Living in the woods after experiencing a total loss fire was a bit nerve-racking, but we fell in love with this property in the redwoods. I knew we needed to do a bunch of large tree branch cutting for safety and also aesthetic purposes. Also we needed removal of fire risk dead branches on the ground all over the property and on steep forest hillsides. I had no idea how to tackle this new type of property maintenance, as we never had to do this type of tree work in Los Angeles, as well as we didn't have any local resources yet. I was really hoping that we could find someone here that we could trust with our beautiful old redwood trees - but still be affordable. After meeting Victor, we did an extensive property walkthrough to go over all of our goals, questions, and concerns. He spent so much time talking through it all with us, and I was so relieved to find that he was SO good with his attention to details, wealth of knowledge, and great communication skills. I felt in good hands with Victor overseeing the job itself, knowing he would be on site to make sure all the details we had discussed and confirmed would in fact be completed - as we had imagined & planned. I know often unfortunately the reality of a sales guy who can promise a lot, but doesn't actually deliver when it comes to the job getting complete. But Victor had both the knowledge of how to proceed with what we needed on this job and price it accordingly in the most fair way, AND great on site management skills to lead a large crew of guys and equipment to accomplish the job so seamlessly. His communication along the way was helpful too, as he always answered texts or called back quickly in the planning process before the job started. We are so very happy with how the job went! The entire crew was on point, professional and really good at what they do, many of the guys have been in this industry for over 15-20 years! The property looks absolutely amazing, like a fresh makeover on beautiful old trees - making them safer with less fire risk, and also trimming back and shaping them to their best health and appearance. We are so happy and grateful for finding Victor! He is very professional, kind, communicative, knowledgable, and reliable. He is very thorough and detail oriented and his prices are very fair as well. After going through so much stress this year with losing everything, it has been a relief that this large job has been such an easy and calm experience. We hired Earthcare Landscaping to install a design in our backyard in August 2015. This included…read moreleveling and amending the soil, installing drip irrigation throughout including for California native plants and a small blue fescue lawn, installing a small paver area, and refinishing our deck. Our plant irrigation has held up well, though most of the plants did not survive and we ended up replacing them ourselves with other plants. As I recall they were polite, punctual, and generally responsive. We had two major problems. Since the install three years ago, about 1/4 of our lawn has dies each year--slowly spreading from one side of the lawn to the other. Recently, we discovered the lawn with bubbling puddles of water in 4-5 places, and bone dry in others. The underground irrigation here is a total failure and unrecoverable, and so we have turned off the water there totally. As soon as we did, our water bill dropped dramatically. I am including pictures of the puddles. Additionally, at the time of our original service they claimed that they had someone experienced in refinishing decks. The final product was a mess, with uneven stain application, spattering, and poorly prepared wood. They agreed to reimburse us to hire someone else, which we appreciated. The painting company we hired was absolutely shocked at how our deck was done by Earthcare. It was a big effort for the company we hired to first undo, and then redo, the work that had been done by Earthcare. We would not hire Earthcare Landscaping again nor would we recommend them to friends.

Well worth the money and fun to watch these experts climb up the palm trees.

The shapes all look good and even, they were considerate and informed me beforehand whenever they suggested trimming more than might be expected and the tree may "look weird" for a little bit. The quote was same day and very quick. The team came the day after and managed to complete everything in one day. They were respectful of our recently seeded lawn. They took extra care with our huge pine tree in the front that had Christmas lights still on it (it's tough to take them down). Finally, they put in extra effort to leave us part of the chipped trimmings we requested for our compost bins, and took care to separate what they gave us from the oleander trimmings (which are poisonous and we didnt want). Tree trimming is expensive, but it was worth every penny!

About 9 years ago we had Tory come and trim our 50-year-old Jacaranda tree and we were very happy with the care and concern about the tree and their work. Today, we wanted to have the same people come back out and were happy to discover that they were still around and rebranded as Tree Cherubs. Tory remembered our tree and was happy that we remembered him, too. Once again, he showed his knowledge and understanding of the tree and, again, didn't allow any climbers with shoe spikes for fear of damaging the tree. They took great care in protecting the plants and property below. They worked efficiently and quickly and did a fantastic job for a very good price given the large amount of work they needed to accomplish. They left the yard clean and neat and did a wonderful job at not cutting too much or just topping the tree like so many other tree trimming companies do. We highly recommend using Tree Cherubs (formally We Care Tree Care) and will be using them again in the future.
