Sabotaged O2 Sensor by Steele GMC. To try and scam me out of $1200

Zero stars..... I found them to be nice up front and to your face. But the reality is, they are unethical scammers. The work they had to do to replace the exhaust manifolds was extensive, and for that they did a great job. But when it came to the catalytic converters and the emissions, they basically raped me. I know cats aren't cheap... but $3500 ?!? Whatever. Don't forget the $400 core charge. The real issue is, they told me it ran rough because the BRAND NEW oxygen sensors weren't 'OEM'. Seriously? And they'd be happy to replace them all for only $1200. I refused. And went to my local Advanced Auto Parts to buy AC Delco ones. Ya know... OEM? $400. Upon having the parts store verify the codes, I look under my truck to see the O2 sensor wire hanging loose from the frame. Completely disconnected and the safety tab pulled. They even broke the mount clip so it cant be re-atached. Deliberately. Thats called Sabotage. If they had taken the time to hide it better I wouldn't have discovered it until I went to actually replace the sensors. (Which I returned right then and there, and got full credit for). Check out the photo taken in the parts store parking lot. As I write this, I still haven't been able to check out the other three sensors. But I will at first light. I wouldn't be surprised if they are all disconnected. Steele must train their service staff how to lie straight to a person's face while looking them in the eye. Because their focus is clearly on milking the customer for money, not being ethical, or even trustworthy. I will NEVER bring my GM Vehicles to another STEALership. Or in this case, back to this STEELErship. They are only interested in scamming their customers instead of giving them exceptional service. Just because the 'book' says it can take 6 hours, doesn't mean you charge the customer 6 hours when it only takes you 2. It's criminal and it's greed and they simply do not care. Do not bring your vehicle here, unless money is no object and you enjoy being scammed. And can afford a lawyer that does more than small claims.

Not a great experience at all…read more Back in November of 2025 my husband and I bought a preowned truck from this dealer. We were already pre approved with our credit union and told the dealer we would be over after we got off work to get a purchase order and sign docs. This is where is all went down hill. A bit of info for those who don't know: some dealers work directly with certain banks or finance companies and the dealership gets compensated on those deals. Some dealers will shotgun your credit to multiple lenders at once just to find one that will approve you for financing. Most of them do not explain this to you. Anyway turns out my credit union deals directly with this dealership, great news, should be a breeze, right? WRONG!!! Since we did not submit an app with the dealer to our credit union they were not getting compensated on our deal, the guys at the dealership were not happy and boy did their finance manager Evan let it show. Oh, yeah I remember you and the attitude you had, I'm calling you out. We told the dealership we just needed the purchase order, we arrived there around 6:00 PM and they took well over an hour to get us one piece of paper. Wild right? During us waiting all this time they tried to sell us on their GAP which was inferior to my credit unions GAP so we turned it down. We live approximately 10 minutes from the dealership and didn't get home with the truck until close to 9:00 even though we got there around 6:00 expecting to sign documents then. Seriously what an epic of time wasted, and the attitude we got because we didn't want the dealer to pull our credit again you would think that we were going out of our way to disrespect these guys. Imagine that, we're doing business with you and we're met with attitude. Come to find out later on this truck had issues that were undisclosed on the carfax that we ended up having to pay out of pocket for, obviously we didn't have Round Rock Honda look at it, you boys have permanently lost our business. It's been over six months since we did this but I still vividly remember this terrible experience. Y'all made a simple process of signing docs agonizing and overly drawn out. Every bit of disrespect in this review is 100% earned.

I decided to wait at the dealership. Five hours later, I left w/my car now sputtering/hiccuping at each stop light. I called Dorian & he advised me to come back. Dorian was quick to get my car in and I was out of there roughly 30 minutes later. I drove home only to find out AGAIN it was STILL performing incorrectly - maybe not as bad but still sputtering. This was not an issue when I drove in. I called Dorian again and he asked once again if I had time to go in. It is now almost 4pm. I was not about to go in for a 3rd time. The issue happened to be an ignition coil. This back-and-forth caused a significant inconvenience including work time lost, the cost of fuel and toll charges for the multiple back and forth trips and added stress driving a vehicle that was not performing reliably. I contacted manager Wayne and Luis for an inconvenience credit but since they fixed these parts w/no added charges to me, no credit was given but a free oil change on my next visit. What a great way to treat a customer going on 15 years of Nissan service!

