This is for their indulgent brunch, but I'd be willing to bet a stay here is probably just as exceptional. My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami! read more

I love this hotel, the pool, the beach, the restaurants and the valmont spa. We had a great time. Please note that the spa reception is on the first floor across from the hotel check-in. You must walk through the lobby and across the outside area. The sauna and the one person steam shower is located here. You Check-in then you get changed into the robe and walk across the lobby check-in area to the elevators. You are walking through the area with all the guests and their luggage in your super large robe that doesn't close very well. I did not enjoy this. Some disappointing things which was not their fault is the parking garage construction noise even on Sundays. The noise took away from my spa experience. They did nothing for the noise control. Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. The valet staff was quite nasty telling me we were there too long for the discount BUT each one of those alone qualified for a discounted valet. You can not do both in the 4 hour window. read more

Not many folks talk about the Setai Hotel Miami in and about itself as it's likely more well known for their popular restaurant outlets with Jaya at the Setai and/or Japon at the Setai. But don't sleep on this hotel as Setai Miami is elegant and classy and luxurious. It's clean and nicely decorated with ancient vibes with relics and statutes. Kinda like zen atmosphere! You will surround yourself with classy upscale patrons and the service is above average. Their restaurant outlets are a must try as they offer a great brunch and often have catchy themes and decorations for certain times of the year. read more

When people talk about tourist traps in Miami, The Setai could easily make the list. I went for dinner with genuinely high expectations given its reputation, but the experience fell far short. We were seated around the fountain to watch what was meant to resemble a Cirque du Soleil-style show. The setting is exquisite and charming setting you to the perfect trap. The show felt uncomfortable like the performers were being treated as showpieces in a colosseum. Watching the showgirls hang by their hair or balance painfully on their necks felt more awkward than entertaining, especially while trying to enjoy dinner. The wine selection was watery and didn't complement the meal at all. The appetizers were another disappointment: dumplings that tasted like they were bought at a supermarket and boiled, and a "salad" that was literally a chunk of lettuce with a couple slices of avocado and tomatoes. It might be the most effortless salad ever served. The tacos, which had the most potential, were small and poorly balanced in portion. For the main course, a basic grilled chicken isn't what you expect at a high-end dinner, and the salmon topped with curry felt like an attempt to disguise a less-than-fresh cut. Good salmon only needs a touch of lemon and butter--no heavy dressing required. Even the rice was stiff and unimpressive. Then came the desserts. Sharing a plate of fruit felt like a joke, but the real punchline was the actual desserts. The almond chocolate cake tasted bland, and the cheesecake with fruit sorbet had the texture and flavor of boxed pudding. To top it all off, the service was careless and disengaged. And of course, the ticket to this tourist trap will leave a painful dent in your pocket, an expense that's absolutely not worth a dime. At this point, I can only recommend that you "Setai-away" from this experience. read more

Our stay at the Setai was good. The decor is elegant and exotic, and the staff was very welcoming. I was celebrating my birthday and upon check in, there was a delicious passion fruit birthday custard waiting for me in the room. This was a very thoughtful touch and really elevated the experience. The only issues we encountered that hold it back from a five star rating, was the cramped, almost cluttered feeling of the room. It's like it just had too much stuff in it. The toiletries were also off-putting. The signature scent was very generic and almost reminded me of an air freshener from the dollar store. The location on Collins Avenue is great and there's beach and pool access even though we did not partake. We did walk alongside the pools but decided there were just so many people around that it was anything but peaceful. We dined in the Hotel's restaurant, Jaya for dinner as well as breakfast and had great food. For some reason, yelp is restricting reviews for that restaurant at the moment, so let me just work in a good word for the food and great service we had there. The only miss was my dessert was not very good, but the rest of the meal was excellent, and they had contortionists perform once an hour. Overall the Setai is a good hotel, but with the cluttered room and the crowded pool area, it just feels a little bit extra- but not in a good way. At this price, it should feel a bit more exclusive, and in some instances, it feels too commercialized. Included in the brunch is champagne, rose, mojitos, espresso martinis and you can order additional drinks off theme he not included in the brunch price. The staff was good at removing plates and refilling. You have 2-hours to sit drink and eat and are a little hostile when cutting you off. He wouldn't fill our drinks up when we had 5 minutes and still waiting on paying. I thought that was the only issue which made us feel unwelcome. Besides that good service. read more

