. B4 you go, totally do your research. It does get hottttt. They have some good bars with live music. I'm a Black Flag fan (old school punk) and they are coming to the area. WOW The hostel has an outdoor area for smokers. Tv area. Computer room (free to use) Laundry room Private room, etc. All A/C window units and fans. PURCHASE AN extension cord for your electronics if you stay in a group room because lack of electric wall outlets. We had one outlet. Geesh. Especially the RN's who work Labor & Delivery) The campground was covered in snow (February) and so I cannot comment about the showers/restrooms/laundromat, etc. as these services are not available in the winter. However, this just means more available spaces to park or camp (they have sites for tents, Campers, big 5th wheels with slide-outs and huge motor coaches they have new 50amp sites for with easy pull in access! Sites are big enough and signage is good. The one thing I would suggest is during the summer, they need to somehow mark the driving pathways so they can easily be distinguished from campsites when snowfall covers the ground. We accidentally drove thru some tent sites getting to our reserved 30amp space in the very back of the campground. No harm done - but my sweet hubby who was driving in was getting quite grumpy how awkward it was to park - only to later realize that if we would have followed the roadway, it would've made a lot more sense and been so much easier! Once we parked, Water and Electric hook ups were quite easy, and each site had a picnic table with plenty of room for parking we even had room at our site for an extra car to park. We thought we would only be there a couple of nights, but due to complications with the birth we ended up having to stay more nights and even asked for a late checkout, and both needs were met by office staff with such kindness and understanding. By the way, definitely make some time to shop around the store. Besides supporting your local community businesses, they have some excellent products for a VERY tasty charcuterie board, light lunch and snacks to take back to your campsite or pack up to go on a hike! My last comment is about marking your GPS coordinates if you are on any site at the back (closest to the brick wall) where the new 50amp and 30amp sites are. Apple Maps, Google Maps & Waze will all mark correct GPS coordinates, however, when you switch to an address, it will tell you that you are on the next street over as if you are one of the apartments on the other side, of the brick wall. In fact, even the sites across from our not up against the brick wall, still show an address using the street name "Pico Del Monte Circle" on the other side of the brick wall where the apartments are located. This is pretty important if you are using your location finder to give somebody else directions to where you are or using apps like Instacart or DoorDash. I did use DoorDash while we were there and the driver had to call and I had to explain how to get into the campground.. this has nothing to do with Woody Mountain Campground and everything to do with the map situation. I did report it to Apple and Google. Hopefully it will get fixed but as of today, i see that has not been fixed. (may 2026)

The campsite director did mention there are ravens so you do need to hide your food if you're going to be away. There were some ants, my dog did get bit up by some sort of bugs on her stomach. The campsite was $30 for the night + $10 for an extra car. I highly recommend this place! It was so peaceful

Prices have increased substantially in my opinion, but there is plenty of space so you could split the costs if you have to join you. They have Peak and Off-peak rates.... It's only for military and families (active, reserve, retired, etc). They also have smaller studio cabins, a larger cabin that fits up to 12 and some pet friendly units. The grounds are beautiful...for the outdoor enthusiasts, hiking, skiing (seasonal) nearby.... Staff was friendly, large fireplace in the lobby, along with a small convenience area where you can get snacks, beer, coffee and more. Great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

The campsites are nicely spread out which allows for privacy and quiet. The campsites have paved back-in "driveways" to park vehicles. Some sites have cemented eating areas and others don't. Each site has a fire pit, grill, and a picnic table. There is little to no lighting at night so be sure to have lamps and flashlights with you. Only the restrooms have lighting at night. Restrooms also have toilet paper and hand soap. There are 3 restroom buildings throughout the campground with both mens and womens stalls. There are NO SHOWERS at this campground. Outside each restroom building is a water spigot that has clean tap water. There are also recycling bins and a large commercial trash bin. HOSTS: The campground hosts were very nice and welcoming. They do a great job of maintaining the campground so shout out to them! CELLPHONE SERVICE: Cellphone service can be hard to access at the campground but as soon as you reach the entrance of the campground, you can get a few bars of service. My service provider is Cricket/AT&T but I noticed others at the campground also had trouble with cell service. TOURIST SITE RECOMMENDATIONS: *SUNSET CRATER VOLCANO (~5-10mins away) located next to the campground *WUPATKI (~30 mins east past Sunset Crater Volcano) *WALNUT CANYON (~20 mins south of the campground) Happy Camping!

