I brought my Lexus in for her required mileage maintenance for the first time at this location. I immediately liked my service advisor and was checked in easily. I decided to wait for my vehicle and was disappointed that I was not given an estimate of when the car would be ready. I've had other makes of cars, and those dealers always provided that. When my vehicle was ready, my advisor came to me and let me know that nothing was found, and provided the extra information I had requested at check in. I received a text that allowed me to sign my invoice, but I was also sent to the counter, where an invoice was presented, so I had that option too. Lexus has a coffee shop for customers, and here's where this review loses stars. The employee working was cold and unfriendly. She wouldn't smile. She wouldn't engage with anyone. When no customer was at the counter, she stood around, looking unhappy. When I got in line for a second time to get a refill she made me feel like I was bothering her. This is not the Lexus service I expected. On top of that, while I was in line that second time, an employee came in through the back of the café area and asked about getting food, asking about the last muffin in the case. She said he could have it and take it. So, he did. There were four of us in line. What if one of the customers in line wanted it? Overall, this is not Lexus level service. read more

It's been a couple of years since my last review. It seems as though some things have changed such as the Penske acquisition, and the fact that coincidentally there's lots of one star reviews in the last year or two. The complaints stem from both the sales and service aspects. You may wish to scroll through all the one star reviews so as to avoid any possible pitfalls yourself. As for me, I've not had any problems and I usually have a list of things I would like addressed upon arrival as far as maintenance goes. One thing I noticed that's new is that when you check in it's likely you'll get a call from the sales department asking if you wish to have your car appraised to sell to them (I did). To be honest, I wouldn't buy a new Lexus today with all those small four-cylinder turbo engines and the new spyware cameras that watch you driving. I love my 2010 ES 350 and I wish they still made them like this. I'd definitely buy another one. My visit consisted of a 30 point inspection, drain and fill transmission service and serpentine belt inspection. I did ask to see a sample of the tranny fluid to see how dark it was since the car comes with no dipstick, but they forgot my request. They did run into a problem with the drain plug being stripped from the previous tranny shop so they had to get one from the Toyota location which added an extra hour and a half to my wait. Altogether the inspection and trans service set me back $532. It would've been nice if the inspection included a diagnostic scan to check for any codes. Overall, everything went well, and Harold my advisor was very attentive. You'll pay a little more here than the average shop, but at least you get the right parts and fluids. I'll be back when I need something else fixed. read more

Once again, the most stellar service from Lexus of Austin. It's worth my hour drive to come here and get my car serviced by such a professional staff. They took my car in on a rainy night at 5:57pm. Made all of the repairs in a timeline manner too. I did have to deal with 2 service personnel as my original one Leo had gone on vacation but Patricia picked right up. They advised me of my must need repairs and advised me on the "maybe " ones but absolutely no pressure to have done, which was very nice. Especially with the holidays right around the corner. When your car is under warranty and your AC goes out, if it's caused by a bug they will not fix your air conditioner. Not explained to me when I bought the car. It was bumper-to-bumper. Never told if a bug got in there and messed up the AC thats not covered. They want to they charge over 2000 to fix it! I will not purchase another vehicle from this dealership nor anyone in my family and there's three members in our family who currently drive Lexus. Come on do better! I also did check with Cadillac Volvo and Acura, they all would cover this at no expense. read more