We stayed here while in Miami for a wedding. This was hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It is a 5 star hotel for a reason. There is so many positive things to say that I will probably miss a bunch, but I will try to recap as best as possible. Through American Express, we were upgraded from a regular room to a suite which I think made my stay more enjoyable. We were given private transportation to and from the hotel. Upon arriving, we were greeted by multiple employees. With a few exceptions, the entire staff were extremely friendly and outgoing. Whether the pool, beach, check in, entry,etc. we were always greeted and made to feel welcome. We were told to leave our bags on the cart in the lobby and would be brought up after we checked in. We were given drinks and cool towels while we waited. The lobby always had someone outside directing cars and what I think was security always at the front entry. The elevator going up could only be activated with a room key. You could only access your floor. The room was amazing. We had a balcony suite. There was a comfortable lounge chair and other chairs to relax on the balcony. The fridge had complimentary drinks that were restocked daily. They also had room service and Jaya which is the restaurant located on the main level. Breakfast was complimentary if staying in the suites. The suites had a full kitchen and other items that you wouldn't bring on a trip. They let you borrow a beach bag for your stay that is in the room. Beautiful clean bathrooms with jacuzzi, amazing shower, and a bidet. My favorite part of the hotel was probably the pool area. They had 3 pools with different temperatures of 75, 85 and 90 degrees. The pool was 24 hours and was lit up beautifully at night. The staff at the pool were amazing. You would pick the pool and they would set you up in chairs or a cabana. They would cover the comfortable chairs with a fitted towel and give you regular towels and complimentary aluminum water bottles. The beach staff were also great. Pick a spot and decide if you want an umbrella. If so, they would drill a hole in the sand for easy placement. I would one thousand percent stay here again when I'm in Miami. Five stars! read more

Tourist trap. Hostile to families. Absolutely infuriating experience. We arrived early evening with a toddler who was hungry. From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff was rude and dismissive, immediately enforcing a "strict two-hour policy" because not all members of our party had arrived yet. I told her that I need to just order some food for my toddler. Mind you the restaurant was empty and it was Christmas Eve. We were then told to order food from the bar instead. When we walked to the bar, we were promptly told that minors are not allowed there. So which is it? Order from the bar or not? We were bounced around with zero empathy or common sense. I asked to speak to the restaurant manager. One staff member responded by telling me he was "from LA" and that "Miami is different" and that I shouldn't expect them to cater to families. That alone tells you everything about the attitude here. When the manager finally came out, he avoided speaking to me directly, instead questioning the front desk privately until I insisted again that he address me. When I explained the situation and asked if he had children, he flatly said no. No surprise there. To top it off, another front desk staff member then yelled at the original hostess in front of guests, saying, "See how easy it was just to seat them without all this?" Completely unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness. The result? My toddler was starving at 6:00 p.m. and didn't receive her food until nearly an hour later. As for the food, underwhelming and subpar at best. The Thai salad was laughable, with tough, dry beef cubes that had no business being served. For the prices charged, the quality was unacceptable. The so-called entertainment was equally disappointing: culturally appropriative Asian costumes worn by non-Asian, subpar performers that felt more like a cheap gimmick than anything thoughtful or refined. Overall, this place is pretentious, poorly managed, unfriendly to families, and wildly overrated. If you're dining with children, or expect basic decent food, take your money elsewhere. Had dinner here a couple of times during a business trip but the knockout experience was at the bar. A great scene and the cocktail game is on point. Their lychee martinis and prickly pear margaritas are some of the best I've ever had. The bartenders are super friendly despite always being slammed. I do also want to mention their bar snacks are yummy too! They serve house-made potato chips, chile-spiced olives, and cucumbers flavored with sesame seeds and oil and pair that with crispy tuna apps and your tastebuds are off to a rolling start. Horrible experience here. Made a two hour appt for the spa and asked the front desk to hold my luggage while I spent $200 for a mani/pedi. They refused. Look at what the spa did to my nails. For $200 this is what I got. Absolutely the worst. Pretentious staff thinking they can treat people like trash. Amazing beautiful tranquil oasis right in the heart of Miami Beach, though a bit overpriced for what it is and with some major 'tude that doesn't belong in a luxury hotel. We put up two friends who came for Art Basel here. 6 star ambience: Picture a giant Zen garden crossed with a 4 Seasons hotel and you get the general vibe of this place. Just about every detail is chilled out elegance with an ultra luxury twist. In one of those "only in Miami Beach" moments, it turned out our friends bonded with a fellow hotel guest. He was a visiting artist in town for Art Basel who poses his cat in costumes, takes pictures and then sells the photos for big $$$. He had even smuggled in the cat LOL. 4 star product: The rooms and public spaces are terrific, but overpriced. In large part you're paying an aggressively high rate not so much for the product but for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians fabulousness of the whole experience. 3 star service: For a luxury hotel, there are significant service lapses. From check-in to valets to to restaurant staff, there is definitely a "hipper than thou" attitude permeating the hotel...almost as if the employee handbook says something like "make it more exclusive feeling by pretending you yourself are a mogul" read more

