All things Canadian must mean good beer and poutine. Wonderful gravy, not too salty and full of flavor. The cheese curds of course are a byproduct of cheese making that serves the dish so well. Too often overly salty gravy or cheese overwhelms the dish but not here. Literally the best I've ever had. Cleaned the bowl completely. The other dish we had was chicken legs and cassava. Tender moist chicken and fried cassava was fabulous. Inside or outside seating with views of the brewing equipment and chefs working. Our server was both helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Very fast friendly service. We were seated promptly. The bartender came to our table and took our order for drinks. Then ran over and quickly made the cocktails. Our server soon followed and took our orders. Literally in about 10 minutes, our food was delivered and ready to go! Super fast service! Good food too. Tacos and fish and chips! Decent flavor! Inside an old train turn table station that is moderately noisy. Now for the bad, the giant fish piece is only given a tiny portion of tartar sauce to go with it, when we requested more they wanted to up charge $2.00. That is the same as charging for ketchup for fries! If you're offering tartar sauce for the fish, before you charge you should at least give enough for the portion of food you are serving! Pictured is the amount that you receive with the plate. Which is also the amount they want to charge the extra money for. That is poor customer service! For this reason alone, we wouldn't return to this restaurant!

We stopped here on a Wednesday afternoon and were quickly seated with a party of seven. Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. My daughter ordered the mac n cheese, my hubby ordered the burger, and I ordered the pork tacos. I also ordered the Juiced AF hazy IPA. Everything was really good. I would definitely come eat here again. My only complaint was the length of time it took for our food and then to pay after. I ended up going to the bar to ask if we could pay so we could get moving with our day.

Steam Whistle Kitchen is the restaurant counterpart of Steam Whistle Brewing. This is separate from the Tap Room, which focuses mainly on the drinks. The menu is eclectic, drawing inspirations from different parts of the globe (offering items such as shakshouka, tabbouleh, and plant-based banh mi). Food is pretty good, with something for everyone. I had the Arctic Char with Tabbouleh, with a side of Seared Asparagus with Romesco Sauce. I liked how the asparagus was still somewhat crisp and not overcooked. Service is great - friendly, fast, and efficient. They have a nice patio that's open in the summer, overlooking Roundhouse Park, Toronto Railyway Museum, and CN Tower. The location makes it ideal, as it's very close to all the major tourist hotspots (CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, Rogers Centre) and the financial district.

The breading were crispy, not oily and thin. However, the fish smelled. I think it was Alaskan cod and I never like Alaskan cod because never have a good one and they always smell. The chips were good. Since we were in Canada, I had to get poutine. I don't know I think I'm a bit bias since I lived in Wisconsin for 3 years. I like fried cheese curds better than non-fried cheese curds. The gravy could use a bit salt in the poutine. My boyfriend opted out for a burger and he was very happy with it. One thing I've to shout out about them. It's their Cole slaw. It was so good. The dills in it made the dish so refreshing and tasty. We would happy to come back here again to enjoy some beers and bar foods.
After a trip to the Aquarium, we wanted to get a quick bite. This was right across the street. Kinda and quick service. Cauliflower salad was just right.
We looked up restaurants near the CN Tower to go for lunch during a LONG layover in Toronto. I read the Yelp reviews and we decided to give it a try. Fish and chips at a beer place has to be tasty, right? Yes! So crispy and did you see the size of the fish!!! We thought it was an entire haddock! Fries were crispy and hot. The coleslaw was seasoned with dill and cut shoestring style. It was tasty. I do not like sweet coleslaw do I was happy. Everything was reasonably priced, our server was pleasant and we enjoyed the break. Yes, you should go and a bonus you get a little train history outside of the building too.
We arrived at the CN Tower tour a little early, and we had some time to kill. We wanted to grab a snack and a beer after an unsatisfying sandwich at Elm Street Deli. Steam Whistle was across the street, had good reviews, and looked inviting with its outdoor seating. We had a pretzel and some beer. The pretzel was very good. It was moist & chewy, and went well w/ the dipping sauces. Likewise, the beer was refreshing and cool on a hot summer day. Regarding the ambiance, there is indoor & outdoor seating. This is a large place. Our waitress was really nice & friendly, like most people in Canada. If you are looking for a place before & after a tour at CN Tower, Steam Whistle is the perfect place. I believe Rogers Centre where the Blue Jays play is also nearby, so its a good place before a ball game also.
Thought this would be a cool place to stop in for lunch. Decided to get the fish and chips. The fish was fried perfectly and it was flavorful. The slaw and fries were good as well.

