I'm stressed out and the staff was so understanding and help me calm down. I will place another review as I get further into , my care with Dr. White. I have 85% chance of having cancer and my upper left lobe of my lung so I'm pretty scared. I just wanna get everything over with lol and I know that's not possible, one step at a time. I was relying on coffee throughout the day to keep myself going. At night I would toss and turn, never getting restful sleep. I was desperate for it. I had almost constant body aches, and if I did anything physical I "paid" for it in joint and muscle pain for days after. I didn't want to go to the doctor and be put on a new medication. I needed a solution to the root of my pain, not a bandaid. I sought out a functional doctor in my area and found Dr. Hoyt and his wonderful staff. On my initial visit I learned that I was full of inflammation, and the next visit it was all confirmed with my blood test results. In two weeks of following his plan I got my sleep back. In a month I no longer had chronic joint pain issues. In the 6 months I lost 44 lbs and regained my health! I have changed my nutrition and now respect how my body can heal itself. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Naturally, I was placed on a CPAP machine, which subsequently I could not tolerate no matter how hard I tried & found myself removing it in my sleep. I consulted with Dr. Willy Chua, who suggested other alternatives like an oral appliance or INSPIRE. This is where the epic fail happened. They referred me to a dentist specializing in the oral appliance so I made the appointment to see him. To my chagrin, this dentist was not in the Tricare network so I unfortunately had to shell out $75 to see him for NOTHING! I get told by the receptionist that the appliance would cost in the thousands! Anyhow, I was highly disappointed that this office did not ensure he was in the network. This was a total waste of my time and hard earned money. I will not be as trustworthy next time. I called Healthnet, who oversees the Tricare referrals, and found a most helpful representative. He informed me that the appliance is considered "durable medical equipment" or DME and it is fully covered without any out of pocket costs for me; even my office visits are 100% covered! I found a fantastic dentist in San Diego and have received my appliance. I truly have ambivalent feelings about this office because I perceive that they did not look out for my best interests or they have little experience dealing with Tricare, I'm not sure. They are professional and have requisite experience as far as conducting sleep studies. They cost me extra money & time. A while back, I was scheduled for an unnecessary appointment. I don't plan to return here for future sleep studies, if needed. I will look for another facility should that need come up. Speaking from experience as a Tricare patient do not rely or trust entities and do your own due diligence by doing your own research because nobody really takes better care of you than you.

Very knowledgeable and willing to listen. One day I messaged her, right after Christmas 2025. She usually gets right back to her patients, at least in my case, but in this case it was several weeks with no response so I figured maybe she was on a vacation. I was quite taken back when I found out that she had left the practice as I had just saw her a week prior to Christmas. . I never heard from her and I was pretty close to her as a patient and she knew so much about me and my medical and health needs. She helped me profoundly and I was absolutely grieved to see her go. It has been difficult to find a doctor like her. I have several conditions and a rare disease. She did not hesitate with unconventional and traditional approaches, and to listen to the patient and their needs as well as how they were feeling, to together come up with the solution that would alleviate the issues as well as provide hope for getting on a good path to overall health and well being and move forward to see what will work optimally for each of unique case. It is now April 2026 and I still am looking for a doctor that is even somewhat what Deborah Layton was.

While we were waiting, another patient, then a third patient arrived, so we were all waiting. after 10 plus minutes, and the door had not been unlocked, I called their phone number and the Corona office answered. The person stated they would be arriving shortly. Another 10 minutes or so went by and I called again, but was assured someone would be arriving in a couple of minutes. After another 10 minutes, the office girl showed up and unlocked the door, followed shortly by the Dr. Neither offered an apology or reason for being late, but I would guess they took an extra long lunch break, not caring they had patients waiting. At no time did either the Dr. or the office girl attempt to apologize to any of the patients. I didn't go into the examination room with my wife, because I knew I would unload on the Dr. It was all I could do to sit in the waiting room and not unload of the office girl. In my opinion, neither were very professional.
