I have always enjoyed staying at the Dream South Beach and this was probably my 20th stay here in the past 15 years. I was in Miami for a day and half and wanted to soak up some sun and enjoy myself being close to restaurants and the beach . I love this boutique styled hotel and the beautiful rooms that are so beautiful with the turquoise lighting ( my favorite color). I feel safe traveling solo here and never have had any issues. I love the pool and bar area and the decor of this hotel. They offer valet parking which I didn't need as I used car service from the brightline but have always trusted my trucks with their valet attendants. First time being at this hotel. The employees are super nice and helpful. You check in and then you go to another building which they have a restaurant. Which looked nice. The elevators are a bit slow, the hotel was built in 1920. Its a big elevator. The bedroom is super nice. My partner is a globalist so we got a really nice room. I wish they had a little more amenities in the bathroom like make up remover, cotton and shower cap. If they did have it, I didn't see it. I do have to say, its loud at night. I couldn't really sleep. People were still out partying at 4am. If you don't mind loud then this place is good. The view of the main road was nice, I got to people watch. They also have beach service where they bring out the chairs and have service. We didn't have time since we had to board the Royal Caribbean ship. Check out was super easy. Five stars for the location and awesome amenities. This hotel was the perfect place to stay at for a quick Miami getaway located walking distance to the beach and all the main things you could possibly want. After a long day of travel, we received two Prosecco as soon as we checked in and arrived. Our room was upgraded and it was located right across on top of the Naked Taco where the rooftop pool is at. It's perfectly located for anything you want to do, all the good food spots, bars, places, etc. The next day we went straight to the beach and they provide complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrellas upon request and you just walk yourself to the beach with them. There's nothing like Miami Beach! The water was perfect and it felt so good to just defrost on the sand and dive into the gorgeous turquoise water. After a few hours at the beach, we went back, enjoyed late check out and headed to crunch fitness - which was absolutely worth it! We were able to leave our bags at the front desk while we worked out, grabbed a late lunch, some drinks and then got to come back and enjoy the rooftop pool during happy hour for drinks and snacks until sunset. Absolutely anemic experience with hidden fees, such as a supposed "resort fee"; I am appalled that this is a Hyatt property. Nothing about this hotel is resort-like, let alone a "Dream". Firstly, the room was gaudy and poorly cleaned; I had yellow residue on the safe in my room, which I don't even want to know what it was. I had chips in paint all over the ceiling and walls, and the lights would randomly turn off as if the power went out. The biggest kicker is that if you aren't on the 1st floor, you're in the same building as a restaurant, whose staff will constantly confuse you for a patron, engaging you in unnecessary conversation and trying to sell you on their food/drinks. The elevator is dingy and banged up, with the buttons working sometimes correctly on a good day. Secondly, the fees are ridiculous. $45 dollars a day before tax for a "resort fee"?! This is for towels at the pool and beach they say. The towel they supply for the beach is child-sized. The also make you sign a contract that states that if you even dirty any of the items you will be liable for each individual item; yikes, I guess I should dry clean their overpriced lawn chair before returning. Their "resort fee"-worthy towel, btw, is only worth $10 to them if you lose it, not the exorbitant $45 they state that giving you a re-used rag is. This was motel quality for nice hotel pricing; absolute waste of money - ruined my vacation. Go literally anywhere else. read more

