Walked into the establishment and we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. The place was busy, which is good! Waitress was able to give some really good recommendations for appetizers and food since this was our first time being here. Ambiance is a small town local joint. Loved the local pictures of the fire trucks for the old station. Appetizers were really good would recommend the fried cheese curds. The chicken parmesan sandwich was excellent, not the patty you would get at a school cafeteria but fried and delicious. The fries were much like those at the county fair. Delicious, nice touch of grease, fresh potato taste which make you want more. Drinks were never empty, and even gave use drinks to go. Would recommend this establishment!

One of each slider, fresh cut fries, coleslaw, rum and Diet Coke, extra BBQ sauce.

A no frills small town restaurant that feels like a bar. However, they are known for their house smoked meats so I tried their basket that had one of each in it (pork, chicken, beef), along with some actual, not frozen, fries. Each was very good, though a bit dry. I had them bring me some BBQ sauce, which she said was store bought... The coleslaw was better than many. Service was busy place, Saturday night, bar casual, good. My server said I should try the wings, which she said they are known for, so I may if I go back. My rum and Diet Coke was acceptable but nothing exceptional.

    Delicious Garlic Parmesan Wings!

This tavern is a little gem located in Commercial Point, Ohio just south of Columbus a couple miles off Hwy. 23 south. Their meats are smoked to perfection and the service is warm and friendly.

Decided to check this place out. Small time place in Commercial Point. Has 9 tables and a bar area. 2 pool tables. Music going. Plenty of Tv's. Today was slider special, buck a piece. Rachel was my waitress, super personality and more than helpful. Checked on me often and did refills often. Onion petals we're hand made with Chipotle ranch dipping sauce. Yummy. Mac n cheese was definitely home made, a blend of 3 cheeses, good flavor to it. I tried each of the sliders, chicken, pork and brisket. Pork and brisket were outstanding. Had 2 ribs which cooked perfectly and they put BBQ sauce on, not tough at all. The chicken wings were also smoked with a nice spice coating and some BBQ sauce on them. Baked beans were quite different, had pulled pork and chopped onions in them, also a blend of BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Sides are huge servings.

Carryout review Love the Thursday wing special(see pic). I have only so far sampled the sausage sandwich(see pic), and the wings. Lot's of wings. My co-workers comments on his Swiss-Mushroom burger are as follows. Juicy well portioned burger on a non-descript bun. He could not recall if it was toasted. The swiss was so melted, that much of it had slid down on to the fries. I saw the separate boxing of the LTO. I thought it looked minimal. He did say the fries were crisp and well seasoned(even after a 12min car ride). The sausage sandwich I had once, needs work. Nice smoked sausage, and grilled, diced onions & peppers. The improvement could be, not splitting the sausage to let all of the moisture get grilled out. I think it needs a better roll, maybe grilled. It also needs a spicy brown mustard to compliment the smoky meat flavor. The wings are traditional bone-in, non-breaded. Standard sizes. Nothing that was organic tiny, or steroid huge. They are all smoked with a house rub. Sauce is added after. There is no fryer involved. I do recommend the wings plain with no sauce to get the full taste of that smoked flavor and seasoned rub. As I work my way through the combinations of flavor offerings, I am currently on plain with extra rub and some of my own hot sauce. Let it be known that they only use Frank's. A missed opportunity to use someone locals recipe sauce. I found the BBQ wings to be especially sweet and sticky. Usually the result of molasses. It's good enough, just not my choice. Many of my co-workers will order no other flavor but the BBQ wings. Carryout drinks are in Styrofoam cups off the bar soda gun. To bad cans or bottles aren't offered. The woman working lunch behind the bar has been very friendly, and helpful. On the phone taking orders, bagging orders, and cashing out multiple rendered payments. She is always the utmost professional and courteous with a smile. So the $.60 wing special on Thursday lunch is a tremendous value for a great tasting wing.

I was getting ready to leave a review and it says "update review" lol. Oops. Wings are still solid, the boneless are a Sisco or Costco standards but I had to try them. I'll definitely order the Pork rinds over fries. They came out hissing and popping like a plate of fajitas and were awesome. Dunking them in the hot garlic butter was a bonus, damn near spiritual experience. Wash it down with whatever IPA the bartender grabbed me and I'm in heaven. Run the BBQ Costco homeless wings thru the Hot Garlic butter and suddenly the game changes. Now I realize it's all about the sauce. Somebody create an "It's all about the sauce" t-shirt and I'm buying one. I swear these pork rinds are regenerating. Or I need to ask the bartender exactly what I'm drinking. Wrapping it up, I probably would skip the homeless wings. They remind me of the at home air fryer bottom dwellers. So stick to wing wings. OK I'm finished. And I still have a full plate of regenerating pork rinds.

