Creole Steak - 3.5/5 - Not bad, but nothing special. The creole butter was nice, but the steak itself was ok. Alfredo Pasta - 3.5/5 - Same as above; nothing special, but not bad. Service - 5/5 - All prompt waiters and waitresses, even had the manager come and check on us! Very patient with our requests and even when we had a few issues paying, all worked out well. We came to this restaurant on Saturday afternoon around 2:15pm. There is patio that customers could enjoy the Sun. Today, my husband just finished the 5K foam race at Horseshoe Valley Resort. We were not really feeling hungry, because we ate some ice cream and snacks before we came. We were trying to look for some small portion food to fill up before we drove back to Toronto. We walked in from the front door, and requested to sit outside, and we moved to different tables to try to sit under the shadows. The host was so patient to wait until we found our nice sitting place. The pretty waitress came to serve us the cold water, but my family all wanted warm water instead. She got us nice warm water back. And nicely told us that the Happy Hours time just started. Same portion, but cheaper price. We needed some time to decide our orders, as we were not that hungry. I picked Terriyaki Chicken bowl for my parents in law, that they could split up, then my husband got a Chicken Enchiladas, and I got Calamari. The food came out not too long. And the waitress served the Terriyaki Chicken into 2 bowls for us already, because we told her my parents in law would share it. She was so considerate. The Children Enchiladas has soft burrito with chicken, beans, some chips and salsas, jalapeno pepper on the side. Still big portion. I like my calamari, it was breaded, but not too dry inside, with breaded veggies mix. It was not really busy on Saturday afternoon, and I really enjoyed the Sun and relaxing time. read more

Came here for lunch while working in the area this week. I ordered the bison burger with mashed potatoes and french fries. Didn't wait that long before the food came out. The presentation was very nice. I've never tried bison meat before so this was new to me. The burger was good however the bison meat being lean was not as flavourful as beef. Still good though. The fries and the mashed potato was also very good. This is a nice place to go for lunch. Quick service and friendly wait staff. I would go there again. read more

February 2022: The food was COLD. We ordered a steak, burger, and a pasta dish. All 3 came and were COLD. How do you serve cold steak?! Our server was non-existent and the place was NOT busy. Not everything was lousy but the fact that the food was cold and the server did not seem to care was annoying...businesses are going bankrupt and that is the best you can do...I took my wife out for a meal and that is the best service you can give, angering and pathetic. Hostess: 5/5 - She was friendly, and said a friendly goodbye on the way out. Server: 2/5 - She was barely there (did not vote her as a one as she was not rude at least)...took her 10 minutes to get us drinks, 15 minutes to get us water (even though that was asked for at the start), and the food she served us, as noted before, was COLD. I assume cause she took to long to get it to us...the place did not seem short staffed at the time. Food: 3/5 - it was cold so unfortunately it kind of sucked right off... I went here for lunch on Friday and it was alright, nothing special. The waiter took a while to take our order so we were starving by the time the food arrived. I had the burrito bowl which comes with chicken, black beans, corn, onions, cheese, lettuce, over rice with chipotle sauce, lime, picco de gallo and guacamole. It wasn't anything special, and most of the bowl was rice-heavy. I was just here for lunch. First we were greeted at the door by a very nice hostess that made us feel welcome. She showed us to our table where we were met by our server Diana. Diana was so sweet & efficient & knew lots about the menu. We looked over the menu & placed our order. I ordered the Jalapeno Mac & Cheese. My friend ordered the steak sandwich. The mac & cheese was delicious, it was served in a cast iron pan & came with 2 pieces of garlic toast, it was piping hot. A pet peeve of mine is that often times the food isn't hot enough, it maybe sat too long before it came to the table. Not in this case, it was fresh & hot. My friends steak sandwich was very good as well. On the way out we made reservations for the following week for dinner for four. We are looking forward to going back & bringing more friends. Went here a few nights ago for my brother's birthday. There was a mess up in the reservation and they did not have ours for a party of 11. But...they accommodated us with a minimal wait. Service was quite good. But the food...was not. I had the spicey tuna bowl which had so much potential. But like many places the opportunity for flavour was traded for spiciness. So it was a bit unpleasant to eat. My husband had the Hawaiian strip loin. The pineapple marinade was not sufficient to infuse the steak with pineapple flavour. This place is terrific! Great spot to bring the family or take that special someone for a date. It's fancy, but casual, and has great food for affordable prices! It is a bit more expensive than Boston Pizza but not as bad as the Keg, and definitely a better value than both places. This restaurant is definitely a go-to when my family and friends can't think of anywhere else to try. The apps are amazing and they have great sandwiches. I came here before covid hit with a few friends for dinner and drinks, our server was friendly enough, the restaurant was not very busy and there were only three other tables while we were there and yet our server was nowhere to be found, we found ourselves waiting a long time to be served and helped and when we looked around at the three other groups they were doing the same thing. I used to go to Milestone's since they always had great service and the food was fantastic but once they changed their menu, everything was rather lukewarm...literally. I've been to State & Main a few times now and I have to say that I have never been disappointed. The food is always extremely hot and delicious. The servers go above and beyond. The manager is typically always on site to make sure any issues are resolved right away. I was there last night with a friend of mine before we saw a movie. We ordered the spinach dip to start and they even gave us the discounted 'happy hour' rate despite ordering it after 6. The dip came out quickly and it was delicious! We ran out of chips half way through and they brought us more. The server was amazing. She noticed that we hadn't seen each other in a while and needed some time to catch up so she simply said to leave the menus on the table next to us when we were done and she proceeded to come over promptly afterwards. Our food came out and it was very fresh and hot. She even gave me extra dill dip for my fries (which is AMAZING by the way). I ended up not feeling well half way through the evening and we were quickly given our bills and takeout containers to bring our meals home. Servers were friendly however almost never came to the table. My partner and I sat with empty drinks for 45 minutes before someone came back to our table. Average. They took the best parts of The Keg and Moxies and made them worse. We had 2 sandwiches, hoisin chicken and the spicy chicken. Portions are meager, one half of the spicy chicken sandwich was empty of filling, just bread. We asked for dill dip, got gravy. We we told the server of the mistake she then brought the forgotten dill dip AND charged us 1$ for it. Not the price that bothers me, but the principle. I have been State and Main countless times as I enjoy the atmosphere. The service is almost always top notch. One exception was Tuesday, June 25 at 8:30 pm. We went with two other couples to have drinks along with three other family members - the restaurant was empty but the hostess who greeted us was extremely rude when we said we wanted to sit at the long table near the bar - she seemed quite put out and asked us in an extremely annoyed tone if we had reservations. The place was literally empty. It really put a damper on our experience an made us feel unwelcome. Luckily our waitress was awesome and attentive. I enjoyed the flatbread I ordered and the others really liked the Parmesan chips. I'd love for State and Main to offer an antipasto tray as a appetizer - or cheese/olive sampler of some sort - or veggies/hummus rather than pita- something light as the appetizer choices aren't extensive. Even nachos would be great. Overall I like this restaurant and will return. read more
