Walked into the establishment and we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. The place was busy, which is good! Waitress was able to give some really good recommendations for appetizers and food since this was our first time being here. Ambiance is a small town local joint. Loved the local pictures of the fire trucks for the old station. Appetizers were really good would recommend the fried cheese curds. The chicken parmesan sandwich was excellent, not the patty you would get at a school cafeteria but fried and delicious. The fries were much like those at the county fair. Delicious, nice touch of grease, fresh potato taste which make you want more. Drinks were never empty, and even gave use drinks to go. Would recommend this establishment! read more

A no frills small town restaurant that feels like a bar. However, they are known for their house smoked meats so I tried their basket that had one of each in it (pork, chicken, beef), along with some actual, not frozen, fries. Each was very good, though a bit dry. I had them bring me some BBQ sauce, which she said was store bought... The coleslaw was better than many. Service was busy place, Saturday night, bar casual, good. My server said I should try the wings, which she said they are known for, so I may if I go back. Decided to check this place out. Small time place in Commercial Point. Has 9 tables and a bar area. 2 pool tables. Music going. Plenty of Tv's. Today was slider special, buck a piece. Rachel was my waitress, super personality and more than helpful. Checked on me often and did refills often. Onion petals we're hand made with Chipotle ranch dipping sauce. Yummy. Mac n cheese was definitely home made, a blend of 3 cheeses, good flavor to it. I tried each of the sliders, chicken, pork and brisket. Pork and brisket were outstanding. Had 2 ribs which cooked perfectly and they put BBQ sauce on, not tough at all. The chicken wings were also smoked with a nice spice coating and some BBQ sauce on them. Baked beans were quite different, had pulled pork and chopped onions in them, also a blend of BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Sides are huge servings. read more

Carryout review Love the Thursday wing special(see pic). I have only so far sampled the sausage sandwich(see pic), and the wings. Lot's of wings. My co-workers comments on his Swiss-Mushroom burger are as follows. Juicy well portioned burger on a non-descript bun. He could not recall if it was toasted. The swiss was so melted, that much of it had slid down on to the fries. I saw the separate boxing of the LTO. I thought it looked minimal. He did say the fries were crisp and well seasoned(even after a 12min car ride). The sausage sandwich I had once, needs work. Nice smoked sausage, and grilled, diced onions & peppers. The improvement could be, not splitting the sausage to let all of the moisture get grilled out. I think it needs a better roll, maybe grilled. It also needs a spicy brown mustard to compliment the smoky meat flavor. The wings are traditional bone-in, non-breaded. Standard sizes. Nothing that was organic tiny, or steroid huge. They are all smoked with a house rub. Sauce is added after. There is no fryer involved. I do recommend the wings plain with no sauce to get the full taste of that smoked flavor and seasoned rub. As I work my way through the combinations of flavor offerings, I am currently on plain with extra rub and some of my own hot sauce. Let it be known that they only use Frank's. A missed opportunity to use someone locals recipe sauce. I found the BBQ wings to be especially sweet and sticky. Usually the result of molasses. It's good enough, just not my choice. Many of my co-workers will order no other flavor but the BBQ wings. Carryout drinks are in Styrofoam cups off the bar soda gun. To bad cans or bottles aren't offered. The woman working lunch behind the bar has been very friendly, and helpful. On the phone taking orders, bagging orders, and cashing out multiple rendered payments. She is always the utmost professional and courteous with a smile. So the $.60 wing special on Thursday lunch is a tremendous value for a great tasting wing. read more

I've delayed reviewing this place to give it some time to recover. We've visited this place quite a few times in the past years. Service is always good, but the food is dry. Consistently dry. Fries are over cooked, dark, and dry; they are always broken up in tiny pieces. Burgers are dry. Bun is even dry. We were in town as the result of a funeral. Stopped in here for a quick bite before heading home. I had the brisket sandwich and my wife had the BBQ sliders. This is a wonderful place to eat! Station House 81 is a great family friendly bar with some of the best bar food in Ohio! I highly recommend their mild smoked wings 10/10 , their Gouda Mac n cheese bites are to die for! And Me and my boyfriend personally love their Italian subs! Staff is super welcoming and friendly and we are always treated like family in Station House 81! This joint is a chill spot to take some friends or family to grab a few brews and eat some good food or even to Go sing Karaoke with friends and family. Not much to look at when you first walk in but great smoked wings. Prices are reasonable.

