He showed me stretches to help with knee soreness when running, how to engage the right muscles after sitting all day, and my favorite stretch to align my shoulders. Prices are reasonable (when I was there $75 for an individual session, $50 each for a group of two) and Juan is great at having a plan for each session yet being flexible to individual requests. (I also met another trainer Lindsi who I would be excited about working with as well.) A nice perk is that they offer more than an hour of training -- Juan follows up, offers nutrition guidance, encourages you to get other exercise, and provides advice on home repairs (okay, maybe just me on that last one.) With this being more of an upset than Woodstock 89' , I was fairly bummed. However I began to drift towards the dark side as I often found myself peeking into the CrossFit side of the gym as my curiosity grew... Taboo, I know. After a turn of events, my stoke-meter began to rise as I slowly started to use some chalk and utilize my shirt as my own personal sweat towel. Not after long I caught myself jogging on the treadmill with a weighted vest, while listening to some Toby Kieth and Jimmy Buffet. This dojo soon became my own personal Margaritaville. Since my initiation I have became severely addicted to ankle socks and completing the Workout of the Day. I totally recommend this place to anyone who wants to voyage to the dark side of the moon.

I was one of those kids in college that got up and went to the Rec before class to run suicides or lift weights. The first thing I did when I moved to Columbus was join a gym - before I even had an apartment. I've joined Boss a year ago and I'm not sure I've done the same exercise twice. Not exaggerating at all. No one is sulking around, there are no cell phones, theres ZERO judgement. It's impossible to have a bad workout here. There's abundant energy and motivation. The grueling workouts are fun and the time flies. I'm a better person everytime I walk out of the building. Taj and James are important people in my life. They both push and care about me. I talk business with James after workouts. Neighborhoods and real estate with Taj. They ask if everything is ok if I miss a couple days. I admire every single person that is a member at BOSS. If you go mostly all in the morning or mostly all at night you'll cycle through the same 2-3 trainers. The advantage of this is they get to know you and know your strengths - and know when to push your limits. The other nice thing is you get a different workout perspective from each trainer - Amy is more focused on high intensity cardio with lifting as an accent, Nate is more focused on lifting, with cardio as an accent. Rob falls somewhere in the middle. I can't speak much for the morning trainers, since I mostly go after work. It's group-based classes - I've been there with anywhere between 2 and 15 people on any particular day - and a couple of times it was just me and the trainer! Each time the trainer is able to accommodate with a set of stations that you'll rotate through and get a great workout. The exercises change up each day which makes sure it's never monotonous and makes the hour go by quickly. You'll never do the same workout twice, guaranteed!