Located in the old railroad roundhouse across the street from the Aquarium and Convention Centre, the Steam Whistle Kitchen is an excellent spot to refuel after a day spent at either location. They serve only one house-brewed beer, which is a Pilsner and is quite good. Three of the four of us ordered the Pork Chop Special, and it was amazing. The venue offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in a unique setting. read more
We enjoy grabbing Steam Whistle every now and then, but the beer is even better at the brewery, fresh and unfiltered--so refreshing and crisp! The food is also really good, and we especially enjoyed the Patatas Bravas appetizer. A great spot for beer lovers and casual bites alike. read more

Went here after work on a Thursday and it was a fun place to enjoy some drinks and appetizers for a couple hours. The pineapple shandy was sweet and refreshing and hit the spot after a long work week already. The appetizers were all good, though nothing was truly groundbreaking. Then again, it's a brewery so I didn't expect to find the greatest food dish ever. That said, they had just rolled out the summer menu and they had some awesome sounding options, though we avoided a lot of what was recommended since we had someone in our party that didn't eat pork. Perhaps there's a few gems here after all and we just didn't order them, though what we did order was still nice. The staff was friendly and welcoming but we did get the sense like they wanted the table back at some point. Overall, I'd go back for a drink and some apps again. read more

One of the best meals I've had in Toronto. So when we arrived it was packed about an hour before a blue jays game. We waited about 25 mins and were seated outside. The service was pretty slow as it took over an hour and there was nobody left when we finished, our waitress seemed like she couldn't care less. The reason for the 5 stars is the food is just that good. I got the smoked and brined chicken and garlic potatoes. The chicken was super juicy and the potatoes were the most garlicky dish I've ever had. It's a normal beer garden with benches and umbrellas. It's worth a try even if you don't drink. read more
We found this place across from the CN tower. The ambience is neat being a former train station. The servers were friendly and helpful. The unfiltered Pilsner was a little sweeter as described. The brats were great. The pork chop was really huge. The chicken shawarma was also tasty. Overall the food tasted light and healthy. Definitely recommend read more
Came here after visiting the aquarium. Daughter got the pretzel and loved it (and she's picky). Son got a burger and also loved it. I forgot what my wife got (oops). I got the wings and they were really good! The dipping sauce for the wings was like a jalapeño type of dip and then another dip was like a creamy dill. I mixed them together and tasted sooooo good. Really good food and service. Also they don't accept cash so credit card only. read more
Had a fun experience coming here in full cosplay during Fan Expo 2022! Was coming from the Metro Toronto Convention Center just across the street during the lunch hour, understandably, there was a lineup, being as there was a Jay's game, a concert AND Fan Expo all happening in the same area. The moment we got in, the service staff was a delight and shared a couple good laughs from my husband and I being in full cosplay. The interior is spacey, well lit and clean and great for groups since it's a 'picnic table' kind of seating. Hubby and I both got beer, sausages and a pretzel to share. Of course being a brewery, the beer was absolutely delicious, especially on a sweltering hot August day. The pretzel was so, so good. That soft yeasty, doughy, salty goodness, super fresh too. The only thing I wasn't tooooo huge on, was the bratwurst itself. BUT, I'm really not much of a pork eater and it just tasted 'too porky' for me. Fries were okay, not much to say on em, very standard. If I'm ever in the area again, I would love to drop in for the beer + pretzel combo alone. Paid with cash. read more
What a gem. Came here a decade ago and couldn't wait to go back. Went 5x in 12 days. Took a coworker, took the wife, took the staff for dinner, took myself. Great beer and great food. The biergarten was a new addition for me, having only had the other side previously. Inside staff were terrific, outside eh. The dude on the cart could have been more helpful instead of grunting words about not being able to get food at 3 specific tables, and not being able to walk 3 feet to get the unfiltered beer. BUT still wonderful and definitely something that is a must for beer fans. read more

Wow! Our family of five (ages 44 to 9) stopped by Steam Whistle after a visit to CN Tower. Given the area, I was expecting an over-priced, under-flavorful meal. Instead, what we got was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had as a family. The food was all phenomenal, from the Pretzels and Poutine to start, to the Bratwurst and Steak Stroganoff as our meals. And, best of all? Their Pilsner beer was CRAZY GOOD! Seriously, best Pilsner I've ever had, anywhere in the world. Next time I'm in Toronto, I'll go back. Again and again. read more

We stopped for lunch and beer. Solid place! Located by the CN Tower and it's a little touristy but a really fun area to hang out in. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Beer menu is really extensive. Food was quite tasty. I appreciated that they had a lot of shareable apps to make for a lighter meal. Retail is available as well as beer to pack and take home with you. Try the Pilsner! read more

Amazing atmosphere..we were outdoors and taking in the best of Toronto. There's always so much happening here..we saw across CN Tower..TIFF was playing around the corner from us. The area is transformed into beautiful boardwalk and hang out spots. Just gorgeous to be an an outdoor restaurant in the area. The food was good and we enjoyed it with good company. read more

Gord and I walked to Steam Whistle Biergärten and had a late lunch on the patio. It was on my list of things I wanted to do on vacation (and today is my last day of vacation). My Sessions Lager tasted good! I ordered a cheese burger (minus the lettuce) and had it cooked medium-well. It was a good burger and I'd get it again. The onion rings were good too. Gord had a Bratwurst Sausage. He said it was really good and he'd get it again. He cut me off a piece and it was tasty. Elissa was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us. read more

- Line to be seated was so so so slow. - I had a great server. - Beer selection at this brewery is really limited and uninspired. - Location is cool, the roundhouse thing where the trains turned around was awesome to see. - Ordering beer only from server, order food from counter, but it is brought to you. Weird arrangement. Makes for more waiting and having to pay two bills. - Food was okay, I had the chicken. Came with a potato medley thing that was quite good. - I like beer with flavor, so I'll probably not return. No regrets giving it a try though. read more
