I'm back for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. The service was great this morning, but it also held to come on a Tuesday morning. Not a lot of people here. I peered the mother special. 2 eggs, 2 sausages and 3 pancakes. I had blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup. We did not have to wait long at all. We prefer Cracker Barrel over Ihop because IHOP place is always cold. Last few times we had to keep our jackets on. But Cracker Barrel has the fire place on all the time. Plus it's more cozy. This visit was a complete failure on the part of Cracker Barrel. When we walked in the establishment, the AC was cranked and it was cold. We were sat at a table and did not see a waitress for 10 minutes. She eventually took our order where me wife asked her to bring some biscuits out before the entrees. 30 minutes later the waitress came out to tell us that my entree was not available because the grilled chicken was still frozen and they only have one grill cook. (This while people who arrived after us were enjoying their meals!) Ten minutes later our food arrived and my order was wrong and my wife's food was luke warm. (And our biscuits finally arrived!) At this point, we got up and left. We never saw a manager and this young lady should not be a waitress. We have never been this disappointed at a Cracker Barrel and the meals are pricey enough to expect decent service. read more

Cracker Barrel is what it is, and what it is to me during road trips is a place to stop to use the restroom. You can pretty much always expect that the restrooms are relatively clean. The restroom at this Cracker Barrel was fine. It could have used a good scrub down, but it served its purpose. Did you know: Cracker Barrel is also a restaurant! And it's also a gift shop! We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we did buy some peppermint sticks for the road (they have lots of ye olde fashioned candy here). We also played some checkers, of which there are boards to play inside the gift shop and outside on their porch. The people who work at Cracker Barrel restaurants are always so pleasant. That's the case with this one, too. They cheerfully greeted us when we arrived and bade us farewell on our way out. read more

Everything started out pretty nice. Our waitress was very nice, Our appetizer arrived and then we ordered our main course: I ordered the campfire chicken and my husband ordered the campfire beef. We waited...and waited. We noticed how the other customers were waiting also, maybe one or two had an order of fries. We we were then told that the kitchen was short staffed. We continued to wait and im sure that it was most likely an hour later with still no food. Our waitress did update us on our food. And then finally she tells me that if I still wanted the campfire chicken it would be another 5 to 10 minutes. I told her to just bring me a campfire beef instead. The food came and it was horrible. My meat looked burnt, my husband had cherry tomatoes and I didn't. The food was disappointing. Our waitress told us that the manager would comp our meal. I was ready to leave afterwards. read more

We ordered takeout tonight. I love the sides and the desserts. I ordered the potato casserole which once was a must have. Now its a very dry tasteless no thank you. The baked apples were fabulous as always. The dumplings were terrible. Thick, gummy and the only taste to them was flour. But the WORST part of the entire experience. I ordered 2 pieces of carrot cake. Check out the picture and ask yourself...where is the quality control? And no, they didn't charge me half price for one of these. Stopped on our way through Ohio. Sunday at 11am so knew it would be busy. Put our name in and told 15-20 minute wait. More than 40 minutes later we were seated. I wanna start with saying I am a vegetarian that absolutely loved the biscuits and gravy up until two days ago. I have asked time and time again is there any animal anything In your gravy and each time I was told oh no there isn't anything pertaining to any animal contaminate in it. I was bummed to see this Cracker Barrel only has 3 starts but despite it I've gone and tried it myself. My experience could not have been any different than those with poor experiences. As for the restaurant itself, it's your classic Cracker Barrel in every way including being very clean and busy. The staff was so friendly, like recognizably more friendly than many other places which makes you feel so welcome. I did a take out order but from what I experienced, the restaurant and staff was wonderful. As for the food - when I tell you I annihilated my food, I don't think I took a breath while eating it was so delicious. I tried the chicken n dumplings after it was recommended and it was delicious. The chicken was so tender, the dumplings were perfect, and it was pretty much homemade comfort on a plate. I also HIGHLY recommend fried okra as a side if you haven't tried before. We enjoy Cracker Barrel food and eat breakfast there often when traveling. I was happy to see that eggs in the basket was brought back and found it to be consistently prepared and presented no matter which location we visited. Until today. The Hilliard OH location had their own special take on the dish, and it wasn't pretty or tasty, nor did it resemble any eggs in a basket that i have ever seen. No holes. No basket with eggs peeking through. Instead, I got, rubbery, overcooked eggs thrown onto two soggy pieces of toast covered with pallid tomato slices which were smeared with mayo. If the kitchen doesn't know how to prepare a dish, they should just fess up. My husband's blueberry pancakes were decent as always. I didn't want to make a fuss since we were on the road and needed to move on. Our server didn't ask how our meals were and made herself scarce. I am attaching a photo of my plate. It was a disappointment. We waited 1 hour for our food after we placed our order. There excuse was the ticket must have got lost and blamed it on their computer system. Meanwhile everyone else in the place got their food on time. As we were waiting we were informed they close at 9 pm. We got our food at 8 pm. The manager said it was a glitch in the system and waitress claimed she was in constant contact with the kitchen and yet our fish meals took 1 hour to make and deliver. Judging from all the stuff on sale In the store, they are running into financial troubles. No wonder service was so bad. If zero stars we're a things that what this place deserves. We were a party of 13 . Sat down they took our order 1/4 of the party got their order and it was 1 hour and 30 minutes and the rest of the party didn't get anything. There was a party of 10 that came way after our order was taken and then received their order before ours . All they kept saying was "it's coming" . The servers were great but from the kitchen to the management is TERRIBLE. Not the first time having a terrible experience here . Safe to say we will NEVER come back . I really enjoy Cracker Barrel. For some reason, I was craving CB earlier this week. After leaving the airport, I went directly to CB. I was greeted by a person without a smile and a low voice. I didn't even understand his greeting he spoke so low, and there was no one else around us. I think it's important for restaurants to put someone up front who is cheerful and welcoming. The service was excellent. I even left extra tip, since she let me stay a while on my laptop after finishing my meal. She was very nice. The food was really good. I like the cornbread. I loved the string beans. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes. I did not like the pinto beans, though. I don't eat meat, and I think they had pork chunks. I still had enough to eat, though. read more

