My family had diner here together and it was fantastic. We started with a soup trio of New England & Manhattan clam chowder with a crab bisque. For entrees I ordered the Seafood Ala Vodka which had Shrimp, Scallops and Crabmeat in a Light, Creamy Vodka Sauce, over Penne Pasta. I loved this! The sauce was silky and delicious and the seafood was fresh! My wife had the Shellfish Ala Créme with Sautéed Jumbo Lump Crabmeat & Diced Tomatoes with Light Sherry-Cream Sauce over Angel Hair. She really enjoyed this and the flavors were spot on.We also had the eggplant parmigiana which was very well fired and the sauce was seasoned very well. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake which was rich a s oozing molten chocolate, the cannoli was crisp and delicious. I have to say my favorite was the cheesecake in the almond cone! Wow! I have never had this before and it was AWESOME! Some piece have complained that the food is pricy, having spent roughly 40 summers in LBI the reality is eating out costs what it costs. Wonderful dinner at Stefano's in LBI last night! We started with the coconut shrimp. My husband had the soup sampler (seafood bisque, New England clam chowder and Manhattan clam chowder) and I had the seafood bisque. His favorite was definitely the New England! For entrees, my husband had the frutta del mare and I had the chicken parmesan. Our server Joe was fantastic! The portions were huge and food was delicious! Do not dine here in person if you are high risk. There was under 2 ft of distance between many outdoor tables when I was there and they were packed. That said, outdoor decor was very inviting. Had a reservation but it took over 10 minutes for anyone to so much as make eye contact. Eventually we were seated on the patio alarmingly close to other patrons (given Covid times) but we stayed anyway. Started with the Mediterranean calamari, flavors hit the spot and even though the calamari itself wasn't high quality, it was cooked well. Husband ordered the seafood with vodka sauce for his entree, I got the Tuna Siciliano and asked for it spicy, if possible. The dinner salads that came before the meals were ABYSMAL! Wilting, browning greens, a mushy tomato, some limp carrot matchsticks, and gunky dressing. We both thoroughly enjoyed our entrees at least, although their vodka sauce is basically just thickened heavy cream, my husband still liked it. No spice was added to the tuna and it didn't come with all the ingredients listed on the menu, but it was delicious and seared perfectly. For dessert we split a slice of chocolate cake; it was massive but not great, we left half of it there. Despite being a little disappointed by the overall experience, we were intrigued by what the term "bucket" on some of their take out options might actually entail, so later in the week we ordered the bucket of linguine with meatballs with a side of roasted veggies (didn't want to put us through their salad again). Asked if it would be possible to get the veggies with very little butter or oil and was told it was, but the veggies still arrived drenched in grease, oh well. The sauce on the pasta was lackluster but the meatballs were respectable and they really do mean a bucket! We ate it for 3 days and still couldn't finish it but had fun trying. One of the worst experiences ever. I rarely write reviews but this one deserves a call out. Taking advantage of the Shore traveler. This place charges NYC prices and is not even at Camden nJ quality. The highlight was the Calamari appetizer, whereas the main course was overpriced and poor quality. The crab cakes we definitely in bottom quartile I have ever had in spite of asking about the crab content. Which was about 10%. Terrible. And made us wait 20 minutes beyond our reservation time too. Tent is about 30 feet from a busy road so ambiance not good. Just a bad experience. The owners should be ashamed but I suspect they are laughing all the way to the bank. read more

We went for our one nice dinner a year down at the beach and Stefano's was the biggest waste of money. Our appetizers were fine, but most of it didn't need to be cooked. My entire was a just fine, nothing special and definitely not worth $42 for some mediocre pasta and shellfish. My lobster tail was over cooked that it was borderline rubber. My father's dish was supposed to have prosciutto on it, it was just ham, like an oven baked ham. My mother's dish was "risotto" it wasn't even close to risotto. It looked more like rice pilaf than risotto. The dessert we got was straight from the freezer and was mediocre at best. This is place we would never return to. The meal was so overpriced and mediocre. There are way better places on the island, with better food for about half the price. read more

