I stayed here a few weeks ago and no problems with the facility itself. Really nice and roomy. Clean and nice ammenities. Seems like it may have been a Residence Inn at one time so it's a good value at the price that I paid. This time things didn't go as smoothly but still 5 stars as it wasn't something they could control and the employees were great. Unfortunately they were experiencing a facility wide hot water issue outage for a couple days. I also had an issue with the lock on my door which kept me from being able to get into my room when I was in a big hurry. Initially they thought it was the battery but they literally had to use a wire under the door to reach up and grab the handle from the inside to get it open. Pretty impressive manever really. The combination of the problems from the facility were frustrating but the manager (Daniella) was great. I'm sure she was dealing with a lot of unhappy travelers but she is so empathetic and kind that it would be impossible to leave with a negative overall impression of the place. She ended up transfering me to another hotel on the other side of the parking lot which was just as nice. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Austin as any facility can have mechanical issues but very few will have the staff to handle things so well. read more

Pretty impressed with this Staybridge Suites - have not stayed with this specific chain before but after this experience, will look out for more Staybridge Suites on future travels. My group was lucky enough to be upgraded to a 2 bd/2 bath suite and it was NICE. My only critique is the lack of a kitchen table and chairs. Having a stove and moderate size refrigerator were benefits but if I'm going to cook or heat anything up, I need a place to sit down. The living room small couch was not enough seating for our group. Other than that, we had a great experience staying here. Breakfast spread was pretty good - yogurts, fruit, cheeses, hot foods, breads, etc. Front desk service was attentive - I had a minor issue checking in and that was remedied quickly. I also had a check out billing issue and that was addressed promptly. The property throughout - rooms, hallways, breakfast area - were maintained well and clean. read more

Wonderful hotel. The staff are very helpful and provide great hospitality. The breakfast is pretty decent for a continental breakfast. It is a bit of a older hotel, some updates are needed. However it is still a nice hotel. Monday through Wednesday nights there are free appetizers and free beer and wine. Laundry is free too! read more

This has been a good find in the north Austin area. It's a little further out than some of the other Arboretum area hotels but that can actually be a good thing in terms of being able to get to it and get up and down 183 (the ones closer to MoPac can be difficult. The rooms I've stayed in were the Suites in which there was a sofa/lounge in a living room area with a TV (tons of channels) adjacent to a full kitchen (including full fridge). Cupboard is filled with plenty of cooking pots, pans, utensils, etc. so you're covered for the long-term stay. We've just stayed overnight and haven't used as much. I will say one time, I was looking for a water pitcher and opened the dishwasher and it was apparent the cleaning staff cleaned, but did not empty the D/W (some of the items turned over and were full of water). I'm sure could have been addressed with management had I chosen to. The bedroom (in our case, 2 twins) was very comfortable with the dark curtains to black out the room if you're sleeping off hours or just sleeping in. Bathroom a bit small (commode and shower in a door closed room with sink outside). Lots of shelving and hanging areas. Breakfast was the highlight. FULL hot breakfast. Eggs, meat, cold cuts, fruit, bread, pancake/waffle machine, every bread imaginable to toast, oats, you name it. Two varieties of coffee and four juices (although two were out). Signs were also up for a complimentary hospitality hour after work on Monday through Wednesday (two drink maximum). Fashionable seating area around a good environment. Staff as friendly as could be. My boyfriend and I needed a last minute stay hoping for a decent quality experience. The front desk agent informs my boyfriend upon check-in that they are booked out of the specific kind of room we wanted, and that we would need to pay for an upgrade on a 2 bedroom stay (to get the similar amenities that we needed.) It was a messy experience nonetheless, and we ended up taking their offer of what they considered to be a solution. They placed us in a 2 bedroom spot where one of the bedrooms' AC wasn't working, and the other bedroom had a nasty water leak coming from the ceiling. When my boyfriend went to complain about the water leak, they just told him "We know." Also, whoever used the bathroom before us DEFINITELY forgot to flush. read more

Update::::::; food poisoning from breakfast meat! Stay away from this place! Our insurance placed us here due some repair we had no idea what or where we're getting into! Here are the problems: 1) Very unsafe environment. Apparently there are a lot of temporary construction workers who stay here so that explains, no offense to people who do constructions, the questionable dusty people who were smoking in the parking lot late nights with their loud trucks. This is NOT a generalization but there were some people that we felt pretty uncomfortable sharing the same entrance door and hallway with! 2) The facility is NOT clean and well maintained! On day three we didn't get housekeeping service, least to say fresh towels or get the trash removed. The parking lot looks like a dumpster and a lot of broken trees from the freeze storm two weeks ago. One of the rooms had broken windows and I think someone had vandalized it but no one cared to fix. I'll post pictures. 3) The suit next door had a couple who were constantly fighting. The hallway smell of weed would get you high on Saturday night. Although not the facility being at fault directly, still a negative aspect considering the type of people who stay there. 4) If you care about the free breakfast chances are that you'll be disappointed with what you get. Update: MY HUSBAND GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THEIR BREAKFAST BACON/SAUSAGE!!!!!!! Worst experience ever. I think they reuse their left over breakfast meat for the next day! It's an alright place to stay. My boyfriend stays here for work months at a time, and I usually come spend a few days with him from time to time. Anyway, the hotel is on 183/ Research Blvd. It's clean and looks new, but it's obviously been open for some years. And it seems to be a safe location. Tues- Thursday evenings food is served downstairs. Stuff like hamburgers. I've never gone down, so I can't talk much about it. The hotel is cool. Nothing special, but definitely better than some others. read more

