They will make you feel like the stupidest loser for restarting your oil, even though you do not know New England weather. They will refuse to help you when you need help the most. Today two technicians arrived on time and did an excellent job. The pilot light would not stay light in one of my natural gas fireplaces. The tech knew exactly what to do and it was working in record time. The other gas fireplace was cleaned. They were very polite, professional and competent. I have used State Line Propane for over 10 years and have never had an issue with ordering, delivery or payment. The office employees and delivery employees have been courteous and professional. Orders and payment can also be placed through their website. They usually arrive within a day or two from when I call it in. Even when weather conditions were terrible the propane delivery always arrive when they say it will. read more

A cold February night my 18 year old furnace died..woke up in a cold house. called stateline on Friday morning and told them to send help..A service rep arrived about noon and told me the furnace has died...and I should call Nick at Stateline to get a new furnace..I called Nick and he said he needs to come to my house and do some measuring..Now I am thinking it's going to be a week before I get my new furnace,,Nick was at my house by three and did his thing and told me he needs to go back to the shop and try to find a furnace. Now I am thinking about two weeks before I get heat.  Nick called me back at around five and said he found a furnace and can get it installed tomorrow morning (I was surprised)  Saturday morning 8 am service representatives arrived and started to take the o;d furnace out,  By noon four service representatives were at my house removing and installing my new furnace.  they were done by noon... Received a bill for a propane tank rental on January 15 2021. Envelope postmarked on Jan 13, 2021. Today, 2/4/21, I received a call demanding payment! I explained to the person that I had just received the bill a little over two weeks ago. What? Not fast enough? Person at State Line then tries to blame the post office with "the slow mail"!!! State Line is an outstanding service provider. They are knowledgeable, professional and courteous. At a moment in time, when stories about supply chain woes and delays in service abound, they set up a schedule for us and stuck to it, getting the job done in in record time. They installed a major addition to our mini-split system on a Monday and an entirely new furnace the day after that. They put in a long day's work and remained unflaggingly energetic and upbeat, even though the weather was steamy. They were meticulous in what they did and very communicative, answering all our questions fully and completely. This was especially the case with Chad Condon, their HVAC Sales Agent. His willingness to fully explore various options, along with his honest assessment of alternative systems and products was much appreciated. He was a true ally in the problem-solving process and a pleasure to talk to in general. Exceptional service! Stateline has been reliably delivering our propane for many years and really went over and above for us this winter. During one of our snowstorms last month, they made an emergency delivery for us. The truck was having difficulty getting up our snowy steep driveway so they sent an additional smaller truck to help clear the snow on the driveway. Three Stateline men exceeded our expectations, spending a lot of their time and energy to deliver that day, ensuring that we would not run out of propane. We are very appreciative of them going the extra mile for us. read more

When we bought our home the previous owners had service records from state line going back years, so I figured they were reputable. Finally came time to purchase oil and they made it impossible for me to do so. I spoke with several people at the office and was always forwarded to their "Salesman" who never picked up the phone. I called 3 times over two weeks and left 3 voicemails, all were unreturned. Can't speak to their services, but if they can't even figure out how to take my money I have little faith. read more

I've been a customer of State Line, first Oil, now Propane, for decades, and this company has only gotten better with age. We are on automatic refill and they never fail to show up and fill our tanks. Before we converted to propane we heated with oil, and the old system had a lot of issues, and State Line was always courteous, on time and professional in keeping that system running. Last season they converted us to propane heat and on-demand hot water and it's awesome. Their techs in the field are super, can't say enough good things about them. They are damn expensive! They would leave you out in the cold. Sometimes I think the tanks are not filled appropriately as billed after each refill. I live 15minutes away but would still get 3 to 4 business days to get my tank refilled. Looking to change services. read more

Responsive and courteous. Not the cheapest but all else is great. We have a propane tank that we lease from them and they have come out twice to install lines to a generator as well as a stove top. Both times they have been responsive and willing to work with us. read more

Thank you State Line Propane! They really saved me when my furnace broke in the middle of the night. The service man was awesome and had my furnace running in less than 20 minutes. I really expected a much higher bill since it was in the dead of night but very reasonable and alot lower than repairing frozen pipes. I would defiantly recommend this company! read more

