After several quotes from several providers, Matt at Hometown had not only the most cost-effective quote by a mile, he was more than patient and understanding in dealing with some family issues causing many delays in making the decision to proceed. 2025 changes to regulations meant getting contracts signed by year-end 2024 and once decision made, Matt was extremely prompt in getting all done so that it hit 2024 regs. Work began in early Jan 2025. Matt and his partner Dave were prompt, timely, professional and neat! Workspace always broom swept each day of the 5-day job. When a mid-course correction to installation occurred, Matt was more than accommodating in making the change with no impact on budget. Inspector came today and commented on the quality installation. Matt and Dave took the time to explain what they are doing and answered all questions. Matt handled all regarding application with State and any Federal potential for rebates. These guys provide a quality product, excellent service and reasonable prices. I highly recommend them!

Nevertheless, I feel compelled to share with you that I would not have had Allen do the repair if I had known that there was an $89 charge for the 10 minute diagnosis and then the $115 pump would be marked up 250% to $291. When backing the cost of the pump out of the 90 minute job cost we are at a $185/hr labor rate. These are practices akin to those of Aiello, that I avoid and warn people against. Joe was excellent throughout the entire process. After speaking to over 10 other contractors, all of whom came out and gave me estimates ranging from $6000 through $14000, I was thoroughly impressed with Joe's professionalism and his attitude from the start. He was completely upfront about pricing, credits from manufacturers, anticipated labor time, etc. Where are other contractors were just trying to squeeze every last dime out of me I never got that impression from Joe. When it came to the actual work, Joe was able to coordinate around our schedule (as we were in the process of getting married and moving into the new house at the same time). The team he had working with him was excellent throughout the whole process as well. They were all extremely polite and professional and I had no concerns about leaving them in my house to get the necessary work done. I never saw them standing around with nothing to do and they were very respectful of our property. They even made sure that they cleaned up each and every day after they finished working, which was excellent, and definitely not something every company does. It's 5 months later and I still haven't found a single nail or piece of cut piping laying on the ground. The boiler that was put in works excellently, probably better than my initial expectations. He also removed the ancient boiler and oil tank that were there when we purchased the property. Once again, there were no issues with the removal and I love having the extra room in the basement. It has been 5 months since he installed the system and there has been two times when I have had a minor leak, and due to my fear of plumbing, I called Joe both times. On both occasions not only did Joe get back to me within the hour, he also arranged to have one of his guys out at my house the following morning. Both of the problems were relatively easy fixes and the individual was in and out of my house in under an hour on both occasions. I have nothing but high regards for Mr. Abbate and his company and would not hesitate to use them again.

They were a blessing to me, even the young lady who answered the phone was so sweet and polite. and this meant so much more because I've been having an extremely rough year, been having a lot of Windows slammed in my face but Mr Abbate came to assess my furnace and he was so considerate and so empathetic and compared to everyone else I had been dealing with in the past few weeks, he considered how cold it was outside and how uncomfortable it must have been for me, and he made sure to get my furnace in, even though I'm pretty sure his schedule is extremely tight right now.