We have found our new favorite staycation spot! This is the very first DREAM brand I try out in the Hyatt portfolio and WOW - I'm impressed. DREAM South Beach is EXCEPTIONAL value for money. We will now ALWAYS stay here whenever we come to Miami for our annual cruises and frequent stopovers. LOCATION: The most perfect spot in South Beach (just behind the former Versace Mansion); a block from the ocean; 5-min walk to Muscle Beach and a myriad of different restaurants and entertainment venues; about 15-min. Uber or Lyft to the Miami Port / cruise ship terminals. SERVICE: Outstanding staff EVERYWHERE - from the front desk rockstars and sweet MANAGER(S), who stuck with me/my reservation even after my flights were delayed by a day and a half from Europe [!!!]; to KELLY & JUSTIN at the rooftop bar, refilling my drinks and changing my umbrellas constantly to the rotating sun; to the kitchen and their tasty 3-meat campechano tacos; to the Housekeeping staff, who left my bathrooms and bedroom in my Platinum Suite shining; to Security, always keeping an eye on odd fellas wandering and escorting them out if not guests. Every single person I encountered at this hotel was the epitome of excellence in service. POOL / OTHER AMENITIES: SO much to do! They have so many cool activities going on -- and are also very good at keeping guests updated about the best spots and events in their neighborhood. They even have FREE yoga (Sat. & Wed.), FREE salsa classes and dancing Friday nights; floating Blackjack games st their rooftop pool on Saturdays; insane Taco Tuesday food & drink specials ALL DAY; etc. And of course, the well-reviewed resto and bar BAR TACO is just downstairs, in-property. Each side has its own full bathroom AND own lighted vanity - so its the perfect room for families, 2 couples or friends traveling together. I loved it and will def. book it again. FOOD: Only place where I got mixed feelings. As a Hyatt Globalist (top Hyatt elite status), I received a daily voucher for complimentary full breakfast entree, one juice, and one coffee or tea per person. I tried the huevos rancheros my first morning - too dry :( Not enough sauce nor cheese, nor spicy enough. Very well seasoned otherwise, so I think if the chef adds more of the sauce and makes it bolder in chair and spice, he / she will certainly have a winner here. The location of the hotel can't be beat if you want to be around nightlife or the beach. Other than that, not much good to say. We got breakfast vouchers we couldn't use because they didn't start serving until 730am and we had 10am flights. After a rough night of sleep (on a happening street, after all, but not going to complain about that) we were looking forward to coffee in the lobby because there isn't any in the room but the tiny carafe was empty. Design aesthetics of the room/suite was questionable - you walk through the door and are between the glass-door shower and the glass-door water closet - and overall this hotel is just *tired*. Dirty carpet, chipped paint, lights that don't work, water that didn't get hot (in both bathrooms), threadbare and torn cushions on the rooftop patio, unprepared bar/bartender... I really wanted to like this property but will look to stay somewhere fresher the next time we're in Miami Beach. read more

This hotel definitely feels like a budget hotel. I stayed on the side with the restaurant and the hallways were dark (no windows) and musty. The rooms were not terrible but they were dark too and street-facing without noise-canceling windows. I booked for my birthday weekend and my partners first time in Miami. I booked using a third party and the guy who checked me in chose to give me a bit of a lecture on why I shouldn't do that. He made me feel like I was "less than" for having booked third party. The location is pretty good and it was nice having the pool on the rooftop. The restaurant downstairs was pretty good too. We ate there a couple times. Giving 3 stars for location, amenities and the cleaning staff was super nice and great. read more

We arrived way earlier than check in time. The staff checked us in and held our luggage while we walked around for a while until our suite would be ready. We got back after about 2 hours which was still an hour and a half before regular check in. There was a very handsome young man that assured us the staff was in the room getting it ready. He said he was going to check.. a little time later we were told to head up to the room. Heading down the hallway, same handsome young man was guiding us to the room... I opened the door to find a room full of streamers and balloons and a bottle of champagne on ice, they knew it was my birthday and went beyond and above to make it special! Dream South Beach is in a convenient near the beach location, with a patio out front good for relaxing and people watching. The rooms are really cute as well. Staff is nice and there is a restaurant and a rooftop pool on premises. The biggest down side is no fridge or microwave in the room. My understanding is that you can request a mini fridge, but I didn't realize that until the end of my stay. There was also no towel rack near the shower, so you have to walk across the room wet and cold to get to a towel. It was also odd that to get to my room I had to walk through the restaurant to get to a very slow elevator. Dream is affiliated with Hyatt, so you get the same Hyatt perks if you are a World of Hyatt rewards member. I enjoyed my stay at Dream, but whenever the rooms were last remodeled there were some design choices that are not ideal. read more

The amenities were all better as advertised, heard no noise through the walls, and the rooftop bar and restaurant had great views food and drinks The one thing keeping this from 5 stars is there is no early check in. Yes they say there is, but there isn't. I asked before my trip and when I booked to see if it's possible, I got there and they said they would text and call me when my room was ready. No text or call came. So when I arrived at 4pm to get to my room, there were two other families in the lobby. One families room wasn't even ready at check in, and the other family that came got told the room wasn't going to be ready until 4, so I wonder why I got my own odd answer about getting or call or text if my room was ready which never came. Also, the customer service for the early check in was quite worse than any other time I stayed. Everyone else on the staff was phenomenal my whole trip... just not at the very beginning. Other than that hiccup in the beginning- great stay. read more