(Keep in mind there is a fee for a second vehicle.) Not to far from the restroom ( the cleanest restroom there is) the host really take care of the place, has a facet for cleaning or getting water ( just don't wash your dishes there, not allow) Be ware if ya'll are heading in the summer, there was a few yellowjacket and wasp, we brought a trap to prevent getting strung, didn't get strung but get one if you needed. There were a couple of flies, friend got a fly trapper too so took care of that. When we went, there weren't mosquitos but again, we got a spray and sprayed just in case. I had t-mobile and there wasn't any signal, but if you drive out of the campground, you get signal right away. The site was pretty decent, you can put two tents and have a lot of room, fire pit was pretty deep, a nice concrete picnic table and trees all around; which you can bring a hammock and tied around the truck. Across of the site was the Sunset Crater Visitor Center that leads you to the Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, worth the drive and visit, there's a few view spots that you can bring food to have a picture and the views are just spectacular. This site is about an hour and forty-five minutes away from the Grand Canyon, about thirty minutes away from Flagstaff for your grocery needs. They don't have showers here but I recommend ya'll to shower at Little America Travel Center (2515 East Butler Ave, Flagstaff, AZ 86004) showers were only $15.00 (tax included) and they have a freaking bathtub with a separate shower. You have an hour to take a shower or bath, they provide with one towel, hand towel and a mat towel. Especially after a long day at the Grand Canyon, a much needed shower that last more than thirty minutes is great. I hope this reviews helps to anyone that is planning a trip there.

