Definitely are making the right changes to this store. They removed the exit that was wayyyy too easy for beer runs and theft in general. Management is a step in the right direction. Store seems to be running more efficiently. Side departments look good (produce/salad bar) deli is ok, needs to be more pleasing to the eye. Meat department is hit or miss. This Staters is located in the Sun City area of Menifee and it has recently been remodeled and looks great and they added a sushi bar that offers freshly made sushi to order. The service at Staters is always great. The selection is vast and the food is reasonably priced. The layout of the store is efficient, makes sense, and has great signage. There is another supermarket nearby, but may as well not be because Staters is so Much better. read more

Sun City Resident. I have truly grown to hate this store. Most for service that ranges from fair to rancid, even the tie-clad mangers need a lesson in service and the famous "Safeway Smile" Two weeks ago I saw some pretty shady pricing and marketing in the egg case. I spoke with a manager about it and her reaction was , you caught us. She couldn't even pretend it wasn't price gauging. Today a request for 2 dollars (8 quarters) back with change was simply answered with NO, I then asked the cashier if he could ask customer service, he responded " I am customer service" I responded I'll wait for a manager just as one walked up, her responce was "no not on weekends" my thought to myself was Stater Bros is decades old and should have weekends figured out by now. Perhaps it's because they are adjacent to a laundry mat, but to me that would be all the more reason to have quarters on hand because these customers buy laundry soap, fabric softener and sheets bleach, sodas, and snacks. The laundry mat customers are not a problem they are a customer. By the way I own a washer and dryer and needed the quarters for another purpose. Produce is so overpriced especially onions and potatoes, it's laughable, almost everything is priced on the high side. Like the new store. Seems be some new friendly faces as cashiers. Absolutely don't like how loud the music is and especially the bass. This is a senior neighborhood. I couldn't even concentrate on shopping when I went in around 5:10 to 5:40 because the music was so loud and certain songs would come on in the bass would be extra loud. Went by this last weekend too but some may ave was helped by this one young caucasian lady. I shopped at stater bros all my life here in SoCal same never once had the the worst experience I ever had with her. She thought it was slick mumbling those curse and name calling under her breath but I heard all that she called me. I shall not not repeat those because people of all ages and race read these. Paul the store manager is Awesome, very hands on and Paul is very present on the floor, assisting all customers to find items. The current remodel at this location is beautiful,the meatDept is awesome all of the meats looks delicious definitely the USDA fresh and inviting. Tim at the meat department was so kind to wait on me very Customer Service and with a smile, I also encountered Dylan The manager, was so nice and greeted me with such a nice presence, very over-the-top in Customer Service. This place sucks so bad. I asked one of the so called "managers" where the canned Asian food was, so, they have chow mein noodles without the chow mein, a few cans of water chestnuts, and that's it. So, I asked that so called manager the same question, she got annoyed with me, said that's all the has, flipped her head and walked away. This store is consistently a crap show. Jack Brown would be quite angry if he were still alive. The store looks like crap and the employees some care. They should fire everyone and close the store, be done with it. I have shopped at Stater Brothers in Sun City only as one of the last resorts, but I will never shop there again. There are two great checkers, but there are newer checkers who do not even acknowledge your existence. Last week I stood in front of a checker and waited for her to acknowledge me, she didn't and when she rang me up, she did not say thank you. The box boy must have been trained by the checker, because he also did not say thank you or even acknowledge my existence. This is not customer service, it is "Non-Customer Service." I have shopped at store #111 (Newport and Murrieta Rd) for 15 years and there are so many outstanding employees there. One who truly stands out is Kat, and she is an assistant manager/supervisor. This lady is always smiling, friendly, and helpful. Recently I had a very bad experience with a new employee who acted like helping me was not something he wanted, or had to do, and told me untruths to get out of having to bother with me before walking away. This was a young 17 to 19 year old young man who obviously had not figured out that the most important act of his job is customer service. Happy customers equals return customers; unhappy customers equals lost customers which means lost revenue and that impacts his job security. Kat handled the situation with professionalism, diplomacy, and assurances that th employee will not make the same mistake in the future. read more

Since the balmy Spring days of 2006, I've had a love/hate relationship with this market. The good news is that they are of course closer than trekking down to Temecula for the good deals at the warehouse supermarkets. You also get in & out faster too. And they are a lot more affordable than the nearby Vons. The bad news is that many of the employees seem clueless, 5 bags of basic groceries comes to about $65, and somehow their carpet shampooer gives off blue marks, leaving your carpet worse afterwards than before. (Kudos to the manager for refunding the money.) Also worth noting is that many times they are out of basic necessities, they usually have people at the door hawking something-or-other, and you will have to wait for grannies in the parking lot. But when you need groceries at 9 at night & don't want to drive 20 miles & back, they've got ya over a barrel. So I guess they're a-ok for that. :-) read more

I like Stater Bros, good low prices on quality brands. This location is predominantly the older/senior demographic and as such, generally slow to check out. I avoid coming here for the quick items due to the slow service and will go to the Vons next door even though I may have to pay a little more. Be careful in the parking lot, as I said, main audience is the older folks and they are not the most attentive drivers (being truthful, not trying to be rude); I had three kids and they just don't notice the smaller kids walking in the parking lott even though they are next to me. read more

Been shopping at this location for a decade and nothing seems to improve. No matter the manager they hire for this store, despite all of their alleged experience and qualifications, the important issues never change for the better. I gave this place a 6-month "probationary period," the same I did with the new Vons manager after I bailed from that horrific store 6 months ago! The current manager at Staters was happy to see me again (or so he thought). On most of my weekly visits (sometimes more frequently than that), I pointed out to Manager Chris, numerous employees, and even the corporate office that the employees simply refuse to stock the correct item with the correct tag, making it very frustrating to shop at this location. Despite all the assurances this would be corrected, it hasn't. The issue is not a lack of intelligence or people making simple errors; no, it is DELIBERATE. Very non-consumer friendly, to be sure! Until they can get their act together, I am done with this store and will now travel further to Winco where I don't have this type of issue. read more

This has been my go to store for years. Their prices are much cheaper than other close by markets. This is a smaller version, not a fully loaded Stater Brothers but I think it keeps it less crowded. The staff is friendly and virtuous. read more
