This dog needs severe medical treatment and I do not feel that Dr. Fay's office was giving the best advice on how to handle the conditions of the dog therefore I am taking it to a second opinion, but unfortunately, I cannot seem to get the paperwork that needs to have that happen and his health is starting to decline because of this ! I've been told getting records from this facility has been very difficult for not private people but other veterinary offices. This is very very concerning considering people want opinions and everyone takes paperwork at the time of the visit when they have an emergency case.

Their location is very close to the Great Wolf lodge. Bryan was happy to show me the kennels upon request, Scott was kind enough to give us some tips on building our dog's confidence, and Gale was professional at all times. The presentation of the facility was clean, bright, and organized. The kennels are indoors with a platform that is attached to the wall. I can tell they spent a lot of time on their website as well, providing a plethora of info for you to indulge in should you have any questions. With that said, I do have some small qualms. I sent my dog's shot records as requested via email but I did not receive a confirmation of the receipt. When I called a couple days before our reservation to double check, I had learned that they did in fact receive my email but my dog did not have all his shot records present when I thought that he did. I was flustered at the thought of driving so far on the day of to potentially just getting rejected because we were missing information. Secondly, my dog definitely didn't use the potty enough. This may not have been at the fault of the trainers considering my guy probably held it in but he had thee longest pee of his life that I've ever seen after I picked him up. Since there's no knowing for sure how often supervision over potty breaks happen, my recommendation for all the first timers would be to not board your anxious dog. Once a week got him on phone & told he would email or call...none of either. Phone won't accept voicemail, no response to text. There are 4 of us who compete in events listed on his website with two of us who have tried to nail him down for training, with being left feeling he has no interest. One has been trying for months. Having to go with somebody else to train with after well over reasonable amount of waiting with no attempt from Bart to return contact. Blows my mind how a trainer can just ignore multiple long term clients who are looking for somebody to train with closer to home. Will look at him again if he surfaces. But we have dogs in need and competitions upcoming and can"r afford to sit and wait to see if he surfaces. Was even understanding for when our trip was extended a couple of days due to car troubles on the way back. What keeps me from adding that last star (or rather, .5 of a star) is getting a call at an odd hour about an alleged flea on my cat's rear. This was news to me, as we have not encountered the little parasites in our house since 2014 when a neighbor of ours introduced fleas to our house. Our cat is strictly an indoor cat, never goes outside, and I have dealt with fleas on cats a handful of times in my life, and have never had an incident of a single flea found only on the pet. The bugs have always managed to bother me as well. I have not been bothered by fleas since the aforementioned 2014 incident that we treated, and eradicated. So getting a call to say a flea was found, but no evidence was offered at the time, or at eventual pickup, just left a slightly sour taste in my mouth for what was otherwise exemplary cat boarding. I would still recommend her services, would even use them again if I found myself having to take the family out of town again, but if I am to be called and told my cat had a flea (not even fleas, I was told one was found on his hindquarters) I would rather expect to see some sort of evidence, photographic documentation preferably.

We had arranged our normal pet sitter that we've used for years to come and take care of our (almost) 15 year old cat, Mr. Christmas. It was around that time that Mr. Christmas stopped eating. Mr. Christmas had no real health conditions, no meds...and he was declining fast. After extensive testing, imaging, and seeing a specialist, he was diagnosed with either IBD or cancer and was going to need a lot of follow up. He was on multiple oral medications and he still wasn't eating great. I couldn't leave him in the house with someone who can only come see him once a day. He needed more support and our normal pet sitter couldn't provide that for him. I was fully prepared to cancel the trip, but thought I'd search online to see if anyone could match what we were looking for and if anyone would be willing to do what we were asking. We needed three, hour-long visits daily, forcing food at him, weighing him, and administering multiple daily medications. I found Melanie and messaged her explaining what I was looking for, and I was really impressed that she was up early at 4:30am to message me right back. She is incredibly responsive. I want to also mention that I messaged around 8 other people, and none were willing to do what we were asking and many didn't respond to me for several days. Melanie communicated with me each week leading up to our trip. We initially didn't have a diagnosis and I needed vet clearance to leave him. Melanie asked many questions, and when we finally were told that he was stable enough to leave, she came over to our house with a list of questions to go over with us. He's got a bit...a lot...of an attitude. She made sure that she didn't approach him and waited for him to come to her. She was so thoughtful about every detail of their interaction in front of us. My husband and I both felt that even though she is a stranger to us, there was something calming about her and she was very professional. We knew Mr. Christmas would be okay, but I wasn't expecting him to thrive the way that he did. Melanie never missed a visit (44 total!). She never asked for anything from me. She communicated with me daily throughout the two weeks. When we were backpacking and didn't have any cell service, she communicated with my parents and best friend so that everyone knew he was doing well. She braved picking him up to put him on the scale multiple times. Mr. Christmas gained weight with Melanie. He wasn't gaining weight with me at home, but she is just that good. Pictures of Mr. Christmas started with him sleeping alone, and then he got closer and closer to her on the couch. He even started inviting her to watch him in the litter box (I'm mortified), but he only does this with "his people". Our dog came to visit at home a few days to see Mr. Christmas (they are besties), and Melanie had no problem cuddling our dog while visiting Mr. Christmas. To describe Melanie in a couple of words, I would say she is easygoing and pays great attention to detail. She makes everything seem carefree, and my anxiety really appreciated that on this trip. I got home from 15 days away from him, and he is this thick ball of fluffy happiness. He was WELL taken care of. We could have never gone on this trip without Melanie.
