Called to say my dog was ready. Got there, paid, and gave the groomer a tip. She said she didn't finish her trim and would do it next time free of charge. Of course Lisa was not there when I dropped her off and picked her up! U can't run a business if u aren't ever there! I didn't realize she only trimmed her back until I got home. Called and left a message. Lisa rescheduled me twice but ended up having to work instead. Now she won't give me my money back which she said she would!!!! Don't go there!!!!!!!! Worst groomer in Steamboat. The one and only groomer, Angie, is famous for not showing up and/or having the most ridiculous excuses for her absence. The owner, Lisa, doesn't like to have big dogs as clients bc "they have too much hair ". So it's a groomer that doesn't want dog hair in the facility. DO NOT waste your time or money here. read more

The regular place I go to did not have availability. Horrible experience here! Started off when trying to find the place as the address does not lead you to a shop off the alley! I paid for a dog wash and brush out. They rushed the service as they called me to ask if I could come early to pick up our dog. I arrived and picked up my dog to find out when I get home he was not even brushed out. I knew he had areas on his back, neck, and the underside of his tail and none were touched! Very disappointed and WILL NOT come back. So mad I actually left the lady a tip! There is another place in town and I recommend going there if you're looking for a better pet groomer. read more

We had a great experience with Beth Dennehy and her crew at Steamboat Dog Spa. She met us out front of her shop, and discussed exact details of what we wanted done - trimming around private areas, eliminating matts, removing dead undercoat, trimming down leg pantaloons, nails. One reason we went to her was because of her experience with Bernese Mountain Dogs - not all groomers know what to do with them, and she lives with three of them. Our Berner Taylor is generally a handful, and she paid him extra friendly attention before we led him and our Sheltie Jessie into her shop. She also gave us directions for getting from Steamboat to Estes Park, a drive we'd not made before, to get to the BMDCA National Specialty. They were done with both dogs in four hours. Both were happy to see us, but Taylor skittered back to Berner lean on Beth and get more skritches, something no dog we've ever owned has done with any groomer. And both dogs looked beautiful - nicely shaped feet, trimmed ears, nice light trim overall. We highly recommend Beth and her groomers for any dog. Whether you live in Steamboat or are just passing through like we were, she'll take care of you. read more

Dixie (27 lbs) and Lee Roy Jenkins (40 lbs) are Mini-Bernedoodles born 1/27/2020. In the pics below, they are 20 months old. Having recently moved to SBS we sought a dog groomer. Thank goodness our first try was a HUGE success which put us on the road to regularly scheduled, recurring appointments. Steamboat Dog Spa's location is also prime when you are downtown (and there appears to be plenty of parking). Steamboat Dog Spa is immediately behind Lyon's Drug (which is wonderful also). Prior to moving to SBS we lived on Turtle Creek in Dallas and regularly went to Barking Hound for grooming. Our dogs are at least as excited to go to Steamboat Dog. Spa. read more

They got our doodle Duncan in on short notice, had him combed out, trimmed up and looking dapper in a couple of hours! They even put a tie on him! The groomer said she played with him after his bath and blow dry... I wish we weren't from out of town. I would switch to this groomer full time. read more

Beth and her crew are THE BEST! They take such good care of our 3 dogs. And, they are very friendly and love animals. You can tell that they take great care with the animals. Beth is especially amazing. She notices that one of my dog's toes on her paw was swollen and urged me to take the dog to the vet ASAP. I did, and it was cancer. (I am not making this up.) Her toe was amputated and she made a beautiful recovery. If Beth hadn't said something, I don't know what would have happened! Thank you! read more

I love taking my pup to steamboat dog spa as I am always incredibly impressed with the service! This was especially the case this last time, where my dog had started limping after our morning run. Her paw was bleeding and I had a vet appointment scheduled for after her haircut. However, her groomer was able to find a piece of wood that was in her paw. She removed it and cleaned it out and my dog was no longer limping! She went above and beyond a grooming service and I will always be coming back for that! Thank you! read more

When I returned to pick up Honey the groomer tried to give me the wrong dog, lost her seresto flea collar, and still charged me full price. She also had two dogs up on the grooming table with both of them unattended to. They could get scared/distracted, jump and break their neck. I also had to book my appointment out a month and a half. I will not be returning, as I don't believe Honey will receive the individualized care she deserves. read more

Took our 2 Labradoodles for complete grooming last Tues and picked them up late afternoon. After coming home found male dog had a cut on his ear that they had tried to stop bleeding. I called for two days and sent texts and photos to them. Finally went in and groomer said yes it was accidentally cut when he moved his head. when I ask why they did not tell me she said she told the owner and owner said she would tell me, which she didn't. I feel they should have been up front when dogs were picked up and told us at that time, not let us go home and find it and not call for two days to talk about it. Very disappointed in the way this was handled, will not go back. read more

WOWZERS! My dog is so beautiful and these ladies are wonderful. We just moved here and I expected a good groomer to take some time to find. I hit the bullseye on the first go around with Steamboat dog spa! I am super particular and so I brought a print out of cuts for a g.doodle I liked and didn't like. (I have taken this same print out to other groomers and had disappointing results). SDS did a wonderful and Proffessional job and I could not be happier that I found them :) read more
