But guess what... the bagger gave my precious avocados with some other items to an elderly woman. I swore i saw her hand my bag off but I was like.. na there's no way? Lo and behold I get home and find my items were missing. So disappointed. I lost my receipt somehow and went to buy the same items AGAIN. Then the opposite happened to me last week...they gave me somebody else's groceries. I was so disappointed on their behalf because I know the feeling. read more

After 3 hours at the pool at almost 100 degree weather, we wanted to get some food that would satisfy a variety in our group (4 kids and 3 adults). When we walked in, the store was clean and well air conditioned. At the deli, we got fried chicken, chicken tenders, potato wedges, sushi, Mac salad, and slider sandwiches. The service at the deli counter was as quick and friendly. The kids got to pick out a pack of 6 specialty popsicles for only $5. It was such a good deal to feed everyone and with dessert included! It would have easily been almost $100 or more at a fast food joint with how expensive everything is getting. Check out was fast and we spent only about 15 minutes in the store. read more

This is the best market location in the Inland Empire! So many great options and very well kept! I love that for the most part Stater Brothers always had friendly and helpful staff! Expect when that one lady works with the long black hair, she's a lil older and has an attitude (she's hates her life) but she's been there forever so they probably are used to it. I'm not sure how to write this review basically, I love Stater Bros and have been a regular since I moved to CA in 2014. I always went to the store on Palm Ave and Highland Ave in Highland, but they recently closed the store for a new one on 5th St/Greenspot also in Highland. I live a couple blocks from the Palm Ave store and could make quick trips to pick up milk, bread, or looking for something for dinner. With the new locations, I'll now have to drive further, with several stoplights on my path. Instead, I'll be making those trips to Smart & Final, which is now the closest grocery store for me. I don't understand why they built the new store since there's already a store on Greensport about a mile away from the new one. Meanwhile, there were a lot of people within walking distance of the Palm Ave store who now aren't able to get to the new one. Edit: I appreciate the response from Stater Bros, but it doesn't explain the need to build a 2nd store so close to an existing one that was worth shutting down a neighborhood store. There aren't enough small, neighborhood stores, and the Stater Bros on Palm Ave was one of the last. Now it's gone too; very sad and disappointing. They always have really fresh fruit and if you need a cake, their bakery is awesome. Sometimes, the bakery loses orders so keep the order slip they give you. They made a really nice cake today for my sister's birthday today and they did an excellent job . Con: Most of the produce is really fresh, but a couple things need improvement. The cucumbers were terrible last time I was there. The romaine lettuce needed help too. read more

I hate to leave this review as I've used Stater Bros for my son's cakes for the last four years, but this is the first time at this location. I ordered his Transformer cake with a Transformer kit a week ago and paid for it the same day. Yesterday, I picked up the cake and they informed me that they haven't had the Transformer kit and didn't charge me from the beginning for the kit, so they could only give me a frosted, transformerless cake. They offered me a different kit like Paw Patrol, but unfortunately that wouldn't work for a Transformer birthday party for my five year old. My issue is the communication. They knew for a week they didn't have the kit and didn't call me, so that I could make arrangements. I had to scrounge around for some Transformer toys to put on my son's cake, so he wasn't disappointed. The cake was also a bit dry and didn't have much filling. Due to my experience, I would not recommend their cake service. read more

I've been buying milk, at least 2 gallons per week, here since you opened your store. Always great quality except for the last 4 months. The milk has consistently gone bad at least 5 days before the " best by..." date. I occasionally switch to Costco brand and never have issues. read more

I'm adding back some stars... Tonight, there were notable changes at the store. Something that this place had lost almost entirely, seems to be coming back - pride in the service being offered to the community. I was greeted professionally and the employees looked much more groomed and put together. Far fewer side conversations were noted amongst the employees as well. I'd like to note specifically that Frank Garcia impressed me with how courteous and professional he was. He focused his attention on each customer in turn, and he was efficient, friendly, and pleasant to work with. In the 20 seconds it took for him to ring up my purchases, he restored my hope that Stater Bros still cares about customer service and values my community. Mr. Garcia's name tag had turned momentarily, so I asked him his name so I could be sure to commend him specifically for the service he provides. He kindly fixed his name tag and gracefully apologized, furthering my appreciation for his interpersonal skills. These spontaneous social graces are what makes these brief interactions so effective at leaving a positive impression. Stater Bros is either fortunate to have attracted Mr. Garcia to their team, or has improved their training and raised expectations for their employees. Of all the Stater Brothers I have been to, this is the cleanest one thus far and I visited to at least 10 locations. When I first moved to the Ranch, I wanted to make sure there was a supermarket close by in the community. Back in 2019, I met the store manager, who was well into 25 years plus with Staters. He greeted everyone who walked thru those doors. He knew just about everyone who came thru that store. Very friendly and gave the big store community service vibe. I've been a little concerned about Staters the last few months. I have noticed the employees not being proactive several times. Twice in the last week I've seen dogs. Not service dogs. One in a grocery cart. Now I live dogs but seeing one sitting in a grocery cart where I place my veggies is not OK. AND the check out person and bagger commented on the dog. Service dogs do NOT sit in carts. Next day I saw another dog and not with a service dog assignment. I'm a little grossed out by the dog in the cart and no employees saying anything. Another day a clearly homeless man was begging me to buy him something inside the store and right in the checkout line. The cashier and bagger did not say anything to protect me. So many baggers bag items improperly (for instance, putting canned items alongside easily bruised fruit). I love staters but I will never return to this location! I purchased un marinated leg meat and when I got home to make food for my family I noticed a smell and as soon as I opened the package and opened the bag and the awful smell of spoiled meat was strong. I pulled some pieces out to verify it was in fact spoiled and it was! The leg meat had a green tent to certain areas along with some weird black marks on the loose skin. I called the store to notify the manager that I would be there to return it and he seemed very bothered and told me to just take it to any check stand and they would issue me a refund. Upon arriving to the store I expressed my concerns on how the young man in the meat department didn't smell it spoiled if I could smell it through the packaging they wrap it in and he relied to be honest all the guys back there are nose blind. From this experience I would guess they deal with this often. read more