I hate this so much that I've bought my last two cars from Carvana simply because I wouldn't have to speak to anyone. I find the stereotypical car-buying experience (new and, especially, used) to be unnecessarily stressful and taxing. Today, this has changed. When I found a slightly better deal locally than I did on Carvana, I took the plunge. From the beginning, Angela was super helpful and responsive. She didn't insist on talking on the phone and was happy to text details, which is infinitely more manageable during the workweek. When it came time to make the trek to Austin e Autos, Angela let me know that she would be off that day and handed off the deal to Isaac. Isaac is the best. Isaac put us through the paces of letting us test drive, then talking numbers. At no point did the numbers they advertised ever change. I came in with pre-approval through USAA, and they did not push me toward in-house financing. This has never happened to me before. They usually push that really hard. Once the numbers were agreed upon, we were handed over to Stephanie for the paper signing. This was equally painless, and there was no push to buy extended warranties, wheel insurance, GAP, etc, etc, etc. The numbers we discussed with Isaac were the exact numbers we signed off on with Stephanie. Incredibly painless, transparent, and honest process. My wife loves her car, and I am very impressed by the buying experience. If you're in the market for a used EV, look here first. All the stars. Thank you, Isaac, Angela, and Stephanie!

Before I even came in, I had already called the service department multiple times trying to schedule an appointment for the white paint repair. I was told I could not make an appointment for that and had to come in person. I also did not receive a clear callback option or a clear explanation over the phone. The whole process felt very inefficient and customer-unfriendly from the beginning. My in-person experience with Cornelius made it even worse. After I told him I did not want to do the maintenance service, his attitude became very dismissive and condescending. When I tried to ask follow-up questions about the white paint repair process, he spoke to me in a way that made me feel like I was being laughed at for not understanding the process. My impression was that everything had to go through him, and I felt discouraged from getting clarification from Will, who seemed to understand the process better. Cornelius also mentioned that he was military and that things had to be direct and "in order," but the way it came across to me did not feel like professional customer service. It felt controlling and disrespectful. Later, thankfully, a manager and Will stepped in and explained things clearly and patiently. They helped me understand that the body shop may not be ready for about 3 months, and that once the repair is actually scheduled, the rental car would be handled through that side of the process. I also ended up taking a ride home myself, and no Uber or ride option was offered to me. I'm giving 2 stars only because the manager and Will eventually took the time to help and explain the process. Otherwise, based on the confusing process and Cornelius's attitude, this would have been a 1-star review.

The latter is important as it demonstrates to me that he's more about being helpful and building trust than he is about selling me things I don't need. I haven't purchased a vehicle from Steven, but knew of him and his dealership, so I asked him about some automotive issues I had: I had to replace two things on my vehicle: a very expensive HID headlight and a passenger side mirror that got sideswiped and demolished. I prefer to do things myself if it's easy enough and won't kill the vehicle. The headlight would've cost nearly $2,000 to have someone else get the part and replace it. Steven helped me locate a reasonably-priced used headlight that I installed myself and saved $1,700. The side mirror was surprisingly more involved than the headlight, and was harder to find a replacement. Parts and labor at other places were running around $800. Steven was able to find a used part and installed it in about 15 minutes. On that one he saved me around $650. My situations in which he's helped me are a bit different than buying from him, and maybe people don't often ask him about parts as much as they do about buying from his inventory, but in both cases that I've reached out to him on his opinions and expertise he's been above board and honest, as well as taking my expressed concerns into consideration. He's never tried to sell me on something I didn't need or up charge me when he could save me money. That speaks volumes, and he's earned my trust. I'd highly recommend checking out Steven and Hip Motors if you're looking for a car or have auto issues!

I was tired of looking around at used cars since I had been looking for 2.5 months, trying to make sure I did not buy an unsafe car. This car has a seat belt that does not work, does not have a wheel lock, turn signal does not work and does not have a manual. I am sure I will uncover more things about the car that was withheld from me during my initial meeting with Steven. He told me when I purchased the car that they top off all of the fluids when they get cars in and inspect them before selling them. The 2nd day I had the car, I noticed a warning light was on. I took it to a auto store and they said the washer fluid was low. I purchased 2 gallons of washer fluid and it took 1.5 gallons. So Steven is now an untruthful person, because there is no way they could top off the fluids when it needed that much washer fluid. Save your money and the aggravation, if you have any issues after the sale and buy from an honest dealer that sells cars that are safe to drive. Don't buy a car from him or the guy he shares a building with Josh at Centexsi.com.
