Went here with a group, we all thought the food was mediocre at best. The lobster rolls were fairly bland, the tacos were extra greasy, and the burgers were just okay. We overheard the server telling the table next to us that they couldn't fulfill their request because it was their dinner menu and the fresh food wasn't delivered yet. Since we were at the 10th Annual Hopsauce and Beer Festival in Beach Haven LBI, we wanted to try this local favorite. My wife and I walked 3/4 mile each way and the restaurant was busy at 1:30 PM. Your expected NJ Shore bar ambiance so we found a high table across from the bar. I ordered six of the local Ship Bottom oysters and they were incredible. We also shared the Paella between the 2 of us. Mussels and Shrimp and Arborio rice with plenty of Saffron! Delicious. This was my first trip to LBI, and I didn't always feel welcome everywhere we went--but this place was a huge exception. Despite having a very cranky 2-year-old with us, Kevin went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. I asked for fries first just to get something in my kid's belly. Then we took our time ordering the rest. While we waited, Kevin brought over buttons and toys to keep my son entertained. When I mentioned that he had seen a balloon earlier and really wanted one, Kevin blew up a kitchen glove for him. That kind of thoughtful, above-and-beyond service is rare. Truly phenomenal. The ambiance was relaxed and welcoming. Everyone, including the other customers, seemed chill and friendly. While they don't have a liquor license, I was able to enjoy a small bottle of rosé, which was perfect for our early Mother's Day celebration. Food-wise, we started with a dozen oysters, which were so good we ordered more. You can't go wrong with focaccia with burrata. The crab birria tacos were messy and I couldn't really taste the crab, but they were still tasty. All in all, a wonderful atmosphere with great food and even better people. This place is a gem! I had Korean duck wings. They had a little kick to them and were tossed in Korean barbecue sauce. We shared the shrimp Poboy, which my wife liked more than the lobster roll, but I enjoyed them both equally. Amazing quality, and freshness. And don't sleep on the french fries! Dock and Claw is one of my boyfriend and I's all time favorite date night spots. I usually settle with the perfectly blackened shrimp poboy or delicious white wine clams and he always has the double dock burger because of his allergies. We love the vibe of the place as it took over such a historic piece of town and still managed to give it a great atmosphere. BYOB is always our fav so we can't complain in that realm, but one thing I have noticed over the past few years we've come is that we don't nearly get the same attention as other tables do. When we come with an older crowd we are waited on so nicely, but when it's just the two of us we maybe get someone coming over once or twice the whole meal. Now there isn't one specific scenario that makes me feel this way but more of a collection. I try to wrap my brain around why this may be because we tip well, are never too much of a hassle, and overall are happy and content customers when we are there! We have passed Dock and Claw over the years saying we've got to eat here, but never quite got to it. Well this year I was determined because I was wanting to try the Korean Duck wings. Well we finally made it and I'm so mad at myself for waiting so long. Yep, I got my Duck wings and they were amazing A sticky sweet bbq sauce that then catches you by surprise with some heat at the end. Delicious. My wife had the mussels in a garlic wine sauce. The mussels were plump and perfectly cooked. The garlic and white wine sauce was a garlic lovers dream. It comes with a wonderful bread slices to help you soak up that amazing broth. This is a busy tiny place, so come prepared to have a little wait. For us about 15 minutes. But the staff are very nice, food comes quickly, and the portions are plentiful. When I come back next July I will make sure Dock and Claw is on my have to go eat places. read more

I originally wanted to get the fish tacos but was told it was too much food. Oh well- another meal in my future! They can sell wine but do not have a liquor license. The house white was not good. My friend got the clam chowder. I only tasted it but was very impressed with how flavorful it was. I got the clams and they did not disappoint. Lots of delicious broth and bread for dipping. I had mixed feelings about this place. We rented the house right next door for a week so we decided to try it. It is very small. It also is kind of deceiving because you walk in and see a bar. But they don't serve liquor or beer. They do have wine for 15$ a glass. It is BYOB. They have a small menu but everything we ate was good. I personally had the lobster roll and it was yummy. I'm not sure why this place has such high reviews, it's basically a small dive bar. Food is mediocre at best. we had crab birria tacos (greasy and bland), oysters (good), tuna tower (edible but would not order again), and the corn (good). Much better food in Beach Haven elsewhere. Loud rock music is playing, the bar is sort of moon shaped and takes up most of the room with couple of high top tables. If you want good food and a nice vibe where you can sort of have a conversation then this is not your spot. read more

There are tables outside and some small tables inside, but the main set up is a large semicircle bar where you eat your delicious food. The staff is attentive and engaging. We sat at the large bar, chilled our drinks nearby in a large metal tub filled with ice. From the name you would surmise that it's mostly a seafood place but I decided to get the burger... When you're in Beach Haven, give this place a try! The former "Clam Bar", under new ownership with a new name is sure to please. Co-owner Kevin was working the inside and great to chat with. No reservations; write your name on the chalk wall to the right of the door and wait for a table or seats at the bar. We had hoped for an outdoor table, but there were only four and folks looked pretty settled in. We opted for seats at the bar and were happy for the A/C and camaraderie. Appetizer was Tuna Poke Nachos. Delicious but a few more pieces of tuna would have been nice. The ratio of tuna chips was off. Next up was garlic and white wine mussels. A heeping bowl full accompanied by warm bread. Lots of garlic and delicious. Enough said. Blackened shrimp Po' Boy...shrimp were big and made it difficult to eat the whole sandwich. Needed to be cut to enjoy. Presentation was great, but not functional. The fries that came with it were enjoyed by all. Chorizo tostados were very good. Fish tacos are made with fried fish and the alternative is blackened shrimp. We went for the alternative but were disappointed that only two shrimp per taco were provided. It was very tasty but would've been better with three shrimp per taco. Aioli may have overpowered the mango salsa. Hush puppies were deep fried and served with honey butter. Seemed a bit pricey at $10 per order, with hush puppies to spare. We would've liked to have paid less and had fewer hush puppies. We appreciated the large buckets of ice for BYOB. The kitchen closed at nine but at 8:45, people were still coming and the joint was jumping. Review is mixed, but we really enjoyed it and want you to check it out. 5 Stars! read more

Finishing up our meal, I heard someone sit down and say "does it taste the same Without the fear?" A reference to the previous establishment where you took your life in your hands using your cellphone and you used to have cash only. The new decor is fresh and updated. It needed it! The owner is incredibly friendly, on top of it and working his butt of behind the bar. The menu is still fairly small, but so is the building so par for the course. Some new favorites to be had in the burrata bruschetta and tuna nachos. The mussels are an old favorite and still just as good. The kids food - the burger and chicken fingers aren't just for kids, it's not crap, it's actually good quality stuff. The two things I miss are the fish tacos (the new ones are fried fish which aren't really my jam). I wish they'd introduce a nice grilled or blackened mahi taco but there is enough I love on the menu that I'll live without. Also the scallop melt. A super odd delicious LBI landmark dish, would love to see it hit the menu. It's still byob, still a U shaped bar and outdoor seating. Still a great place to go for some solid food. read more