I stood here this past weekend and as a platinum member we got the shittiest service first off when we got there we were never asked if we wanted the points or the snacks which is something they usually do as we got to our room we usually get complimentary water there was nada ! Then they new we would be using the extra bed and they didn't give us sheets pillows or a comforter that sofa bed had nothing . We had to also ask for extra towels cuz there was only 2 n we was a party of 4 Before we left we asked if we could have the stuff that we needed they said it would be there once we got back . We come back and nothing we call again and awhile later they show up And just threw it on a chair lol I guess I'll make my own bed then huh lmao ... then we go downstairs and it says on a nice box complimentary for platinum members so theirs sodas and snacks my husband took 2 things n walked away a lady came running say excuse me you gotta pay for that n my husband said oh ok it says complimentary for platinum members n she said no it's snacks or points when you check in n he said we no one asked me that n she rolled her eyes n said fine take it lol meanwhile my daughter is buying waters n sodas plus snacks n everything is hot straight from their fridge . If you don't like this place, all I can tell you is you have first world problems. Not true problems which plague the majority of humanity, but truly first world problems. The Internet speed is in fast enough, or the towels are wide enough, or it isn't exactly 73° in every room you enter. This place is very clean, extremely safe and has lights all around the parking lot to ensure safety of vehicles. The layout is fantastic. It does not feel combative like when you first walk in to a normal hotel, with a counter and a person behind it to grudgingly looks up at you. Instead, it is kind of hidden away to the side, with management and staff clearly visible and working at all times. This is my second stay in this facility, and I plan on staying here each visit. read more

Overall stay was a solid 4 stars. I've never stayed at any of this hotel locations. Since Austin's hotels were basically booked, I lucked out in getting a room here. PAID 159W/ TAXES = 183 for one night. Meh. I have to mention that other low chain hotels were at $200 w/out taxes, so I was lucky to book one of the last rooms here. The location was suitable for my needs. I was able to go to the Oasis in approximately 20 mins which felt like 10 and drove to the PAC (Leander,Tx) in 15ish minutes. Hotel was clean, fast check-in/out, room was stocked with anything you needed, continental breakfast, and sufficient parking Funny for a hotel that claimed to be booked solid there were a number of empty parking spaces, even in the adjacent hotel. We checked in after 6pm on Sunday, after being at a Easter event all day and just wanted to get into the room, bathe, and relax. We've stayed at at least one more of these places in Houston and Clear Lake, so we expected things to be OK. Nothing doing! From the receptionist who seemed liked she really didn't want to be there (her personal phone kept beckoning her with its incessant beeping, alerting her to a couple of text messages) we felt our good day slipping into a bad experience. Next, the toilet seat hinge was broken, so whenever I sat on it, it slid from underneath me and pandered off to the right. WTF? You would venture that no one must have reported it, but I say that if a housekeeping person was truly doing his or her job, this would be reported already and if the maintenance person really cared (and had the part), this would be fixed. AWFUL MAINTENANCE!!!! Also, during our showers, the bathtub filled to just up to our ankles. When cleaning the bathtub for my little one to get in, I noticed that it didn't take much for the seemingly clogged tub to fill up with water. BAD MAINTENANCE! I gather that the folks who "mis-maintain" this establishment either aren't supported by those who oversee them or they plain just don't give a damn, which is more than likely. A pay check means doing the least amount to get your hands dirty, even if it is at the expense of customers getting theirs dirty. I gave it two stars because they at least had a bed in the room. Best pricing in this part of town....but you get what you pay for! read more

Not a clean hotel! We've been to many Staybridge hotels but this one was the worst experience so far. This is not a family friendly hotel. We stayed there for 4 days, hallways smelled like cigarettes and marijuana at nights. Sheets had stains on them. Not even once housekeeper came to our room to clean or replace towels during that 4 days. Their microwave wasn't working. Their heater was working randomly , at night we were cold and heater wasn't warming up our room . They also charged our credit card TWICE more like we stayed there for 12 days instead of 4 days ! It's been two weeks we are calling them and asking them to refund the money. Each time different person answers , they do say they did take care of it and refunded the money but then they charged us AGAIN on our credit card. After two weeks , we had to call our bank and request dispute on the charges. PLEASE BE AWARE: Apparently we are not the only guests that they've been charging them for extra days! read more

