Dallas is my hometown, so I started coming here when I turned 18 in high school. It hasn't changed at all, but not in a bad way. It's very large being two stories with several rooms including the Rose Room Lounge which could almost be a separate club all by itself where they host all of their drag shows - lots of famous girls from RuPaul's drag race got their start there. There is a large outdoor deck upstairs as well as downstairs. Drinks are super cheap. This place is known as the "afties" bar because they are open until 4 AM though they will still stop serving alcohol at 2 AM The biggest downside is that they tend to charge a cover almost every night, which is pretty annoying, but I guess that's standard for Dallas. So came here to the station, Four, the video game place, and ordered a Sazerac. I got my cocktail paid for, and when I got the receipt, it was 30.00. This is ridiculous!!! I returned it. I have been to many restaurants and cocktail bars, and I have never paid 30.00 bucks for a cocktail. This is the most overpriced place on the strip. I mean, the games are fun, but the price is not worth it. The bartender called the manager, but the manager never came. The bartender said that, according to a coworker, they don't do refunds. We stopped in for a drag show Sunday night that a friend was participating in. It's a huge venue! There wasn't anything going on downstairs, but I can imagine this place gets hopping some nights. Lots of bars and lots of open space. The event we went for was upstairs in the Rose Room. Great setup there. Big bar right inside the door with multiple stations. Seating in the bar area and then a big show space. Great visual effects for the show and a nice big stage visible from everywhere. The bartenders were engaging and friendly. For non-drinkers like us who still enjoy some NA beer on a night out, they had a nice selection and kept it stocked, which was a nice touch. Only nitpick (and it's a small one) was that if you opened a tab, you had to go back to the same bartender for all drinks on that tab. Unfortunately, the bar tender we went to happened to be the one everyone else went to, so lines were a bit long. Not a big deal. Will definitely come back. read more

Cool place with a large dance area. They even let us take up the VIP section for free just because we were in a group and no one was occupying it. The staff was nice. People were nice. But.....those bathrooms look like WW3!!! Piss everywhere, no doors, the atmosphere in there is insanely gross. I'd rather pee in the parking lot. This wasn't my first time there, I visited this place a decade ago and the bathrooms have gotten even worse since then. Please remodel them!!!!!!!! Rip everything out and do something else! It's a gay dance bar. What's not to love? It's a fantastic place to be for big events. Regular nights tend to be hit and miss. The venue is so large it can look dead inside pretty easily. Straight girls tend to wander in and act like they've never seen hot shirtless men before. Which....I guess could be true considering the busted girls that walk through and treat it like a visit at the zoo. Aside from the handful of sorority "Ashleigh's" that walk through the doors - it's actually a fun place to go with a group. Dance floor is on the first floor. Drag shows on the second. EXTREMELY loud even for a gay club. Like bring earplugs cause they don't have any and you will definitely need them. Or better yet don't come at all its an $8 charge for a super dead scene. This is a great Girls night out club! The line outside was hello long and the charge to enter was a bit high. We all wanted to dance the away. The DJ and the 24,000-sq.-ft. dance area were amazing. The bar keeps upstairs make the strongest drinks on the street. Plus, upstairs is where the entertainment is a truly astonishing drag show lounge. I try to get my place early because it gets packed. We visited last night for the show, the place was packed, the show hosted by Cassie was a great time getting to see some favorites and Jaidyn from Rupaul's Drag Race fame. After the show we went downstairs to dance the night away. We were a little disappointed since the DJ was mixing up some terrible music, a mix between techno rap and short hip hop tunes that nobody recognized. Although the place had a sizable crowd, there were just a few people on the dance floor, when the song would change and there were lines to exit the dance floor. I don't know who was spinning, but they should seriously consider showing up to work rather than phoning it in. A Dance Bar should at least have a DJ that is in touch with the partiers. read more

I don't know what's happened to this place but the bar staff has serious issues. I live a mere blocks away and have spent thousands of dollars here and typically had a good time in the past. Here lately though good luck getting anything from the bar staff unless you 25 and cute or one of their friends. Repeatedly past over while standing in line to get a drink by two different bartenders while they helped one friend after another that jumped the line. Now, I've heard that it's one of the best gay clubs in the country.. and I can't attest to that because I've only been in Honolulu (where the gay clubs are def lacking). But I will say that I can believe it! If it's not the best, it's definitely gotta be up there. It's not entirely a gay crowd, it's a pretty decent mix. The place is gigantic! It can be super packed and you won't feel it, which is great. With the exception of Halloween.. it is CROWDED. But an amazing time and a great sight to see. The music is pretty decent, better on some nights than others. The technology of the place is pretty sweet. The drinks are...ehhh. But like I always say, if you can let me know of a night club where the drinks aren't overpriced and watered down, I'll give you... well nothing, but that'd be a pretty hard thing to find. The drag show in the Rose Room is pretty fantastic, but get there early! Parking pretty much blows, but that's Oak Lawn on Fri/Sat. nights. Cover is usually about $6 for 21+ and I want to say $20 for 18+... but don't quote me on that, not 100 on it. The bathrooms are pretty nasty, but that's all clubs. I freaking love this place and always will. It is the home of a hundred amazing memories from their 18+ nights when we were in our senior year of high school, visits both before we could drink and after when my friends and I were in college together, and now that we're older it is STILL amazing to go here drink and dance our asses off. There's several rooms, when you first walk in you're on the dance floor and there are three bars scattered around the edges of the floor. Upstairs there is the rose room and the leather lounge. Rose Room has the famous drag show which if you've never seen you have t osee it! Hilarious and good dance music, just make sure to bring some singles so you can interact with the performers and enjoy yourself. There is also another bar in the Rose Room, so if you're looking for a drink you will never be far from it. The Leather Lounge (at least that's what we call it) is a very cold room overlooking the dance floor that has leather couches and chairs and a quiet little bar that is nice for cooling off or getting away from the music if you need to relax for a bit. I'm pretty sure they have sound proofing in here because it is way quieter than the hallway outside. They also have a courtyard in the back (which is also the only place you can smoke) and it is scattered with tables and chairs, there is also an "upper deck" with some spaces to sit which also serves as an entrance to the Rose Room as well. On the bottom floor there is a small bar off to the side which is usually where the shot boys come from on the busy nights. This place is amazing for dancing and hanging out for any sexual orientation. Come in and expect to have an incredible night! read more

