This cafe sits on the old town square plaza. They serve traditional Czech cuisine. Food is great. Service was pretty good. If you're in Prague, check out the astronomical clock then step over and enjoy some Czech food and beer.

Came here as part of a tour, and was super good! I had the beef with the sauce on top - I guess that's one of their traditional plates. Would definitely come back! Super full afterwards.

Yummy pork medallions with mashed potatoe and chilli sauce...

We were visiting the main square today when we started feeling hungry and we came across this restaurant.. They had an outdoor seating area with heaters and blankets.. I thought that was very cool that they added the extra touch (blankets) for the customers to feel comfortable and warm while dining... we ordered the lamb sausage, and garlic bread as appetizer.. As for entrees we ordered the pork ribs with mashed potato and pork medallion with mashed potato. As most of the fellow yelpers mentioned, the portions are very small here but again the location of the restaurant is what makes it worth it to go and dine there... And that is how this place got 4 star review from me... The service was very attentive and our waitress was very friendly... There is nothing really bad about this place besides small portions..:-)

We had a great experience here. A very touristy place in the old town square that charges double the price if you seat outside hahaha what a concept. Anyhow, we visited in August 2010, and sat inside with an outside view which was a great deal. I really loved the duck here, so soft and succulent served with their steamed bread and pickled cabbage - so good! We loved their fresh Czech pilsners on tap - Urquell and Kozel hit the spot on a hot summer day! The chocolate crepe at the end was ok.

Foods is delicious...like the pork chop dish and roast pork dish..which is quite good. We top up with the desserts ice cream and chocolate fondant, taste really good. Bill not included service charge, it said in your bill that proposed 10_15 percent of tip. Having said that the service was good.

Two of us had the roast duckling that was so tender and flavorful. A third had a pork dish that he loved. Great view, food, and drink!

Our first traditional Czech restaurant. Very good. Surprised that Goulash isn't a stew! Who knew?! Good food good service.

Rude service, and overcharge you. We complained to the manager and he was dismissive and rude.

If you are looking for a very lively place that seats about thirteen hundred guests per day and has twelve tanks of beer, and the beer hall vibe then this spot is most certainly for you. Close to the Old Town square it is not at all touristy, the service is good and the prices are very fair for what you get. K ordered the Goulash, and I had the Chicken Schnitzel along with a beetroot salad to share. The food was plentiful and very good, especially the goulash gravy which was a deep colour that had amazing flavour. The schnitzel was not as big as the plate, but I couldn't finish it. K had a glass of wine and I a beer for about $64 CDN, which is good in Prague. Our only quibble was that the beetroot salad turned into a cabbage salad with horseradish. It was also good, but not what we ordered. We would most certainly come back and endure the half hour wait to experience and enjoy what is a somewhat unique European offering.

We are early diners and the only couple near us were also Americans on holiday. Our server spoke excellent English and guided us through the menu choices. After an appetizer of tomatoes and cucumbers in a light dressing, I ordered the sirloin in cream and my wife the trout filet. The food, like the service, was superb. Our server surprised us with a complimentary "shot" of a very strong Czeck liqueur at the end of the meal. we had a grand time and hope you will too!!

It was a pleasant walk from the Hilton Atrium Hotel, and the weather was beautiful. We arrived and were immediately seated and brought menus. The decor is nothing special, and it spoke to a nice Czech restaurant vibe. Our server was very good, promptly returning to get our drink order (I had a glass of Chardonnay and we both had waters). We were not super hungry, so we bypassed the appetizer and salad selections and went straight for the entree menu. My wife chose the Goulash and I selected the Grilled Chicken Breast. Our meals arrived shortly, and they were both hot. My wife loved the Goulash, which was accompanied by two large potato dumpling pieces. The gravy was thick and flavorful and the meat was fork-tender and delicious. My Chicken was a bit tough, but had pretty good flavor with the sauce. It was also served with a side of Gnocchi, that paired nicely with the dish. The advertised cauliflower and peas were a bit sparse, but the Gnocchi made up for it. Service was very good, with our water glasses refilled frequently and servers asking if everything was good. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal, though the Chicken could have been a bit more tender. If we get back to Prague, we would definitely like to come back and try one of the Duck dishes as well as the goose liver pate' appetizer. Ambiance - 9/10 Service - 10/10 Food - 9/10 Value - 10/10

I was about to order a glass of wine when I saw the Pilsner Urquell in the three styles. Although the menu did not have the official name, I opted for The Cut (aka Šnyt), which is more foam than beer. For dinner, I went with the Veal & Cheese Rissole. The breading provided plenty of flavor to the veal & pork combo. The mashed potato had a very creamy texture. Unfortunately, the cucumber salad was the least favorite of the three. The shredded cucumber was akin to sauerkraut being drowned in water. I regretfully passed on the dessert. From my vantage point, I could not see anyone ordering dessert. Even more regrettable, before I left, I discovered the restroom was not well cleaned.

Having had just arrived in Prague earlier that day and having cycled 100+ kilometers, I was quite famished when I arrived. I hadn't made a reservation but being a singleton at an early evening hour, the staff found me a table quickly. I started by ordering an alcohol-free beer and then I perused the menu. Marek, the waiter, soon came to my aide and helped me pick out a hearty portion: dumplings, of course! For dessert, I also had another set of dumplings and I loved both dishes.
