I came across Kree's Yelp page because of how close she was, but what really stood out was her website--the caliber and vibrancy of her photos were incredible. I knew right away she'd be a perfect fit for capturing my niece, both in her cap and gown and in her super colorful prom dress (which I was confident Kree could do justice!). From the moment I reached out, Kree was super responsive and easy to communicate with. The contract was simple and straightforward, pricing was fair and the breakdown of her packages were awesome. and she helped us agree on a time and location that worked perfectly, not far from our house either, which was a huge plus. On the day of the shoot, Kree arrived right on time and immediately made my niece feel comfortable. Since it was my niece's first time being professionally photographed, I appreciated how Kree guided her with poses and gave her direction to bring out her best angles. She was friendly, patient, and made the whole experience fun. We received the edited photos about two weeks later, and they were amazing, better than I could have imagined. Kree truly captured my niece's personality and the significance of the moment. First, I want to say that Melissa is very kind and makes the experience comfortable, even if you're…read morenervous or shy in front of the camera. She's warm, welcoming, and easy to work with. I received around 80 edited proofs to choose from, and there were plenty of great options for my final selections. She also offers a wardrobe with beautiful dresses, as well as some clothing options for men. The location suggestions she provided were excellent, and she did a great job capturing the style and vibe I had in mind. That said, I do feel the need to mention some concerns about professionalism and turnaround time. Her contract states that proofs will be delivered within 2-4 weeks. While 4 weeks already feels a bit long, I was patient and checked in about once a week for updates. When the 4-week mark passed without receiving anything, I was disappointed. I ended up receiving the proofs after 4 weeks and 3 days. I reviewed and returned my selections the same day, but her contract didn't specify a timeline for final edits, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The final images were delivered 15 days later. When I received them, it seemed like the only changes made were removing the watermarks. Some photos still had bags and other items in the background, even though she had mentioned those would be edited out. Communication was also inconsistent. There were times when my messages were read but not answered, and at one point--about two weeks after the shoot--she indicated she hadn't started editing yet. It left me feeling like my time and excitement weren't fully considered. By the time I received my maternity photos, my baby was already three weeks old, and I had already shared photos of her arrival, despite scheduling the shoot at 34 weeks as recommended. Would I recommend Melissa? Yes, but with some expectations in mind. Her pricing is fair, and you do receive a large number of photos. However, turnaround time may be slower than expected, and communication can feel a bit casual at times. (She did provide 5 additional images to make up for the delay in delivering the proofs.) I had originally intended to do a new born shoot with her as well but I was waiting for my maternity photos to make sure I really liked them and unfortunately by the time I received them my baby was outside the 7-14 day old window she wants for newborns. Between that and the turn around time I decided against it.

After coming across their photos when researching different potential photographers that had experience at our venue, we were very interested in meeting them. We had an initial video call with them and knew immediately that we wanted to book them for such a critical part of our wedding journey. There aren't enough words to describe how skilled and professional they are--they are amazing photographers (individually and as a duo) and clearly love what they do. Our proposal photoshoot was the only prior experience we had in terms of taking professional photos as a couple. We met them in person for the first time at our engagement photoshoot--they immediately made us feel comfortable and were seriously thoughtful about the entire process, whether it was the location choices, minute-by-minute weather changes/forecast, outfit changes, etc. It really feels like they plan for everything and care about the little details. When we asked them about another vendor they would potentially work with on the day of our wedding, they even referenced notes they made when they had worked with them for a prior wedding. Throughout the whole process, they were prompt communicators (frequently responding to an email within minutes!) and guided us with experience and patience that we really appreciated. Whenever we had something to discuss with them (including choices we needed to make as a couple), they never hesitated to give us suggestions and feedback. Even if they offered an alternative suggestion to an idea of ours, it always felt like they genuinely cared and they wanted what we wanted, and it never felt like criticism. We received our wedding photos just about 2 months after our wedding, and we love every single one of them (all 667)! They are truly the best photographers to work with and just lovely people to be around. We definitely plan to keep in touch with them for future photoshoots! :) TL;DR: You should have booked A Tale Ahead Photography yesterday!!
