Go here for amazing service from Sarah she was so chipper and helpful and the best part about our experience at Stefanos. We were originally told we would be seated inside but then got stuck on the bushes outside by the smokers in the wind. It was cold so the warm roll with herb butter was helpful. The side salad came with one delicious perfectly ripened cherry tomato and the peppercorn dressing was very good. Wished there were more tomatoes in the salad. We started with the eggplant napeolean special appetizer with Gorgonzola which was decent and served hot. For my main, I had the shrimp and scallops in the pink vodka sauce with penne and it was watery and fishy. The vodka' sauce needs more red sauce to balance out the cream. The ambiance outside was very romantic with the harp music and lighting outside but it was breezy and chilly and we were disappointed to be told we'd be sat inside and then moved to outside. Hub had the chicken parm and the sauce was very sweet. I was sad that this place was on my LBI wish list for so long but was a disappointing experience. Great Seafood. Attentive Server. Absolutely horrible sauce on their meatballs - even sub-Prago in my judgment. You bottle this junk they're serving, it's not moving off the shelf, at least to anyone with taste-buds. As for the meatballs, also bland to off-putting. I really like Stefano's. Coastal chic decor and a lively but not overwhelming atmosphere. The Mediterranean calamari was very good as was the shrimp Capri. Bread was good and the complimentary salad was fresh and crisp. Service was youthful, friendly and efficient. Although while I wouldn't say rushed, I did feel a bit hurried along. What I also like about Stefano's is that the manager (owner I think) is always at the helm and making sure things go as they should. It was ok. eggplant was little tough Coconut shrimp was crispy and large Also ordered clam and mussels in a white wine with arugula. Clams and mussels were so tender and clean. Arugula really made it different. Wine broth was vey tasty I ordered Frutti De Mare. Was huge dish. Mussels clams shrimp and lobster with chucks of cod on top of linguine it was so good and super fresh Wife had pistachio crusted salmon on top of an asparagus risotto. Salmon cooked so perfect and the risotto was super creamy. Son and his gf ordered Panko scallops with Mac and cheese with chucks of crab meat. Scallops were deep fried and over cooked. Mac and cheese was kinda not flavorful and not much crab meat. All in all it was a good dinner and large potions. Very expensive but on the island where ever u go it's not going to be cheap. First time at Stefano's and I was not disappointed. The service, food, and ambiance (even with COVID precautions) was 5 star. My parents were nervous it'd be hot under the clear plastic tent, but it actually was cool in the shade. They hung chandeliers in the tents and the tables were definitely socially distant, which made for an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere. Our server provided us with bread for the table, informed us that all entrees were served with house salads, and rattled off the specials. For an appetizer, my family split the fried calamari ($12) which was an extremely generous portion. No legs but this was light and tasty, rather than a heavy, greasy fried. Next came the salads, where my dad chose to upgrade to the wedge (+$7). The house salads were great, with homemade blue cheese dressing. For entrees, I chose the Scallop Risotto, my mom got the Panko Scallops with Crab Mac & Cheese, and my dad got the Filet Luna, topped with crabmeat over a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. All entrees were delicious and left us feeling full. The server brought over a dessert tray, and shared that some options were from local bakeries, and they had cheesecake from Junior's in NY. For dinner, I had the muscles with linguine and a friend ordered the tuna steak. They aren't shy with their portions either, you definitely Won't leave this place hungry and to make it even better it's byob so you can bring whatever drinks you please. 9/25/21 Saturday. Party of 6. Had a reservation for 7 pm. Checked in day before on line and got to the hostess stand at 6:55. "Oh yes sir your table is ready. Let me just check on it." Hostess #1 leaves and no sign of her. 7:15 I approach the hostess stand and remind them that we are still waiting "oh yes the other party is just finishing up". I think to myself ...ok you lied to me 20 minutes ago. Fine. I wait until 7:25 and I approach the hostess stand again and only hostess #2 is there. I remind her I've been waiting 1/2 hour for my 7:00 pm reservation. Ok they seat us inside. My reservations was promised for outside. We can't wait anymore and accept the inside table but this is a total fail so far. We get to our table and there is a nice flower arrangement. How nice as this is a special occasion for us as noted on our reservation. Hostess comes by and says sorry but they aren't for us. She takes them away. No server for 10 minutes. Server finally shows up and was friendly/pleasant. No apologies for the poor service so far. Food was good, not great. Extremely expensive for just ok food. We are local island residents and have been to Stefano's several other times over the last few years but overall it has gone downhill. We will not be back. The restaurant is overwhelmed with diners. They can't keep up with demand and I suspect have trouble getting help. To the owners: Do not take reservations you can't manage. read more

