Not many folks talk about the Setai Hotel Miami in and about itself as it's likely more well known for their popular restaurant outlets with Jaya at the Setai and/or Japon at the Setai. But don't sleep on this hotel as Setai Miami is elegant and classy and luxurious. It's clean and nicely decorated with ancient vibes with relics and statutes. Kinda like zen atmosphere! You will surround yourself with classy upscale patrons and the service is above average. Their restaurant outlets are a must try as they offer a great brunch and often have catchy themes and decorations for certain times of the year.

Beautiful entrance setting you up for the perfect tourist trap

When people talk about tourist traps in Miami, The Setai could easily make the list. I went for dinner with genuinely high expectations given its reputation, but the experience fell far short. We were seated around the fountain to watch what was meant to resemble a Cirque du Soleil-style show. The setting is exquisite and charming setting you to the perfect trap. The show felt uncomfortable like the performers were being treated as showpieces in a colosseum. Watching the showgirls hang by their hair or balance painfully on their necks felt more awkward than entertaining, especially while trying to enjoy dinner. The wine selection was watery and didn't complement the meal at all. The appetizers were another disappointment: dumplings that tasted like they were bought at a supermarket and boiled, and a "salad" that was literally a chunk of lettuce with a couple slices of avocado and tomatoes. It might be the most effortless salad ever served. The tacos, which had the most potential, were small and poorly balanced in portion. For the main course, a basic grilled chicken isn't what you expect at a high-end dinner, and the salmon topped with curry felt like an attempt to disguise a less-than-fresh cut. Good salmon only needs a touch of lemon and butter--no heavy dressing required. Even the rice was stiff and unimpressive. Then came the desserts. Sharing a plate of fruit felt like a joke, but the real punchline was the actual desserts. The almond chocolate cake tasted bland, and the cheesecake with fruit sorbet had the texture and flavor of boxed pudding. To top it all off, the service was careless and disengaged. And of course, the ticket to this tourist trap will leave a painful dent in your pocket, an expense that's absolutely not worth a dime. At this point, I can only recommend that you "Setai-away" from this experience.

Our stay at the Setai was good. The decor is elegant and exotic, and the staff was very welcoming. I was celebrating my birthday and upon check in, there was a delicious passion fruit birthday custard waiting for me in the room. This was a very thoughtful touch and really elevated the experience. The only issues we encountered that hold it back from a five star rating, was the cramped, almost cluttered feeling of the room. It's like it just had too much stuff in it. The toiletries were also off-putting. The signature scent was very generic and almost reminded me of an air freshener from the dollar store. The location on Collins Avenue is great and there's beach and pool access even though we did not partake. We did walk alongside the pools but decided there were just so many people around that it was anything but peaceful. We dined in the Hotel's restaurant, Jaya for dinner as well as breakfast and had great food. For some reason, yelp is restricting reviews for that restaurant at the moment, so let me just work in a good word for the food and great service we had there. The only miss was my dessert was not very good, but the rest of the meal was excellent, and they had contortionists perform once an hour. Overall the Setai is a good hotel, but with the cluttered room and the crowded pool area, it just feels a little bit extra- but not in a good way. At this price, it should feel a bit more exclusive, and in some instances, it feels too commercialized. There was a lot of swag and exorbitantly priced mini-bar novelties that it detracted from the ambiance.

Setai Hotel is an Asian inspired luxury hotel in Miami Beach with a beautiful Zen inspired lobby. Big and spacious rooms and gorgeous views, stylish serenity and tranquil atmosphere. Good and delicious food from its restaurant, Jaya at the Setai. Attentive and exceptional service from its staff members. Check it out!

It is good and overall better quality than most brunches with plenty of options. Included in the brunch is champagne, rose, mojitos, espresso martinis and you can order additional drinks off theme he not included in the brunch price. The staff was good at removing plates and refilling. You have 2-hours to sit drink and eat and are a little hostile when cutting you off. He wouldn't fill our drinks up when we had 5 minutes and still waiting on paying. I thought that was the only issue which made us feel unwelcome. Besides that good service.