Really solid food at very reasonable prices. From the smoker I've tried the pork belly bites and rib tips which are smoky enough with still a little chew to the meat which I prefer. The sauce is a little on the sweet side, but works well with the flavorful meats. I've also had the Piggy Back Burger that layers bacon and a pork belly chunk onto a burger. It's really satisfying though the burger patties here are on the thin side. The endless fries are obviously fresh cut with perfect crispiness on the outside and a fluffy inside. As for the bar/restaurant there's a conventional bar area with a pool table and stage for live music or karaoke. They also have a nice, but sometimes drafty, dining room area and a decent patio. It seems they have upped their wine selection if that's your thing, but there's only about 5 beers on tap and at least 3 of them are typical domestics. Probably more 4.5 star for the food, but the prices for food and drink bump it to a 5 on my scale. Also, the folks here are really pleasant. Nearby Grove City, which is the closest place that has some restaurant selection for this area, is letdown after letdown of chain restaurants, but the little town of CP (my hometown) has a restaurant doing things from scratch, with real flavor, and some creativity. read more

We absolutely cannot say enough about this place! We happened upon it by accident. Our daughter's softball team was in Columbus for a tournament and we were looking for a place to hold a team dinner. After searching on Yelp, I came across this restaurant. The menu had a little something for everyone: pizza, subs, burgers, BBQ, salads, etc. I called to see if they could accommodate a group of about 40 on a Saturday evening. They said absolutely not an issue, they have a private dining area in the front. A bit later the chef called me to let me know that the first person I talked to was unaware that there was already a birthday party in that room, but it was still not a problem to accommodate us. She gave me her cell Number to keep in touch with her in case our plans changed. This is an old fire station converted to a small town bar/restaurant. The food was excellent! Not a single complaint about the quality and taste from any of the 40 people in our group. The prices are extremely reasonable as well. They have both a chef and a pit master working here. I strongly recommend any of the BBQ items! If I had any issues, it was that the arrival of our food was slow and staggered for a few people, but not too bad, considering we brought 40 people, added to a private birthday party and their normal locals. Staff was extremely friendly! We were staying in Grove City. This place is about 15 minutes south of there, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but well worth the drive! read more

We went wondering and found this place in Commercial Point. We checked out the menu and the prices seemed decent and we like to try new BBQ places. When you walk in it looks very bar-ish. The menu board for specials has every day listed and Saturdays were $11.99 full rack of ribs. The server came by and was very nice and took drink orders. Then the owner came by and started chatting. He recommended we try the wings as it was their last order before they were out. We decided to and also both ordered a rack of ribs, and each wanting to try the appetizers of fried pickles and the fried pepper rings. The appetizers were homemade and hand breaded as everything is homemade including the ranch (ranch snob here). Then the wings came out. One bite and I regretted getting mild and should have gotten bbq because they are such an amazing smiley flavor they probably didn't even need the sauce. They were some of the best wings I've ever had. Then the ribs came out and they were about 18 inches long! There was so much meat on them, after 4 ribs your full! I'm not sure how they can sell them for only $11.99. They were terrific. Only catch is they don't come with sides. We tried a side of Coke slaw and baked beans and both were up to par with the rest of the food. The waitress (Allison) did a great job and the owner stopped my several times to see how things were. They weren't too busy inside only a few other tables, but had a constant takeout stream of orders. The place was clean and so we're the bathrooms. I reserved the front area for my son's graduation party this past weekend. It was a very relaxing place with great food and service. A few weeks before I met the owners on a visit with my kids and they were so nice and easy to talk to. They wanted to make sure everything was great for my son's party. I can't say enough about the food. We had the pulled pork sandwiches and cole slaw. The waitress was very helpful and made sure everything was perfect. She was friendly and checked on us. Everyone loved it! We will be going back for dinner!! If you need a nice relaxing place for a party, their place is a great one!! read more

We have been going here for years!!! Service last night was terrible and food was awful!!! None of the food tastes smoked any more and wings seemed to be undercooked. Thankfully they have not changed their French fries. Fried pickles the batter falls off. Son's burger was Brunt. When we got there we cleaned our own table which was no big deal. Our server took forever to bring our drinks. We asked for plates she never brought them we had to go get them. Hubby ordered a beer and she forgot it. He had to flag her down and ask again. We had to go to the bar to get refills on water. She told us she had a lot of people up front. Which made us feel as if we did not matter. I looked forward to trying this place and was hopeful the menu looked good. I wasn't impressed however with their brisket I ordered the Po Boy Brisket with slaw fresh cut fries. I will say fries and slaw were fine but Brisket was horrible. I do not believe what was on my Po Boy was brisket at all It tasted like roast beef from a crock pot absolutely no smoke flavor no smoke ring or char and a generous amount of FAT included. One of the owners did offer to give me a replacement meal but this was after I had already paid and had It in my mind to leave. I will probably try again but I will be steering clear of any brisket. read more