Cracker Barrel rarely disappoints. The food is consistently good and service quick and friendly. I usually come here for breakfast before running weekend errors and get some version of the Old Timers Breakfast. If I do get dinner I make sure to save room for the chocolate Coca Cola cake. The walls are covered old timely country store signs, tools and portraits. I wonder where they get all of it especially the photos. I was immediately intrigued by the featured item which was the French Toast and Chicken meal. I added a side of hashbrown casserole and a slice of their famous Double Chocolate Coca-Cola cake. The french toast had a crispy exterior with a soft and sweet interior. The chicken was fried to perfection which made for a perfect pairing with the french toast. First only half of our table received their food, and all of it was wrong. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes for the rest of the tables food with no silverware. The steak was raw and the eggs were hard, and the toast burned. The manager had come over, and he literally didn't even care. The waitress seemed to understand and said we didn't have to pay. I am giving this 3 stars because the staff are so so nice. They greet you when you walk in, they ask if you want to buy any extra stuff. The ambiance is well its a Cracker Barrell. The fire place is great. While the food is hit or miss depending on your taste and preferences. However, this location never has the southern fried chicken. Major fail - that is why we went. Multiple times. Fix your fryer, shaker, ordering, whatever - just get the chicken back or put a sign up that says it's unavailable. Also, you can't get the chops except for Saturday now. read more

This place is a staple to my childhood. Right off the freeway with huge parking. They have the cutest gift shop to walk through while you wait for a table because it's usually packed and busy! They have cool bottled sodas and different candy you don't see everywhere. The place is decked out in old school signs, tools, sports gear- the vibes are immaculate every single time. We started with the country fried pickles and they were delicious! I had a Bloody Mary and my husband had the new spiked strawberry lemonade, his drink was the best! My husband got the Cheesy Bacon Homestyle Chicken and holy COW, it was AMAZING!!!!! Had and amazing experience with one of the waiters in this restaurant Tyquan d was very great super helpful and a very kind soul we had a bad experience on the way to this location with our car and when I say kindness and generosity flows through him and he deserves a raise for the way he presented himself and the restaurant itself when we usually come in after we eat the have an apple dumpling dessert that is to die for but they no longer serve this item so Tyquan told us about a new lemon's strawberry dessert we tried it and it was so good after all of that and relating about the dessert and his experiences, he offered to pay for our dessert and said it was on him. Wow I love the Cracker Barrel. This time, a total opposite of what I am used too. Zeke needs a complete retraining. This was possibly the worst service I have ever had. The other girls were busting their bottoms, and attending the customers. Cleaning tables an what not. Zeke was busy cleaning the kitchen. Let's get down to it. Greeted timely and with a smile. Seated immediately. Drink order taken quickly. Now let's really slooooow things down. Finally remembered he had a customer. Took our order. A little while later my salad came out. Normally I like to eat my food with silverware. So after about 5 minutes or so I had to ask one of the other severs for it. She was nice enough to bring it out. Shortly after here come the hot food. The grilled chicken fingers were moist, and hot. I have no idea what was wrong with the hash brown casserole. Asked him to exchange it, and he informed us that's all they had, and did offer to change it out for another side. Ali asking what's wrong it's it. It was so bad it was hard to describe. After having to use GPS to find it, I was glad to get seated quickly. Maybe slow because hard to find, curious minds want to know?? Service was the normal top notch, server with trainee kept me in diet coke and didn't even want to see driver's license to prove its is my birthday. Trouble was the food surprising. Pancake was much smaller than those I am use to getting. Not as brown like it was not brown in many places. Worried that maybe made like Bob Evans, but not. Bob Evans' pancakes are almost crime on humanity to me. Coke Cola Cake was little dry and fell apart when I was putting most of it into a to go box. Bacon was good and so was hash brown casserole. Store was still full of plenty of stuff to get you to spend money. Got my favorite maple sugar candy. Had not been to CB since last summer. EBS and I used to meet here for our mid week date. He loved the place and usually had to decide between breakfast or dinner stuff because he loved both. He could have gotten a free dessert also. His birthday was also today.
