Been going to this location for years, as I live nearby. Over the years food has went downhill. Not a big fan of the food anymore. Just doesn't taste good, not well seasoned, takes a while to make at times and when ordering a sandwich w/ bacon and when it comes w/ what looks like not even a whole slice you get turned off.. We don't eat here much anymore but the Milkshake happy hour is still appealing. Mon-Fri Milkshakes are 1/2 off between 2-5pm. Great deal and so far Milkshakes are always delicious. Waited 45 mins for our dine in order. Everyone who ordered after us got their food. Went up twice to tell them we didnt get our order. Finally asking for a refund only for the manager to be rude and give us half a refund. Then she wasnt able to pull our order again due to it being "voided"! Terrible service . I took a picture to show we were the only ones in here and we ordered 2 shakes. Q snickers and 1 chocolate. It took exactly 21 minutes to get our shakes and those 21 minutes, we watched 1 associate who talked to the other associate behind the counter, and he just walked outside and the other walked a circle around with a jug of sweet tea in her hand. By the time I noticed, because we were in a great conversation, I noticed the receipt said 8:27 pm. I stood up to go ask and saw they had 2 shakes sitting by the counter near the drive thru counter. The girl turned and had her purple iPhone pushed up to her ear with her shoulder being busy with her convo, rather than serving our shakes. Signs say that they're open until 11:00. Got there at 10:47. Car in front of me was never waited on. I sat for 10 minutes and they never even acknowledged my presence. There was a car behind me and another car pulling in. In 15 minutes, they pissed off 4 customers. I pulled around and there was no one to be seen at all. Made my first online order today and double checked the website to see if I could pickup in the drive thru or if I needed to go inside. nothing on the website tells you to go inside, so I try to pickup my order through the drive thru. The female on the headset, quite rudely tells me I have to come inside. like okay, I didn't know this? so I walk in, she's at the grill and doesn't even acknowledge me when I walk in and stand at the counter. Mind you the place has 0 customers and 1 order was placed before me in the drive thru. A man wearing a dirty flannel comes out and starts prepping food, doesnt say a word. he then comes to the soda machine that I'm standing next to and STILL SAYS NOTHING. i placed my order at 11 for an 11:30 pickup, stood inside the FREEZING dining area, when it's 40 degrees outside, and still waited almost 10 minutes for my order. The male gave me my bag and I let him know how rude the female was when I went to the drive thru to get my order, explained that I've never ordered online and the website says NOTHING about coming inside to pickup. He said, I heard her.... and you expect someone to just accept the fact that you're extremely rude and to not say something?! I've worked in the service industry for 20+ years and you NEVER ignore a customer. regardless of the day you're having or how many employees you have working. I don't know what's with all the bad reviews for this place, our server Grace was super friendly and our food was out within five minutes - literally five minutes!! Was surprised when she put the food down that it was actually ours because it was done so quickly. We got the new garlic double steak burger with fries & the royale burger with fries. Everything was tasty and what we ordered. We went on a Friday night and the place was slammed and they still are moving right through tables. We went today. Looked like maybe it was closed, but, no! Drive thru was working and dining room was open. We had a little trouble getting our gift card to be taken, but the manager got that fixed fine. Menu isn't quite as extensive as once it was, probably reflecting corporate financial problems in the news recently. There was a local computer glitch. Our order never got posted to the grille. We waited half an hour. I finally went over to the manager and a gent who appeared to be perhaps the franchisee. *Immediately* they jumped to the problem. Our lunch was to us in only 5 minutes, at most, later. It was perfect. The franchisee came over to apologize personally and fully comped the meal. If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst customer service ever. Fries were ice cold and when I asked for new ones the funky A$$ drive thru worker had the AUDACITY to cop an entire attitude. Like I put her out! What kind of nonsense...keep it cute or keep it mute. It was the nasty attitude for me. After traveling 8 hours I just wanted to get food for my family and call it a night. This happened to be close and right across the street from the hotel we were staying at. Assuming that's how they survive. Food was 2/10. My daughter said the milkshake was good. Husband ordered the garlic burger - perhaps they were out of the bun, garlic salt, and sauce...it was slapped together and did not slap. I got the chicken strips. Honey mustard sauce was decent. A month ago