I give Stefano's a solid MEH. Made reservations last week on Open Table, and called ahead to inquire about indoor seating. Was told NO indoor seating. Arrive tonight - full inside. But now there's no space. Okay. Tables outside are most definitely NOT spaced 6 feet apart. I'm not really a fanatic about that stuff but rules are rules. They crammed a table about two feet from us while we were eating. It was a little uncomfortable. I've been dining out since May in CT (we've had indoor since June) and also when we've traveled to VT, easily we've been to 50+ different restaurants in that time. This was the first time I've been to a restaurant that was just disregarding the social distancing mandate. Food: Rolls with garlic butter, good in concept. But cold dry and chewy with hard butter. Rolls should be warm and crusty with room temp butter. Flavor of butter was good. Upgrade to wedge salad, good overall. A little sparse on the bacon. Plus it seemed like that ready cooked stuff rather than nice fresh thick bacon. They do not offer fresh ground pepper for your salad. Veal parmigiana. Now I read the other reviews and personally did not want to order anything with sauce. I was raised Italian and I'm picky. But the hubby wanted it. I cannot believe they serve a bowl full of dry pasta. Hubby asked for sauce and it was forgotten. Came about 15 minutes in. Sauce in my opinion is not edible. If you are used to good Italian food, do NOT order anything with red sauce here. The veal itself was tender and cooked well. They also don't offer Parmesan cheese with their Italian meals as would be expected. Salmon imperial, I ordered this because I wanted the lobster mashed potatoes. They were good but only 3 small pieces of lobster in the whole dish. So definitely wouldn't recommend ordering a side for $12. Salmon was cooked well, and was a huge portion. I couldn't finish it. Side of roasted veggies: random assortment and GREASY. Almost inedible and definitely not healthy. Skip this. Pumpkin crumb cheesecake with caramel sauce: best part of the meal. If you find yourself stuck dining here, definitely order this!! I think it's weird how some dishes come with a starch but no veggie, and others come with a veggie but no starch. Side dishes are extremely limited. The veggies we got were the only veggie side dish being offered and it would be a hard pass on ordering those. They should just have a couple pieces of asparagus on the plate for completion. Service: mediocre. No sense of urgency, no passion. They are shuffling out plates of subpar Italian food and you can almost see the hopelessness in their eyes. Our server did bring a candle to assist with the swarm of fruit flies that attacked our wine. But the miss on the sauce and the general vibe was disappointing. This is our third year vacationing on LBI. In past years, for whatever reason, we've skipped over Stefano's. We wanted to try some new spots this year, but Stefano's was definitely a miss. HANDS DOWN my family's FAVORITE, FAVORITE, FAVORITE spot on the island. A true classy seafood-Italian gem. The seafood alla vodka, which I get over angel hair, is best in class, along with the veal chesapeake, and flounder franchaise. Everything we get is outstanding and I appreciate how they always keep things interesting and seasonal with their specials. Not so much to say besides the food was just so good and you have to see for yourself. We got the coconut shrimp, mussels and clams Pinot, and their special eggplant with Gorgonzola cheese. All three were so good that I would order them again. The mussels and clams plate had a garlic sauce that was to die for .... trust me! For mains we had the Scallop Samantha and Chicken & sea scallops. Like them then both as well ... Scallop Samantha was my favorite. It was light with sun dried tomatoes and basil. Besides delicious food the service was great too. Wish I recall their names but the staff was very polite and informative. Definitely will come back here next time we visit LBI. read more