I don't have any photos due to my busy weekend in South Beach. Checking in and our stay at the hotel was pleasant. It felt clean and well-maintained for an older building. The shower and bathroom configurations in our rooms were a little interesting with there being no "designated" Bathroom and more of the entryway is the shower/ bathroom area. I enjoyed my stay here. When it came to valet, I needed to get my car and only had 2 of our 3 valet tickets for the weekend, it took almost 45 minutes to find my car and then more time to bring it to the hotel. I understand that the SOBE WFF is at the same time, but I feel it took a long time. I would stay here again, just plan more accordingly for cars as it can be a hassle. read more

When Royal Caribbean literally kicked us to the curb at 8:30am, I was scrambling to figure out where to go until our 4pm check-in time. Turns out, seeking refuge at a private medical library which is only open to students was a poor choice. Big props to Dream South Beach for allowing us an early check in, which was so much appreciated. Upon entering our room, the lights automatically set to "Mood", casting dramatic shadows in every nook and corner. Towels are available at their rooftop pool near Highbar, just give your name and room number. Towels and beach loungers are also available at Miami Beach, just give your name and room number. An oversized umbrella can be rented for $20/day. The front desk and maintenance staff were so courteous and helpful. They applied stamps to my postcards and put them in their mail drop. The front curb has ride-share spots for all your Uber/Lyft pickups. And talk about a great location. We walked most everywhere, except to Lincoln Road mall. The staff was just as accommodating when asked if I could extend my stay. I would happily return when in the area read more

Title: Unacceptable Service and Delayed Check-In at Dream South Beach, Miami I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Dream South Beach in Miami. My husband arrived at the hotel at midnight after a long day of travel, only to be met with unnecessary delays and rude treatment from the assistant manager. Despite having booked in advance and notifying customer service two days prior of changes to our stay due to my illness, my husband was forced to wait while they nitpicked over a membership policy. If the staff had questions about the policy or weren't clear on the details, they could have simply allowed him to check in and figured it out the next morning, especially since he was staying for two more days. Instead, they chose to make the process unnecessarily difficult, delaying his check-in at a time when he just needed to rest. To make matters worse, the assistant manager was rude and dismissive throughout the interaction, showing no concern for the inconvenience caused. It was an extreme and unnecessary approach to what should have been a straightforward process. For a hotel that claims to partner with the World of Hyatt program, I expected far better communication, professionalism, and understanding from the staff. This experience was beyond frustrating, and I won't be staying at Dream South Beach again. read more

I stayed at Dream Hotel for one night. It's an okay hotel that is not worth the money. Primarily because they have very poor Valet Service. They parked my Rental car down the Street for Valet Service, and I walked in the rain, getting drenched and possibly damaging my $3,000 Louis Vuitton Backpack. read more

Just got back from a four night stay. Definitely not worth the price I paid. The room is very dark as they use dim lighting. I got used to it after the 2nd day but it was so hard to see when applying make-up. The bed is super uncomfortable as there's a huge dip on the right side of the bed. The room itself was small but I already knew that. There was peeling wallpaper, broken toilet handle but I could still flush the toilet. The area the hotel is in is very loud. People party all day and night. I can hear music coming from next door so it was a little hard trying to sleep. Also the noisy neighbors next door didn't help either. When I checked out in the morning, the young lady at the desk asked if I needed help with transportation. I said no and that I would call an Uber. She asked how much the Uber would cost. I looked and it said $39. She then said a cab is $35 flat rate. So I said sure I'll take a cab so she called one for me. Well when I got to the airport, the driver informed me that the fare was $40. The only thing I liked about the hotel is the Naked Taco restaurant. You can order food and they'll bring it up to the room. I would not stay at this hotel again unless it was under $100 a night. Anything over $100 is just way too much. I think at one point this hotel was cool but not anymore. They seriously need an update. The reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because the people at desk were really nice. read more