This restaurant is INCREDIBLE! Beautiful ambiance and great staff! First, they bring out bread with delicious herbed butter. Then, a salad comes out before the entree. For the entree, I ordered the Seafood a la Vodka. IT WAS AMAZING! Such a generous portion. The sauce was delicious, and the seafood was so fresh and tasty. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was absolutely incredible. Course one to three was sheer perfection and the seafood was incredibly fresh. The atmosphere was welcoming and I couldn't get enough of the bread which was sliced in the center topped with tomato basil spread and served with shredded cheese. Waitress spilled a glass so hard it broke and splashed all over the people at the table beside us. Slow service - 1.5 hours to get our entrees. My wife was scraping her bowl because she was hungry waiting on him (we were 1.5 hours at that point)! Took 30 mins from apps just to get house salads. We are back for another birthday dinner and this time everyone loved their food! The restaurant is run by the same owners as the Blue Water Cafe. It is a BYOB and you can make reservations. I had the panko crusted scallops, husband had the lamb and others tried the steak and sea bass. The portions are very generous and come with a side, usually a risotto or crab mac n cheese. A salad comes with your meal and they bring a delicious bread basket. At the end of the meal they bring a dessert tray over with 8 or so options including 2 types of Juniors cheesecake. Everything looked so good but we had a birthday cake waiting at home. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I went to Stephano's without a reservation and had to be seated outside because they said they were booked until 9pm. This is in April, I was very surprised? I guess no one else was open on the island? Started off with fried calamari which was very good, no tentacles though, which I enjoy and not enough marinara for the huge portion they give you. So we just asked for more, no problem. We had the seafood over risotto which my husband really enjoyed. My shrimp Capri was very disappointing. Four very small shrimp stuffed with crabmeat, was supposed to be scampi style?There was no scampi sauce...my angel hair pasta was pretty much dry and not enough for the price they charge!! They should be embarrassed by serving someone that dish!! The waiter did check on us but after that he was no where to be found? Never cleared our plates? Never came to ask us for dessert or coffee? So my husband went inside to ask for the check? We just said forget about the dessert and coffee!! I would give it one more try and if happened again I wouldn't return! Very disappointing. The only good thing about this meal was the service, she couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. The food was awful however. The house salads given as an appetizer had too much dressing...soaked in it. The food was flavorless...tasted like crappy store bought. The menu has good variety although I wish they had whole wheat pasta and 1/2 portions. We split the special Eggplant Napoleon, which was layered to perfection. Salads come with all entrees, and if you switch out the regular dinner salad for one on the menu, it's huge. I got a salad with gorgonzola and pecans on it. It was tremendous. I ordered a pasta dish--can't remember what it was called, but they left off the black olives. The sauce was divine, but a lot of pasta went to waste. BF got the Chesapeake Steak, which was a special. The meat was cooked perfectly and the blue-cheese mashed potatoes and onion rings were great. We enjoyed our meal. Later that night, it was a different story. BF's meal was so rich that he got sick in the middle of the night. I was fine, since I had a lighter portion, but it was still a lot of food. Came here during my stay in LBI - my party had the New England and Manhattan Clam Chowder. We all agreed the N.E. Clam Chowder was amazing - the Manhattan though was rather salty. Four main courses 3 of us had risottos of different kinds and one had a penne seafood dish. The Risottos were O.K. - 2 of them again were rather salty but was still decent. We informed our waiter of this but we aren't the kind of people to send food back. All in all good service and delicious chowder. Just in the future if they can cut back on the salt it would be great! Also, we didn't want to lose our spots by our hotel so we took the LBI free bus down. And thank goodness we did - they have a small lot for about 8 cars and it was constantly packed. If you can, take a taxi here. read more

Ordered $100 worth of food for a large group and they forgot the salad dressing. When I called they said the only option was to drive back to the restaurant. We are 15 minutes away with guests arriving and asked some sort of credit. Snot nosed girl said no credit would be given. Terrible attitude on their mistake which could have had a better outcome. I love it when people say they treat you like family, well I don't like all my family members, with that said I won't say I was treated like family at Stefano's but I will say I was treated like royalty or a celebrity!! Best Italian food on Long Beach Island. Pasta is always perfectly cooked and all of the menu items are delicious. Tables and silverware are always clean. Staff is friendly and quick to respond.