One . I recently purchased a 2016 ES 350 with 40k miles for the asking price. Paid extra for warranty. Today, Russell informed me it will cost me approximately $3k to repair a safety issue, the blindside monitor has malfunctioned. The extended warranty doesn't cover the part nor labor. Russell is speaking with the sales team as I write. I expect a call soon. They did provide a loaner. 3/44:59pm Russell calls and suggests I call the warranty company. I explicitly stated that they Sales team, F&I needed to call me and tell me how they were goi g to help me. I am now awaiting another call. 5:42 they offered to pay half. I was also informed that if I would purchased the "gold" package that part would have been covered. The adventure resumes mañana. For now, I will give back the 1/4 . 11/26/25 - It ended here. It's a dealer item, so I can only go to the dealer for repairs. I checked for recalls, zilch. Ok, silver lining... the car is drivable. It is a safety feature, but it is not completely necessary. Also, having just bought the car, I wonder if the dealer knew about the malfunction and sold it to me anyway. No way to prove that though. What sticks in my craw is the warranty thing, and having been in the car business that one is on me. I should have taken the premium warranty. Lexus Service team is always excellent with the Check In Concierge team at the service check-in lanes that are always super welcoming and courteous plus they have a sense of urgency on scheduled service needs and to get you into a loaner etc. Quick and easy! A few names of the super staff are AB, Ke'andre, Tony plus others! Always well staffed. Maria is my Service Advisor and along scheduling and following up on the included Lexus 10K Maintenance and Checks , Maria has been such a facilitator on getting Lexus accessories like PPF and Tinting installed on our vehicle with great attention to detail to ensure a quality install and the highest customer satisfaction. Disrespectful and unprofessional employees... I purchased my first Lexus from Lexus of Austin prior to the pandemic. Their customer service at that time was exceptional from the GM all the way down. I recently purchased another Lexus from another dealership, and scheduled a "Complementary Multi-Point Inspection" at Lexus of Austin. When I arrived for the appointment, I was appalled by the behavior of the service advisor (Leo). Not only did he belittle me for not having another service scheduled (I neglected the fine print stating the "Complementary Multi-Point Inspection" is only complementary when paying for another service), Leo went on to say, "We don't just see anyone"... "You can't just come here and get free service"... and then continued chastising me in a way that felt very demeaning and bias. Evidently employees such as Leo should not be in this or any forward-facing role, especially for such a customer based business as this. After driving away I immediately called the dealership to speak a manager in charge of the service advising. I was told by both CSRs I spoke to they were unable to locate either of the two service managers. I was then transferred to the service director. She too was unavailable so I left a voicemail briefing expressing my grievance. It's no surprise she never returned my call... To anyone in the market for a Lexus try Lakeway or somewhere else. Although Lexus of Austin will gladly take your money and service your vehicle or sell you a car, it's definitely not worth putting up with the disrespect. read more

This review is specific to the service department. I've previously written a glowing review for sales. Unfortunately, our first encounter with the service department was disappointing. We are retired and haven't taken a road trip since buying our Lexus 10 months ago. So the mileage on our car hasn't warranted a visit to the dealer. We are gong to be out of town at our 1-year purchase anniversary, so made an appointment early. We've had a few minor problems so finally brought it in. We were told the wait would be about an hour. The waiting area is fabulous, with an attended coffee bar and snacks. There are open areas as well as cubbies where people can set up with laptops to work. We played on our phones as we waited... and waited... and waited. After about 2 hours, my husband asked where our service advisor was. The folks at the cashier desk didn't have our paperwork and tried unsuccessfully to locate our advisor. He finally showed up and we checked out. I think he entirely forgot about us. Virtually nothing had been done with our vehicle (other, perhaps, than a tire rotation), after all that time. Needless to say, we were more than a little miffed... as we missed another commitment. The car was vacuumed and rinsed off (the car wash wasn't working). Having us wait for 2 1/2 hours is no way to treat a customer, even if the service is a complimentary one. read more

My mom has been a regular service customer since buying a new ES350 in 2014. The last two times the experience has been poor. First the service technician claimed the CV Joint boots were cracked and tried to sell her an expensive replacement. She declined. On further inspection the axles/boots are in excellent shape. This finding is in the dealers service records and on visit #2 for regular maintenance the service rep seemed dismissive and skeptical when politely confronted with the issue. We were also unable to get a copy of the current interval check schedule and referred to the owners manual. That's a minor nit, but an annoyance considering the aloof response to the CV joint issue and dismissive attitude when we declined the $1800 interval check and referring us to us the manual in the car to find out what was included. read more

