If I could give 0 stars I would. This was a birthday cake, we were told we were getting a red velvet cake, when I called to order it, they did say they COULD do red velvet though it may be a darker color. When we cut into it last night, the 6 people at the table all agreed it was chocolate, no taste of beets they use to make the red velvet. The decorations on top were also wrong, red flowers not chocolate flowers. When I called this morning to ask what happened, I felt dismissed by the owner when I expressed how upset I was. When I am told by 6 people it was definitely chocolate flavoring, that's what it was. I have been celiac for over 10 years, I know what a red velvet cake made with beets tastes like. read more

Luckily stumbled upon this bakery because they have a section at my local ShopRite that has some of their best sellers for sale. Fantastic options for those with allergies, but honestly I would love these even if I could consume dairy/soy/gluten. I highly recommend the vegan chocolate chocolate chip cookies - they taste like brownies. So dang good! Looking forward to trying some of their other goodies but so far what I've tried has been delicious. read more

We ordered a birthday carrot cake and couldn't have been happier. The staff was very diligent and patient in designing the cake. The quality was excellent and the last piece eaten five days later was still moist and fresh. You would never know this was a vegan cake it was so delicious. read more

I've come here twice and have yet to leave a review I think. But a gluten free, dairy free, and a lot of free, this is such a great place to come too, as someone who has been trying to practice more veganism, this was my place to grab a sweet. I was really really CRAVINNG for chocolate cake and I saw that this place offered a vegan red velvet chocolate cake. I was like woah I'm all for it, so I placed the order online and then it was ready the next day so I picked it up. They also put some lettering on it which is great for customizations. I also ordered the chocolate chocolate chip cookies which were also vegan. What I enjoyed about their food was that it was very moist and the texture is different than other usual vegan things. A lot of the times, most desserts are difficult to nail the texture and the mouth feel but both items were sweet but not too much and texture was great and tasty. Off the beaten path location! Closest thing to real bread we have ever had! Seriously amazing Challah and unlike most GF breads, it didn't need to be toasted. It was delicious. The baked goods are great too and they had Halloween sugar cookies! Wish it was closer. Will be back again for sure. The Brookie (brownie cookie) was super yummy and moist. I ordered a cake for my son's 3rd birthday. We were going to celebrate at his school, hence there were restrictions. Nut-free. It was so difficult to find a nut-free cake! Finally found this gem! We had a Rescue Bot themed party, so wanted the cake to have a bot on it or the entire cake to be a rescue bot. Linda was very helpful. She sent us few images and how it can be done. Price was reasonable. We paid $85 for a 20 person cake. I was skeptical initially to be honest, but it turned out to be so delicious! Sorry I doubted it! The teachers even asked where we bought it so that other parents could get it from the same place if they want to. Happily recommended it to them. Best Vegan Dessert ive evwr had. We got my sons 1st birthday vegan cupcake here. I love that is is a cleaner alternative bakery with a wonderful seasonal selection. My son and i go in several times a month for the vegan Graham crackers. Highly recommend the almond cranberry bites , beware theyre addictingly delicious. I cant get enough. It was not exactly what I was expecting when I entered. However, very helpful staff, and reasonable amount of options. Prepackaged choices. Grab and go. Bags of 6 cake balls. Small pies. Medium pies. Special orders. For someone who hasn't had pie in two years I was very happy with the three things I tried. The people I went with who don't eat a specific diet weren't nearly as impressed though they did enjoy the treats to an extent. If you're hooked on sugar and are expecting the same sweetness and rush, want to grab one of a few things to try them all, or are looking to sit down and have a treat at a table... I don't think it's a good choice. However if your off gluten, soy, dairy and sugar... and don't mind grabbing pre-packaged tasty bits of sweetness. Go! read more

Very good products. I bought some of their products at a supermarket, brownies and carrot muffins. Very good and satisfying. I stumbled upon their bakery today and glad I did. They have many choices. The girl was very nice and helpful behind the counter. I chose the Snickerdoodle cookies and she told me it was a new product. They were delicious and fresh and just had the right amount of spice. They, of course, are more expensive than other products but it's quality, not quantity. You won't need to eat as many to be satisfied. I will be back. read more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I went to Starseed Bakery this morning with my boyfriend because I've been craving baked goods. The challah bread, apple cider donuts, lemon poppy seed muffins, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are all so amazing! Finding delicious gluten, dairy, soy and gmo free foods is difficult, but this place is definitely a gem! Very good prices too considering the ingredients are organic. I ordered a specialty cake for my child's birthday and provided photos as well as spoke to the owner on the phone regarding the cake. When I went to pick up the cake, the cake made was very different from the cake I requested. The color and the decorations were horrendous- it looked like something a child would make. The "Happy birthday" writing was not neat at all and looked like they messed up one of the letters and then tried to correct it by writing over it. Most importantly the decorations that I requested and paid extra for were nowhere on the cake. When I spoke to the owner regarding the issue, there was really not much she was willing to do. She tried to explain why she didn't put the requested decorations. One would think that she would contact me first about not being able to decorate the cake as requested but she took it upon herself to just go with what she thought would be best. Furthermore, She wouldn't even negotiate on providing a discount on the cake. She stated that the cake was "delicious" which is really besides the point as a child is more interested in the cake decorations than the taste. The worst part of it is that my child's birthday was the next day which left us with no options in terms of ordering the cake that he so much wanted. I would not recommend this business and will definitely never order nor shop there again. read more

Starseed has a great variety of products AND THEY ARE ALL gluten free. They are processed in an entirely gluten free facility where no other food is processed that might contain contaminants. Many bakeries sell what they claim to be gluten free goods, but if they are produced on the same facility as gluten containing food, they cannot be gluten free. read more

Hey Luiza, WHY didn't you ever ask the employee's name? Did you know they have many interns who work there? Did you ever ask for the owner or leave a message? Your experience is so bizarre, it's almost like you were someplace else. Linda understands World Class Customer Service and that's what she delivers to every customer, every day, no matter what! While she may have been busy with a Wholesale Account when you were there, she still deserved to hear about it because she bends over backwards every time! Yes, they do have plain brown bags, but they tie a ribbon on it because they are so proud of every artistic thing they bake. They even use the non-toxic see thru plant based packaging instead of the cheap plastic junk. Did you even know they won an award from the Small Business Association's Service Corps of Retired Executives for being so Green? I really resent the hit & run tone of your review. This place deserves more gratitude and patronage for the awesome service they are providing on a daily basis- non-toxic, real food treats!