We took an impromptu overnight vacation to Flagstaff and arrived in town without a reservation. We had always wanted to go to a Bed & Breakfast, so when I started to make calls to check availability, my naivete showed. The first B&B I talked to told me that B&Bs are usually booked a month or two in advance, but he knew that the Starlight Pines might still have one room available. That gentleman also served as Flagstaff's B&B Ambassador by telling me that the tax rates for hotels in Flagstaff is 14%, while the B&B rate is 3%. That was super information to know as we were trying to make a decision on where to stay. I immediately called Richard at the Starlight Pines B&B, and yes, he actually had two rooms available because of a last-minute cancellation. We headed over immediately. Richard had us at "hello"! What a warm, welcoming man he is! Not having had a B&B experience before ("B&B virgins," as Richard called us), we didn't know what to expect. But how wonderful to feel as if we were being welcomed into someone's home! We took a walk through the beautiful home. I think Richard said it was built 16 years ago, but it's a replica of a Victorian home. Beautiful porch. Beautiful decor. Very, very clean. A kitchen to die for. Richard asked what we planned to do while we were in town, and we mentioned that we wanted to go to the Lowell Observatory. He disappeared for about 20 seconds and came back with two discount coupons for the observatory! What nice service! He told us that breakfast (souffle) would be served at 8:30am. Because I am recovering from breast cancer treatment and still moving pretty slowly, we told him we would forgo breakfast and sleep in. We stayed in the Art Deco bedroom, which was just wonderful. We told Richard the next morning that our only learning was that we should have opened the window in the bedroom to let the cool evening breeze in before we went into town. That would have made the room temperature much more pleasant for us (we love a cold room to sleep in). We won't make that mistake next time! We're from Phoenix, so we love cool weather! The bedroom was immaculate, and it has an attached bathroom. Claw-foot tub, beautiful antique fixtures and furniture. Again, very, very clean. We were entirely comfortable there. One side note: Richard has two beautiful small dogs that had been very well behaved when we arrived. When we returned from dinner in town at about 10:30pm, we used our guest key to get into the home. We laughed because those two pups were sacked out on their beds in the foyer and didn't open their eyes when we came into the house! They're obviously used to folks they don't know coming and going. GREAT B&B dogs! Sure enough, we got rolling well after the 8:30am breakfast, but Richard greeted us with an offer of coffee and a beautiful fruit bowl, which he made on the fly. Given that we had declined his regular breakfast fare (which sounded so yummy), we were so touched that he would drop everything to create those beautiful and delicious fruit bowls for us. This was my first stay at Starlight Pines for a winter solstice getaway with my two dearests soul-friends. Monica and Maxx are amazing hosts, and generally warm, welcoming, wonderful people. Monica was always running around in an apron, either baking something delicious, or painting some beautiful rustic piece of furniture in her workshop. Maxx loved to regale us with stories of their beautiful lives. There was a feeling of practical safety regarding pandemic precautions. The room and the house are absolutely gorgeous and filled with fascinating and beautiful things. Each morning we were awoken with coffee and homemade pastries at 7am and a breakfast fit for a queen around 9am. Everything was served outside the door as the breakfast room was closed due to the pandemic. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return, hopefully at a time when it is safe to share a sit-down meal with these amazing hosts. I felt I truly made two new friends that weekend. Starlight Pines was one of the greatest B&B experiences that my husband and I have experienced in 30 years! It is impossible to believe how large and accommoding the room was for us. The bed was a wonderful sleep. There is a large sitting room on the first floor that is so inviting it was dreamlike. There were books everywhere! The small attention to details and decor in every aspect made it a delight. We got to spend some time on the veranda on the swinging bench in the cool evening and that was awesome! And the breakfast... which is something we often skip because we're picky about having good breakfasts... was absolutely amazing. Can I Say AMAZING!?! LOVED Staying here. Richard was the host with the most for sure. This was Our very first B & B Experience and wasn't too sure what to expect. Richard was so wonderful that all fears were gone. The room was amazing with the King Bed and HUGE Tub! WOW! The breakfast was wonderful and eating with strangers (The Other Guests) was quite fun too. And how could we forget about Baxter (The House Doggie). He checked our room for varmints before we went in. (He found none). LOL! Love this place, will return for sure!!! read more

Update as of October 2023: I'm pretty sure this place is now closed for some reason. We've been trying to call and no one answers the phone. I've tried to make reservations, but you cannot do that online. We were in Flagstaff last weekend and we drove by but there were no cars. I have no idea what has happened, and it makes me sad to think that this place is possibly shut down. If anyone knows what anything, please post. read more

The mattress and bedding were excellent quality and extremely comfortable, which made it easy to relax and get a great night of sleep. The bathroom was beautifully tiled and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic. It is always the little details that make a stay feel extra comfortable, and everything in the room felt thoughtfully designed. One of our favorite parts of the property was the front patio area with the fire pit. It created such a great atmosphere and was the perfect place to hang out, relax, and spend time talking with friends in the evening. The pull out is good for a child but a large adult and definitely two would be hard to sleep comfortably. The hotel hits the mark with all of the amenities and decor. Our room was stocked with coffee, linens and even a sound machine. Variety of waters and plenty of room for all our things. The decor in the room was tastefully done and it felt like a home away from home. The staff is there until 6pm each day and available to be reached any time of the day. The courtyard was done so well and has plenty of seating with multiple firepits to enjoy. The lobby has many amenities from smores kits, lighters and drinks to purchase. The communication was wonderful from arrival and until departure. The only complaint we had was how hard it was to keep the temperature in the room at the same degree, but with a 1894 home it gives it character.

