Normally, I love to support small businesses, and I refer them to everybody because word-of-mouth is the best way to promote business. I have used this business before and it went smoothly, but this time was different. The price increased as well as the ratio and timeframe which wasn't a problem, but in the end was as surprise. The first time I used this company it was $280 for 3 hours and this time it was $350 for 2 hours which they spent most of the time at the first house asking me questions when I tagged all the furniture that needed to go. I even helped them move my own furniture and he said they normally don't do that because if there's damage, they won't know who's responsible--- to which I said it was me because that was obviously loud. We do a walk-through and discuss the different types of furniture and one piece in particular that I have is like an armoire, but on a spinning axle. This mirror is about 150 pounds and the base of it obviously spins when you carry it. I explained to the owner to be careful with the item because when carrying it you have to support the bottom and the main piece simultaneously. We get everything to my new house and it's fine but that's when he tells me of the price/hourly difference and I'm hit with another unexpected $350. I'm obviously in the middle of moving so it takes me a couple hours to send the rest of the money, but he's not shy to text me and tell me not to forget about them. My mistake here was, the following day I went to check the furniture and the spinning mirror/armoire was still wrapped and so when I go to unwrap it, I think I'm just going to spin and unwrap it. Then I come to find out that it's broken and it's rocking, leaning to one side. I proceeded to text the owner to let him know that they broke my furniture and was very respectful about it. He then proceeds to gaslight & mansplain me, dance around the idea that it was any fault of his to avoid accountability, named all of the extra benefits that he gave me to justify my broken furniture--- when I didn't ask for any of that ---that was on him and I was also unaware because I don't work here. All I wanted from him was some accountability and apology and then maybe we can talk about how to get my furniture fixed because replacing it would be another $500-$1000 which he tried to tell me that with his services and the $50 he offered me, was more than what my furniture would cost brand new. So he's telling me that he's worth $1000 but I'm only worth 50. It was really the audacity for me and the poor business practices that I cannot get 'down' with. If you're going to own a business, you have to first be able to take accountability and rectify whatever you did with your clientele. If you can't do that, you won't be able to retain any customers because you behave greedily and unethically. When I posted to social media about it, I got a few people saying that they used this person and this is a normal practice for them. Apparently they always offer $50 for inconveniences and it's not an inconvenience. It's broken furniture and furniture is not cheap. Previously, I recommended them to everybody, but this is the end of the road. Use them at your own peril. And I only gave them two stars because his employees were nice and respectful. read more

I did not use their service but . One evening around 7 pm alarms start going off dogs all barking. I open front door I find this person right at my door step . And he is just posting this business flyers all over the property. When I ask him to please leave the property his response was what happened to you , are u ok . I'm like no there is a stranger on my property without my permission. If they can't respect someone property I don't know how to trust them with any business. Hand down the BEST moving experience I've ever had. I was referred to this company by a friend after I asked for referrals on social media. I work 2 jobs 7-days a week. I was less than organized nor was I prepared for my landlord selling my unit last minute, post-pandemic. I just decided to roll the dice and take a chance on her recommendation. Result: StayDown savored and respected every morsel of time I paid for. They were incredibly hard working and reasonably priced. The movers, David and Trynell, we're not only incredibly hard-working and professional, they were warm and friendly too. They turned this daunting chore into an absolute pleasure. We had a great time. I wasn't exactly prepared (2 jobs remember?) and I kind of swallowed the fact I would have to pack/move many things after I had StayDown's help. The movers encouraged me to keep pushing! He said "we have to move this all to the truck, if you can get it packed I'm the mean time, we'll move it- we have space, we can make it work" Sometimes, as capable and motivated as you may be, a little support/encouragement goes a long way. He even helped fix my bed frame to be more secure than it was when he found it. THE SERVICE IS ABOVE AND BEYOND! Mark and his team were the best! Mark was extremely responsive both via text and phone call answered all of my questions. I was able to use them for their packing services. They provide the option to purchase a packing supplies in addition to using the supplies we currently had. Special acknowledgment to Joseph for his help I was extremely overwhelmed and he communicated his plan on how to pack everything and took care of the rest with his counter part. I found this company from a Facebook page and saw the 3 reviews they had. They were very responsive and I gave the same deal as other movers (except 10% discount for military from other movers). The day of the move they were good about communicating when they would arrive. The two guys moving our things were very nice and that's the reason for the 2 stars. The unfortunate part was that our purple mattress had stains and tears (it looks like it got dragged on the ground). The couch they moved has paint from being forced through the door (we also have paint chips on the floor by the door and there are damages to the door frame). Our chest drawers have scuffs and marks that weren't there before. Highly disappointed that we paid for the service to move our things thinking they would be careful with our belongings. Please do not use this company, maybe it was just one bad experience but I would not be using them again. I highly recommend using other companies out there that have MORE reviews. The guys that did our moves were extremely nice, but it doesn't change the fact that our items were damaged and they saw that it was and nothing was done about it. The positives first would be great response time and flexibility when scheduling a move. This was all done via text message, so easy and convenient. The two movers showed up on time the day of the move. They only had one dolly to move items and we provided an additional dolly for them to use to speed up the process (still slow). They were only moving a small studio apartment and it took them over 3 hours. They were moving very slowly. I have more hustle in me and I'm older with several old injuries. We watched as they took their sweet time and we were told we had to remain out of the way and couldn't help. They claim this is to determine who is to hold blame if something is broken. No it's so they can charge you more. They broke two planters that ended up killing the plants. The nicer mover (forgot his name) let us know when it happen, so that was appreciated. Soon as my mom said something then all the sudden they moved much quicker, but by that time we were already going over time. The other not so friendly mover Joseph actually stopped to come and complain about how heavy the bed frame was. The nerve as it was the ONLY heavy item there. He was on his phone holding business and personal conversations several times throughout the move. Boxes were labeled and they still placed boxes upside down and didn't look at the labels. Joseph by the end had an attitude and yet we still tipped them both $15 each. We had planned to do $25 each, but the rudeness and delayed time increasing the amount changed that. We also were going to give them basically a brand new AC, but changed our mind about that as well. Once I expressed concern and asked that .25 hours be credited it was, so that was also appreciated and the only reason a 3 star rating is being provided. We haven't gotten to open all items to ensure no items were broken, but I'll update here if anything is. What I found very odd is they have you sign a waiver at the end of your move releasing them of almost any responsibility of broken/damaged items. I will not be recommending them to move anyone I know and wouldn't have them move me in the future either. They blamed the elevators were at fault, but we could have assisted with that had they voiced that early on. read more