Stater Brother's supermarket in Highland, CA on Greenspot Road is where I'm talking about, and especially about the wonderful lady in the service deli named Crystal. She helped me for a lunch I was participating in, potluck-style, and I pulled off a masterpiece. Crystal is my hero. I don't go into the store that much since I'm traveling a different route now, but everytime I go there and see her, I get a smile from her. She was SO helpful, and made ME look good that day. My adult son had a significant medical emergency while we were shopping at this location yesterday. The store staff (plus at least one customer) jumped in right away to assist us and immediately called for emergency responders. George, one of the store managers, stayed by our side the entire time and his is the only name I got, but there were SO many other staff members who played a part in keeping the situation safe and calm while we went through this traumatic experience. I am beyond grateful for everything that was done for us and for everyone who helped and will never be able to thank everyone enough for what they did for us! Very upset with my last experience at this Staters. I love going here but this last visit was upsetting. I walked up to the cashier and he didn't even look me in the eye. Felt like he didn't even want to help me yet alone scan my items. He never said a word to me but took my money and gave me a receipt. I said "thank you, have a nice day" and still he just ignored me and waved me on through. The bagger was polite enough to say "thank you and have a great day." The cashier who was very rude to me is Fernando D. At least that's what it said on my receipt. I don't expect everyone to greet me and have a huge smile on their faces 24/7 BUT I think it's really rude to ignore your customers all together and gives me the feeling that you hate your job and don't wanna deal with me, even after I speak to you. read more

Gosh I'm sorry to say but as a long time customer of 10 hrs I've earned the right to add a little constructive criticism. Ive noticed that some NOT all of the younger employees are not very professional. I've been accustomed to the greetings and being asked if i would like help taking groceries to my car. Seems like a lot of chatter going on and no work being done ( I'm sure that's not the case it just appears that way). I don't know exactly what the issue is. But I miss the old fashioned service . I'm sure with proper training it can be GREAT again. By the way to the checker that always sends me off with a God Bless You make my day. I was there yesterday. When I went through checkout the checker and the courtesy Clerk were having a conversation together. Never asked me anything. I told them yes I needed bags . Without them asking me. I told the checker Hi my day is good, how is your day? Then when I got to the parking lot the courtesy clerk was on her cell phone as she was putting away the carts. I shop at that staters a lot and this isn't the first time courtesy clerks and checkers had a blown on conversation without acknowledging me. Next time I'll put their names in it. But I do recommend Stater Brothers and I do like this stater brothers because it is always clean. But checkers need to not talk to the courtesy clerks about personal business when customers are in front of them. It's very rude. Thank you very much. This is my go-to grocery store. Everything is always so clean and organized, I really enjoy that. The deli is always stocked up and service is fast. We just went to the store yesterday ( and we always shop staters) we never have an issue. But yesterday, we brought home some ground beef and noticed it smelled awful. The color looked fine but because of the smell we took it back to the store. We also wanted to let them know and to check their meat products so no other customers get sick or anything else. They were EXTREMELY RUDE AND WOULDNT EVEN LOOK US IN THE EYE. We were shocked. We hadn't said anything bad to them, we just wanted them to be aware. So we decided not even to exchange the meat and go to Albertsons instead. Be careful with their meat products. Rude staff. So disappointing. read more

We used to go to Stater for great pricing and it was the closest grocery store to our house. The prices are still decent but lately we along with other folks we know have reported expired perishables on the shelves. They would do well to double check for expired food when they do their routine restocking. Staters has a great history. The staff are always friendly, but the food quality is dropping.