I had been with SLP for over a year on auto deliver. When I moved, I assumed the account would remain auto. However, I ran out of propane. SLP tried to charge me a $375 "delivery fee". Further, SLP tried to charge me 2x the going price of propane. When I questioned the bill, they threatened to take my propane tank, which was not even theirs. I bought it when I bought the house. When I spoke to "Brian", he told me he made "over a million dollars a year" and that he would bury me in legal fees. All over a few hundred dollars in propane! He even threatened me with a lien, and claimed he had 20 years to collect on a lien (completely false- a mechanics lien expires as a matter of law 365 from the date it is filed). I was disgusted at the rudeness of the folks at State Line Propane. They threatened me, claiming they were going to file a lien on my property because, they claimed, my propane tank belonged to them. It did not. "Brian" called me a "deadbeat" during a collections call, when I was willing to pay a fair price for the propane, but not willing to pay what I considered over inflated charges. I see that others have had similar experiences. I am investigating legal action against these folks for violations of the CT Unfair Trade Practices Act and violations of the Unfair Debt Collections Act. If anyone would like to share their experiences with me, we may be able to bring a class action lawsuit against SLP. I am not a trial lawyer, but I know many who would be interested. Rip off artist. Guy who filled my 30 pound built in tank in my motorhome stated it took 30 gallons. I paid $120 in June 2015. Just found out that a 30 pound tank holds 7 gallons. read more

By far the worst service possible. It took 5 phone calls and 3 visits and they still can't figure out how to fill a 100lb tank. Going on day 4 with no propane. The delivery drivers and office have a severe lack of communication. I will definitely be taking my service elsewhere in the future. I wish I knew where to begin. My family and I have acquired a new home and couldn't be happier. Until today. We have no heat, no hot water, no fuel to cook or anything with subzero temperatures outside. We noticed yesterday late evening that both the propane tanks to the home were empty so we desperately needed propane fuel. I did some google searching and found a propane supply company that's conveniently just a couple of miles away. So that evening I called Promise Propane of Newington, CT around 8 pm Wednesday, knowing they are closed. Robert, the owner, was more than helpful and understood the trouble we were in and delivered 100 gallons ($250) first thing in the morning, Thursday. Later that day I return home from work and realized the heat was not working, and the stove was not working. I went outside to check the tanks and come to find out they were stolen. So I contacted Robert of Promise Propane to find out the actual owner of the tanks. Come to find out, that Brian G, owner of Stateline Propane from Granby, CT stole my tanks with 100 gallons of fuel. After speaking with Robert, the owner of stateline propane has been sending vile messages to Robert and threating him and his business. Robert was very helpful to my family and I. Fortunately, Robert gave me the contact number to Brian, which I was able to get in touch with him. According to brian and stateline propane, the tanks are owned by them, and fuel is only to be supplied by them. I had no knowledge of such information and did not know I was only limited to this supplier. And because stateline propane has an issue with Promise Propane, Brain G stole our tanks on Thursday, leaving my family and I with no heat, hot water or cooking fuel, also stealing $250 worth of fuel. Most importantly, he left me in a situation that can freeze all my pipes in these current temperatures. This morning my heat was at 70 degrees, and as I write this now, my current temperature in the house is 52 degrees and declining. I have spoken to new Britain police and they are trying to help, but doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere. I tried contacting Brian several more times and He is more concerned that Promise propane filled a tank that didn't belong to him? I was in an emergency of needing propane fuel and Promise propane came through when I needed them. Now I'm in even more of an emergency with NO TANKS. read more

Husband had a very similar experience with a lady he spoke with on the phone. I hired State Line to install a new Kitchen Aid Professional stove. They installed it incorrectly with the wrong conversion kit. The result of this is that all my expensive pots and pans are burned on the bottom and the beautiful new stove top and other parts are burned as well. The stove looks 30 years old now and I am not happy!! We have been calling them for months. I have left messages, sent email, and talked to several people and they all say that they have to talk to the owner who is always "out of town" (no cell phone???!!!). I have spoken to the service repair manager several times when he is not "out" and he promises to speak with the owner but we never hear back from them. I can't tell you how disappointed I am! They are not willing to discuss anything at all with us. There service is terrible, they are not reputable, and I will never refer them to any of my real estate clients or friends.