Good food but extremely loud music outside. Again could not hear the waitress. Paid with a cc. When we got up to the room we discovered the resort fee gives 10% off. I wish we had known prior. Dinner had 3% service charge and 18% tip. We would of saved $8.90. Our room is beautiful. This is a party hotel. Loud group next door. Ended up pretty quiet. Dissapointed the only food available at the pool is the Naked Taco. No outdoor food allowed except people did bring in their own from the market accross the street. read more

*!! WE WERE ROBBED BY STAFF !! AVOID THIS HOTEL !!* When my girlfriend and I arrived to check in, everything seemed normal, but our room wasn't ready yet. The woman at the front desk offered to store our bags while we waited, which we accepted. They tagged our bags and gave us a ticket. Later that day, when we finally got to our room, I opened my bag to get some cash for the night, I discovered that ALL OF IT WAS GONE!! I had $2000 dollars in cash in a side pocket of my luggage. We immediately went down to the concierge desk to report the theft. They seemed unconcerned and informed us that there were no security cameras in the storage area. They then directed us to an unattended security office, essentially telling us that nothing could be done. We were in possession of our bags the entire day until we gave them to the front desk. There was no way that it could have been stolen elsewhere. This incident not only shocked us but also severely impacted the rest of our stay in South Beach. I will be filing a police report and leaving a negative review on this hotel every day until this is resolved. I expect more from a Hyatt. Avoid this hotel at all cost. read more

Really cute boutique hotel in South Beach. We booked two long rooms at a very affordable rate.. The rooms are awesome! Very clean, separate toilet/sink room from the shower, loved it. Ask for a corner king room if you are able to. We had a small room but beautifully decorated and with just enough space for a weekend. The concierge was attentive and prompt and very friendly, and we were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco. Valet guys were great. Bar and pool staff on the roof top were so sweet and kind. We dined downstairs at the Mexican restaurant where we had great service. Be careful-- some things might be way more expensive than you expect. (I ordered a simple margarita, which was very delicious-- and on the bill I saw I was served a Cadillac margarita for $24. This is a thing in South Beach, though, so be specific when you order. Or else you'll get the most expensive thing! Again-- that's just south beach in general). Aside from that, I was not fussing over an expensive drink. I had a great time with my family here and I would definitely go back. Everyone had a smile and a personality. read more

Whoever took the pictures on their website deserves a 5 star because it was not what it looked like at all. Definitely not a 4 star. I'll list pros and cons: Pros: People working the front desk were nice Location was around the corner from Ocean Drive and the beach and we spent most of our time there Everything is walkable for a quick vacation Cons: Very run down, everything in the room was rusted or chipped and the whole room was very very dark. I called the front desk to request a lamp. I think they kept it dark so you can't see how run down the place is. There is basically no lobby. You just walk in there to get to the elevator to get to your room. Corridors had water issues, the walls and ceilings had clear water damage - pictures attached. No privacy within the room at all. As soon as you walk in the room there's a clear door to the shower on your left and a clear door to the toilet and sink to your right. No changing area and no drawer space, hardly any closet space. I lived out of my suitcase. Was there for 3 nights and honestly if it was any more I'd end up switching hotels. read more

DONT BELIEVE THE PICTURES!! First of all.... This hotel is really old. They added paint and a few Amazon light fixtures and took good pictures to make it look "new-ish" but it's not. It's like 1970 in there. Also their pool closes at 7pm. I never even went in the pool since it closed so stupid early. It's super dark in the rooms and it was so hard to do my makeup. Overall not a place I would ever stay at again. Im used to the intercontinental and hotels like that. I only stayed here because it was my ocean drive. But I will also never be staying in this area again when I go to Miami. It's for like 18-23 year olds. Even Vegas circus circus is better than this place. read more

We stayed at Dream for our honeymoon in February 2023 and had a blast! The front desk and concierge teams were fanatic- super informative, quick to help with any issues, and very nice. The rooms were spotless and pretty. The restaurant (Naked Taco) and the bar on the roof were delicious and service was great. The pool and pool equipment were well maintained and relaxing. The beach was also great! Dream is also located in a gorgeous area (Art Deco district) and surrounded by quality restaurants, bars, entertainment, etc. There is no free parking at Dream (or really anywhere else in south beach) so you can either pay valet parking $45/day or you can use a parking garage. We used a parking garage on 13th street which also featured charging for electric vehicles. Quick heads up- there are no coffee makers or mini fridges in the room, but you can ask the front desk to bring you a mini fridge. We bought bottles iced coffee from a corner store nearby. All in all, an amazing vacation and a wonderful honeymoon! A huge thank you to the Dream team for making our trip so great. read more