we hoped to meet for lunch at the Georgesville Steak N Shake, but their sign said air conditioner out, they were closed to dine in. We tried again this weekend, and now they were open, but the air conditioning had just never been fixed. It was really hot and stuffy. We were told to order at the kiosks at the front. There was literally no service other than being called to the front to pick up your food. I gave them one star because the food was as good as it's ever been, so that was a saving grace. However, not only was the air stifling, everything was sticky! The chairs, the tables, the floor; except the floor in front of the beverages, where I almost slipped because there the floor was wet. Even the door handles on the way out were sticky. So sorry they've gone so downhill. This used to be a favorite place for our family to eat. read more

Was at Steak n Shake this past Monday evening 10-14-19 at about 7pm. After walking into the hostess area you were hit with an odor of spoiled milk, but went ahead and was seated. There was maybe 6 tables of customers. After awhile waitress asked what we wanted to drink and after awhile came back with drinks. Placed our order. Noticed there were only 2 waitresses....there were several dirty tables so besides trying to wait on people also had to try to clean up tables. Instead of using cart for dirty dishes 1 waitress had arm full of dirty dishes and dropped some she was about 6 to 8 feet away but several pieces of broken plates hit my legs. Finally got food and waitress took off we still had no silverware, spent the next 10 minutes trying g to get her attention to get some finally got her attention, she asked did we need something, yes some silverware little hard to eat chili cheese fries without. She brought back 2 forks, asked if there was a shortage of silverware she said that's all they are giving out. Dont know what you do if you need to cut something? She never came back to check how things were or if we needed refills on our drinks which we did. Just finished our meals paid and left. Very bad on my last visit to the point that I really don't think we will go back. We went inside to place a take out order. We sat and sat at counter and then a girl asked the guy is she could take our order for him. She took our order and away she went. A few minutes later the guy came and rang of our order and we paid so far not so bad right???? 20 -25 minutes later the manager sees me looking around and comes to ask if we were waiting on food then he walked to the back to find out they made it and it was just chillaxing on the counter in the back. However I had the absolute worst service at this location than I have ever experienced at any other location before. We stood there for like 10 minutes before they even acknowledged us and when they did it was in a rude tone. When someone finally did speak to us they said they were only doing carryout which I was a little annoyed about but didn't really care as long as I got the food. What really broke the camels back for me is that when she did finally speak to us she didn't even take out the time to take our order, and they weren't even that busy. She didnt even bother to give us a menu to look at either. After experiencing this kind of behavior from them that clearly indicated that they didnt want us there I left. I ordered burgers with everything but onion, and they all got sent to me with nothing BUT onion. When I called and asked about it, they said "i know what you ordered I took it myself and you ordered them all plain." This place is disgusting. From the dirty tables, floors , bathrooms, to the unkempt servers. All smelling like cigarettes and regret. A few days ago we went there. For whatever reason my 7 year old LOVES steak n shake. When we have the opportunity to go out to dinner this is often our choice. Because it's cheap, quick and they offer alot of coupons. We have NEVER had a good experience or service and the food is never good. But you get what you pay for. Anyways.. back to my last visit. We walk in. Every single table is littered with food, and dirty plates. There were maybe 2 tables occupied with guests. We are ignored for 10 minutes, finially some girl comes over to let us know all the tables are dirty (yeah. Thanks. I am not blind), she cleans one off, seats us. 20 mins later another girl comes to get our order by stating "what do you want" we had not even ordered our drinks yet. Then she disappeared. Like gone with the wind. We didn't see her the rest of our visit. So finially I track down manager Gail who is clearly ticked off about how her restaurant was being ran. She brought us drinks. Still no sign of our waitress. Gail is serving tables, and cooking food, and helping customers. On top of crying in the middle of the dining room. It was a mess. Needless to say. We've had our share of bad experiences at this chain, but today was a pleasant exception. Restaurant was clean, we were seated promptly and service was fast and food was tasty. Our server Herbert seemed to be responsible for the entire dining room but he was fast, friendly and efficient and attentive with refills.