Plus there weren't dressers, so we couldn't even rely on the closets to store clothes. *There were crumbs in all the kitchen drawers. *There was pet hair everywhere -- including on the counters and on appliances. *The bathroom rugs looked like they hadn't been washed for years. Again, so unfortunate! Cute place in a great location. We did contact Amy -- she said they had hired a new cleaning service and she would let them know. Flawless. This is the one!…read more After a long search of the Northern AZ VRBOs for a 4 night stay for 9, we found ClassyCabinsAZ and booked Bearly-A-Cabin for Thanksgiving! The Cabin: Oftentimes something looks better on the Internet than reality, however this was not the case with Bearly-A-Cabin. We drove in from Monument Valley on Wednesday evening and were absolutely floored. You think it looks fantastic in the pictures? It's better! The cabin was absolutely spotless floor to ceiling, and is literally a *complete* home. How complete? We prepared Thanksgiving dinner for 9 here. What did we need to bring to prepare it? Just the food. Everything else was here - baking pans, settings, dishes for numerous sides, cutlery, and every other item needed. Giant dining room table, solid wood and awesome. It isn't like a hotel room or suite - it's a fully operational HOME with literally everything you have in your own and more. Just show up with groceries and you're set for anything. The cabin layout is amazing - very large great room with a sofa at least 2x large as your own, fully stocked kitchen as mentioned above, tons of sleeping options with the 2 king bedrooms ( beds are awesome ) and the 2 bunk rooms + the loft, game room with pool table, decks on both sides of the house and an ACRE of land for hanging out and playing with your kids. The property lines are well marked with rows of large rocks so you know where "your" land is! Being outside on the property was serene - clean air, quiet, relaxing! The Area: This is your home base. We did Grand Canyon, Williams for the Polar Express, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, and Sedona. Nothing is further than 60 miles. Very ideal location if you want to hit the National Parks and Monuments. We left during the first snow on Sunday morning, I bet the place is even more fun with some snow cover! They have sleds and snow toys in a deck box in the front. We joked that even if we just stayed at the cabin and went nowhere it would have been awesome. You just want to be in it, it is so well done and decorated. If you group is large, don't fret - the cabin is plenty large! From initial contact through the end of our stay the process was smooth and painless. Excellent communication from our hosts Amy and Steve throughout! Very quick replies to my many questions prior to booking, as well as after all monies were transferred. The excellent service did not stop with payment in full. So glad we found and booked this - we will be back.

The owners and innkeepers live on the first floor with 4 suites on the 2nd floor for guests. - Our Room (the "green" room): Not huge, but still First Class. - Bed was super comfortable (and I have trouble sleeping) - Towels of varying size were soft and thick - Even the toilet paper seemed more plush. 3 ply? - A window seat overlooking the quiet street was a nice touch - Breakfast: From scratch each day for all visitors at 8 AM. While that wasn't always best time for us, it was understandable since Kim, the owner, handled everything by herself. - Amenities: Plenty...some of which you don't typically find: - A pool table on the first floor - Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor at no charge - A large game room with a big TV and refrigerator on the 2nd floor - Designer touches and whimsical art throughout the house - The house was always very clean - Hosts: Super. They never responded and so I called the day before. I was told of course no discount (fine, whatever the room was a little over $110) and that I could ring for service and someone would come out to check us in. The driveway is easy to miss at night, so we had to circle around and there isn't direct parking in front of your room for all cars. The very small room had two queens but they were firm and we were glad of just a brief nap vs staying there longer; a little table and 2 chairs off the beds in a "hallway" that lead to the bathroom. The bathroom door was right up against the toilet pretty much, yet they had a bath tub? Idk who uses a bath tub in a place like this but it would've saved space to just have a stall. The AC was loud. They did have a larger than normal mini fridge, but we didn't use it. As the morning progressed, you really hear the traffic...we thought this would be quieter than off the highway but Milton is a MAIN Street. This place had less accommodation/space than a Motel 6 and they cover their bedding with a white sheet sandwiching the thin comforter so it was awkward to determine what was what and no other covering if you're chilled. In short, fine for an overnight stay or if you're truly not picky about comfort.