I was a few minutes early for my 8:30 appointment, George et al handled my complimentary service check of my ES 350 thoroughly while sharing a video of their process receiving green lights on all. When I arrived right on time, (I drove all the way down from Waco), my salesman said one of the other salesmen, an unscrupulous douchebag, had snagged the Rover keys, which were clearly marked sold, and started a deal with a walk-in minutes before I got there. Pissed me right the hell off! I had a deal! I asked to talk to the sales manager. He suddenly was 'not available'! My salesman man told me customers who finance get preferential treatment over cash buyers because the dealership makes money from the finance charges. They don't care one bit about my deal. Be aware! I have been a customer since 2015 and I can honestly say their customer service has gone down hill over the past few years. I have various examples where people were flat out rude, acted like they had better things to do or just didn't take me seriously, which is very disheartening. I will never buy a vehicle or have my vehicles serviced at this location again. And yes, I am in the market for a new vehicle (HA). I can only speak to the service side as I purchased my car elsewhere, but I have been bringing my Lexus in here for the last 5+ years for maintenance/etc. and the customer service has always been a great experience. The lounge is really nice to work in if you want to wait for your car, or they are always happy to provide a loaner or offer to call an Uber. I love the complimentary snacks and beverage selection and look forward to this amenity whenever I have to bring my car in and wait. Plenty of outlets throughout the room as well. I like that there is no longer a long wait time for car cleaning as you can take it thru the drive yourself. However, I do miss the interior cleaning/vacuuming they used to do, and also wish they would post the car wash hours online as sometimes I arrive only to find it closed bc the hours have changed. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful, the process feels seamless, and I feel like they are transparent with the maintenance work and costs so there are never any surprises. I can tell how the service quality and level going down and down. 1, no hand car wash then no machine car wash, lowering the service level to the customer 2, the service advisor Jimmy was reluctant to offer the $50 discount on over $500 service charges in person until I had to find the coupon on the website. I think it would be much more appreciative if he could offer it without the 10 years repeat customer have to look for it which was obviously there on the website offering to every customer. 3, after checking in the vehicle for maintenance and tire replacement service, Jimmy did not let me know ETA. I dropped off my car and key to the service with an estimated wait time of 1-1.5 hour wait to complete. After waiting almost 2 hours I had to track down my service advisor Jorge to let him know I had to leave for work and he let me know that he didn't realize the car was there and they hadn't started. Went to test drive the N350 and they had me drive a N250 because they "had none on the lot". Truth was they had plenty in the loaner car area that I could have tried. I fit well in the 250 and handled well. Salesman said nobody buys the 250's and to just get the 350. So I put my down payment on it. When it came in from the factory, I didn't get a chance to look it over until after all the papers were signed. By papers, I mean digital records that they go over so fast and never give you a copy of any of it. Later I had to request the paperwork and they sent 2 PDFs of just the payment sheet and another sheet that was useless. I never got paperwork on the warranties I purchased so I had no record of the extras I purchased. When I went to sit in the car, I didn't fit. Adjusted the seat but bumped my head every time I got in it and I had to throw my leg into the car to get into it. There's no adjustment for a frame of a car that doesn't fit your body and I'm only 5'4". The person to teach me how to drive it went over things in10 minutes and I never understood what half the knobs did. I had to later YouTube how to work the cruise control. I was never told there's no spare tire for the car. Too many surprises after I bought it. Drove it for a year and got rid of it. Loser of a car. The turbo engine was the only saving grace. read more

The representative we spoke to inside told us the model he thought would match our needs was outside (a TX), so he opened the door and said it's straight ahead of you. Great I know how it goes, so I hang up and go about my day. 2 hours later Patricia calls me and I tell her my issue. She explains she can run a $200+ diagnostic on my vehicle which I already have a full report from Lambs auto and just wanted to pay Lexus for the Labor instead of Lambs. She claims there is no way we can do that and I'll go ahead and have to pay another diagnostic. Which I said I did not think was fair. She did not try to put me on hold to ask any managers or see if there was another route.. instead she said "OKAY" AND HUNG UP IN MY FACE. I switched to Lakeway at that point, but the car I wanted came in to Austin so I ended up buying there, after watching the inventory myself and proactively communicating about its arrival. Now it has expired and we heard it's a $200.00 fine for not having a valid tag. We left messages again and still no return call as to what we should do. I guess now that they have our money no further "pretending we're important " is required. Now we're concerned about the type of service we'll have on the new vehicle in the future. The place is great, amenities are nice, cars are great. Business ethics is crap. They act like the derogatory used car salesmen. We waited 4 months for our car to arrive and when we couldn't get in within a couple days to accept it they started a hard press on us saying it's their month end and they really need to get this deal done for their numbers. I'm sorry, we had a death in the family that takes precedence. They threatened to sell our car to someone else If we didn't make it in and sign the paperwork before cob on the 31st. And then were extremely pushy on the extended warranty. Started out at 5k, and then dropped to 3k to sell it. Don't jerk us around. Also offered 3k less than CarMax on trade in and wouldn't match price. Financing was 1.65% higher than UFCU and they wouldn't match that either. Terrible business practices.