This hotel gets one star only because of the nice gals at the front desk and the wonderful lady who prepares the food. Other then that this place is disgusting! Not only is the manager Mehul rude to his staff, treats them badly but also feels that do not disturb signs on your door don't apply to him. He will knock on the door and when you don't answer he will call more then once until you answer. That's pretty creepy in itself if you ask me! The showers are disgusting and without slip matts so I've fallen twice. But the best is this place has bed bugs! Yep you heard it right bed bugs! I woke up to find a fully fed bed bug walking across the sheets. I travel almost weekly for work, so have stayed in a variety of hotels to compare to. I had several complaints about this hotel I won't stay here again. For starters, one of the beds made my legs itch like crazy, and had a major indentation from people sleeping in it. Luckily there were two beds, so I was able to hop into the second bed, which was fine and comfortable. My second complaint is that there wasn't any hot water in the morning. Maybe they ran out? I highly recommend taking a shower at night, unless you want a semi-cold-to-lukewarm shower. The fitness center isn't too bad. However, 2 of the treadmills were not working completely up to par. The bands were lose and felt like I was running unsteady. The room was clean, but was worn with stains here and there. The walls are thin, but I've stayed in worse. Either way, it's a drag to be woken up by your next door neighbors in the middle of the night. The breakfast was OK. Nothing amazing, but many options. The fireplace in the eating area is a nice touch and I love the natural stone. Lastly, when I went downstairs to ask about the hot water status, I learned that there had been an incident involving two prostitutes that had stabbed one of the hotel guests and robbed him. The lobby was swarmed by cops with semiautomatic rifles from all directions. I was escorted back to my room by the police officers. I was more impressed by the cops, their response time and professionalism, than the hotel. Considering that the front desk staff knew that I was having issues with hot water, witnessed an incident response and was concerned about my safety, I am surprised that the hotel has made no effort whatsoever to compensate or partially refund my stay. read more

Single night stopover in Austin for UT event. Property a good ways out in the burbs, a few places (coffee, restaurants, etc.) within a couple of miles along the freeway, but hotel is not in the newer sections of town. Property was well used, lots of folks, though not new, it was clean. Room was large with small mini kitchen, ample sitting area. Standard breakfast in the AM, mostly frozen or precooked food heated up and served on buffet, accompanied by yogurt cups, the ubiquitous waffle iron and cold cereal, some fruit. Staff very courteous and welcoming, no issues at all with stay, would consider again if the drive back into town was not quite so far. read more

Stay on the lower floors- the elevator has broken down the last three times I've stayed here. And they don't fix it quickly. It's been 2 days now. This is a hotel that my company puts people, and I have recently told them not to. The rooms are fine, but the service (particularly the night service) leads something to be desired. The elevator breaks a lot, and if you are on the fourth floor and need to lug suitcases or equipment back and forth it's a pain. Breakfast, while included, is pretty icky. They do have free cheap wine and beer if you need that at the end of the day (only Tues-Thurs). Story to exemplify, i was checking out of the hotel, room on 4th, no elevator. I needed help with my bags, because I had an injury and couldn't carry everything. Checked with the front desk, they wrote it "in the book" that someone would be available to help me at 6am. I called at 6am, got a very irritated front desk person, who came up and proceeded to drop my suitcase down the stairs on landing at a time. Luckily I didn't have anything fragile, but come 'on. I just think we deserve better. read more

i know, what's up with 5 stars for a 3-star hotel, right? but seriously, for what staybridge is, this one is absolute perfection. we usually host our out of town guests at our home - but due to some unforeseen circumstances (mainly our house burning down...on christmas morning...yeah, we're those people) we were unable to host the whole fam damily when they came to austin for our daughter's graduation from high school last weekend. my bro and his wife used their points to stay at the high-falootin' and always lovely renaissance hotel at the arboretum. i'll review them separately because they're not on the same par..but suffice it to say that my bro doled out major pointage to stay there. my folks do not have points. so i used my trusty friend priceline to find them a place near our home. and luckily for us, i chose staybridge suites on 183 between spicewood springs and anderson mill roads. and my folks commented, oh pretty much daily, about what a great deal i got for them at staybridge. the hotel is pretty much brand new so everything was crisp and sparkling. true it is on the access road to 183 but once you are inside, you're not really aware of that. rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the employees are friendly and helpful, there is a fitness center, a small pool, and an office area (i assume free wifi but did not verify that). the rooms are all suites so you'll have a mini-kitchen completely stocked with dishes and glassware. on top of all of that, they offer a free warm breakfast buffet every morning and a complimentary happy hour tuesdays through thursdays. everything was really perfect, and my parents did not for one second look wistfully at the renaissance when we went to pick up my brother and sis in law. they were over-the-top happy. and when they're happy, i'm happy! in their niche, this 3-star gets a 5-star high-five from me. read more

