Chili was water down. Very slow service. Messed up our order and was cold. I would recommend any place over this.

Servers are rude, inconciderate. Foul language and talking about porn, managers don't care what they talk say and stuck up for them. Only way to get good service is to sit in Dianes section. read more

Well if you are on the road and need food, I guess this is a place. Grilled cheese was tasty and the fries are fun to eat b/c they are teeny tiny. Of the whole menu I think it is funny we had neither a steak or shake....Rather grilled chicken and a grilled cheese...Go US! read more

Food was decent but fast for as big of an order as we had. We got back to our hotel and realized that we were missing a garlic sandwich. Went back and received the worst service I've seen from a manager. Told us that she "made every burger" and wouldn't give us the sandwich we were missing. Then proceeded to give us a "combo" which consisted of a plain cheeseburger, some fries, and every condiment to make our own sandwich. Super unprofessional and disappointing, especially for a manager. We were being respectful, so there was no reason for the attitude or pettiness. read more

I noticed that the manager wasn't wearing food service gloves when preparing food. Also, it's my opinion that people who serve food shouldn't use their bare hands to handle food. read more

We're from out of town and stopped for lunch and a break from the car with our 2 year old and 6 month old.. maybe we looked frazzled or something, but we were so well taken care of while we were there - the staff was very attentive to our table's needs, filling drinks as we ran low, gave us a banana and didn't charge us for our toddler's meal, and an employee with extremely kind soul caught me in the middle of realizing we were out of wipes as I was trying to clean up the 6 months blow-out and she went to her car to grab me more! Seriously, who does that? Above and beyond. Then, after we made it back to the car, we decided we wanted a little ice cream. We went through the drive through and ordered two shakes and asked for an extra cup so I could split mine with our toddler. As we got up to the window the woman operating the window offered to split it for me so I didn't need to make a mess in our car... then went ahead and added a cherry & whipped cream to both! I know it sounds a little silly, but that was just the sweetest gesture after all they had already done for us. It was a great stop and we are so thankful to everyone that worked there today to make our long trip with two babies a lot better. :) read more

Really disappointed with Steak n Shake in Lincoln... MOST places give the bus driver a free meal for bringing in all the students & their parents... Not here... all you get is free crackers & water... guess their too busy with the cha ching of the register to see who brought those paying customers to your business... 1 more thing for the record... I will NOT bring anymore business to this place again... will find other business in the area that appreciate the bus drivers... cause we don't have to bring them to your place read more

The owner and/or manager of this restaurant should be ashamed. We stopped on our drive back north because we all enjoy Steak and Shake, normally. However, this place was absolutely disgusting. The tables and seats were dirty, the floors were filthy and covered with trash. Nearly all the wait and kitchen staff looked as if they had been on a 3-day bender; disheveled clothes, greasy hair, etc. I could go on and on, but the simple point is this place shameful. read more

Ridiculous customer service, we got stuck in some construction traffic and called several times to change the pick up time of our already paid for large order, phone rang over two minutes, then once it hit three minutes of ringing without an answer we just gave up and waited to see if there was anything they would do at the store, and guess what, they didn't do a thing, they said we should have called to let them know! Even showed them the screen shot with there stores phone number and how long it was ringing, even showed them the call history on phone. They say it doesn't prove anything. Um ok. Last time we will stop for food there! I intend to take this matter up with corporate, it's not about the food, it's about the terrible customer service! The rudeness is unnecessary and if you are a business and have a phone, I'm pretty sure someone should be able to answer the phone, maybe a supervisor or manager if all staff is occupied! read more

Seriously the worst Steak n Shake ive ever had and i gave them 2 seperate chances! Both times they got the order wrong and even incorrectly made the burger that ended up in my bag. The staff doesn't care about customer satisfaction and the manager hides when confronted. The food isn't even good or hot, if you can, AVOID this location! read more

They don't have a clue. Should have realized it was going to be a bad time when the three carry out orders in front of us were all messed up. On top of being horrifically slow and short changing us, they didn't say anything about running out of French's fried onions so on mine and my son's WESTERN BBQ 'N BACON STEAKBURGER they just loaded diced raw onion which my son won't touch so there was a waste of a burger and I had to sit and pick it all off mine because while I will eat it I hate raw onion. Manager running the register was incompetent and if he's the guy running the show I can only imagine the best and brightest working under him. Don't waste your money. read more

The hippest hangout in town. Not as dirty as everyone else claims. Wasn't top notch S&S but it got the job done.

Our burgers were tasty! The fries are fine. I prefer adult size fries compared to these matchsticks they serve. Having worked in restaurants when I was younger, (you know, back in the day! ). The manager kept his eye on the employees to make sure they were doing their duties & taking care of customers. When we were there it was towards the end of dinner rush & people were leaving. Which means dirty booths. A lot of them just sitting there. Finally, one gal came out and cleared a couple. She was quite a sight holding all those dishes & water cups. No one helped or offered to help her. There were 3-4 waitresses standing behind their half wall talking and talking, AND talking. The manager came out a couple times, but never said anything about cleaning off tables or working! It may be a burger joint but put more effort into your work. Yeah, you won't be there long but your work ethic will separate you from the others. And a side note ANYONE who carries a diaper bag should always have bags to place dirty diapers in! DONT throw them in the bathroom garbage for everyone to choke on. Thank you. why don't you know this? GO DUCKS!! We'd eat here again! read more

I'm took one star off because I ordered a chili dog and asked for nothing to be on it but chili. I got chili, cheese and a whole lot of onions, my other food was excellent. Very fast, hot and hubby ate the chili dog and loved it. If you're ordering take out I suggest you just check it to make sure it's right. read more

Ordered grilled chicken salad thru drive through. Got order no salad dressing, had ordered it. Tasted chicken too firm, not cooked enough. Took it back inside. Girl at check out took it to cooking area & said needs chicken cooked more. Girl at grill rolled her eyes, then walking toward me at counter (with another order) said I'm not pulling it off! If I had the option of choosing no stars I would have. There were two senior women sitting when we arrived. I was accompanied by my daughter, her husband and my 6 month old grandson. We waited 10 minutes for soup and salad. The soup was cold. 3 others sat down during this time and were served before we received our burgers. They also ordered burgers. There were two waitresses. Our waitress stood chatting with the original woman the entire time and an additional 10 minutes. When she finally left the table she brought out our food. Cold burgers. We came here because it would be quick and easy with a baby. So we thought. And the food is nothing to brag about. I can't even eat my burger. Disgusted and annoyed. Never again. read more

Wait staff were friendly, but in short supply. We waited to place our order, then waited again to pay. The food was good for the very cheap price, but the fries were overly salty. And, for those who aren't familiar with the chain (like me), there isn't a steak in the place. But you can get chicken. read more