This was my first time staying in South Beach with my wife. We stayed in late July so the price to stay was much lower than peak season (winter). The staff is VERY friendly here, they made us feel extremely welcomed upon arrival. Our room wasn't ready yet but they held our bags and let us use the rooftop pool and bar while we waited. Pool is small but big enough to wade and enjoy the sun. A pool attendant sets up chairs and towels for you when you show up. Very nice touch. The bar is adequate, though expensive. $13 for a frozen drink, $7 beer (cans) $30 for a bucket of 5 beers. We opted for the bucket as it was slightly more economical and we could mix and match different beers in it. Would be a nice touch if hotel gave a discount for guests staying at the hotel, but not likely in Miami. Noise: YMMV. The walls are very thin. We could hear people bantering in the hallway, doors slamming, etc. Street noise was also annoying but it was fairly minimal for us as our room was on the backside of the building. I've stayed in Manhattan before and that was much worse. Room amenities: No coffee machine. This was a killer for me. Only options are to get it from room service ($14) or venture outside. Has the dream faded away? I was really looking forward to staying at this boutique hotel after living in NYC for 8 years when Dream Hotel was THE place to stay. But everything was just mediocre. I understand that the travel industry is still trying to recuperate from the pandemic but this is also Florida where the pandemic is not being taken that seriously. I stayed in room 111 and the window in the room is directly next to a bar/restaurant and they do play music till about 2 AM. I actually wasn't bothered by the noise because I feel if you're going to stay in a big city/ tourist destination noise is some thing you just have to deal with. It would've been nice if the hotel offered ear plugs. The lighting in the room was very dim which made it hard to do my make up. The mini bar was not stocked. The room does not have a refrigerator or microwave. I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night in March during spring break. This is apparently the reason for the cost being so high. Once all was said and done with taxes and fees I paid $1,063.62. I stayed here as a solo traveler. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was because I was under the impression that they had lounge chairs in a certain section of the beach that they maintained themselves. This is not the case. Dream Hotel has partnered with a company that rents out beach chairs to anyone that comes to the beach. You do get the chair for free but once you have it you're then on your own. So as a solo traveler I did not feel comfortable leaving my chair and my belongings alone on the beach while I went into the water. This also meant that there was no food or drinks available to buy either. I feel like the hotel gave false advertising regarding the beach situation. On the Friday night the upstairs bar closed at like 10 PM. As a solo traveler I was relying on the hotel to provide the things that I needed because I did not want to go out on my own. So it was a little frustrating that the amenities closed early or were not as advertised. Also, whenever I went to the bar or pool area there wasn't a lot of people there. It just seemed weird that a popular hotel during spring break wouldn't be packed with a lot of people. I might give the dream hotel franchise another chance but probably not at South Beach. The staff was very nice and professional. When you stay at a hotel like this you expect things to be top notch, you expect a certain vibe for the money you're spending and this just was not the case. read more

Hotel did not meet our expectations. We looked it up before booking and we obviously got catfished. How the hotel is advertised made us think we were staying somewhere beautiful. The elevator was small box. The pool was small and rusted. We didn't have a desire to get in it. The room was small when you walk in what you see is what you get. The bed was stiff. To get ice you had to go to the counter to get it, and the lady that worked in the evening wasn't too friendly. If we needed beverages we had to get them from the counter ant they weren't put in a fridge. No microwave to warm food up if needed. If we could of get a refund the first day we got there we would've booked somewhere else. But we made the best of it. But would not recommend... You get what you pay for I guess. We would've been better off at a holiday inn or Marriott. read more

Took my mother to the rooftop bar (in April) for happy hour at the bar and met a kind gentleman named Justin. He was helpful in making recommendations for us (we're from Deerfield Beach) and was super accommodating during our short visit. The only thing I'd suggest to the owner or the bartender is to keep the dining area at the rooftop a little cleaner. Not the end of the world, but it does make a difference as an experience for guests. You can tell the tables needed a little TLC from previous guests. The drinks were great though!
