We called ahead of time as Resy was glitching and were told that we could just walk in and likely wouldn't wait long. Arrived the host was helping someone with a takeout order. We waited. And waited. She never even looked at us or said. "Hi...just give me a minute and I'll be right with you.." 2nd host came to the counter (more than 5 minutes passed as we watched them buzz around and still not say hello). She finally looked up and said, "2"? Then seated us almost silently. We waited another 10 mins for someone to welcome us, say hi, or bring water, then a waiter appeared with a rushed, "Are you ready to order?" Umm....how about drinks? Specials? Anything?? We wanted a beer and were told the taps were empty and the only bottled option was Shiner. Rough start all around. Honestly, we were tempted to leave. It was that uncomfortable. We didn't. For the food: 1. Chopped salad was good, though it's not chopped at all, just a tossed salad. 2. Gnocci was delicious 3. Pizza was very tasty but the crust was strangely soggy/chewy. Maybe that's the style, but I kind of expected a bit of a crunch to it. The flavor all around was great. Our waiter disappeared (I'm assuming his shift ended?) without warning or letting us know someone else would step in. If I had to sum it up, it was almost like we were invisible the whole time we were there. Service can make or break an experience--it broke it for us. Listen, this place delivers on ALOT. Walking in, feels like your in a cute Italy diner. Amazing decor and a homey atmosphere makes you feel both welcome and relaxed. We were immediately greeted and sat even though we were 45 minutes early. The server updated us on his favorites since it was our first time there. The appetizer we got was fried Brussels which were very good but I was sad we had a party of 3 and only 2 pieces of bread was given. Fantastic food, service and Shelby was a join to have as a server. Down the street from our hotel this secret escape is set-up like visiting your nana's home for a delicious home cooked food. I had the margarita pizza and the hubby had the gladiator with chicken. We both finished our pies and shared the panzanella salad without any proteins. Fresh and delicious was the experience. The Zero proof pineapple mule which was recommended by our sever was refreshing and incredibly tasty. The restaurant is upstairs. After a few steps you are welcomed at the front by a greeter and it's a spacious yet intimate space for friends and family. After being seated, we waited for over 20 minutes and no one acknowledged us. It took one person in our party to alert the host before a server arrived, and he wasn't particularly friendly. Disappointing! We ordered many dishes, but the top three were the Burrata e Cavoletti, Fusilli Al Pesto, and Spaghetti Alla Nerano. The pastas were very fresh and flavorful! Partenope has been on my "to-try" list for as long as I've been visiting Dallas for work. I decided to make a stop at lunch around 12pm on a Monday. The framed pictures and decor reminded of my Italian in-laws' house, so I felt the comfort of being at a home. The place was busy but not crowded, and I was able to get seated right away. I started at a table but noticed that the bar had an electric outlet. I moved to the bar and did a bit of work in between waits. Service was excellent. I mentioned to my server that I was on a time crunch and had to get to a meeting by a certain time. She and the kitchen came through with quickly getting my order to me and without compromising flavor or quality. I got the butternut squash bread salad, which was delicious. I can imagine what it's like when it's super busy and buzzing but I'm in acceptance with being able to try the food at a time that works best for me. I devoured an entire Calabrese pie, enjoyed a lovely glass of montepulciano (I liked this better than the Chianti), and topped it all off with their tiramisu and a cappuccino. Service was excellent. They also have tvs which I love, because I like the option of being able to watch a game or two when I eat. I'm totally that person, the one who will watch on my phone if there isn't a tv. There was a pizza/pasta class happening that seemed fun, but by the weekend I'm happy to just relax for a moment and have chef make my pie. I loved that they thanked me in Italian when leaving, it made lunch feel like a trip to Napoli. I'd happily return and recommend. We found this place really close to our hotel in downtown Dallas. Saw it had some of the best pizza in the country so had to try it. We went on a Thursday no reservation figured it would be fine on a weekday and we were seated immediately. Inside was very dark and intimate definitely old school Italian restaurant vibes. For food we went with Burrata E Cavoletti so we could get some veggies for the night. The sprouts had a nice crunch to them. The bread and cheese is exactly