Brunch at the Setai. Too bad there is no reference to just this experience. You either write about the hotel or Jaya. 7 of us Christmas Eve brunch, left a lot to be desired. I had heard sooooo much about this brunch and it left so much to be desired. The food, at best was mediocre. It was really a hit or miss. Specifically, if you ordered two (2) lamb chops rare, you got one rare and one well-done. I ordered the salmon - it's a tiny piece, I said, please "just sear it" DONE... how hard is that. I tried so many dishes to be just average is just not the experience I was looking for. I thought the Indian food was going to be a hit and then that petered out too; if I got one piece of lamb that was tender, the next bite was chewy as all get out. My son said, to be fair, you have to know they are fixing food for the masses today. The place was absolutely packed! That brunch is NOT CHEAP. To be fair, I would have done better going to chick-fil-a; at least my order would have been correct. The champagne was on point, my Bloody Bull (tequila) was very good. I had to come home and fix me a snack - this was not cool and I won't be going back anytime soon and definitely will not refer anyone. Back to the Biltmore... Maybe I'm just picky, but when you select a fancy place that you have heard so many great things about, it should at least come close to its reputation, in this case, it was a major failure. read more

There are bathrooms and valet parking. This is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL place I have ever been. Just stunning at every turn. It popped up under my "rooftop bars" but it is not a rooftop. You walk in and it is at street level. There's an oceanfront restaurant too. And the oceanfront bar is pretty decently priced especially considering the gorgeous environment. Beautiful plants and water everywhere. A serene and beautiful environment. Two sweeping lap pools and beautiful lavender smells from the spa were just amazing. Three choices for desert: chocolate cheesecake, tiramisu, and crepe brûlée. I'm sure they were all delicious. The wine was perfect. The staff was above and beyond kind and friendly. It is a VERY expensive hotel and they will try and nickel and dime you AFTER you have checked out. You and your family can drop a good 10 to 15 grand staying here but The Setai will not be satisfied and add additional charges once you have checked out. I complained and they rescinded the charges but their actions showed me they didn't value my business and have no issue trying to wring a couple of hundred extra dollars out of me. Best to avoid unless you want to get gyped. read more

Literally at one point I said to my husband I wanted a lychee martini--maybe one of the staff had walked by--but our server came up a minute later asking if they could prepare one for me. I stayed at the Setai Miami Beach from April 4-6, 2025 and it was a poor experience. However, my stay was expensive. I spent $2,500 a night for a one bedroom ocean view suite and that did not include all the extras fees. The suite was small and there was only a partial ocean view. I also book through Virtuoso and if an upgrade is available it should be presented to you. I asked several times about an upgrade but was ignored--told my room was already nice--they were not completely full. I typically stay at hotes such as Four Seasons, Aman and Mandarin and, although these properites tend to be more expensive then what I paid at Setai--the difference does not warrant the bad experience. The Setai is old and dated particulary on the ocean suite side. They appear to be very understaffed as phones routinely go unanswered. The spa logistics are frankly ridiculous. You literally must leave the building you are staying in to go check in by the fitness center and spa offices only to then be told to go to another building for the massage services. In our case, they told us to be a half hour early for our appointments and upon arriving to the massage treatment area the doors were locked and we had to go back down to the front desk in our robes. Needless to say we walked almost that entire hotel in our robes. The relaxing room is way too small. The massage services were only adequate. The gym is small but has great equipment and very well attended. The food was fresh but under seasoned. The dinner show was not as impressive as it was the first time I saw it--if felt like fewe acts. On the poolside, the plastic wine glasses were old beat up and, in our case, dirty. However, the pools were well staffed with servers. On a postitive note--there were some real standouts among the staff. Ceaser, who is a concierge, was fantastic and really took care of our every need off property. Alexandria, who works the front desk was incredible especially since they appeared to be short staffed. She really tried to make the experience as nice a possible for guests. Pablo, one of the doorman was fantastic and made sure our bags made it to our rooms quickly. Overall it was not worth the experience, I would never stay there again. read more