We stayed here while in Miami for a wedding. This was hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It is a 5 star hotel for a reason. There is so many positive things to say that I will probably miss a bunch, but I will try to recap as best as possible. Through American Express, we were upgraded from a regular room to a suite which I think made my stay more enjoyable. We were given private transportation to and from the hotel. Upon arriving, we were greeted by multiple employees. With a few exceptions, the entire staff were extremely friendly and outgoing. Whether the pool, beach, check in, entry, etc. we were always greeted and made to feel welcome. We were told to leave our bags on the cart in the lobby and would be brought up after we checked in. We were given drinks and cool towels while we waited. The lobby always had someone outside directing cars and what I think was security always at the front entry. The elevator going up could only be activated with a room key. You could only access your floor. The room was amazing. We had a balcony suite. There was a comfortable lounge chair and other chairs to relax on the balcony. The fridge had complimentary drinks that were restocked daily. They also had room service and Jaya which is the restaurant located on the main level. Breakfast was complimentary if staying in the suites. The suites had a full kitchen and other items that you wouldn't bring on a trip. They let you borrow a beach bag for your stay that is in the room. Beautiful clean bathrooms with jacuzzi, amazing shower, and a bidet. My favorite part of the hotel was probably the pool area. They had 3 pools with different temperatures of 75, 85 and 90 degrees. The pool was 24 hours and was lit up beautifully at night. The staff at the pool were amazing. You would pick the pool and they would set you up in chairs or a cabana. They would cover the comfortable chairs with a fitted towel and give you regular towels and complimentary aluminum water bottles. The beach staff were also great. Pick a spot and decide if you want an umbrella. If so, they would drill a hole in the sand for easy placement. I would one thousand percent stay here again when I'm in Miami. Five stars!

We had a Saturday brunch here it was great. Soon as we walked in we loved the vibe it's super nice and cool with the misters on in there. The service was amazing and the food was delicious every station was clean and well stocked very good we can't wait to return on Sunday for the jazz brunch !!

Celebrated a birthday at their Sunday brunch. Vibrant energy, live music, lots of good food options. A great place for a high energy celebration.

Gorgeous venue overlooking the beach, with stylish design and a refined clientele. Perfect for a relaxing dinner or a few drinks--an all-around awesome experience. Setai Resort truly has it all: a beautiful pool, beachfront bar, and an upscale fine dining restaurant. In my opinion, it's one of the most luxurious choices in Miami. They even offer a few different bottles of kosher wine, which is a rare and thoughtful touch.

Visited the Setai for our anniversary and enjoyed a wonderful three course meal with a beautiful performance by their dancers! Our experience was absolutely wonderful - the staff congratulated us on our anniversary and made sure that the evening was lovely and romantic. The food was soooooooo good - we ordered so many good things, but the highlight was the lamb. Perfectly cooked and seasoned - 10/10

High ceilings, marble everywhere, and a buzz that tells you you're in the right place. What impressed me most? There's genuinely plenty to do for all ages, which is not something you can say about every Miami resort. Whether you're traveling with kids, teens, adults, or a multigenerational crew, everyone finds their lane here. The pool scene is the heartbeat of the property. Multiple pools, each with its own personality -- family-friendly areas with space to splash, quieter corners for lounging, and the high-energy spots where the music and cocktails flow. Service was dialed in across the board: fast, friendly, and always one step ahead. Rooms were spotless and stylish, with balconies that make you want to order room service just to soak in the view a little longer. Housekeeping kept everything crisp, and every request was met with that effortless "of course" attitude. Dining is another standout. From quick bites to full-on fine dining, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even the grab-and-go spots felt elevated. And if nightlife is your thing, you don't need to leave the property -- the energy here after dark is pure Miami. But if you're traveling with kids or just want a low-key night, the resort still feels comfortable and accessible. Fontainebleau nails that rare balance of iconic luxury and all-ages fun. It's bold, glamorous, and buzzing in all the right ways, yet still manages to be welcoming and easy to enjoy no matter who you're traveling with. A true Miami classic that continues to deliver. The Fontainebleau Las Vegas is impeccable, so we expected the same level of luxury and service here. Unfortunately, this location feels run down and poorly managed. The beds literally cave in in the middle, rooms feel outdated, and basic amenities were a struggle. There's nowhere to get ice yourself -- you have to call for it -- except no one ever brought it despite us requesting it multiple times over all 4 days. For a "luxury" hotel, there were also no slippers, no robes, and no 24-hour room service, which was surprising considering the price point and reputation. The full suite, which was the most expensive room we booked, had multiple issues: the shower head was rusted with water barely coming out of several holes, and the refrigerator leaked huge puddles onto the floor. We even encountered very rude interactions with both a poolside employee and a pool restaurant employee. Monday morning, my boyfriend and I wanted to sit in a cabana for literally 10 minutes to eat a bagel and coffee we had purchased from their café because we simply needed shade. The entire pool area was practically empty, yet we were shooed away in a very disrespectful manner. Later, when we went to COTE for lunch, the food and drinks were amazing and our servers were fantastic -- but once again, the front desk staff had a condescending attitude. We were asking what seating was available and discussing options within our group since we wanted a normal sit-down table. After we asked a follow-up question to clarify what wasn't available, the hostess responded with, "Do you want me to show you the tables so you can figure it out?" Meanwhile, the tables, couches, and bar seating were directly in front of us. We were simply trying to understand the wait and seating situation, not asking to be spoken to disrespectfully. What made the experience even worse was management. While discussing concerns at checkout and showing photos/videos, the manager was sitting on her phone while we were speaking to her. I've genuinely never seen someone so unprofessional in a management position at a luxury hotel. On top of that, friends and family tried sending champagne to the suite for the proposal celebration. It became unbelievably difficult. Emails went unanswered, calls weren't returned after multiple attempts, and one person who paid for the champagne had to text us directly asking if we received it -- because the hotel never delivered it. Only after they called again the following day to complain did the champagne finally arrive. Overall, this hotel feels like it stays busy mainly because of conventions and the iconic name, not because of the actual guest experience. The only highlight? The late-night food truck was honestly 10/10.