Our friends have been asking us for some time to go to Stefano's with them, so I was able to secure a four top before they closed for the season. We wanted to sit outside, but were told our reservation was for inside - I guess you have to specify when booking? I'm glad we ended up where we did because we had the delightful Abby as our server. She was patient, efficient and had a good sense of humor. The place was hopping but we never felt like we waited long for anything. We ordered the calamari and eggplant special for our appetizer - both very good. A salad came with our meal and I opted for the homemade bleu cheese dressing. The dressing was good, but skimpy - they could have added a little more. We were served rolls and herb butter. Two of us ordered the Seafood Abbondonza and two ordered the special - a pasta, seafood and pesto dish. Abby did let us know that the Abbondonza was a plentiful dish and she was right. I only got through half it it- delicious. Hubs ate his entire dish -no leftovers for him. I brought mine home with and my daughter finished it off saying they were the best mussels that she has had in a long time. We had cappuccinos to finish off the meal, forgoing the yummy desserts they offered. I thought the price was right for the meal we had and I loved the ambiance and service. Stopped in here with the in-laws while in LBI. The covid outdoor seating was very pleasant with warm lighting and light music. The service from start to finish was excellent and the BYOB with no corkage fee was huge. While the atmosphere and service was on point, the food was lacking. The salad we were served looked like a salad you'd be served at a church functioned pasta dinner. I ordered the veal parm, which lacked flavor, as did the side penne, which was undercooked and underdressed. I tried my sister in law's steak, which was also under seasoned. Overall good place to save money given the BYOB, but the food falls short. read more

Wanted to go here for my birthday last month but didn't make reservations in time. Found ourselves with an off night and decided to give it a try on a Monday. Still no reservations but we were able to get a seat outside. Unfortunately, the seat was around the corner from the front of the building next to the parking area. They did a good job with trying to create an ambience and there was a speaker with some easy-going music near us. Also unfortunate was the window ledge next to the table had some small ants crawling around. It's possible someone dropped food there but I just tried not to look and let them go about their business. Our waitress was young and bubbly, laughing and smiling a lot. We liked her. Water was brought to the table and glasses and corkscrew offered for BYOB. We already knew we wanted the Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer, so put that order in right away and it appeared about 5 minutes later. Very speedy service, but maybe left in the oven about 30 seconds too long. Came out dark brown instead of lightly toasted. Server came back and told us about the daily specials. We asked some questions on the menu and then ordered. After finishing the shrimp, someone came to the table and asked if we were done before they removed the plate. That's a big plus for us. They also asked if we wanted bread and who are we to turn down bread? It came in a basket with a scoop of herbed butter. Bread was yellow and dense rolls; thinking they were egg rolls, but our server didn't know. House salad comes with entrees, and an upgrade to a specialty salad is available for an additional charge. He got the house salad, I upgraded to the Milano. Upon delivering, Server asked if we wanted fresh cracked pepper. He said yes, she said she'd be right back, and......... In the meantime, I tried my salad and couldn't see/taste any dressing. Server came to check on us about 5 minutes later and realized she forgot the pepper. I used the opportunity to ask for a side of dressing. Both salads were great. Right sized with good mix of toppings. Next up: Entrees. Server delivered and offered hot pepper flakes and shredded cheese. We declined. He had Shrimp Capri, "Jumbo Shrimp Stuffed with Crab Meat, Angel Hair w/Scampi Sauce". His Pros: tasty, good sized portion. The scampi sauce was not oily or greasy (like it can be). His Con: there could've been more scampi sauce given the amount of angel hair pasta. I had Risotto Del Mar, "Shrimp, Lobster, Asparagus, Artichokes, and Tomatos". My Pros: the tails were removed from the shrimp!!! (This is HUGE for me.) Shrimp and lobster were tasty, asparagus was cooked well (I was afraid it would be over cooked/limp.). My Cons: the risotto. It wasn't creamy. The rice was was kind of hard. Serving size was too big for one meal so I took half to go. At this time we let our Server know we would not be having dessert. He still had a few bites of his entree left and Server stopped by to drop off the bill, saying, "I know you're not done eating, and not to rush you, but I'm just going to leave this here." Not knowing the restaurant's guidance to its servers on this protocol, we don't want to fault her for bringing the bill while there was still food on the table. That being said, it was a bit of a downer and of course I felt a little rushed. (He was fine tho...) Overall, I'm glad we finally got to give it a try. I do look forward to going back. This is really 5 stars restaurant in entire Log Beach Island. The food is amazing, we ordered various food, including Shrimp, Salmon, pasta with lobster and couple of appetizers. All the were fantastic. Our servers were amazing and impressive, despite their young age, all college students, they were extremely extremely professional and they all took good care of us and other tables as we watch them.
