Food is decent overall but you can find better places in the area. To be fair I have had good in person dining experiences but not great take out experiences. My main complaint is the time I am told for coming in and picking up takeout is almost always wrong. I will be told it will be ready in 15 minutes and I'll show up 20 minutes later expecting it to be ready and be told it should only be 10 more minutes. I'd rather just be told a longer time from the start then wait around inside in the middle of a pandemic. I used to regularly get food here but haven't since last time I went my friend didn't get the fries that should have come with his order and there was a staple in my wrap. read more

After a night out, a diner is always the place to go. Walking distance from my friends place, it was the perfect eatery to visit. It was packed, but we were seated within 5 minutes. Simone the manger is also very professional and was always great at giving the best tips and tricks that will improve your experience tremendously she also will give you a couple laughs and prioritize your stay. Umm... I'm sorry to say that the food is underwhelming. We all got entrees and tasted each other's meals, and all of them were extremely bland. I haven't been this disappointed in quite a while. I didn't eat it at all. We told the waitress, Emely, and she essentially didn't even acknowledge it. I asked for a manager. I told him the food wasn't good, and he asked what was wrong with it. I told him I didn't like it. The sauce was bland, and in general I just don't like it. He told me I should have told him earlier because that's about "$40 wasted... ". And reluctantly took the plates in disgust. He removed the dishes and she came over and said "sorry you guys didn't like it." By then, we were already thinking about leaving. But we stuck through and ordered some Shirley temples. Which were HORRIBLE. They tasted like straight stale cherry juice. By then we were fed up and went to the host stand to pay for our drinks and leave. Only to be rudely yelled at by managment and told we needed to pay for food WE NEVER RECEIVED. I called a half hour earlier before putting in my order to find out what soups they had to get my order situated before placing my order... was then told that they didn't have those soups .. then placed on hold several times right in the middle of placing my order then someone else with a possible fake name called Inez got on the phone and wanted me to repeat my whole order and when I asked where was the girl who took my order she said she left ... so no order was actually placed.. After being infuriated I then said what's going on there maybe I should just go there and speak to the manager.. A-OK! I've been to this diner several times and I've never had an issue. It's your average Jersey Diner food with average prices & huge portions. The service is normally pretty decent and quick and the food is always served hot. They have lots of items on their menu and they even offer brick oven pizza! The restaurant is spacious and clean and has booths, tables with chairs and roof top seating. They have a very small parking lot in front and there's also street parking available, too. I wish I could say I enjoyed my experience here. We were recommended to come here and we came with hungry stomachs and high expectations. It went down hill once we entered the restaurant. We waited about 20 mins and never received a waiter/waitress. We ended up having to go up to the front and requesting one. She ended up being okay but everything else was subpar. We ended up getting our food about a hour after we finally ordered. (Mind you the restaurant wasn't that busy it was noon on a Friday) I can't speak for the rest but I hated the French toast I got. It tasted like it was cooked in rancid oil and no amount of butter could cover that. The sausage I got was offputting and I can't explain why it upset my stomach. We ended in Bloomfield due to a funeral and everyone decided on this restaurant to eat for dinner. Dinner for 3 came to over 50.00 and we were absolutely shocked!!! However when we got home and saw the portion sizes we were humongous, we were even more shocked! We had enough food for the entire weekend!!! I called in an order for a Cajun burger and confirmed the specification of the burger and what it came wirh. After arrived I waited for about 10 minutes before they finished my order. After receiving my order and returning home. I was very disappointed to find out they had given me the completely wrong order. On the bag the receipt displayed the correct order. The burger I initially received included bacon (I don't eat bacon) and avocado. I immediately called back to see if I could have my order corrected and perhaps delivered to me since I was already home. As it turned out, the first thing the host said was "well I didn't take this order" and they had no delivery drivers available. I asked the women on the phone, if I could give her a call right back, since my dinner plans were interrupted and I needed to determine if I wanted to now go out of my way to drive back after their mistake. I called back 2 minutes later hoping to place my order. After they picked up they left me on hold until I arrived back at the diner. Then I had to place my order while there causing me to wait even longer. Once I received my order once I got it home, I was even more disappointed in what I received. The cheese was barely existent and the burger was over cooked and dry. It seemed like they put the same burger back on the grill and returned it to me. Also, there was no Cajun aspect of the dish. Molded red velvet cheesecake 5/31/20. waitress opened the package. Viewed it & bagged it. 3days ago I ordered 5 assorted desserts. The brownies were STALE cheesecake SMELLED terrible all not edible. was told would get REPLACED. yesterday. Was handed this not full replacement of order. One star because minus five stars isn't an option. The desserts were in the dessert case in styrofoam packaging. I ordered a baby greens salad with steak. It came with mozzarella which I asked for on the side. When it came the steak was overcooked, beyond well done. The mozzarella was in the salad. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat, before the lockdowns. We hadn't been there in over two years, so today we decided to treat ourselves to a late breakfast. My wife and daughter enjoyed their food, but my experience was not so good. I ordered fried chicken and waffles and it looked good on the surface. However, on when I cut into the breast and took my first bite, the food felt cold. I cut the breast open and it was frozen solid in the middle! I had just eaten a piece of raw chicken! The staff was apologetic, and comped the dish, and offered to get me something else, but I declined. Any restaurant that can let a piece of frozen food get to its patrons' table is probably not following proper food handling procedures. Needless to say, we will not be returning, and I would advise anyone eating there to pay close attention to what they've been served before digging into their food. read more

I put PARMESAN cheese on every pasta dish and this was no exception! It tasted amazing! It comes with one big meatball in the middle and a choice of salad or soup. However, over the years since then; it's consistently declined. The people are still friendly, but the food is just not good. Today I went on a whim, for simple French toast.
