A first and lasting impression that will not lead to a return visit. This nail salon was open on Labor Day and I was one of many customers who appreciated the salon's flexibility. The visit took 2.5 hours due to the holiday. I was happy with the actual manicure and pedicure and the 20% off deal for first time customers (upon request). The chance to decompress is one of my favorite parts of getting my nails done. Unfortunately, I found the owner's overall tone toward her nail technicians abrasive with constant demands to perform tasks that at times were duties she herself started but did not finish. At one point, she dismissed one of her techs who asked her a question about a nail color. The owner was visibly irritated and perhaps overwhelmed by the increased business that day. Moreover, I was turned off by the way she and one, but not all of her staff, referred to their 'problem' customers in Vietnamese but then flipped the terminology to 'sweetheart' when addressing the client who didn't know better. There were also some complaints about customers who didn't tip. With family in the nail business, I understand that the service industry is challenging, but professionalism is important and outright b---- and moaning sessions should be behind closed doors. read more

I went to this salon ( as a white woman ) with my Chinese stepmom and while I had a great experience & super enjoyable, my stepmom did not have the same. She was treated like a fool and was treated roughly by the person doing her mani pedi. First, the woman made a comment about her being Chinese, then made her feel silly for asking a simple question. I really liked my nails, but I had no idea my stepmom had gotten that kind of treatment. It's not fair to be profiled, especially because my stepmom was incredibly kind and polite the entire time !!! She's the sweetest person and couldn't understand why someone was being so rude to her, especially when she was paying for this service. I hope this salon becomes more aware of how their attitude and actions are perceived, because today they were not. read more

The prior Owners to Nail Styles have come back to bigger and better things!! MiMi and Kevin have out done themselves this time! an absolutely beautiful shop!! 12 state of the art spa chairs, and nail stations. Very clean and organized. and OMG the colors!!!!!! They have everything under the sun! literally. Bold, pastel, glitter, tinted, MOOD CHANGING!!! and then some. Both in Gel and in regular polish. They have a sections that you can get both the same color in gel as in regular you are a finger and tosies matching kinda person. I had a Falcons game to go to Sunday. Not only did I get Falcons red, with sparkles. but when im cold, or my nails are cold they change to black!!!! How cool is that! and if that doesn't take the cake... Mimi hand painted a falcon on each of my ring fingers. I have never seen a more talented lady... Show her a picture, describe an idea, or give her free range ( im going to the beach, its my birthday, holiday themed) and she will make it happen. People didn't believe it was hand painted. Pricing is more than reasonable. They offer different levels of service at different prices accommodating to any wallet. She does a great job on waxing as well. I have gone to them for many years and nail places are a dime a dozen. I pass at least 6 other shops to get to their place... and its for good reason; they really are the best around. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the service, or lack thereof, Kevin, the owner, gave me when I came in to get my nails done. He never spoke and was clearly annoyed he was doing my nails. I would say he was almost rough grabbing my hands. He was in a hurry and when I left, I knew it would be my last try to get good service from him. I will say that other operators in the salon are good and very attentive but the service is not what it used to be when they first opened. Now it is in and out. read more

Good quality salon but the 20% off from Yelp is very misleading! They don't honor it and lie to you about prices! Let me begin by saying that aside from price, they did a decent job. Fast and efficient. The only negatives were that (a) The gel dryer machine was broken and kept going in and out. They didn't seem to have a replacement that worked properly. (b) I had a few air bubbles in my regular manicure, but they were nice enough to redo when I asked. The reason for my two star rating is that they are lying to their customers about the 20% off your visit. I got an express mani-pedi which was $31.00. With the 20%, they charged me $29.22. Apparently the 20% off applies only to the lowest item and you still have to pay a separate and arbitrary "tax fee." That's fine if they want to jip me for a couple bucks. My mom got a gel manicure and regular manicure which they said was $51. At first, they wouldn't honor the 20% off at all for her, but after I insisted, they charged me $49.22, claiming that included the 20% off and the tax fee. So instead of the $10 discount I thought I'd get, I got a discount of less than $2! Instead of 20% off, they gave me 3% off. LOL. Be careful because this is clearly one of those shops that lures in customers with tempting promotions, only to be surprised and disappointed when the final check arrives :/ read more

Update: bringing the stars down to three because my gel nails started to peel off in less than 2 weeks. The next establishment I went to said that my gel toes were way too thick - they had to soak them 4 times to get it all off! When it's that thick, it peels off more easily- which is why my nails didn't last 2 weeks. read more

