I called due to my AC struggling to keep the house cool during the summer temps Originally I was not shown any digital diagnostics but was told multiple times that the refrigerant was not low First attempt was replacing the TXV, which I was told made no change Then I was quoted for a coil replacement I agreed and had that service done Here is where the problems kind of escalated To replace the coil refrigerant has to be removed, I was informed that I was actually low by 2lbs from a 5lb system Not only that, the system performance was still the exact same after the coil was replaced... they confirmed this with their sensors Then I spoke to the previous home owner who told me the coil was replaced just 2 years ago, so a coil failing that quick is almost impossible... Everything pointed to the fact that the coil was not actually the problem at all and that this service was done unnecessarily I ended up putting the diagnostics I was provided into AI which also had the same opinion that based on everything and my situation, the coil replacement was not needed I had to call them back because their own diagnostics showed that the system was still performing poorly and there was a diagnostic test that was not done even from the beginning which would have actually proven whether the coil needed to be replaced or not I figured out from the data I was given that the issue was the blower was turned to the max setting As soon as it was adjusted then the AC system was performing correctly So in the end the system was actually low on refrigerant and a simple adjustment on the blower was all we really needed I was still charged for the full coil service, no discount To this day we can't say for certain that the coil replacement was necessary and there was no change in the system after it was replaced The main change occurred after our blower was adjusted... Had the FULL digital diagnostic been done from the beginning I would have concrete data, but instead I was only provided with a digital diagnostic after the coil replacement Before the coil replacement I was only shown a hand held analog device which had a small amount of data and did not actually show that we needed a new coil I do feel like I was ripped off and regret not getting a second opinion before going with the full coil replacement, which came out to 1700$ I do appreciate the honesty ( which is why this isn't a 1 star review ), they didn't have to admit that we were actually low on refrigerant and that the temperatures were the exact same before and after the coil swap They did return to make the adjustment to the blower when I called, but it should have been done before leaving to be honest In the end I still feel like I should not have been charged the full coil replacement price, based on everything that happened.... Because it looked like all we really needed was a refrigerant refill and a blower adjustment which should be have been a couple hundred at most.... -1 for not providing full digital diagnostic from the beginning -1 for charging me the full price even after we all saw there was no change in the system after the coil swap read more

We had a motor which burned out on our furnance (it suppose to snow tonight in Sedona) and needed to be repaired. Once the part was ordered and received, Stay Cool came out and fixed the issue. Stay Cool helped me balance my 3 year old homes air-conditioning system. 2-3 other companies here in Chino Valley tried to help and tried to fish me into unnecessary "let me service" (wash) your outside condenser and hook up to check pressures . I told them i did that 2 weeks back . Stay cool came over to explain there process of mapping the attic ducts to calculate this loss of flow to the far side of this house. put there hands on my condenser lines and with a heat gun and airflow meter could see what i was talking about . Within 4 days there ready to come start the changes . Today not only is my house now with a 1-2 degree difference, but my thermostat now monitors the outside temperature and changed the dual fuel needed to keep my energy usage to peek efficiency. I was so impressed with what I learned from them , I had them put a mini split in my garage with a air handler and ducts that is so efficient, it will NEVER have a need of dual fuel to heat or cool my garage. that is a savings ! Stay Cool was the only company that was upfront and answered my initial question about a maintenance cost, noting I have two units. Garrett responded and let me know the cost would be $99 per unit, while the other companies said to call them to schedule. I checked their reviews and they were all very positive, so I called and scheduled. Jeff came out and checked both units and told me they were both in perfect working order and there were no repairs. They are fabulous and so very knowledgeable. Came out, gave me an estimate and we set a date and time. I had to have a complete air/heating system put in. They came out, did their job which was greater than it should have been but the one that had to be removed was not done as well as it could have been. Apparently, because of that, they had more work to do. Never had a complaint, just did what had to be done. They are a full service company and they will be my go to for all my heating and plumbing needs. They are as honest as the day is long and besides being very professional,they are very congenial.