how you want to start the meal. My husband and I stopped by Partenope in Dallas before a comedy show last Friday night and were able to partake in their happy hour at the bar. We ended up splitting three apps of the HH menu and two entrees and were very full and satisfied at the end of our meal. The brussels were solid, the prosciutto was a nice contrast between the briny olives and the richness of the cured meat, and the bruschetta had a great fresh flavor from the herbs and tomatoes. Our favorite entree of the night was the fusilli al pesto; it was super fresh and bright and the pesto sauce was very aromatic. We did wish there was a little more textural contrast - it didn't come with too much pistachio or tomatoes, but maybe next time we'd add a protein to mix it up a bit. The pizza wasn't bad but the crust was pretty floppy so it was quite messy to eat and each piece needed to be folded up to stay intact without all the toppings sliding off. I'd probably ask for a pizza to be sliced into 6 instead of 4 pieces in the future. The hot soppressata paired super well with the sweetness of the honey and creamy ricotta, so that was definitely a winning combo. Partenope is a restaurant that creates a vibe when you walk in. From the furniture, color choices, and photos on the walls it's promises a nice dinner connected with a history and heritage that food can speak to. They have a bar area as well as tables and booths. The drink menu impressed me as they not only had a mock tail menu, the menu had a good variety of choices, and they weren't just over hyped mixed fruit juices. They had many special non-alcoholic drink mixes and botanical blends to make them something elevated and special. The server also helped me navigate which would speak to my palate the most and she was absolutely correct! For food we got an appetizer and pasta to share. The burrata e cavolette which was basically crispy Brussel sprouts, pesto, burrata, and crusty bread, and the la genovese a neopilitan pasta with rigatoni, beef, and onion. The appetizer blew my mind. I wish I hadn't shared as I wanted it all to my self. All the textures and tastes were keeping my palate dancing. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the meaty sauce was hearty and satisfying. Friends had ordered the lasagna, I was surprised it was pretty acidic and not developed in flavor, the noodles a bit to soft. It literally triggered chef boyardee memories. This confused me, as everything we had ordered was on another level. I don't know if it's a fluke or if this is how they normally make lasagna. First impression of the restaurant when we walked in was that it was very clean. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the waitress and were seated promptly for lunch on a Saturday. You immediately notice the authentic Italian clay oven and it smells like incredible bread when you walk in. We had to get some. The olive oil is also very high quality. We had a salad with shrimp, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. They had a slight char from the high heat oven, were very well seasoned, and perfectly tender. We also ordered a penne pasta with mushrooms and Parmesan cream. Added shrimp as well. The pasta was clearly made fresh that day and was al dente. Again the shrimp were plump and tender. I visited Partenope Ristorante early Sunday evening around 5 PM. The restaurant was nearly empty when I walked in, to the point that I briefly questioned whether they were open. I ended up sitting at the bar and starting with the focaccia. The focaccia wasn't what I expected. It had more of a crunchy, French bread-like consistency rather than the soft, airy texture I'm used to. It wasn't bad, just not something I'd order again. I did appreciate the nice variety of mocktails on the menu. It's always refreshing to see thoughtful non-alcoholic options that feel just as intentional as the cocktails. For my entrée, I debated between the sea bass and the pesto pasta. The server recommended the sea bass, and flavor-wise, it delivered. It was well-seasoned and extremely flavorful. The only downside was the portion size. It was small for the price, and I left still a bit hungry. It was served in a flavorful buttery sauce with approximately one and a half new potatoes. They were sliced in small rounds, but I'm pretty sure if I stacked them, I would have had no more than 1.5 potatoes. Overall, the food was good, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I was visiting Dallas, so I likely won't be back anytime soon. When it comes to pizza, I want fresh-made Mozzarella, San Marzano tomato sauce, thin Napoli crust, and a 900 deg oven. We were staying at the Anatole, and this place wasn't far. It is nice and quiet, spacious/intimate. I had the Coffee Martini (it had a different name but you'd recognize it), a nice glass of red wine and we devoured a superb pie.
