I received some news about my health (diabetes complications) so I decided I wanted to get one more tattoo, before getting a tattoo was no longer an option. I started my search & found Stay on Point Tattoo. After using Yelp & Google, I found Stay on Point's instagram page. Being impressed with what I saw I called to set up a consultation. I called on a Saturday & my consultation was scheduled on Sunday. Consultation: On Sunday I arrived at the shop & was immediately greeted by Dboi, he introduced hisself and I showed him a picture of what I wanted and explained my diabetic status. Dboi asked important questions about my health before discussing the tattoo it self, which put me at ease because it showed he cared about my health and the possible healing effects. Now on to the tattoo, upon viewing the tattoo we discussed size, color, location, tattoo detailing, & of course price. Dboi charges $150 per hour which is a reasonable price. He told up front with the size & details of the tattoo it would cost me close to $450 because it would take about 3 hours to complete. I explained my budget was for $300 & we discussed ways to lower the cost to fit my budget. We kept the tattoo at the same size but removed some of the detailing. We worked together to come up with some we would both be satisfied with. An appointment dated for the following Friday (4/7) was set and a deposit of $50 was done. On Wednesday before the tattoo appointment I received an email from Dboi with a sketch of my tattoo for my approval (this was a first for me), I have impressed with both Dboi's professionalism & the sketch of the tattoo. I immediately loved what I saw and responded back adding one little detail. Dboi emailed me back and ensured me the detail I wanted added would be on the stencil by the time I arrived. Tattoo Day: I arrived 15 minutes early and Dboi and his staff immediately greeted. Dboi had just finished a tattoo and was cleaning up and setting up for my session. While waiting I was asked to filled out a tattoo consent form. At exactly 7pm which was my appointment time Dboi called over and we begin placement of the tattoo. We beginning the tattoo and Dboi asked me a few times if I needed to take a break or if I was okay. We were both impressed with each. Dboi was impressed with my pain tolerance and how I seat their carrying on a convo like I wasn't getting a tattoo & I was impressed with his professionalism and his work. Dboi pays attention to details. 2 1/2 hours later I was done and completely satisfied with my tattoo. Dboi also recommended a after tattoo cream called Hustle Butter. It's an all natural product and smell so good. Overall I was completely satisfied with the entire process from beginning to end. I will definitely be sending my friends and family to Dboi at Stay on Point Tattoo. This tattoo was my last hoorah so it was a little emotional for me but should my slim chance I can squeeze in another tattoo. There will be no question where I'll be getting my tattoo done.

I went for a Friday 13th special and was tattooed by Deanna. Love the tattoo and the whole experience. The girls were friendly and everything get clean and safe. The shop is small but the vibe is great, super chill. I would go back to Deanna!

This place is a gem. I had an excellent experience with Ana! I asked for "I suffered. I learned. I changed" in Arabic and I came along with a photo reference. It didn't even take a long time and it came out better than I expected. I love the customer service from the main desk and everyone kept asking me if I was enjoying the experience and if I was ok. Definitely will be coming back for more tattoos in the near future.

Where do I begin? This place is amazing, from the customer service, to the artist, to the shop, the team, the music and the vibes. The dynamic that the place had was incredible and how it should be. I got my free consultation done on Friday 01/25/19, I was assigned to an artist named Ana. We spoke during the week, she came out with few sketches and then we decided on the final draft together. I got my tattoo done a week later on Friday 02/01/19, the team was very supportive being the fact that I was getting my tattoo done on my right ribs (ouch I know). I was given a soft drink, a choice of music genre and a good laugh. Ana started and she did the outline, shading and coloring. She gave me breaks in between, her and the team was asking if I was okay and I took like it like a champ. Once, I was done they told me to relax and gave me some water. I paid and was set to come back for a touch up once my tattoo heals. All in all I am happy with my tattoo, I procrastinated on getting it for a long time being the fact it was dedicated to my parents. I didn't know what I wanted and I was avoiding the pain. Now, I finally got it done and I am proud of myself that I was able to endure the pain without a flinch or a sound. I already have 3 tattoos, however, if I ever wanted to go for some more definitely will come back to this place. Please note: The price ranges differently depending on what you're getting. Therefore, If you're considering this place and/or specific artist just make an appointment and go for a consultation. You won't be disappointed.

This place is great. I went in at my appointment time, got set up quickly and everyone here is professional and cool as hell. The place is clean, has great artistic decor, and the music is dope. I had my tattoo on a Sunday afternoon, and witnessed people coming in for piercings and getting great service. Ana is awesome, she did lovely work on my first tattoo. I'd come back here without hesitation for my future tattoos. My girl also was very happy with her own tattoo and was similarly impressed by the place saying "I've been to a lot of tattoo shops, like a lot, and that place is NICE."

I want to preface my review by saying that Ana, my artist, was very responsive, very professional and open to any touch-up's free of charge and provided all the necessary material to help the tattoo heal. I was happy for all of the above and would rate that as outstanding. However I will let the work speak for itself as you can see it's blown out texture. It would be fair to say that this was the result of inexperience and I will need to retouch this up. But needless to say that I rather touch it up somewhere else.

Liked the set up & look of the shop outside. Decided to go in... spoke to the owner Dboy about a next tattoo for me and my fiancé. He recommended a artist who was set to appear and tattoo from Texas handle the work for me. I left a small deposit and had him set everything up. About a week later everything worked out as expected and both me and my fiancé received Tattoo's we were very happy with. On the other hand a big issue I had was after the charge came through on my card it was Tripple the price. Dboy over charged me 3x.. for a $600 tattoo I paid $1,800. This tattoo only took 1& 1/2 hours to complete. I never checked the charges or received a receipt and was only able to find out when I checked my email from chase that I was over charged. Later then next day my fiancé told me that after I left and she stayed and got her tattoo Dboy who looks like a wana be gangster who was scared straight attempted to get her to go home with him for a large portion on the time she spent getting tattooed. I found this to be unprofessional and between that and overcharging me this resulting in me and my fiancé having an unsatisfactory experience. In the end we did like our work but not the experience. We will be getting tatted at body Language Tattoo from now on which is also in Astoria.

My friend and I decided to get tatted, yelped shops in the area, and came across this one. We both had a wonderful experience! We got piercings first (I got second holes on both ears and she got third holes on both ears) - the piercer, Alan, was very sanitary and made the process as painless as possible. He did a great job. We also both got tattoos, and both loved the outcome. Rob was very professional, and his lines were incredibly clean - he gave me just what I wanted! Thanks to Alan, Rob, and Kim for making us feel so comfortable, giving us the best service and results, and for being so kind. We will both definitely be coming back for future work. Thanks!