I recently saw the musical Kinky Boots at Fair Park Music Hall and thought it was high time I get back to S4. The last time I enjoyed their show of 'female and illusionists' was summer 2011; way too long ago. A bit has changed since then. They're featuring less of the 'OMG, I can't believe not female' (only two this time) and all the talent spent considerably less time on the stage putting on a show. Most didn't even get through the 3rd line of lip syncing their lyrics before they hopped down to work the crowd for the money grab. The exception was 'Beyonce'; she stormed the stage with 2 backup dancers and truly put on a well choreographed performance. She made the evening worth the while! read more

Came here on a Saturday night after going to a few other bars. Out of all the places we went to that night this one was my favorite. Everyone here is so friendly and accepting. We came here around 1 and it wasn't super busy, but there was a good amount of people. You do have to pay an $8 dollar cover to get it. I guess that's kinda a downside because every other place we went to was free, but it is cheaper than what I pay to get into the club. By the time I finally decided to go buy a drink at the bar, it was already 2 so I can't really say much on the drink prices or if they are any good. This place does have an outdoor patio, and they have free popcorn! Overall I just really like this place and I really recommend coming here if you're looking to have a good time. read more

There are some places In Dallas you can't say you've never been, and some people you shouldn't say you haven't met. The Rose Room, and GM Sandy are two of them. The Rose room offers some of the best impersonation entertainment you'll find ANYWHERE, and Sandy keeps you on your toes with his quick wit, yummy cocktails and big big butt. It doesn't matter if you're part of the gay community or someone who just loves and supports it. you'll love it here and will meet some amazing people from everywhere. Came on a Saturday night; at around 1AM there was no line, which was nice because Uptown got super packed. Unfortunately, i didn't know that there was an 8$ cover charge, but in the end it was pretty worth it. When we walked in, the music had just stopped and the dancefloor was kind of empty. I was pretty worried that this was going to turn into a waste of 8$. But, my friends and I went to the second floor to explore, and we stumbled upon a gem! A.k.a our very first drag show! it was incredibly entertaining; the emcee was hilarious, but beware to not draw her attention/ire, or else you'll be the butt of every joke she makes. The performers were all great, and we had a blast at the show. After 2AM the dancefloor got packed! I think because S4 stays open til 4AM, so everyone shows up around 2. The music was really good later on in the night, and there was a lot of interesting dancing happing on the floor. Overall, great place to go to dance later in the night, but show up a bit early to miss the line and go watch the drag show! read more

I had such a friggin good time it's hard to subtract any stars from this place! My girls took me here for my bachelorette party, so we got here around 9:30 and headed up to the Rose Room. The drag show kept us entertained for hours, but be careful when they pull the bride up to the stage. Some of the girls can be pretty forthright, so be sure the bride to be is not easily offended! :) Be prepared to lose your voice and all your dollars by the end of the night. To end the night, we headed downstairs to dance with the boys who always seem to know how to have a good time! The drinks were cheap ($2 wells) and no worrying about creepy guys hitting on us! The music was good if you don't mind Britney Spears blasting every few minutes (which I don't). They have a safe parking lot to the side of the club which is a huge plus. S4 has a special place in my heart since it was my first gay club (and my my I have been to quite a few since!). Seriously, I do enjoy the club itself. The lighting system is bonkers, the bartenders are adorable and sassy, the Rose Room is always a jackpot of fun, the music is hits-galore, and the place is huge. HUGE! It'll take you all night to explore all the rooms and outdoor area. The only real flaw with the club is perhaps the crowd - it's a lot of young boys and older daddies. And I think the chances of meeting your soulmate here are pretty slim. But if your motivation is to shake your ass to some good dance music and bust a few moves (everyone practices a little at home, right?), then S4 is a good gay time! read more

Always a good night out on the weekends to dance. If you're going out on a Friday night, check the Station 4 Dallas Facebook page for a password that gives you free admission until a certain time. Usually people get stamped early in the night, leave for other bars, and then come back when those other bars close at 2 am to dance the night away. I've stayed several times dancing until 4 am. The Rose Room is upstairs and has great drag. Always a good show up there. Whether you're going out with friends or for a night alone (and maybe on the prowl ), S4 is a place you should check out. Note well: My review only covers what I've experienced when attending the Resource Center of Dallas' monthly GayBingo events; I suspect this is NOT the application that most people have in mind with S4. If you're still interested, read on. :) The primary GayBingo venue is the Rose Room; this area is great for the shows and stage-centric activities. The expansive bar is accessible and features great bartenders who will take good care of you. The men's room features only a single toilet stall with no latch (hmmmm) and several urinals; it's also staffed with an attendant who's good for a smile and a piece of gum or a squirt of cologne. I've also been in the Granite Bar for GayBingo; it's not as well appointed, but still a decent space. Downstairs is the main dance floor, for which I've never been there late enough to see in use, but the metal floor makes me wonder if they break out the bumper cars late at night or something. Again, I can only speak for GayBingo, but S4 seems to be a pretty solid place to me. read more