I've been going to State Bridge Nail Bar for the last year and was dissatisfied with the service I just received. On my last visit, I was urged to sign up for their customer loyalty program, so I went ahead and signed up. Two days ago I received a text message stating they were having a summer sale and I would receive 20% off of my next visit as long as I came in between Monday - Thursday. I just got my nails done mentioning that I'd received the text and would like the 20% discount. She refused to honor the discount without seeing the text message. I explained that I'd accidentally deleted the message and asked if she would honor the discount anyway seeing as I come in there all of the time. Long story short, she refused to honor the discount. Although it's not a big deal as it was only 20% off I was moreso dissatisfied with the customer service I received. She didn't make any accommodations to try and meet me halfway or resolve the matter at hand. Also, the text message didn't implicitly state that I needed to keep the text in order to receive the discount. You never allow your loyal customers to walk out the door dissatisfied. Last Saturday I didn't have enough time to sit for a full service and just went in for a nail polish change . Omg... I actually thought Mimi knew me coz I've been there a couple of times but no I guess "black people look alike" . Mimi was so rude and very short with me just because I was just getting a nail polish change . Walked in, sat down & no one offered me a drink which kinda sucked because the drinks some people have posted on here from them looked really delicious. The staff is very friendly. Mary is the person that did my nails and they are okay. I asked her for coffin and she told me that my nails weren't long enough to do that shape but I've had other places do it with the same length without issue. Today was my first time going State Bridge Nail bar. I had a wonderful experience. I had an appointment that I set over the phone with Kevin who greeted me once I walked in the door, remembering the service I had requested. The ambiance is nice very comfortable and laid back. The staff is very friendly. The high lights of my experience were my pink and white set done by Kevin, he did an outstanding job and made sure that I was satisfied every step of the way. His 20 years of experience really did show. Nina did my pedicure and did an amazing job checking that everything was how I wanted it. Very disappointed with my visit at this establishment. I've just recently moved to the area and was excited about becoming a regular patron here. The prices seemed reasonable and the reviews looked awesome. Unfortunately, my partner and I had a terrible experience here. On the menu, it mentioned "complimentary cocktails" upon asking we were met with pushback and was told that it wasn't available today with no explanation. When my partner threatened to leave, they offered a cocktail. However, someone who appeared to be the owner seemed disdained by the gesture. After services were rendered and I go to pay, I was overcharged for my SNS which on the menu said it was $35, but was charged $50. When I inquired she told me it was because of additional charges such as automatically giving me the one w/ the manicure although I didn't ask for this one, a nail takeoff, nail shape AND nail tips although it was done on natural nail which made no sense. Also none of these additional charges were mentioned on their menu or brought up to me beforehand and to add, I've never had to pay for an SNS takeoff as this is typically apart of the new service cost so it all baffled me. They'd also charged me for the wrong, more expensive pedicure. These practices were extremely unethical to me which is why I don't plan on returning. They did lower the bill some after much back and forth, but overall there are many more options in the area that I believe would appreciate my business more that I'd rather support along with better customer service. read more

My normal nail salon had an extreme wait time so I decided to come somewhere new. With good reviews, I called to see if they had any openings that could see me right away (trying to get nails done before work). When I got there I was greeted right away and told to pick a color. I did french gel nails so there was nothing for me to choose. While talking with the technician, she seemed fairly new and admitted shes only been doing it for 2 years. I had shimmery nail polish on before, she removed it with acetone then dunk my fingers in water. She didn't remove all the polish off and around my nails were shimmery. She took a cuticle spoon pusher and pushed around my nails then took out cuticle clippers out of her pocket... strange and unsanitary but I wasn't really thinking more in depth to it (which I should have...ewww). She cut around my whole nail sides and top. File.. I had to request she even it out twice. Buff... then the paint... It looked fine walking out but inspecting at it... I am not happy. Lines are uneven, extremely uneven coatings so it feels like lumps on each nails, and I have hang nails EVERYWHERE and I had none when I entered. Its been 4 days and its already chipping... They were super friendly and nice but the service provided just wasn't satisfactory. Train your staff and SANITIZE! read more

I think they've done a great job with their expansion, and it's nice that they offer drinks, but I recently had a very bad experience and I feel the owner should know about it. I even asked for a correction while I was at the salon, and it wasn't very well done. An older woman did my pedicure, but I can't recall her name. Next time I'll make an appointment with one of the more reputable members of the staff. I didn't like the way she spoke to me or did my nails. She wouldn't stop touching my baby bump either, which is highly inappropriate. I ended up with a pedicure I could have done better myself (and I can't even bend over). Oh, and after 5 minutes of drying time, she came over and awkwardly asked me why I was still there, basically suggesting that I should leave. I was sitting there letting my sloppy toenails dry so they wouldn't look even worse. They honestly looked better the last time I had them done here - before AND after my 2 year old stepped on my toe.
