First timer here! I came for happy hour with a group of friends and they love this place. I ordered the Crunchy LA and the Lettuce Wrap, and both were amazing. I think I've found my go-to sushi order because I'm still in the beginning stages. One thing that was slightly disappointing was finding out (after my entrees came out) they serve fried rice even though it's not listed on the menu. At least I know for next time. My daughter has celiac disease so I called ahead of time to see if they could accommodate a gluten allergy, they said yes and I even saw they had a separate gluten free menu so seemed great. While it SEEMS that they take precautions, unfortunately my poor daughter definitely got glutened here and now we're dealing with all the classic gluten symptoms. Most sushi restaurants will offer a few rolls, typically avocado and/or cucumber or veggie. Here, they have an extensive vegan sushi menu with delicious and creative offerings. They offer "fake" seafood for customers who are looking for a substitute as well as regular rolls with vegetarian ingredients. My friends and family who aren't vegetarian also love this place! It is decorated well and they have a variety of seating. I HIGHLY recommend the shiitake to me or prince roll as well as the crispy brussels sprouts appetizer. They have great lunch deals and all-day happy hour on sundays. You can also get a free edamame order if you check in on Yelp. I'm slightly mixed about this place, the food quality was there, decent price point, the seating area was clean- but the service was my only real concern. I really wish I could put this higher I got the strawberry daisy ($13) and for it being a more pricey cocktail- I was a little surprised it was all ice. I get it that cocktails come like that but both of mine was all ice and half way filled. I also asked for no salt on the rims but I guess they also forgot that. With the food- nothing wrong- it was all so good! The Spanish fly ($15.50) was a citrus spicy flavor and the salmon nigiri ($9) melts in your mouth. The fried ice cream ($10) isn't appealing looking but really good and HUGE. The service was so slow. I came in a party of 2 during a slow day (weds). Only 3 other people in the seating area- yet it took forever to flag down a waiter to EVEN order, and for 2 rolls and 2 pieces of nigiri it took 40 mins!! I was genuinely starving. I'm giving the business the benefit of the doubt with maybe it was low staffed and our waiter was a new hire since he didn't apologize/say anything on behalf of the kitchen. We stumbled on this place to escape the Texas Heat and were lucky enough to make Happy Hour on a Saturday. YES, this place offers HH on a weekend. The restaurant is quite massive. Its decorations are eclectic. Random art pieces everywhere. Bright fixtures, bright colors. Very interesting. HH menu was extensive and reasonably priced. They have different maki options and rolls including both raw and vegan. Our favorites were the crab curry soup, calamari, and different premium sushi. Fish was quality all around and we enjoyed watching the chefs make the food fresh sitting at the bar. The vegan roll however could be passed on. Besides the delicious food, I want to give a shoutout to the best server ever - TWEEZY. She was friendly, attentive, and really made our dining experience. We loved her outgoing personality. Oh WOW. Did we have a great time here tonight! We used to always go to the Fort Worth location about 8 years ago and the service at this Dallas location is hands down better. We used to always enjoy the Primo's Fire Roll, which is no longer on the menu, so this location did their absolute best to recreate it and did it with flair. Omg it was awesome. Ambiance is fine but I would like it more dimly lit and intimate but it was loud. Super awesome. The server knew exactly what we wanted and it was nice to have someone try to recreate what we wanted. The food is great, the drinks are great, but I can't give it a 5 because of the service. No don't get me wrong our server did nothing wrong. But I believe every single interaction falls in the service. So it's a 25 minute drive and by the time I get there I was told it was an hour wait. The beef on a rock appetizer taste good. I don't know if it's good enough for the price to even try? But I bit the bullet. It's decent but not $18 decent for the serving size. The hand rolls are very enjoyable and the fish quality is really good. Their Flamingo Lingo is so good. I have to recommend it. The sake toro nigiri is standard for the area. The truffle salmon is savory! I enjoyed it a lot. Edamame with salt hit just right. My wife really enjoyed the Philadelphia roll, I think they had a nice balance with the cream cheese as there wasn't too much. Their Coconut breezy is one of the best mixed drinks I've had in a while. But my taste buds are more leaning towards sweet so it was perfect for me. read more