Needed lunch and thought about North High Street, but was not already mentally preparing to fight for parking like it's a Black Friday sale in 2003. Audible called. Swung into Grove City instead. Smart move. Possibly my best decision since I stopped trusting gas station hotdogs. After some extensive research (opened Yelp Columbus judged harshly, moved on), I had three requirements: 1. Not a cookie-cutter chain 2. Somewhere new 3. A menu that wouldn't trigger "I don't see anything I like" syndrome Enter: Broadway Plates & Pints 4008 Broadway, Grove City Grove City is that sweet spot... close enough to Columbus to feel alive, but still has that "people wave at you for no reason" energy. Parked on the street like a rookie, only to later discover there's parking behind everything. If you can't find a spot, just check the rear. Yes, I said it. Walked in, grabbed a seat. Smaller place, but in a good way. Elevated tables, bar seating, normal tables for us normal-ish folks. Big windows for prime people-watching. My dimpled sidekick even got a wave from a random passerby. #Friendly #ShesGotFans Then... plot twist... Cleveland Ketchup Company Ketchup sitting on the table. Didn't even know ketchup could have a hometown. #OH.. All-natural, Ohio-made, no junk. And yeah... it's actually really good. The Bald Bunch supports local, even if it's tomatoes living their best life. Check Cleveland Ketchup Company out. They have plenty of locally sourced condiment options. #supportlocal Server Emma B rolls up, keeps it simple. Water and a Michelob ULTRA for me. Because hydration matters... and so does survival. We were starving, so appetizer time: Fried Mozzarella Triangles Hot, crispy, did the job. Not life-changing, not disappointing. The Toyota Camry of appetizers. Reliable. Gets you where you need to go. Now the menu... solid lineup. Burgers, wings, calzones, sandwiches, enough options to make commitment issues flare up. I was bouncing between a calzone, Italian sub, or burger... Then I saw it... THE KRAKEN And listen... you don't order The Kraken. You summon it. This thing shows up like it just crawled out of the Atlantic looking for revenge: * THREE patties (because one or two is for amateurs) * Bacon * American cheese * Caramelized onions * Onion ring * Steak aioli * Brioche bun * AND a honey butter pretzel sitting on top like a crown Just in case was not already enough calories. This wasn't lunch. This was a full-contact event. Immediately ate the onion ring and honey butter pretzel solo like a savage. Then went to work. Multiple napkins required. Not first-date safe. Not job interview safe. Possibly not OSHA approved. But man... it was GOOD. Patties cooked right. Bacon had that perfect bite. Aioli and onions brought it all together like a greasy symphony. Left full... borderline questioning life choices... but zero regrets. Fries? Solid. Pretzel Topper? Sneaky good. Honestly might go back just for those. Service? Emma B crushed it. Drinks stayed filled, no disappearing act, no "I'll be right back" and then vanishing into another dimension. Now... let's talk price. $54.25 for lunch. Look... I get it. Everything costs more now. But I'm still gonna complain about it like it's my full-time job. Either prices come down or someone needs to give me a raise. Preferably both. And one more thing... Beer was cold. BUT NOT IN A FROSTED MUG. Unacceptable. Somewhere, Congress is wasting time when they could be solving real issues like this. Draft beer should never warm up mid-drink. That's just science. Final Rating: ‍‍‍‍ - 4 out of 5 Bald Heads Pros: * Parking (once you stop ignoring the back lot like I did) * Great people-watching windows * Filling, legit good food * Friendly, attentive staff Cons: * No frosted mugs (we can fix this, I believe in you) * Prices... but also, apparently I just complain now #OldMan If you're cruising through Grove City and want solid food, a relaxed vibe, and a burger that might require a waiver... this is your spot. And - order some Ohio Condiments at Cleveland Ketchup Company. #FreeShipping #SupportLocal #BaldApproved #ReleaseTheKraken

The place has that classic small-town dive bar feel, the kind of spot where you walk in expecting a casual bite and end up being pleasantly surprised by how good the food actually is. It's relaxed, welcoming, and feels like a place locals probably keep to themselves. We started with something called Hillbilly Calamari, and despite the name, there's no squid involved. Instead, it's sliced banana peppers lightly breaded and fried, served with ranch. They were crispy, tangy, and had just the right little kick. A really fun and unique starter. Served with ranch dressing 9/10 But the wings absolutely stole the show. They're slow smoked first and then flash fried, which gives them a great smoky flavor while keeping the outside crispy and the inside juicy and tender. I tried two flavors -- Cody's mix which was Bourbon BBQ mixed with spicy garlic which had a great smoky flavor a sweet and savory richness with a hint of kick from the bourbon and I ordered the Spicy Garlic, which packed a bold garlicky heat that really popped. Both wings were excellent. 20/10 And of course, you can't go wrong with the fresh-cut fries on the side. Fries were good, but could have been a little crispier for my preference. 7/10 One of the coolest things about the place is the grill right behind the bar, where you can watch them as they're cooking your burger while you watch. It adds to that laid-back, old-school bar atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel authentic. Katy was are server and she was super friendly and on top of refills and kept checking on us. This is definitely a place that makes you feel comfortable and welcome. If you're anywhere near Ashville, this is definitely worth a stop. Great wings, fun appetizers, and a relaxed neighborhood vibe make it a place I'd happily come back to for another bite!! Have a great day from Brian From Brian's Big Bite