I came here on a business trip and really enjoyed my short stay here. From the moment I arrived the front desk staff were very gracious and extremely friendly. The room was very large and comfortable, great value for the price paid. I rested very well, my room was very clean. I did not get to stay long enough to truly appreciate all of the amenities offered in the room. After going through one night of WWIII at Candlewood suites, we decided to cancel our reservation and find another hotel to accommodate the rest of our nights in Austin. We called various hotels after midnight and none were able to answer our questions as quickly and precisely as we wanted. Until... we called Staybridge suites. The front desk worker, Diego, diligently answered our questions with the utmost compassion, dignity and fortitude to make sure we were getting our money's worth. After arriving to the hotel the next day, we absolutely loved our hotel suite. We felt like we were in New York and had some butlers catering to us in our big ass room. Our hotel room view catered to a couple remaking 365 DNI at the pool. Free dryer service, and amazing front desk service as well, all thanks to señor Diego. The location was also conveniently located to all of Austin's hot spots. Only downsides to this hotel was the AC being above the beds which made the room feel like living in Antarctica and trash not being cleared out from one of the bins. However I won't take any stars off for that since we loved our stay there, especially the clear and evident representation of Oasis's and Volente's at Staybridge Suites. Avoid. Management sucks, if you complain about something than they will make sure your stay is not good. I was moving hence used this hotel, did t had time to switch as room were good and had what we needed. Few of staff members were good but they need to train their managers in hospitality. They increased my rate though had understanding rate will not change but sales director who I dealt with had left and one of manager said that either pay more or leave. They will skip room cleaning and when complained, they will say that u had DND or they forgot, but u never forget to charge customer. Hotel is good if u do t have to deal with management but u can't avoid. Better just avoid this property. read more

The hotel has a nice patio with grills and a smoking areas with a table for those who smoke. The workout space is normal size for a hotel and appeared to be very clean as well. After our last hotel kicked us out at ten pm because we complained about the disgusting conditions of our room, we were desperate for a CLEAN place to stay. We got a great deal since it was so late and the staff was AMAZING. She made sure we had a nice room and even assisted us in locating the hotel when our gps failed. although the rooms were nice and clean and the breakfast was good .. i had yet another terrible experience at a hotel . with this one , they charged me and unnecessary 93 dollar charge other than the 20 dollar incidental charge.. when i spoke to the first girl at the front she told me i would be getting the money back in my account on a certain day which did not happen . second girl i talked to at the front desk took my info and supposedly talked to her manager .. still heard nothing .. then when i checked out today i found out they actually added another night on my card that WAS not supposed to happen and instead of me getting my money back credited to my account like i was told . u have to wait an additional 3-5 days . i don't know why their staff cannot get it together but they definitely need to all be on the same page and not tell customers several different answers . on top of that they charged my card the fee for my nights stay BEFORE i even stepped foot in the hotel and their excuse was that they had a " new girl " . this is truly frustrating when people play with my money and can't tell me an accurate answer . read more

I was really impressed with Staybridge Suites. We enjoyed the social mixers and breakfast (food and drinks weren't mind blowing, but it was convenient and a decent meal) and the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The only downsides were the broken elevator (it failed with my coworkers inside and became very hot and stuffy quickly), lack of hot tub with the pool, and noise level. The pool area was outside my room and the dining area was right below so it got pretty loud. The receptionist offered to move me to a different room but I chose to stick it out. On the plus side the hotel is conveniently located near freeway and easy to find. Not clean. They provide breakfast but tables are not cleaned throughout the serving hours. Found one coffee table in eating area that was too dirty to use on Saturday and still not cleaned by Monday morning. Carpet in the room on the first floor was unattended to near walls, ie. not vacuumed. There was a large tear in room carpeting as well. Day clerk not helpful in resolving concerns. read more

My husband has been staying here for a few weeks (work related) We are just visiting !!!! I love it and my son enjoyed the pool. I would definitely had given this place a five star rating, but I would work on the cleaning/house keeping Department I had several issues. Over all this place is great. The staff/team were great!!!! As to the management team : they need improvement making staff and guest welcome. I saw the manager on numerous times and never did he smile or say hello or ask us how was everything. I tried to reserve a room for use by the State of Texas, tax exempt, and was told rudely that taxes could not be refunded because the deposit was non refundable. When I informed the representative that I had not yet finalized booking I was told that I could not use a tax exempt form, that I was already receiving a discount by booking a week in advance and that I would have to pay taxes. Extremely shady and rude support, now I only hope I can remember all the names this chain goes by so that I can avoid them in the future. read more