Once upstairs, the hotel is very neat and tidy and our room was a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony, facing the bay and city. The condition and working order of the room, bathroom, and kitchenette were excellent. We loved the minimalist aesthetic. They did have a happy bday card and some chocolates for me in my room - a very nice touch. The main event downstairs is the pool area. They had a DJ playing vibey lounge music and it was packed with people chilling and drinking as mature adults. Definitely not a wild spring break scene. The pool is heated, too. The best is being in the pool as the sun sets - very magical as the place goes from day to night. Great hotel - lousy front desk. I reviewed the restaurant, Baia, separately - great waterfront vibes, so-so food, and disorganized service.

Note this place does not accept Apple Pay- Terrible…read more The staff here is absolutely terrible and inattentive. I went to order an empanada from the front and the man that was behind the counter (after taking a 80 payment for 3 food items and 2 coffees..) walked to the front desk gave the girl a hug went outside did some stuff and then came back to make our drinks. I don't even understand what happened there there was one employee working behind and he just walked away. I was told from the front desk that they only have one available cart for us to use and that the carts they had the previous day "disappeared"- the bellman was incredibly rude and laughed at me bc I asked how the carts from yesterday just disappeared... (might've been a bad question but a place like this that is so expensive... it makes no sense to have 1 cart in the entire hotel) I had to ask I believe a manager(Sebastian) he was so incredibly helpful and got us what we needed and really was the only helpful staff member there he rocks, he apologized oh behalf of the other staff and was helpful and patient with the situation! The food was probably the worst food I have ever eaten- they need to figure out that situation first. For the prices they charge I really wanted to tell the chef face to face how bad it was. The fish was over cooked to the point it was literally so crispy like a French fry there was no moisture left in the fish. The fries (were very good) the coleslaw had no flavor it tasted like mayo and cabbage like nothing else seemed to be in it.. somehow bland... The fish was bland. The tartar sauce was bland. Somehow even the horseradish sauce they gave me was bland. It was sincerely the worst fish fry I have ever eaten in my entire life. And I do not say that lightly........Really haven't had an experience like this anywhere else it was utterly ridiculous absolutely laughable for what they charge and the location. The best part if my meal was the fried and ketchup. So sad. The pastries? The chefs makes pretty croissants but the filling is absolutely terrible it was like curry chicken and peppers nothing like a chicken empanada.. didn't have any beef options all in all I would absolutely never recommend this place to anybody ever. Seems like it's going downhill or staff just doesn't care! I've seen the other recent reviews and they aren't great.. Doesn't seem like they let the chefs put anything on the menu themselves and really streamlined the whole thing terribly. I would not recommend this hotel unless you want rude service and terrible food. The only good thing about this place is that it's on the water..
